Even if he weren’t the lead singer of the popular college band, Luminescent Juliet, Justin Noel would have his pick of women. And he does pick. Nightly. Tattooed, blonde, and green eyed, he flashes his dimples and females swoon.

Except for one.

Tattoo artist, Allie Landon, rarely dates, and especially not men like Justin. Though he’s hot enough to melt off permanent ink, she’s done with the bad boy type. But when the ex who broke her heart wants to reunite, desperation has Allie introducing her latest client as her boyfriend. Justin’s more than happy to play the part. He’s completely intrigued by the sexy artist and college student.

However, Allie’s life isn’t what it seems. There’s little room in it or her shattered and confused heart for Justin. But as Justin remains persistent, ignoring the growing attraction—both physical and emotionally—between them becomes more difficult than tattoo removal.

Books are my first love, but my second love is music. When a book is able to combine both these things for me, it's always a winner. Add into that mix a sexy, tattooed and dimpled hero, a great heroine, a story that sucks you in from the beginning and you got the recipe for the perfect book for me. Well, maybe not quite perfect, but it was pretty damn close. Plus any book that features some of my favorite songs is great.

A steamy and angsty New Adult novel that I loved from beginning to end.

Justin Noel is the lead singer of a college band, Luminiscent Juliet.

He's gorgeous, tatted, dimpled and rich. He's also cocky womanizer who makes no qualms about the fact, but he does have some limits...
I have standards." I raise one finger. "They have to be hot." I raise another finger. "They can't be wasted." I don't take advantage of the incoherent. "And they can't be a bitch."

Can't really blame the guy for his ways. Women pretty much jump at the mere chance to wash his laundry or do his homework. He seems to very content in how his life is going, until a chance meeting at a tattoo parlor throws his life for a loop.

Charlee is not interested in dating, especially another cocky bad boy, even if he does come in a sexy as sin package. She's content with her life the way she is, all she wants her focus on is her tattoo shop and her art.

But life rarely goes according to plan, and when the ex that shattered her heart comes back into her life unexpectedly, Justin presents too much of a tempting opportunity. Desperate times force Allie to pretend that her latest client is her latest boyfriend. But what happens when something that's pretend starts turning into something that's very real?

I'm a sucker for a sexy rock star, and an even bigger sucker for an angsty rock star romance. There was no insta love (thank God), but there was a whole lot of lust. The sexual tension between Allie and Justin was so thick, you could feel it coming from the pages. I loved watching the sexy bad boy fall more and more for the reserved tattoo artist, Allie.

Allie was hesitant to jump into another relationship, and understandably so given what she'd been through.

I'd rather let my idle lady parts dry up to dust then deal with another rampage on my heart.

Her ex really did a number on her, and as sexy as Justin is and as hard as he tries to show her his different side, she can't help but notice the harem that constantly follows him around. But little by little, Justin begins to weave his way into her heart with his music and wooing.

I really enjoyed this book. Of course there were times where I wanted to throttle Allie for the way she treated Justin. Justin pretty much wore his heart on his sleeve with her, and the dates he took her on were so incredibly sweet. But with more and more of Allie's past being revealed, I grew to understand her reasons for being as gun shy and reserved as she was. What I liked the most was that I had a constant song list playing through my head as I was reading this. Jean Haus managed to include some of my favorite songs in the story, and they were a wonderful addition.

While all the supporting characters sparked an interest, Gabe took center stage for me. I love a broken man with a dark and turbulent past. So obviously I cannot wait to get my hands on his book.

If you're a fan of angsty and steamy New Adult books, you definitely want to check out Ink My Heart. (It can be easily read as a standalone.)

Ink My Heart is a nice, funny and extremely pleasurable follow up to In The Band. I’m a sucker for a great rock star romances and there is literally nothing in this world that can make me stop reading about bad boys and singers with tattoos. Call me crazy, but I looove to dream about having my own rocker.

img

I just adore when books I read are exceptional intertwine of emotions, music and sweet, sweet love. I simply breathed this book. I was astonished of how easily this college romance took me on crazy ride, that left me breathless and extremely giddy.

img

Ink my Heart is Justin’s story. He’s the singer of Luminescent Juliet and stereotypical man whore. But when he meets the sexy, fierce tattoo artist Allie, his life changes. Something inside him clicks and for the first time in his life, Justin craves only one woman. Instantly she was ‘it’ for him.

