I Would, is a short poem that touches on the difficulties of being in a long distance relationship. Yet, with the difficulties there are always hopes of a reunion on the horizon.

Robert has been writing poetry since the eleventh grade. His writing started as impulsive rambling, but soon became a passion. A few years later, he attended SUNY Potsdam where he received a B.A. in Creative Writing.
His main focus is poetry, but he's also known for dabbling in short fiction, and at times erotica. Robert has also created the blog A Life Among The Pages, where he posts about his writing, love of books, and reviews books.
When he's not reading or writing, Robert enjoys spending time with his dog, Deuc. Deuc ran out of the woods in August 2011 and they have been inseparable ever since.
I loved this poem. This is the first poem I have read from Robert Zimmermann. I will definitely check out more of Robert’s work. This poem really hit home with me. I had a long distance relationship with a very beautiful girl I met in Japan when I was modeling. When I was back in the states, I would miss her very much. We could only see each other every six months. She was so precious to me. My favorite part of the poem is where Robert says there is a closer point in my mind. That line made me think that yes I did have a connection with her in my mind and to hold on to that connection even in times of separation. I still to this day hold on to those precious memories of her. Thank you Robert for sharing your art with us and I do look forward to reading more of your work.
Honestly, the cover for me doesn't speak to the poem at all, unless maybe the pain that comes with distance. I have to say this was a beautiful poem; exquisitely written and I actually never re-read anything--this will however remain in my Kindle for just that purpose.
I have to say as well, the best present one could get, is one written in words like this. And to share this pain/love with the world is truly a phenomenal and unique gift on top of it. It's one of my favorites, but there are so many of his works that I love, many of which are not published (this is the 3rd pubbed work I've read), and additional works can be found on his blog.
This is the third poetry book I've read from this author. Each time his words are soulful and real. He writes about his life, life in general. This is about long distance relationships. Watch for this author. If you haven't read poetry, don't hesitate to give Rob a try, he will change your mind because his work is real, so it resonates with most. Thank you for sharing Rob.
Just beautiful! Absolutely loved this book, the poems were exquisite! If anyone who has ever had a long distance relationship you can relate! The way he put the words together and gave them feelings it made me cry as I had lived it and it was very hard! Mr. Zimmermann is a true romantic. It was a really beautiful poem.
This is an insightful, and very beautiful poem whose quiet power and meaning startle the reader after finishing it, and bring to mind many varied thoughts, and sensations. Restrained, elegant, and utterly memorable.
This was by far a lovely poem that truly depicts how hard it is to have a long distance relationship. I have been in one and does it suck lol. I don't know how I ever managed except by the love that I once had. Keep on the wonderful work Mr. Robert!
Beautiful poem with wonderful imagery. The third piece of writing from Robert Zimmerman I have read. I enjoyed his erotic short story but it is his poetry that I loved the most. Looking forward to finding more from this wonderful writer.
This is a poem about two places still trying to stay connected and I can relate to this because of the way things have been this past year... I Would if I could just close my eyes
Anyone who has been or is in a long distant relationship can relate to this poem. The author expertly describes the frustrations and longings in his own quirky way.
I love this poem. It talks about struggles of long distance relationship. Sometimes it is hard for a relationship when there are miles between each other.
I chose this rating (5 stars) for two great reasons why poets write and why many people write poetry. It reaches in and grabs your heart and it soothes your brow, kissing your eyes. I would like to see Mr. Zimmermann get well paid for his works. Bravo!
