For Grace Summers, life after the super solar flare and deadly viral outbreak can be summed up in one word. Alone. Having lost everyone she loved, Grace travels on foot to her family’s remote hunting cabin, where her father stockpiled food and supplies for this type of situation.
Along the way, she meets Noah Hill and Ethan Erikson, a couple traveling the same direction. Callie struggles with her attraction to the pair until they make it clear they are just as interested in her.
With Noah and Ethan, Grace is no longer alone but can she bring herself to trust them in this new world where everyone is trying to survive no matter the cost?
Received a copy from publisher for an honest review
When it comes to smutty books, menages that are the M/M/F combination are among my most favourite. When I received a request to review Sanctuary I fell in love with the cover and the book blurb. I had to read this one. I'm so glad I did.
Sanctuary is an erotic M/M/F story but the novella is not full of over the top of smut. There is actually a pretty cool story that I enjoyed just as much as all the sexy action. Sanctuary scored high for me because as much as I like an erotic story, there has to be an intriguing plot that captivates me. The creative idea that a solar flare combined with a deadly human virus affecting the world made for a compelling read and had me wondering what would happen in real life.
Grace was a totally great character. She was determined and smart. She had heaps of courage to venture out on massive mountain hike alone with her companion dog seeking the sanctuary of her deceased parents cabin. I had such admiration for her to take on the trek while grieving for the loss of her family members. The scenes and the mood were well written and I felt I was hiking right along with Grace.
Along the exhausting journey enters Noah and Ethan. These two committed partners quickly form a friendly relationship with Grace but do so under the safety pretense that they are gay. Well as the guys say, "mostly gay." With their protective personalities on high alert, the trio decide to band together and accompany Grace to the cabin. I loved that their threesome didn't come across as weird or uncomfortably forced. The story was written where everything seemed so normal in a time period where nothing was normal. Their stalwart bond was so natural and accepting.
The intimate scenes were moving and affectionate. Lots of hot and steamy but not over the top ridiculous. I liked how the author, Jessica Jarman futher solidified their loving relationship by including one on one time with each other in addition to menages. It was crystal clear that Noah and Ethan were very much in love with each other prior to having Grace join their family. I also LOVED that the novella didn't end with Grace being pregnant. 1000 thank yous to the author for not doing that as an ending.
I noticed that Sanctuary is book one of a series and I will happily if not eagerly read book 2. As I mentioned earlier there is an actual storyline in Sanctuary and the author Jessica Jarman did a great job setting up for a continuation.
Teasers: stockpiled cabin, violent intruders, family additions, barren small towns
Grace is on a journey, to escape the savagery of the city she tracks her way to refuge. Alone except for her companion, Callie, they cautiously hike further out. Her destination is the only thing she has left aside from Callie and her rucksack.
Along the way she learns that encounters with others, just as desperate or even more so than her, are dangerous. Thus, as she is exhausted one evening, the appearance of two males is not welcomed and met with a friendly rifle greeting.
Noah and Ethan manage to convince the pretty young woman to lower her weapon and share the campground with some less than completely honest introductions. They're not the only one keeping information on a need to know basis, Grace has some secrets of her own.
All the elements for a survivalist post-apocalyptic tale were there, but the handling was awkward. The dialogue was overly explanatory and the sexual interactions ran through a set series of activities each time they got together. It wasn't quite Ikea sex and it didn't get the heart racing. On the other hand, the journey and the subsequent events they go through together are well done, even if not groundbreaking.
Recommended for readers desiring a non strenuous post-apocalyptic scenario.

This was a pretty good story. It's set in a post apocalyptic world where a combo of a solar flare (which knocked out all electricity on the planet) and a global virus (that killed the majority of the people) has ravaged the world.
Grace is a pretty cool heroine. She is left alone when all her family dies from the virus. She (and her dog) are travelling to a cabin her Dad set up for emergencies. She's had a rough time but she's determined and about a week away when she meets Ethan and Noah.
Ethan and Noah are a couple but bi-sexual. They're pretty good guys and are trying to find a place that would be safe to settle down. When they meet Grace they have to work to calm her fears and get her to let them travel with her. Since she's on her own (although they believe she's meeting family at the cabin) they try to help her while they're traveling in the same direction.
As they travel together, Grace learns to trust Ethan and Noah. She's also embarrassed when she finds herself attracted to them (At the time she thinks they're gay, not bi). She doesn't realize they're just as attracted to her and she is to them. Eventually things come out and all 3 end up in bed together. . This proceeds as they continue to travel together and she admits she has no one waiting for her and offers to let them stay with her if they want. They get to the cabin and Ethan and Noah do agree to stay but don't say for how long.
There are some issues that end up needing to be dealt with. Getting settled in to the cabin and checking out the area. Grace has been concentrating on survival so once they get to the cabin she has to get a handle on her emotions and the grief over her family. There's also encounters with other survivors, both good and bad, that come up and have to be handled. During this time, Grace, Ethan, and Noah are growing closer and Grace is afraid they're going to leave. Eventually things get worked/talked out and we're left with a happy ending for the three.
I really enjoyed reading this story. It's an interesting concept and I think JJ did a very good job on writing it. I hope the next book in the series comes out soon because I'm definitely planning to buy it. I'd recommend this story. Thumbs up. :)
This was an interesting read, set in the future where earth has suffered a solar flare which knocked out all technology, then the human race suffered from a virus which wipe out most of the population. The book follows tGrace who has survived the virus, but has lost all her family. She's travelling to her family lodge where her dad has ensured that if the inevitable occurred, that his family would be self sufficient. The book follows how she struggles along her journey, and meets an unusual couple in Ethan and Noah.
This Male couple, take Grace under their wing, and form an unusual relationship. This is a lovely, good feel book. I loved the relationships. I couldn't understand the relevance of Chloe and Dew to the story and there are a few grammatical errors which I found annoying.
I do feel this book is worth more than 3 stars but not quite 4 because of these annoying niggles..may be only pertinent to me, but spoilt the story just that little bit, and the fact it was a bit short, and I wanted more x

I love end of the worlds books. This is the first one I've read that has erotica with it. I loved it! Grace was a great heroine smart, tough with a vulnerable side. Her German Shepherd was my favorite character, as the dog typically is in most stories I read.
Noah and Ethan were such a natural addition to the story. I didn't feel like the author forced the couple into the plot to create a mmf book. Lots of hot and steamy scenes with a tender side. I will be looking for more books in this series.