Allie isn’t easily sweep away from her feet. Life thought her to protect her heart and giving it away to bad boy rocker isn’t exactly wise idea. She’s more than reluctant to take another chance in love. Her heart was once broken.

img

I devoured this delicious novel in few hours, and I'm still smiling over some of the scenes involving Justin’s sexy ways. The pacing in Ink my Heart was just right and all the other issues surrounding both characters were not that farfetched, which made me fall in love with Justin and Allie even more.

Overall, Ink my Heart is sexy, pleasureable, full of angst and great between the sheets action and I highly recommend picking it up for every fan of music filled, sensual stories with nice, romantic plot and tats! It’s another rock star romance that gave me big, nice fix of my rocker addiction.

Maybe I'm being a bit harsh with books nowadays but this book bordered average-DNF.

Justin is your average bad boy, tattoo, dimples, blonde, lead singer of a band, has regular one night stands. He walks into a tattoo parlour and meets our heroine, the tattoo artist, Allie.

I gave this a 3 star because the characters didn't really stand out to me but we did get dual POV. Romance was nice, there was dating and texting. Storyline was average, little drama, low angst and so overall just okay!

I almost dnf this half a dozen times but I did get to the end. If you like the first book, enjoy rocker new adult it is worth a go and can be read as a standalone.

CANTTT WAIT!!!!

I really want to see Justin redeem himself. Because in In the Band he was just an Idiot which happened to be good lookin' and loves alot of sleepovers. (if you get what i mean)

I was laughing right along with Riley (In the Band) when he tries to come on to her in the car. With a ridiculously cheesy pick-up line :D

What a douche... but you cannot help but have a soft patch in your heart dedicated to the handsome beast. <3

Oh MY GODD!! New information... its COMING OUT ON MY BIRTHDAY!!! the best birthday present EVER guys ;D *hint hint*

4 hearts for heat

Ok I really loved In the Band. It was sweet at times sexy but really emotional. Ink My Heart was all that and more! These might be young adult characters (20 and 22) but they have lived major adult experiences. Allie and Justin had very different childhoods but they both had so much pain and lonliness in their past. Justin was the typical man whore and bad boy. Being in a band and the front man at that had girls throwing themselves at him. He had girls for everything, laundry and homework even. That all changed when Allie came busting into his life.

“I’m not the driven type. I’m more the laid-back type who wants to enjoy life.” His gaze wanders over my face. “But you make me want to be ambitious, to catch the stars on a starry night and pull them down for you.”

Allie was strong and loving even after having dealt such low blows by life and love before Justin. It took a lot on his part to make her feel better about herself and especially after her jerk ex tore her self esteem down. Justin saw no flaws and only saw beauty and showed her all the time how he felt.

“Listen to me. You’re beautiful to me. Every single part. Any tiny flaw you have because you carried a baby is beautiful too.”

So many obstacles tried to keep these two apart but in the end they fought for each other and I rooted for them the whole time. It was interesting to see the connections with the other band members and friends. I had so many parts highlighed in this book that I didn't even want it to end.
When Allie fell she fell so hard and her love just lept from the pages.

Love was totally knew for Justin but he had such a big heart that he felt it down to his soul when he fell hard for Allie.

The heat in this book was a lot hotter than the first and it might not be descriptive but the emotions made you feel the scenes in a way that left you breathless.
I enjoyed this sweet sexy love story so much and was so pleasantly surprised to have found this amazing author. I will definitely be following her future work and consider myself a fan from here on out.

Ink My Heart is book two in the Luminescent Juliet series and is a New Adult Contemporary Romance written by Jean Haus. I received this eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review through AToMR Tours .

4 Rock My Heart Stars!
Bad Boy Gets A Taste of the Good Life and Responsible Girl Gets a Taste of Letting Go!

The Review:
Luminescent Juliet... You Rock My Soul!!

A friend recommended In the Band (Luminescent Juliet #1), to me a while back and I absolutely loved it! So when Ink My Heart came up for review, I was all over it!! Trust me when I say I was not disappointed. This book was real! It was angsty! It was filled with life and love and had a powerful story. I loved this read!

Story...
Justin Noel doesn’t have much direction in life. He’s a twenty year old guy who loves to party, hook up with a different girl at every show and have fun. He sings in an indie band called Luminescent Juliet but doesn’t take it too seriously. He goes to college but never does his own homework or laundry as he has groupies do it for him. He lives off the allowance his absentee, affluent parents send him but who needs them anyhow? He doesn’t like emotions nor does he want any emotional attachments. His life is carefree if a bit empty, but he prefers it that way. Emotions only get in the way and make him think too much. Right?

