Special Agent Rachel Kegan of the Intergalactic Department of Justice is sent on an undercover assignment. She must pose as a fighter for the Galactic Cage Fighters Association, GCFA, in order to investigate the disappearances of several human women. In the midst of all the blood and broken bones common in this sport, she finds herself attracted to a half-human, half-alien fighter with an inner beast—literally.
Rage the Animal is angry that a pure human female has been hired to travel on the GCFA tour circuit. No matter what he says or does, or how hard he tries to intimidate the little human, she refuses to quit. Normally he could ignore the human, but something about her stirs his inner beast and leaves the man—unable to resist.
This eBook contains sexually explicit scenes, adult language, and violence that may be considered offensive to some readers.

4 1/2 stars this is a great short read for anyone who likes crazy possessive heroes(which I love). Rachael is undercover posing as the first human fighter in the GCFA, searching for information about the missing woman who were all last seen in the fighting circuit. Rage is the male champion fighter of the GCFA and all the woman want him. While posing as a fighter Rachael and Rage start a relationship but Rachael is torn knowing she is not being honest with Rage and knowing that she needs to find the missing woman. As their relationship continues The truth comes out and the villains make themselves known now its Rachaell's job to bring them down and save the woman missing and it's Rages job to keep Rachael safe. I loved Rage he is has crazy possessive(like I said before) he claimed Rachael and wouldn't let her go, he got jealous anytime a male got by her even his friends he repeatedly said mine whenever he was with Rachael. I can't wait for book two but I love that our characters got there hea and that book two will be about another hero and heroine.
futuristic sci fi erotic romance that will appeal to both men and women. Involves a futuristic MMA fighting club premise. Action/adventure/suspense.
While I enjoyed this book and have already purchased the second installment I do thin it could have been better. More depth in the back stories and a bit more unexpectness in the action adventure parts. Best way I can describe y feeling is that most scenes had the best case scenario play out. Would have liked to have experienced more darkness....
Adult content scenes also could have been more.... The supposed sexual tension between the two MC didn't give me the shivers and satisfying ahhhhhhh reaction that I like in my alpha aliens.
I don't get why this book has such glowing reviews. The writing was poor. Dialog between characters was stilted. While she did spring for an editor, per the credit at the end, it was poorly edited. Character names were switched at various points which should have been an easy catch. The romance was flat and the love scenes didn't have enough heat to make up for any of it. Not even worth a free read much less $5. Save your money and skip this author entirely.
When I read about this book being about cage fighting I wasn't so sure it would be something I would like. I like alien romance but wasn't sure how violent it would be. This book was fabulous. I enjoyed the fighting and sparring and the romance was HOT, HOT, HOT. Love when a couple are combustible. The plot was interesting too. Well worth reading.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters were interesting and I can't wait to continue reading the series. I love the world the author created. The plot was fast paced and the romance was smoking hot. I definitely recommend this book if you are into sci-fi romance.
I really liked this story and how it was written. I liked this author and her voice, it's easy to read.
It was also cook that the heroine was a touch chick. She took a ton of hits and kept getting back up. Impressive. Her guy, Rage, was sweet. Didn't really have the "I'm a bad ass - do as I say" kind of personality. Which was a nice change.
Very lacklustre story with okay (not good or great) writing.
Rage could have been a lot more Alpha. I liked that he was so possessive but I suppose I’m used to reading possessive men who are also quite domineering and alpha.
Rage and Rachel.....loved the way this story unfolds....the fighting rings...their development of a intense relationship...I can’t wait to read the rest...
Mixed martial arts, splicing human and alien DNA add intergalactic agents, and you are in for one heck of a romantic interlude in the sizzling fantasy world created by KD Jones. Ms. Jones introduces her readers to this world with her book Rage, in her Galactic Cage Fighter series. There are so many elements within the storyline vying for your attention it allows your imagination to run wild with each turn of the page. I was so enamored with the characters, that I reread the first few chapters to give myself a better visual picture of each one of them. The author painted an image with her words of the various races of aliens, intermixed with humans that was mind blowing and brilliant at the same time. Rage and Rachael's journey to love and happiness, begins when she is sent to locate the culprits that have kidnapped several human woman.
Special Agent Rachael Kegan works for the Intergalactic Department of Justice and she has been chosen to go undercover to help locate and apprehend the villains responsible for kidnapping the missing women. When she passes the test and becomes the first pure human on the circuit, sparks fly between her and the infamous Rage the animal. He is the current reigning champion of the GCFA, the largest sport-fighting promotion company in the universe. His mother was pure human and his father was a beastial alien. He like many other "halfsie" do not trust humans and want nothing to do with them. When his inner beast lays eyes on the beautiful human, it instantly views her as "mine" and thus the games begin between our couple.
Fast, action-packed and full of tantalizing snippets, this story will keep you attentive and wanting more and more. KD Jones' unique characters will enthrall and capture your imagination in their unique world and have you desiring the next installment immediately. Fantastic addition to anyone's library and I highly recommend it for all the sci-fi romantics out there.
I'm going to try to review this even though I'm pretty much exhausted from work, but if I don't do it now I'll read something else and forget all about it.
I have been apprehensive about books that feature professional wrestlers, fighters, bikers, and all that kind of stuff because it just totally is not of interest to me. However, this book was great, and I would actually read more of the series if it weren't for some other stuff.
