I'm so glad you came to stop by and read a few of my stories.
Thank you, and I hope you enjoyed them.
To those that began reading my stories over a decade ago, an even bigger thank you.
Without your support I wouldn't have been able to afford to finish university.
I no longer write under this name. But I hope these stories resonate with people still.

I have supremely enjoyed writing this story.
The characters in this series are my favourite characters to date.
I release it over to you guys now.
As usual, some quotes to consider:

~Silas
There’s a peaceful sweetness in slipping over to the unfettered state of mania. I like the euphoric feelings I achieve in that state. It’s like sex, and like the being on a drug induced journey. It’s addictive, and once you’re there, you never want to come back down.

~Jade with Silas
“I love you Silas.”
“I love you too, Jade.”
“You know, you’re not just my brother; you’re also my kid. I raised you, and I did the best I could with what I had.” She says softly, lovingly.
“I bet you regret it now.”
“No. I’d never regret you. How could I regret having an intense and complete love for someone who feels the same for me?” she asks.
“You love Ben; that’s intense.” I argue.
“I could never love Ben the same way I love you. You’re my flesh and blood. I look at you and I see what I made into a man reflected back at me. The sense of accomplishment is overwhelming.” she whispers.

~Silas explaining things to Isi
"You get to see the real me, Isi; all of it. The person who says dumb shit, the person who admits to hearing voices, the person who gets depressed and sometimes gets ultra high and angry. I hope you don’t have to see the worst, but I will not hide that from you either. Everyone else, apart from my family and now you, don’t see that. Everyone else gets to see the fake me. The skin I put on like clothes and wear for a performance like a stupid circus clown. The fake me that gets accepted, the fake me that means I’m allowed out in public; the fake me that grates and hurts to wear, because I’ll always know that people don’t like me, they like the fake performance I’m obligated to perform for them.” I breathe, squeeze her hand and look at the sky momentarily before looking back at her.
“I have no other choice but to do that; to perform and be someone I’m not in order to gain acceptance from the real people population; otherwise I’d be ostracized by nearly all of them. The real me has to be a secret. I have no choice. Then you get people who for no real reason parade around with fake smiles, teeth, boobs and tans. They have a choice but they choose to be fake to make people think they’re something else; when they’d easily be able to find acceptance and love just being themselves. They plaster on their fake looks and personalities and lie to the world when they don’t even have to. I fucking hate that, and I can’t stomach them for even a second.”

and finally
~Isi
He’s crumpling now, because he’s finally broken. I feel my chest constrict and my heart is hurting.
“Silas look at me.” I ask him. He looks and his beautiful green eyes seem to be holding onto a world of sadness. I hold his face and bring his forehead down to rest on mine.
“If I lose you now, my entire life would stop and I’d cease to exist.” I say. “You’re my everything Silas. You’re my reason to get up in the morning. You’re the reason I’m happy again, you’re the air I breathe and the sunshine in my sky.” I croak, feeling the ball in my throat getting bigger and bigger.

Seriously hope you like it.
I look forward to the next journey. ;)

Okay
Am I okay? Yeah, sure… I’m okay.
But I really kind of want to cry.

This book ends on a cliffhanger. I’m generally not very good with cliffhangers unless the next installment is ready for me to read. But I do LOVE this book. If you like to feel, and don’t mind going through ups and downs of emotion, then read on…

This review has naughty words in it too. Just letting you know.

Silas
Silas Tayte (image above) is hospitalized in an acute mental health ward after his girlfriend of some years, Shae, breaks up with him. As readers, we get to experience the heartbreaking memories, feelings and thoughts of Silas as he struggles with his demons through his acute illness.
The writing is raw, and completely believable, and it’s somewhat confronting.
What I love most about this part of the book is the family unity between Ben, Jade and Silas. It is obvious that the family dynamics they created in the first book, A Pretty Pill, are fundamentally significant and important to all of them. That message is continued throughout this story and strongly conveyed further down the track.
family

When Silas meets Isobelle, a cleaner at his transitional mental health unit, after he is discharged from his acute setting (having stayed there for 3 months), he isn’t looking for romance. He is looking for friendship.
Isobelle

Isi, as she likes to be called, is struggling with her own demons, and it becomes clear to both of them after he finishes his transition, that there is more to their bond than friendship. That there is an attraction and need between them they cannot deny.
I understood completely Silas’ thought processes on why Shae was a ‘blissful stopover’ in his pathway of life, and that Isi is his future. The two have a depth to themselves that would be lost on anyone else. They are both long suffering and beautiful people.
beautiful people
Unfortunately for both of them, they are not free to pursue their lives together unhindered.
Silas, now free from outside influences himself, is unfortunately drawn into the shit that Isi must endure, and again it’s heartbreaking to watch him fall apart once again. The intense issues Isi is being forced to wade through are nothing short of frightening, and Silas’ desperate need to protect her and keep her safe taxes his soul deeply.