One night after playing a gig, he walks into a new tattoo parlor to check out the scene and after hearing the sexy voice of the gorgeous owner, his life slowly gets turned upside down. Little by little, the boy who used to care about nothing suddenly turns into a man who cares a lot.

Quote Spotlight...
Until I met her, I’d been a shallow, immature self-centered boy. She’s unknowingly made me a man.

Allie Landon is twenty-two and has too much responsibility for her age. She has heartbreak in her past and obligation in her present. Its complicated and tough but she pulls through by being the best she can, taking on the responsibilities given to her and working hard. She goes to college, taking business classes as a backup plan incase her inking parlor doesn’t succeed. The last thing she needs is a relationship, especially with someone who knows nothing about hardships and responsibilities. So when carefree Justin walks into her parlor, though he may be exceptionally hot, he’s not for her. But as he inserts himself into her life, she realizes maybe its time to open her heart again.

Quote Spotlight...
I realize he had caught me. And despite all the responsibilities on my shoulders and reservations in my heart, it feels right. More than I ever thought possible, I want to be caught.

Thoughts...
I enjoyed this read so much! The story was fantastic and I just loved the characters.

Justin might have been carefree but he was avoiding all those responsibilities because with that comes emotions which is something he steers clear of. He doesn't like to sit still because it gives him to much time to think... and see how lonely he really is. He’s never been showered with feelings, love or hugs so encountering those things or seeing someone else experiencing those things confuses him. When Allie presents a challenge and a willingness to walk away, which is something he’s never experience from a girl in the past, he can’t help but want to go after her. She’s not like the other girls. She doesn’t party, she has goals and she has shadowed eyes that haunt him. Justin has to learn to deal with emotions he’s never experienced before. Love, concern for another, jealousy, wanting a girl to trust him, wanting a girl past a one night stand. This is all new to him.

Justin knows that being fake with Allie won't work, so when he starts to be real with her, she can see past that partying guy to the inner Justin who’s beautiful and caring and worth the risk. But she’s had so much heartbreak in the past, she has a hard time letting go of all that pain. She has some pretty big life responsibilities too and with all that responsibility comes stress that needs an outlet. Allie has to learn to trust again after betrayal and heartbreak which she struggles with as her past and future collide.

I find a fierce female lead to be the best kind of reads and Allie being independent, beautiful and responsible just endeared her to me more. She put her responsibilities first even though it made her a bit uptight. She spoke to me on a personal level because I’ve been in her position. I had similar things going on in my life at her age and the fact she wasn’t out partying and she put her family first made her a class act!

Lyrical Spotlight...
Fell into her a million miles an hour
Again
But the needle dropped
Inked my heart and scarred my skin

Watching these two come together, slowly, really made me love them more. So many times a romance will have their characters hook up right from the start, but with these two, they took their time, reluctantly getting to know one another a little and finding more than just lust in common.

Dont get me wrong, they were still hot together. Their chemistry was perfect. They were perfect.

And the ending... oh wow! I actually got a little teary eyed there for a minute. I really loved the ending!

Wish List...
We get to see a little of Riley and Romeo from book one in this book. Riley gets some one on one time with Justin to dish out some sage advice, which I loved. That girl went through a lot in book one and its was good to see her and Romeo “after the story”. My only wish is I wanted to see more! Yes, I'm stingy. But I REALLY loved book one and their story was so freaking sweet! Romeo was a bit of an uptight in book one, but this book, wow, dude needed to take a chill pill. He was “scolding children” but thats how they were acting. No one was really getting along. I hope by the end of the last book in this series, the band has become stable. They bicker a lot and I'm hoping its just because they aren’t living their HEA’s yet. They do seem to have each others backs when things get tough though, which was hot! ;)

The Wrap Up:
I fell in love with the men in this group while reading In the Band, which was so much fun with its angsty characters and beautiful story. This book is a fantastic second book in the series and I can’t wait for book three. I'm not sure who its going to be about, Sam or Gage, I’m thinking Gage, but either way, I can’t wait!

