Good light reading with lots of interesting tidbits. Loved the little brainteasers peppered throughout the book. Enjoy! (Laura Jean Flagel) - Exactly what it says. Loads of interesting snippets of information and little things that I never knew. Terrific book and highly recommended. (George Field) - "The Big Book of Interesting Stuff" is jam-packed full of short (with few exceptions) interesting (with even fewer exceptions) and often ironic factoids, memes, jokes, and titillating tidbits. [...] It's worth twice the price he requests for it. My bride and I spent several evenings sharing sections of the book with one another and my own "copy" of the text has more highlights in it than a Michael Jordan NBA video. (Bruce Barker) BOOK The title says it all – The Big Book Of Interesting Stuff is packed full of interesting, entertaining, educational, and downright fun stuff to read. Quite entertaining, pretty much lived up to my expectations. The Big Book of Interesting Stuff is filled with humor, fun facts, and some "interesting stuff" I never knew. Hopkins added a few topics that fell a little flat and left me bored. But for the most part it was worth the read. If you're looking for something light, entertaining, some laugh out loud fun, where you might learn a little along the way, this is a good choice.
I love books about trivia. This one didn't disappoint. Had some great stuff, some long essays, some short facts and tucked in the middle was an awesome sci-fi short story.
Only drawback was a couple of typos, but nobody's perfect. I did not count off for them.
fun book, lots of really interesting stuff in it, I don't think there was a single topic I found uninteresting or boring, the stories and reports he included were very good as well, I enjoyed it very much.
Now I know lots of things I never knew I had to know! Seriously, this is a good read, and I'm looking forward to reading the next volume. Some people believe I actually knew all this stuff - I'm enjoying the compliments. Thank you Mr Hopkins!!
I choose this rating because the book is engaging and interesting. I liked the hilarity that was used but also the facts that were so different that it makes you wonder how anyone could have thought of them and put them in a book in an entertaining way.
This is one of those books that you can sit down and read a few pages while you are in the bathroom. Provides a good amount of jokes, trivia, stories, and brain teasers for those quick moments you need to distract yourself for.
Well written, the author doesn't just keep to the same bullet point scripting t, he actually explains and elaborates on the subjects he is talking about.
Mostly a fun read with lots of variety. I would actually give it 3 1/2 stars. He writes well for this type of book with mixed anecdotes, jokes, silly puns and mistakes that have appeared in print.