+ The hero is possessive... yum + The hero is a beast in the sheets... literally. :3 + No real other-woman drama, just a few hints here and there that were meaningless + Capable heroine + Friendly other female characters (seriously, when was the last time I've seen that?) + Reasonable communication between characters, instead of stupid "misunderstandings"
- h saw H with two other women just the other night and she jumps straight into bed with him? Without talking about it and still being jealous? Uh, that makes you a doormat. - H doesn't know what h did with his friend in their bedroom, but later everyone can "smell" H's semen on h.... uh..... - Everything just worked out a little too easily. In the description "battling an inner beast" is mentioned, but in fact that is completely absent from the book. There is no struggle between man and beast. I was hoping to see some angst or something, or maybe some "will this human woman accept me as a half-beast?" kind of stuff... no such thing. They fell into bed together, were honest to each other, and the drama came mostly from secondary characters and the kidnap plot. :/
KD Jones is a new Author to me. I was told she was great! She is actually phenomenal!
I actually bought this story in the Holiday Fever Collection. And found KD Jones story Rage to be fast paced and intense. Although it is a short story and I would have loved a longer version, It is a very good read. You have a story with pure humans, pure aliens and halfsies a mixture of human and alien DNA...
Rage is book one out of nine of the Intergalactic Cage Fighters Series and introduces us to Rage The Animal an all Alpha halfsie and the reigning Galactic Cage Fighters Association champion and Special Rachael Kegan a pure human working undercover for the Intergalactic Department of Justice, looking for the missing human women taken for the black market.
Ms Jones has created immensely lovable characters with strong passions and beliefs. And her universe is full of secondary characters just waiting to pop out in their own stories. I would highly recommend this book to all who enjoy paranormal, alien, and other sci-fi like genres! 5 Stars all the way from me.
I really, really enjoyed it.... But after reading most of the Prime Series I knew I would ;)
I really, really enjoyed reading this, but after reading most of the Prime Series I knew I would, with out a couple of books left to read in the Prime series and not wanting to finish them yet I thought I'd try this series and I'm glad I did Rage and Rachel were fun to watch/read and I always love to watch a "Man-whore" type go from sleeping with every female he can find to one woman he can't get enough of and the whole mate/MINE! Mentality ;) Can't wait for the next book for poor sweet tortured Talon to get his Lindy back.... I also love how the group are like a family with each other ;)
I liked it....didn't love it but I like it. It was fast-paced, with a strong h and a possessive alpha H. The sexual tension between them is instantaneous. Sex scenes were good. The epilogue left me wanting but it was a good lead into the secondary characters books.
I would read the next in the series only because: 1)I need more about the H and h life together 2)I liked Talon (one of the secondary characters)as much as I liked the main characters and I would like for him to have a HEA 3)If the price was reduced, since I'm on the borderline about this series I am not willing to invest as much.
Maybe 3.5 stars. This book had an interesting premise with an undercover female cage fighter and overall I liked it. The length was a bit short for my taste so I wasn't entirely feeling the love between Rachel and Rage, but my biggest bugbear was the changes in POVs/head hopping. Sometimes I had to reread the paragraph to figure out whose POV it was - and the next paragraph it had changed back. Some author's do this seamlessly (like Nora Roberts/JD Robb or Suzanne Brockmann) but this wasn't and it brought me out of the story to figure it out.
Having said that I look forward to reading more of the series and getting to know the characters.
When I came across this book I had not heard of the author but I'm really glad I did. This is not my typical read but I'm really glad I decided to read it because it was different and I loved it! I love a strong, possessive alpha male and that was definately Rage. Rachel, a stong human female who cares about others and has a giant soft spot for Rage. They started off a bit wobbly but soon got there and they had a strong chemistry and it was put across well. I loved the concept of this story and all characters. I'm really looking forward to book 2!
Good story although a little predictable. I liked Rachel but she did have a tendency to be very blaise and arrogant when it came to needing to know things for her mission and dismissing what people who had experienced the situation she was going into, said, thinking she knew better - a bit annoying for an undercover operative. Rage was great, loved his internalising and the way he went out of his way to help Rachel. The other characters were fleshed out enough to make them interesting as well - don't know if I'd read more though.
I really liked the story and the setting but as I feared, it was too quick, too short to truly develop the characters, the universe around, specially with so many different galaxies and species. It could have been amazing !! As it is, nearly 30% are just sex scenes, the rest is about fighting and a short part is about the actual story. Which is resolved a bit to quickly and too easily for my taste.
Great story. Special agent Rachel Kegan goes undercover as a Galactic Cage fighter. She is trying to solve a case of missing young women. While training and preparing for her fights she meets Rage. The connection between them is instantaneous. And neither one can fight it. Sex scenes are hot and steamy and very enjoyable :-). A bit of suspence and drama just finishes the book off nicely. Definitely will read book 2.
I one clicked this one after reading an excerpt in an FB party. Wasn't sure if it was my kind of story when I read the blurb. I was so wrong. Great storyline that pulled me in and kept me reading (finished in one sitting). Loved the characters and can't wait to pick the rest in the series up. So glad I discovered this series and author!
I had a lot of fun with this one. Cage fighting Science Fiction Erotic Romance. It wasn't great. Very little world building and the hero went from distrusting humans to being all over the heroine.
But it was quick and light and I will likely read the rest of the series.
The writing is a bit simplistic and the editing is odd, jumping from one scene to another without any indication. But I still really enjoyed it. Totally bloodthirsty and sexy. Nice little quickie indulgence.
Not my cup of tea. I don't like where women fight and get beaten up bloody. maybe I am too old school, but I do not like violence like this. I will read the next book as I purchased book 2 as well, but may not carry on with this series.