“I can’t lose you.” He croaks.
“I don’t want to go anywhere.” I whisper.
“If he touches you I’ll kill him.” He promises.
“I’d try to kill him first.” I promise.
He groans and leans in to kiss me.
“We need to find a better place to hide for now.” He says gently, and I can tell it’s taking everything in him not to erupt and instead calm down. There’s something else in his eyes too… fear.
“I know.”
“I’m struggling with this Isi.” He says and then he begins to cry.
“Fuck.” I whisper, and I pull him toward me. “I’m so sorry Silas. Please, stay with me now…

And then…

There are some seriously funny moments in this book. The banter between Jade, Ben and Silas is still somewhat present, and the Thanksgiving dinner made me laugh quite considerably.

“Fucking hell Jade, what the fuck have you done?” I’m screaming as I attempt to wipe the offending burn from my tongue with my paper napkin, which is completely fucked because it just disintegrates and I end up spitting it out in bits and swallowing even more. I feel like I’ve licked battery acid, swallowed it and then for good measure smeared the burning shit all over my lips.

And once again… the sex scenes are memorable. The chemistry between Silas and Isi is substantial. It may not be quite as frantic as Ben and Jade’s in the first book, but I loved how it was more about connecting with these two than fucking. Whatever, it still resulted in being hot.

He puts me down on my feet next to his bed.
“I need you to stand till I take all of your clothes off, can you manage that?” He smiles.
I smile in reply.
He starts by having me assist him in getting my t-shirt off.
“That can stay off tonight.” he stipulates.
“I’ll need it when I’m driving.” I chuckle.
He’s shaking his head.
“You’re not leaving. You’re staying with me the whole night. I’m not sending you on your merry way after making love to you. I’ll need you here all night.” He says.
He’s kneeling in front of me, having removed my bra already and tossed it aside. I have yet to murmur my consent to stay the night, but really I’m just hoping my silence implies consent, because my mind is a jumble of lust and love, and I’m desperate for this to continue. So I don’t intend to leave at all.

…and then it’s on!

But essentially this book hovers in dark corners.

The climax to the situation the two lovers are forced to endure, reaches its zenith at the very end, and we are left wondering what will happen to the two main characters. It’s painful to read and leaves you feeling washed out and devastated…
family

So, I'm pleading with Ms Copp to get those rabbits pumping... I mean get to frisking her magic hat and produce some God damn bunnies... I mean books. I want the last book. I want it earlier rather than later, I really need to know what happens to the two of them. I want that HEA. I need that HEA. I’ve docked you half a star for making me wait.
You get only 4.5 stars.

But because I think you have a really great writing style, and I like your books, here’s some inspiration to assist you in getting the final story begun.

4.5 Stars. This is part two of a trilogy of books in this contemporary, romantic drama for New Adult/Adults. The characters develop more intensely in this book, and the storyline continues to be painstakingly researched and executed so superbly that you believe that you're living it. (Oh yeah, that's right I am - LOL). The only down side to this story is waiting for the last book to come out. Love this book, love this author, Love the lingo.

I loved it. nothing "fake" about Criss Copp's portrayal of this broken family of Taco's. I did notice Isi sometimes used terms not used by Americans! especially since she is from SoCal. ;) thanks Ms Coop for this fabulous story, I'm excited for #3...

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED Fake , although I will say the Epilogue is a KILLER of a cliffhanger OMG !!!! I need Book #3 NOW ..... I so did not know this had a Killer Cliffhanger Or I would of waited to read the series ,I so dislike Cliffhangers.

Anyways Aside from that This book ROCKS just like the first one did.