I kind of coasted through the beginning of this story. We already know Justin from the first book and I just don't find players all that interesting. And Allie didn't really thrill me, either. I can see the appeal of tattoos and even see the art, but the rest of the body altering thing goes completely by me. Since she owns a tattoo shop, many of the side characters have rings and studs and <shudder> gauges. I'll never in a million years understand the appeal of ear gauges.

So yeah, old man moment with generational cross-talk going on.

Still, Haus is good enough that I never actually disengaged. Allie's situation with her ex and Justin being so very out of his depth finding a girl he's actually interested in for more than just sex was enough to keep me going. And then, about a third of the way in, something interesting happened.

First, we found out that the author cheated. Holding the revelation that is a huge cheat in a book that includes chapters from her perspective. It was a cheap shot, but it was an interesting development, as well. Since that aspect hadn't been important to the story, really, I was able to get past the disappointment that the author cheated and move right into speculation of what it'd mean for the characters. Because it was a life-changer and complicated everything.

Seeing Justin struggle with not only learning to care about someone besides himself, but also seeing the dawning realization that he'd have to grow up fast if he was going to be who Allie needed him to be became more than simply fascinating. It became a character-driven exploration of love, protection, and sacrifice that drew me in completely.

The book cracked along spankingly from there and I devoured it pretty eagerly. The emotional payoff at the end was dimmed only slightly from the over-the-top villain and I finished with a deeply satisfying catharsis. Surprisingly, I actually believe Justin and Allie have formed a lasting relationship and the foundation for something great—and I almost didn't believe that could be done given how very immature he had been to start.

So yeah, it was a yawning three stars until the third mark where it started tilting towards 4. I could sense that rounding would be involved during that last third, but the emotional payoff was so solid that it ends up an unashamed four stars. I'm impressed Haus pulled it off with characters I didn't really care for to start and in a milieu I didn't really care about (with the body art and all, I mean).

A note about Steamy: I expected this one to be much steamier than it turned out to be (though that shouldn't be a surprise given the low steam in the first book). It's also on the low side of my tolerance scale with a single lightly-described explicit scene. There are references to Justin's past, but they aren't terribly graphic, either.

I could have done without the almost insta-love but the book was still a very enjoyable read.

"I want you more than bacon, and that's alot, you know, because bacon is really, really good."

Allie is unsure of her relationship with playboy Justin due to threats from psycho ex Trevor who keeps wanting to get back together with her...

Even though Justin has a playboy outside he has a good heart and it just waiting for the right girl who happens to be Allie.

"Just always be waiting for me."
"Forever."

I love how Jean Haus incorporates some awesome songs into the books too.

The few things I did not care for were the ever annoying gray eyes, "Holy shit, Batmans" which are equivalent to "Sweet baby Jesus!" and the fact that Allie was so badass but really insecure too...

"Love isn't fear. It's courage"

The good: A nice, decent read!

My thoughts: Over all, I really liked this book. I love books that intertwine music, awesome heroines, and tattoos as the main elements in the story.

Coming into this, I thought that all I was going to see was:
1) this cocky, womanizing playboy who gorges himself on loose women
2) falls in love with the main girl at "first sight"
3) then his groupies start showing up and start being an issue
4) drama and lots of push and pull
5) and then happily ever after

BUT, for once I was wrong and was pleasantly surprised with the direction of this story!...

I thought that the characterizations of Justin and Allie were a complete joy and was practically rooting for them the entire way!

Justin is such a lovable character could have any woman he wants. But because this is a book with romance as one of the key factors, this is not the case as he only wants Allie after he sees her at her tattoo shop and falls hard and fast for her.

Allie, with all the crap she's been through within her young 21 years is a strong female heroine that I could admire. She never annoyed me once throughout the entire time of the story and was utterly practical, real, and totally understandable to relate to. This girl just needs a break in life and some joy.

SO, MY VERDICT: A MUST read if you happened to like the first book, In the Band!! I enjoyed every minute from start to finish and I hope that you do too!

"Just always be waiting for me."

The sting of the needle and the bold statement of the ink on my skin has become addicting.

I can honestly say that this book was not what I expected! I guess I expected cocky bad boy rocker trying to tame the hard nosed tattoo artist and really it wasn't that at all, it was soooo much more!

Even though Justin was a hottie, tattooed, bad boy rocker, I could tell from the moment he met Allie that she was going to be it for him. He wasn't cocky and mean he was just very, very persistent and he fell hard, fast!

