"Crystal Ashes" explores a seemingly utopian future, where communism is established as the dominant political form and where the only dissenting voice is, ironically, the Russian people.

In a society where internet has become government property, two brothers are torn between the pursuit of truth and the possibility of reuniting with a previous life, a past where the best alternate escape was suicide.

"General Nori contemplated from above the empire he had created in more than half a century. Was it all as he had wished?

Throughout the years he had made some wrong decisions, he knew now, but each time he had fulfilled his duty. Many people had suffered because of him but it hadn't all been in vain. Common good had always been the most important goal, and that meant weal for the majority of them. Not everyone can win."

Found it even better than the first one, I think the story really starts to take off here. The characters are well outlined and I didn't expect some of the events, particularly near the ending!

Another good cliffhanger to keep me hooked and waiting for the third and final part.