Silas Tayte, aged 19 and a Mixed Martial Arts fighter; life itself has been the biggest battle of all.
An orphan at 12; then raised by his sister Jade, after recovering from life threatening injuries; he continued to struggle further through his teenage years with mental illness, until he was properly diagnosed as bipolar and treated effectively.
However, his illness is only stable when his medication is properly managed, and it’s hard to care about that when life is happening all around him.
When his girlfriend Shae walks away, his world implodes.

We start this book with the Prologue and Silas in Treatment again. His Girlfriend Shae has left him and he has gone into the zone and has become Manic. We get the raw emotions, the Heartache, the memories that Salis has of being with Shae. He has a rough first 2 weeks and this is also where Silas Meets Isobelle.

Isobelle Mulligan, aged 25, was raised in a life of privilege that she was desperate to escape. Drawn to a military life, she participates in two tours of duty in Afghanistan as an Army medic... before it’s all cut short by an IED.
She keeps to the fringes of society, trapped in the confines of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Cleaning at a transitional age youth division of a private mental health facility; Isobelle’s withdrawn nature is challenged by Silas... and because of her employment; their growing friendship must remain a secret.

Despite pain, heartache and interference, the two eventually fall in love.
However, life is rarely that helpful, and the two are consistently tested to prove that they deserve their chance at happiness.

"I’m perched over the top of her, and I’m breathing hard, and I have this confusing moment where I almost move in to push her shirt up and begin kissing her under it, but I stop myself; and I mean, I literally just stop myself and look at her giggling underneath me.
My brain is analyzing this moment in extreme detail.
I’m aroused; seriously and unquestionably aroused.
I want to bury myself in this woman.
I want to tell her what she’s doing to me, but I don’t want to ruin the friendship we’ve started.
I’m finding her laughter intoxicating like a siren’s song.
I think she’s not only beautiful, but seriously hot.
I find her scent intoxicating.
I have yet to discover any serious flaws in her.
I’m not sure how I feel about Shae anymore… it’s just pain. I can’t even feel regret for not trying harder.
I’m scared."
~ Silas Tayte

I LOVED this one even more then the first one if that is possible and here is why.

We get to know Silas so much more , but we also get to see more of Ben, Jade, And then Isi.

The banter back and forth Between Ben, Jade, Silas is still there nice and strong and funny as all Hell. They truly are a Bunch of taco's "The association of orphans and castoffs.” I was literally laughing out loud. Thanksgiving dinner Put me over the edge on the laughter meter for sure.

The Love that Silas and Isi develop from what started as friendship is so over powering . I thought the connection between Ben and jade in Book one was Big , theirs is so much stronger, Like they literally think things for each other . watching these two grow as a couple and still battle real life problems was amazing. They truly are MADE for each other.

Although they develop feelings for each other and start as friends and develop into a relationship , it definitely is not an easy road for them. They get caught up in a bad situation and Silas is struggling very hard to try to Protect Isi and make sure nothing happens to her or him.

Silas Is going to Break , he wants nothing more then to protect Isi and he feels like he can't do what needs to be done to protect her. Me heart Just Broke for them BOTH in this situation.

The climax at the end well Damn , what Can I say I knew something was coming down the road but I was NOT expecting the end to Leave me hanging like it did. I mean I know things will work out Because Ms. Copp loves HEA's BUT I am DYING to know how things work out. I need to Know what happens to Poor Silas , How can ya leave us hanging like that. I NEED book #3 NOW , not later lol.

So yeahh definitely ADD this to your TBR list but if your not a fan of Killer cliffhangers By all means wait for book 3 or you will be screaming like I am wanting it NOW.......

Fake was a book I was highly anticipating and Copp did not disappoint. I liked Silas in Pretty Pill but Fake threw me head over heels in love with him. Seriously, I wanted to pluck him out of my kindle. What caught me the most about Silas was vulnerability. There are several scenes were his fear of ascending and becoming manic are so tangible I even felt overwhelmed. The first glimpse is in the prologue and I, like Isi, was totally caught up in Silas's pain and fear. Having Silas's perspective allows the reader to understand first hand his struggle with bipolar disorder. Reading about his manic episode from his eyes was fascinating and saddening. I couldn't help smiling that Silas named his hallucinatory entity Logan! He would make something ugly and destructive into something more comical and less scary.

