After having faced with all kinds of hindrance from the local administration, the much hyped NabannaChalo of BJP Bengal finally came to a close. The dedicated Karyakartas made sure the efforts & hype lives by to it. From earlier that night itself, people in 1000s boarded their Kolkata bound trains ultimately taking the crowd levels to a satisfactory one & also as per the expectations of the party leadership.
Fast forward, AITC MP Abhisekh Banerjee then took to personal attacks on LoP Suvendu Adhikari & to whose counter, this book was publicized during one of his press meets, based upon which we are here today.
Key takeaways, only one lesson, whoever is your enemy today, tommorow they'll be your friend in Bengal politics. No denying CPIM's ruthlessness towards Mamata Banerjee, but same way where she ought to have stand out, she chose to follow the similar pattern of old 34Y. AITC today remains to be the polished version of the old Left Front & while BJP given the potential, could be the revamped one. For the people here, politics based on ideology is a non-existent thing, they go with the flow & tend to stick with the ruling power. As cited through many such examples, the author highlights this, people loyal to CPIM for years became overnight followers of Mamata Banerjee. The same that is to happen again in case of a future government change, if BJP emerge out as the victor that is.
Sure pal, give us the talk about fascism & communalism of PM Modi, but what good has the other two got us to offer ? Political violence, extortions, corruptions, frauds, AITC's misdeeds is quite well known to the Bengal public, but yeah suprisingly, the mandate is there for it.
2021, whatever was the idea for Bengal BJP, it didn't go as per plan. There were many hopes of a Government change & as a strict anti-TMC, ofcourse my support goes out to BJP in this tough road ahead. As for the question regarding the opposition in State stands, CPIM can't be an alternative to AITC, it has to be someone new & our closest bet today is BJP under Suvendu Adhikari & Dilip Ghosh.
The public mandate of 2.3 CR pro BJP votes against the 2.6 CR votes recieved of TMC offers us with some anticipation of the changing times ahead that is to await our State. Until then, we try & fight unitedly as a team. Our dream for a better Bengal & towards achieving that goal, the democratic fight shall go on no matter what.
Can this be called an exposé, umm OK yes. But what is the content wattage, extremely low, almost to ticklish proportions to the behemoth that is now known as Didi. His exposes are - 1. How Mamata sidelined and kicked him in the loins, during his tenure in the TMC in favor of less deserving ( from the author's pov) candidates ( ahem..sour grapes alert) 2. How Mamata has laundered some 9000 odd rupees of party fund and haven't furnished an account of those. Yes you read it right 9000 ( no crores after that). 3. How Mamata may have been in an clandestine marriage and a suspected abortion with one Ranjit Ghosh. 4. How Mamata showed the middle finger to Atal Behari's NDA. 5. How she has recruited fraudsters, womanisers and scammers in TMC 6. How none of his RTIs are not responded by TMC government. 7. How Mamata usurped a property that her father had originally rented. 8. How Mamata mishandled the Teesta water sharing issue 9. How she has 2 birthday's and one birth certificate she burnt away ..and most importantly 10. How during her Singrur fast of 26 days, she actually had foreign chocolates hidden under her pillow for personal consumption and how she has arranged for a hidden supplybof chicken sandwiches.
Yes, so these all do corroborate his claims of Mamata lying through her teeth about her projected image. But come on guys, if you consider the above as the baseline for a politician of CM stature, then the Kalyug Goddess has in fact not failed but succeeded, because these are such petty charges as compared to what has been exposed and proved about politicians in Maharashtra ( remember Anil Deshmukh and his 100 crore, remember Ashok Chavan and his Sadan ghotala, Sharad Pawar - Lavasa etc.). I am suspecting that if Mamata actually has read this, then all you could imagine her doing is a tongue in cheek sly laugh.
So all in all, yes technically this is an exposé , albeit ,in my opinion, a very lame one. Almost seems to rejuvenate the forgotten memories of the author in the people's minds.
How full marks still for showing balls to pit even these things in print , considering Didi is at the helm for last 15 years. Speaks high of Bengal that the author is alive and kicking. Disclaimer- The author did mention that this book was published in post haste and the bad editing can be excused on that grounds.