Allie did too, but was more reluctant to take a chance with her heart on known bad boy Justin. She has way to much on her plate to risk her heart on a one night stand, no matter how smokin' hot he is! So Allie reluctantly agrees to design and ink a fantastic tattoo on Justin's back, now if she can just get though the tattoo sessions without doing anything foolish.(Yeah, good luck with that!)

Justin and Allie work hard at getting it together with some real obstacles but you can't help but totally root for them and their HEA! Justin is a super sweetheart and Allie is a wonderful girl who has lived way to much for her 21 years and deserves some real happiness.

Love isn't fear. It's courage. Courage to trust, courage to give, courage to fight.

I simply adored this book and this couple. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the band. By this I mean the way the band members interact with each other. They almost behave as though they can't stand each other. I found it kind of strange, but that is my only real complaint, everything else about this story was wonderful!!

My beautiful Justin & Allie in all of their glorious ink and piercings....

So…after meeting Justin in In the Band, I wasn’t sure what to think of him. He had some pretty cheesy pick up lines. As it turns out, all of Justin’s ‘cheesiness’ is tossed out the window when he falls head over heels for Allie.

As the singer of a popular local rock band, Justin has his pick of chicks. And he takes advantage of it, but the loneliness never seems to leave him. It’s not until he meets Allie that he realizes what he’s been longing for. I just love the way Jean Huas writes her men. They’re sweet and romantic without losing their masculinity.

It was so much fun watching Justin’s feelings for Allie develop. Everything he was feeling for her was a first for him, and he was so willing to go with it even though it scared him. His character grew so much through this book–from a young man who had no responsibilities to a man who came to terms with the road his life was on and wanted responsibilities. He wanted his life to change, but he didn’t wait for it to happen. He made it happen.

I really liked Allie. She was dependable and likable and unlike most of the other women in Justin’s life, she wasn’t an easy conquest. Allie was still recovering from a broken relationship, and given Justin’s reputation, she was hesitant to jump into anything with him. It doesn’t take Allie long to realize that there’s more to Justin than reputation. Allie’s character grew a lot in this book, too. She changed from being guarded to a woman willing to follow her heart and take chances, and I loved watching it all unfold.

This book was steamy. I loved Justin and Allie’s chemistry. There’s a scene where he’s singing and their eyes lock and…yeah. You need to read it for yourself.

I thought the character development in this book was fantastic, and I love how everything happens a believable pace–in this story and the previous one, In the Band. Highly recommended if you are looking for a steamy read with likable characters willing to take chances!

So I was definitely thrown for a loop when

Anyway, this was fine overall. There's a bit of college life, which I appreciated, and I generally liked the cast of characters. I'm not sure if I'll read the rest of the series, but more because life is short than anything else.

DNF right after the art show/fake date.

There may be some spoilers below.

This book is a BIG it is me and may work for you. I may have quit too early to find out the real story about the ex, but I feel that the author then should have given me a better idea about what was going on with the ex than make me assume there was pining type behavior at the art show.

I originally thought that the heroine was over her EX but the whole scene at and after art show turned me off from the book. After the art show, the heroine, Allie, explains to the hero, Justine, that her ex left her after he cheated on her with a bunch of girls and especially this girl, Jazz. The ex brought Jazz to the art show and heroine seemed upset and started using Justine. It almost felt the heroine was pining for the ex and I hate pining. There is probably more to the story like her ex abused her, blah, blah, blah, but the author should have given me the heroine's POV or some explanation QUICKLY about her behavior during the art show and not just Justine's so I would not think less of her. When the heroine was explaining how her ex alway cheated on her and sighed when she said "and he always back to Jazz" I was done. Obviously she was not over it whatever there was.

I liked the first book in the series and was happy/excited to start the second, but this book lost me.

I loved Justin so much. What a great guy. Aside from his fuckboy days that he left behind, I really don't see anything wrong with him.
I loved how he navigated unknown waters. And I think Allie was perfect for him.
Really enjoyed this book.

"Sometimes I'm not sure who I am." He kisses me so softly I lean forward, hoping for another touch of his lips. "Except when I'm with you , pretty Allie."

If you've ever followed my reviews you would know that I love Jean Haus. She's one author that no matter what she wrote, I would read it. In fact I'm a bit of a fangirl for her books and tend to get all gushy about her writing and her characters. But, I said to myself... try to tone down the gushing a little bit this time around. So that's what I planned to do. Yeah, but then I read the book and I may have to get just a little gushy.

