GIVE ME! *tackles slow publishers* English version now! ........ ............. I might have gone overboard there but... I want! The show was awesome pure kick-ass. Now if you'll excuse me. *goes off to kidnap Akane, Kagari, and Makishima* TRIPLE THREAT!
This dystopia predicts the dark future that human societies will be living in as a result of their persistent pursuit of perfectionism. The myth of beauty, which enacted the measurements of an ideally beautiful body, becomes applicable to the human mind in Psych-Pass. How is this goal achieved? Well, through scanning the minds of people with a computerized machine called "The Dominator". The human mind is reduced to a physical quantity that can quantitatively measured with numbers and immediately "beautified" or eliminated. Can you imagine how satanic and destructive this idea is?
Also, this manga focuses on the relationship between the mind and criminal behavior. I started to think, am I a latent criminal? Does committing a crime occur to me when I am distressed or anxious?
This series, in addition, opens up a can of worms as The Sybil, which manifests neutralized and objective science, cannot judge some unique individuals, while it deems some individuals with good intentions as evil threats to society. If you still assign absolute power to science, you should start questioning this.
Concerning the characters, what I love the most is that the borderlines between good and evil are blurred. For instance,Mika, who is supposed to bring about justice, still trusts the judgement of The Sybil system even though she knows it is made of criminal minds. On the other hand, Akane tries to outsmart The Sybil System to achieve justice after knowing the truth. However, the most mysterious character in the manga remains Shogo Makishima. He is willing to commit or encourage other people to commit insanely violent crimes just to shake the society off and reveal the evils that lie underneath The Sybil System. What I do not like about Shogo's character is that his uniqueness is a gift from nature that he knows how to take advantage of rather than wholly stemming from his free conscious and will, unlike the protagonist Kogami, a latent criminal who acts upon his free will and isn't afraid of the sequences. Like Hannibal in The Silence of the Lambs, you cannot help but sympathizing with the anti-hero, Shogo.
The manga would be more twisted if Akane and The Chief are not one-dimensional.
The atmosphere of the comic was perfectly crafted to serve these gloomy and sophisticated themes. As the illustrations show, People die in gross violent ways and others are put under a terrible psychological torture because they have to witness and deal with all of this killing. Also, most of the killing occur in closed and underground settings, which adds more gloominess and mystery to Psycho-Pass.
Beliau terkesan cuma makan gaji buta kan jadinya.
It's hard to say whether "Attack on Titan" or "Psycho-Pass" is my favorite anime. The story is set in a future version of Japan in which a form of AI exists that can scan a person's mental state, and on that basis decide whether or not they have the potential to commit crime. If the AI deems that they do, they are pre-emptively thrown in prison or killed. Society is built on the assumption that this AI is accurate. However, if hypothetically the AI were to somehow fail to identify a criminal, then they could act with impunity.
Back in fall 2022 I was looking for Chinese reading material and thought I'd try to find the Manga adaption of Psycho-Pass. I discovered that no such manga exists, but that the story has been put in novel form, available in Japanese as well as Chinese, but no other languages. The Chinese edition consists of a "Part 1 (上)" novel and a "Part 2 (下)" novel, each of which are a little over 300 pages. I've been chipping away at Part 1 for a few months, and finally finished last Sunday. That brings the total number of full length Chinese novels I have read so far up to five. I hope to double that number by the end of 2023, meaning I must read at least five more Chinese novels of a similar difficulty and length this year. I'm starting with 心靈判官 下, which I hope to make my way through faster than 上.
The manga Psycho-Pass by Motohiro katsuyuki is about the story of the future when the psychological state and disposition of human beings can be numerically. At the beginning of the story, all kinds of monitoring cameras have been upgraded and networked to calculate the value of each mental state and personality tendency of human being. Therefore, people need to constantly ensure their index is in the normal range, otherwise it will be regarded as potential offender by the system and will be "corrected". The policemen under the supervision of policing are divided into arrests for the prisoners' operative officers and the "surveillance officers" who monitor the commanding officers. At the middle of the story, the members of the first division of the Security Bureau have their thoughts. Although they find that what they do often contradicts real justice, they have to continue to perform their duties under surveillance. At the ed of the story, in dealing with cases, they are gradually discovering and exploring the true system of human Sibyl System. The story tells us to be brave and loving.
Fukami Makoto, who is famous for his work of GeNez and Young gun carnival, had produced a 2-part novel series that really drew me in to not only read the novel but to watch the highly praised anime. A crime and mystery novel set in a cyberpunk Japan, just the setting alone drew me into this story. A powerful network called the Sibyl System existed to measure the likelihood of citizens committing a crime and if it crosses a certain line, the "enforcers" must apprehend them. The relationship of the 2 protagonists Shinya Kogami and Akane Tsunemori really developed over the first novel, starting with Akane mistakenly firing her gun at Shinya, but accepted the mistake and grew closer. I can't wait to continue reading the 2nd book.
I'm getting my hands on this if it was in english.
IM TACKLING THIS WHEN ITS IN ENGLISHDASJIODSNA
I just finished the anime with a dear friend of mine, and it was PEAK.
It was pretty good and tbh it's something I'd recommend anyone to watch this if you are into dystopian type of things, and this might even become true into the real world if you think about it more deeply.
The mc of this was actually a good mc unlike some others, she's very smart from the personality i've seen and just a OVERALL ALL 10/10 MC.
Wow! No one does serial killers and mind-bogling villians better than Mangas and British Television.
Psycho Pass is a story about a world whose sole purpose is to reach Utopia where people are judged by their mental states, by their auras- the higher psycho pass, the more unstable you are.
The complete concept of Psycho Pass is unique, intriguing, captivating and intense. You want to hate the villian but you can't; it's so well written.
The protagonist Akane, a rookie by all intents and purposes, was smart. Hats-off to her ability to remain calm. She was like eye of the storm; calm in all the chaos around her.
The end was so unexpected- didn't see it coming from a light year away. I learned so many things from this manga; it's become my most favorite.
And I loved Shinya Kogami. He was absolutely sexy. ;)
I read Psycho Pass recently and it was great. The story is super unique and crazy good, and the characters are all connected and really well developed. The story takes place in future Japan, with crime on an all time low, due to the development of the Dominator weapon and the Psycho Pass. Everyone is tested to see what hue their Psycho Pass is, and it determines if they have committed a crime, are thinking about it, or are going to in the distant future. The person then receives help if they are found to have a darker, "clouded" Psycho Pass. The Dominators are a kind of gun the won't let the police shoot until they persons Psycho pass has exceeded 90. The most interesting part is the main antagonist, and his interactions with the characters. He has a Psycho Pass of 4 (Lower than some members of the police force) yet he can commit horrible crimes with immunity to the system. If your are a fan of crime or mystery you will love this book...also the anime's pretty well done.
