True Lies and Hump is a tale of living denial, where travesty of the young society meets its gradual renaissance. It portrays the raging storm in the minds of twenty-year olds and the confusion they go through to endure the highs and lows of life. It is a tale of transformation of an arrogant and self-centric creature to a mature and mellowed down human being. It also gives an insight into one of the greatest corporate frauds that India has known, through the eyes of an employee.

True, Lies and Hump brought out in me a wide variety of emotions as I moved through the various pages. Before I get any further, I must state that I liked the book very much (overall). It has its great moments and it has its not-so-great moments just like life itself.
The story is narrated in the first person by Sahil who appears to be a bit of many things - intelligent, articulate, ambitious, laid-back, affectionate, standoffish, selfish, caring,... Clearly, the author Ehsaaan is extremely talented and writes with an easy style. I liked the few short poems that spring up in various parts of the book as Sahil ruminates over some aspect of life.
The story moves quickly through Sahil's days in BITS, Pilani and through to his first job at Satyam. His early days at Satyam during training and then on the bench are a delight to read. Sahil's outlook in life changes ever so slowly after he meets the vivacious Shailu (Chinnu to him). Shailu plays a huge role in transforming Sahil (Puppy to her) from an arrogant personality to being a mature personality.
I raced through the early parts of the book to get to the point when Sahil would narrate the great Satyam corporate fraud. Unfortunately that would come up only on page 170 of the 222 pages book! For me that was a disappointment since I was looking forward to seeing this through the eyes of a young employee. But what Sahil describes does bring out the traumatic times the young employees would have gone through.
It is in the last two chapters of the book that Ehsaan truly excels. My favorite is the chapter entitled "The Chance, the Choice and the Decision".
Readers of this book are likely to be highly polarized - those who do not like it at all or those who love it. I belong to the latter category!

I generally don't read Indian authors but I made an exception for a friend. Surprisingly, the reason why I don't usually like Indian authors is the reason why I loved this one. It was just so Indian. It captured the essence of what living in India is like for a young adult and I connected to it so much. This is especially since I live in Hyderabad, where the story is set in. The author has fantastic descriptions of the city which was just amazing to read.
The story touches on many themes but the main underlying one seems to be that it's a coming of age story. The main character is very jaded but also a dreamer. His attitude is very much like many of the Hyerbadis I have seen, which makes it so much more relatable. The best part of the book I would have to say is the ending. I felt a bit of satisfaction seeing the arrogant main character brought down to his knees, but I was just mostly horrified. This book just proves that not every story has a happy ending and for most people living in India, it's the reality.
The author displays his writing prowess in small poems scattered in the book which really resonate with you. The story is so realistic that, the major question left lingering in your head during and after the story has finished is "did this really happen to the author or did he just make it up?" If the author did just make it all up,then a round of applause, because the amount of emotion in those pages is just unbelievable.
There are very few books that can move me to tears and that's generally how I judge books. So with this criteria, I can say that this book is just amazing.

the books says " the most beautiful form of love is pain". The book describe how love can be selfless, raw, inocent but painful at times. One who gets it their life is full of happiness but the one who dont they experiences sorrow and dull life. This book basically captures the essence of what living in India is like for a young adult and i connected with it so much.
My eyes roled down into tears while i read the book. It is so heart touchy and i personally connected with it because it is on youth itself. This book just proves that every story does not have a happg ending and something i love the most was its ending. I felt a bit satisfied seeing an arrogant man down on his knees , but it was just mostly horrified.
I can say it is icing of love and emotions so do read it....The book 2 is just so interesting and amzing and so related to practical life. After reading the whole book finally coming to term with the ending I can say that it is very realistic and the ending will give you a goosebumps. It is the harsh reality, which is way too different from the way the typical story ends. This give a fresh outlook to love, relationship and friendship - on life.

We all face different phases in our lives. Some are beautiful while some creates a bad impact on our lives. 'True Lies and Hump" is an amazing novel by Ehsaan Nashad which shows the stages of life a person undergoes. The writer beautifully describes the ups and downs which are common to almost all our lives through the character of Sahil. This novel talks about Sahil who at times becomes scared of taking decisions in his life. Also, his way of living is too serious as a man. When Chinnu, Shailu enters his life and turns his life completely. We all get a person in our lives who changes us. They brings out the best in us. Also, this book talks about the famous Satyam fraud which is a corporate fraud and shows the harsh realties of lives. Often it is seen that where there is happiness, there is sadness as well. And with love, one undergoes pain as well. Life is all about ups and downs. Though this does not has a happy ending, It teaches us a lot. This book is really worth reading for all the men and women out there

As the title suggests, 'True, Lies and Hump', the story revolves around truth and lies that lay men face in corporate lives. This book shows the various stages of lifetime of an individual . Sahil, a youth, initially arrogant and reckless but when the time comes, he matures into a caring and responsible man. All of this happens due to his ladylove, Shailu better referred to as Chinnu, who through her innocence, brings forth the inner self of Sahil. But, this is often not a mere tale of affection ; woven into it's the gory incident of corporate frauds that function an eye-opener for the commoner . Reading this book held me during a vortex of emotions, together seeing a living tale stitched back to life. I can say it's icing of affection and emotions so do read it.

