This is a cute story of a young one expressing her independence and exploring the world just outside of her home. It's a sweet tale and I like that it shows how her Mom (Broody Hen) is watching over her, unbeknownst to Little Chick. Our girls enjoyed this story, and it's a fun one to read aloud.
In down town Marion, on East Center Street, there is a free Mini Library box. It had a couple of romance novels in it, and it had this little book. Instead of taking it, I just read it right there. It was a cute like book with lovely drawn pictures. It isn't much of a book to read, but it did make me smile as I stood in the sunshine and read it. :)
My 2 year old daughter's current favorite book. I have read it at least five times a day for the last few weeks. It is a pleasant story, not too long, with enough variety not to feel too repetitive and lovely illustrations to please us both.
Little Chick disobeys mother, and she does not really learn a lesson. While she gets lost due to disobeying her mother, she plans to do it again the next day.