Isi was an awesome love interest. She's overcoming her demons and insecurities as well. Her personality was much softer than Jade's but she held her own in the novel. I do hope that in the next book she comes out a bit stronger in voice. I really wanted to get to know her better but I felt her perspective was not as strongly written as Silas and her struggles were glossed over. It did not stop me from liking her character but I guess I wanted to know and love Isi as much as I did Silas so I am hoping for more of what makes Isi, Isi in the third book. I am a huge fan of character development and Fake was all about these two characters growing individually and together.

Loved their romance. It started with an amazing friendship, considering how hard it is for both characters to open up to people and let them into their space or bubble, and blossomed into this sincere love. I loved Silas's introspective moment regarding Shae & Isi, and that he did not want to rush his feelings with Isi. He wanted to think and make sure. I've read a lot of New Adult fiction from dual perspective and I have to say I've never read the male perspective about his love interest in the way Copp portrayed it. It was refreshing, mature and beautiful. Thank you for giving us a male protagonist that thinks about more than his instrument down south!

If I was waiting anxiously for Fake, I am dying for Resilient. How can you do this to me!?!?!? Please, please, please Silas and Isi just can't take anymore thrown their way! They are already broken characters trying to put the pieces together. After that ending I am almost afraid they might be broken for good....I really hope Resilient comes out by summer because I can't take an ending like this.

Editing was spot on! The writing was well done and tight. A few vocabulary errors (heel v. heal/ site v. sight), but nothing distracting.

Having enjoyed the initial installment in this series, A Pretty Pill, and already being in love with Silas I was excited to read this story and it did not disappoint. The book is quite a dark and intense read as it deals with mental health issues but it does so in a sensitive and moving manner.

The story centres around wannabe UFC fighter Silas, his break up with girlfiend Shea and the impact this has on his bi-polar and his relationship with Isobelle, an ex army medic who having served 2 tours in Afghanistan is dealing with her own issues, those being PTSD after significant injury and the breakdown of her relationship with her parents.

The romance between Silas and Isobelle is sweet, romantic but seriously steams up when they take things to the next level. Despite the age difference between the, (6years) they are a perfect match and really bring out the best in each other. I want me a Silas!

I loved the relationship Silas has with his sister Jade and her fiance Ben. It reminded me so much of my own relationship I have with my siblings, definatley love/hate but so heavily skewered towards the love. The banter between them was often times hilarious. It was nice to be updated on Ben and Jades relationship after having them be the focus of A Pretty Pill.

Dr.Jensen is a great side character and her warmth just radiated from the page. Ethan (a dodgy nurse at Silas' mental health facility) is just a hideous creature that gave me shivers whenever he appeared.

I would recommend this read to anyone and everyone and think it deals with some important issues. Will definatley be reading the final installment when it comes out in December.

good read.

Problem some of you may have: The H is bipolar, so a good majority of the book, the people around him are worried about him. Also, even though his girlfriend is being threatened, a lot of the attention is focused on him instead of her, even though she's the target. H is not very emotionally strong or independent, kind of selfish but in a im-really-scared-for-you-so-im-going-to-act-out-because-i-don't-know-how-else-to-express kind of way, ya know?

Problem I have: Isa is American yet she says certain words that Americans don't say. It always throws me off when American characters speak the same way that British/Australians do, because it's just not realistic.

DISCLAIMER: All of this is just MY opinion.

Are you kidding me?!? How could it end right there?!? How can I possibly wait to find out what happens next??? The ultimate cliffie! I just love Silas. I have to admit that it took me awhile to warm up to him and Isi just because I was used to Shae, but I really like them together. They are definitely there for each other and they both love each other unconditionally. I love Ben, Jade & Reynolds (haha) too. I was a little surprised at the storyline - I wasn't expecting the angle the book went, but it was definitely intense. I was hoping Silas would be fighting a little more in the book though.

First let me just say the Epilogue is the mother of all cliffhangers!

Okay so this series is growing on me. I was pretty fed up with Jade's flighty personality in the first book and that there was so much build up. I liked this book more because from the beginning they owned each other and there was no arguing or self depracation about it. Also, I know this was about Silas and Isobelle but damn Ben grew on me! He is AMAZING! I hope the third book is alternating POV between Silas and Ben! How awesome would that be?

I read this book a couple days ago and am still thinking about it. It was so intense, super sexy, and emotional with ridiculously funny parts. I was laughing so hard during their Thanksgiving scene, my husband thought I was on the phone because of my hysterics. It is a 5 star book with a helluva cliffhanger.
