Under a Harvest Moon

Among the grapes they discovered a passion for the land and a passion for each other...

Nico Delrosario will do anything to hold onto the vineyard he loves, even charm his new boss, a woman determined to sell the vineyard to the highest bidder.

For Danielle Whitney, selling the vineyard is her only option. Haunting memories of the past and worries for her son's future make it impossible to stay, even when she discovers she's falling in love with Nico.

But the tables turn, and Nico, unable to resist Danielle, soon finds himself the victim of his own plan. When the truth shatters their fragile trust, Nico must win Danielle back, because to lose this game will cost him more than the land he loves, it will cost him his heart.

I would give more stars but I felt there were some unresolved issues.

I really didn't have much to note on this book, it's romance with some cheese. The writing is decent, but the ending alone took away 1 star and if it weren't for my sleeping husband, I would have screamed. It ended so abruptly with loose ends. I didn't get the impression that there would be a 2nd book, but even if there was I won't be continuing.

Under a Harvest Moon by Joleen James
Not only did the title get me but the summary=grape vintners. Love learning more grape things, so technical out of all the books I've read none mentioned the refractometer and technical things like brix.
Book starts out with Phiilip who is elderly and he has a man that works the vineyard for him. He dies in the field and in his will he's stated his daughter must live there for 90 days.
Others run the vineyard but she is the only one who can make the decisions as to what to do in certain cases. She brings her son with her and the housekeeper tends to him. Her ex husband has also tracked her down and as always he's only there for the money.
Find it odd Daneille must hold his keys and wallet and anything else that will allow him to escape while he has the child overnight. She wakes up early at 3am and Nico the production manager shows her what he's working on. Love the discussion of the grafting!
They also have play time and there are many hidden family secrets...
Just when they are getting closer to one another she hands him the letter her father left and there's one for her also.
Things become complicated and they split in many ways, never to be together again...
So many different angles, I'll be thinking of this book for many months to come.

This was a slightly interesting story, taking the reader into winemaking from a novice's point of view. There was a bit of a romance thrown in, but I came away feeling it was very forced. The ending of the story was very abrupt, and like others I wanted to know what happened with the exes that were mentioned. Danielle's solution to things was not one I was expecting, so I know I was invested in what happened with her. I didn't like how Nico came across, especially the depths he appeared to sink to, but I liked how he redeemed himself in the end of things. A pleasant afternoon read for sure!

I gave this book a 3 as it was a mushy romance story but set in a beautiful landscape. I read it quickly as the characters are likeable and the story flows well.

I didn't like the abrupt ending, I was hoping to see Danielle's ex get his just desserts.

All in all an enjoyable read for a romance, but I like a good suspense story included and that's what the synopsis led me believe...not so!

Nice little love story set amid a scenic winery, with a decent dose of family secrets, horrible Ex's and the like.
