Liked the book and the ideas expressed therein, but I have seen them better described before. (for instance Wolterstorff's 'reason within the bounds of religion')
However, I bought this book in a used bookstore, and discovered a letter within from the author to the first owner. The letter was very informal, with the author thanking the recipient for a stay in Amsterdam. (also where I bought the book)
Based on the (first) name in the book and the content (reformational philosophy) I have been able to identify, with some level of confidence, the original owner. Who had passed away, and whose books indeed ended up on the Amsterdam used books market.
