Mommy's review from 6/17/09 -

This is a cute little book that I thought was going to be a chore to read to Julia. The description on the back seemed sort of blah to me but Julia wanted it so Julia got it.
Then when we actually started to read it I thought it was pretty cute. It's short, the perfect short bedtime story actually. It's just about a little chick named...
Little Chick (surprise!) who wakes up very early wanting breakfast one day and is told that breakfast will be here when the sun comes up. Then he has to watch everyone else from the cow to the farmers family get their breakfast before getting his. Needless to say he's quite worried that his breakfast isn't coming.
I can see us reading this a bunch of times still.

Cute, old-fashioned easy reader set on a fantasy farm.

Vegan parents note: The family cow is shown being milked, and the mother hen is shown laying an egg "for the farmer's breakfast."