Justin has a revolving door for all the girls he's been with. Being the lead singer in Luminescent Juliet allows him to have his pick of woman. One girl for tonight and a new one for tomorrow night. And that's just how he likes it. Until the night he enters the tattoo parlour Dragonfly Ink and meets tattoo artist Allie. She's going to change his world.

description

Books that contain music and tattooed guys are a sure fire weakness for me. I could devour them one after the other and I don't think I would ever get sick of them. Add in a 'bad boy' who falls hard and I'm pretty much in book heaven. So Ink My Heart was almost a winner before I even opened the book. It was sure ticking all the right boxes on the surface. So, my expectations were incredibly high being as how I have adored everything else I've read by Jean Haus, she really needed to nail the storyline and bring Justin into my heart. And she did it perfectly.

When I read book one in this series I can't say that I was feeling Justin too much. I was completely and utterly in love with Romeo. But I always love when an author can take that so-so feeling you have for a character and make you fall hard. And just like Justin did for Allie, I fell hard for him and his story. He has been using woman for a long time. Using them to fill a void. A huge gaping void that his parents created. He's confident and he's cocky and he's been able to charm the pants off any woman he wants. He's not looking to be any more or any better than what he is. He has woman and he has his music and the adoration of the adoring fans.

"Love isn't fear. It's courage. Courage to trust, courage to give, courage to fight. Be fearless and fight for this girl.

Use your love to be courageous."

description

Aliie's not looking for a relationship. Her life is full of responsibilities. But she can't get past the fact that Justin is hot and she may just be completely in lust with him. Her friends and coworkers tell her to have fun. It's been such a long time since she's done that. Allie and Justin are as opposite as two people could get in their lives when they meet. But dig a little deeper and these two have so much more in common than first glance. Both are carrying around pain. Both aren't really looking for a serious relationship. But try telling that to your heart. It wants what it wants.

"What else about her has you so hooked?'

I don't know. She -- when we're together, there's no bullshit between us. She makes me feel real. I haven't felt real in a long time."

Told from the point of view of both Allie and Justin, so that at the end of the book, I felt like I knew them both really well. The build up of their feelings and the way they dealt with them was perfect. I loved that Justin knew fairly early on that Allie was special and once he was in, he was all in. Completely smitten and not afraid to show her and tell her. He fell quickly and he fell hard. Allie wasn't so quick to jump all the way in, but then she is the one that has so much going on in her life. And her past is about to impact on their lives.

There were a few little snippets into Sam and Gabe's lives and I want their stories so bad. Poor, poor Gabe. Please tell me that we are going to get to know them better?

So another flawless read from Jean Haus. What I love most about her contemporary books is that she creates these characters that are real. They could be somebody that you or I know. They could be dealing with issues that you're helping your best friend deal with. When you are able to relate to a character on that very basic level, then you can't help but love the story. The only real complaint that I have is that she can't possibly write fast enough to fulfil my needs for more of her books, but it sure does guarantee the maximum level of excitement each time I hear that she's releasing something new.

I don't know what it is about them, but I seriously have a thing for rock gods. They are so frikkin' sexy. Especially when they do their thing on stage. Mmmmmm - I'm totally drawn to to all those rocker books. So, when some of my most favorite book descriptors are all lumped together - new adult, lead singer, tattooed - I'm in like Flynn. It's always a plus when the book is also good.

Justin is the lead singer of Michigan rock band Luminescent Juliet. He's also a total man-whore who uses women and ditches them as fast as he can. Justin really is not a very nice guy. Then, in search of something new and exciting, he randomly steps into a tattoo shop and meets Allie. She fascinates him in ways no woman ever has. Only problem is, she has no interest in getting to know him. The challenge is on as Justin tries to break down her walls, but when he does, he may not like what he finds.

Justin is a pretty bad guy. He has casual sex very, very often. He uses girls to do his homework and his laundry. Other than being super hot and having a good singing voice, Justin didn't have a ton of redeeming qualities. I loved watching the transformation that comes over him once he meets Allie. What I liked most about it was that it wasn't an instantaneous thing. Like, you meet eyes with the girl who is your soul mate and birds sing, the sun comes out and rainbows and unicorns fly out of your butt. Your life is changed in an instant. I call bullshit.

Change of that magnitude takes awhile. And, it took awhile for Justin to get there. He still likes it when girls do his chores and his homework. He prefers a lack of responsibility. And Allie REQUIRES responsibility in the guys she dates. Since she has a 5-year-old son from a previous relationship. Once Justin finds out about that little bump on his yellow brick road, he has to start readjusting his way of thinking.