ALL YOU NEED PERSON LIKE THE CHARATERS, One smile can start a relationship, one word can evoke a fight, one look can save a relationship , one person can transform your life! Perhaps for good or bad as a way forward. This book bewildered each emotional cell within me with its protagonist's transforming journey , by the arrival of Chinnu (a girl) like a new essance to a lazy-fusty dish. Rejuvinated Sahil's existence by offering a motive to his life with a new perspective. This book is about a new hope and optimism and I loved it, though in this social media world I'm not a book person but this momentary read was a treat. Thankyou Ehsaan for this beautiful piece, looking forward to more of it.

The lively and spirited character of Shailu plays a huge role in transforming Sahil from an arrogant personality to being a mature personality. It was her pure and innocent love which changed his misconception of love wherein he realized the fresh outlook on love, relationships, and friendships in life. It is so heart touching and I personally connected with it because it is about youth itself. It's painful when we cannot move on with the situation we are in and our living circumstances change our character. Love for everyone is the same which is admired and adored by everyone. What a beautiful love story, it relates to the incidents that a youth, a young man goes through in this early career stage. You would not expect a debut novel to be so well written, and this book might surprise you. It is a must read.

'True Lies and Hump" is an amazing novel with a Gripping Story-line . This novel depicts the stages in the life of a person undergoes. The age of 23-25, when A Boy or a Girl get's married they have to take several decisions together by keeping their family and future in Mind. They have to decide when will be the right time to get, many takes years to get this decision but some takes only days. After getting married there are more several choices to make for baby(family planning) for the sake of society and sometimes under the Pressure of family. Totally loved reading This one. This is the story about how life takes us to the highs and lows and despite we may hate change, we do change. How when we were small kids we used to have dreamy thoughts of how things are so easy and love is pure and perfect but a we grow up at an adolescent questions attack us and we are their all with our loved ones to guide us to somehow understand this world. It's a journey of transformation, realization and growing up with the storm of our thoughts. It's is a very beautiful book. It not a love story or a lesson giver but a journey to feel along the story.

True, Lies and Hump tells about life rapped in a denial situation where you trying to protect yourself by refusing to accept the truth happening around. the story is about a transformation of twenty year old selfish, arrogant person to a matured person. It also gives awareness of tricky and fraud people around us that one should be mindful of. I am not telling much of the story as every one should read it. Over all i just loved the story and the author Ehsaan Nashad has done a great work. looking forward to read many more books of yours. Good luck!

This novel of Ehsaan Nashad is something we can't afford to miss. This book is a tale whichy depicts immature,funny,laid back and selfish man to begin with. On the other hand Shailu is sweet,charming and vivacious girl. As the story progresses we see how Sahil's life gets impacted for Shailu,how he practically grows through out the story. He becomes mature,responsible and a lot more protective towards his love ones. Shailu becomes his Chinnu and Sahil becomes her Puppy.

It is rightly said that we judge people by their behaviour. Being with him he learns how can a someone's heart be so pure and innocent and brings positivity to his life. The book TRUE,LIES AND HUMP is a perfect story wherein a man change himself not just for him but for a women who loves her pure heartedly. The book ‘ True Lies and Hump ‘ revolves around the lives of Sahil and Shailu . The protagonist Sahil is an immature,funny,laid back and selfish young man . Shailu on the other hand is a very sweet , charming ,vivacious and a girl full of life. ‘True , Lies and Hump ‘ is a story which preaches that life is all about various highs and lows and how change is an integral part of an individual’s life , although one does not really likes changing . It's a transformational journey full of realizations and growing up with the storm of thoughts one has all time in the head . Readers feel involved in the journey , so it is not simply a love story but a beautiful tale of a journey Sahil experiences .

This book is so so amazing. I completed reading it in one sitting. I was unable to take eyes off the book. I was very connected. All the incidents were so relatable to the things which I have done and seen. I was especially connected to the story in the first chapter. While reading the book all my college memories were in my head. The thoughts were exactly same. The story carried me throughout the book. I recommend everyone to go through this amazing book.

'True Lies and Hump" is an amazing novel witten by Ehsaan Nashad which tells about the stages of life a person undergoes.