Allie is a toughie. Her ex-husband Trevor is a class-A jerkface, so to protect her heart and her son, she's not dated much. She's very guarded and super cautious. Not a very fun or carefree life for a 22-year-old. But, she is a mother and owns a tattoo shop, so in her mind, those come first. She certainly wasn't prepared for the whirlwind that is Justin.

Justin and Allie are a great couple. I'm so glad that their romance was a slow burn. So many times in new adult books, couples hook up fast and hot. And, it doesn't happen that way for Justin and Allie. The hesitation and the stop and start for these two drew me through the book, just waiting for that epiphany moment on both sides. When it comes - gosh, is it satisfying.

The music aspect is, of course, awesome. There's lots of time spent with Justin and his band as they play in clubs and practices. There's one thing that I did feel was missing from Ink My Heart, and that is the unique relationship that band mates have with each other. Honestly, the members of Luminescent Juliet seem like they kinda hate each other. They're always fighting and arguing. It's amazing they come together on stage as well as they do. I missed the BFF part of the band members.

While not particularly steamy, Ink My Heart was sweet and tender and exciting at times. I'm really looking forward to the other band mates' stories (Gabe!).

Jean Haus has done it again. This is another great book in the Luminescent Juliet series. Although it is the second book in the series, you wouldn't have had to read the first one to read this one. But I recommend you do because the first book entitled "In The Band" was another 5 star read for me.

In case you couldn't tell from all the band/music innuendos, this series centers around a band called Luminescent Juliet. It is a band of college age guys, each one different in the own unique way. This story is Justin's. He is a total rich kid without a care in the world. He is the good looking lead singer for the band. Rich, hot and lead singer of a poplar band makes it easy for Justin to get anything he wants. Girls throw themselves at him, he has girls doing his homework, his laundry, you name it.

All that changes when he ends up in a local tattoo shop which Allie Landon own and is an artist at. Without even seeing her, he is infatuated with her. Allie's voice has made Justin instantly intrigued. When Allie comes out to meet with him about a tattoo, he in instantly drawn to her. She is beautiful, tattooed, pierced and don't fall for his charm. Allie is not like the rest of the girls who he is used to. She is smart, she owns the tattoos shop and goes to college. Allie seems to have it all together. This might just be what Justin needs.

Just when he think he might not have a chance with her, Allie's ex shows up to at the shop. Without thinking Allie grabs Justin and pretends they are a couple. Allie is praying Justin goes along with her charade. When Justin catches on to what is happening, he happily goes along, hoping this turns into more than just a game. Justin and Allie spend another date pretending to be a couple, when in reality Justin can see himself as a real couple . Allie is a little more reluctant because she knows all about Justin's womanizing ways.

Justin sets out to show Allie he can change. There is something about her that makes him want to change and be someone Allie can take seriously. Allie is cautious of Justin and who wouldn't be? He has a know history of one night stands. Beyond Justin's history, Allie has something more important than he heart to protect. She has a 5 year old son. Justin is shocked when he learns about her son. Especially since he did not find out about him from Allie. Can Justin be the man Allie needs and not the boy he is known to be?

This was a truly amazing story about how Justin grows and matures but also about Allie. She is a strong character who seems to be wise beyond her years. She is an awesome example of what mom should be. I absolutely adored this story. I did not want it to end. The only thing that keeps me going in knowing that the are other guys in the band that most likely will have their own books. I can't wait for the other books. Jean Haus is one of my favorite New Adult authors.

Hot, sweet, and emotionally charged, Ink My Heart was a fantastic New Adult romance. I really enjoyed reading this wonderful book. From the romance, to the very many secrets, this book was great.

Allie was a strong heroine. She had been through a lot and her life was not like the usual college student. I really liked her. She was independent, tough, and intensely loyal and protective of her loved ones. My one complaint is that she insisted on dealing with her ex alone when it came to the important things, rather than trusting Justin to help her out. That became frustrating because it led to a lot of heartache. But, since I did understand why she acted that way, it wasn't a huge bother. Other than that minor complaint, I thought she was lovely.

Justin was also wonderful. He started off as a careless playboy that had no intention of actually growing up and being an adult. He liked his carefree life, hooking up with any girl and spending his parents' money. But, even then, he was a charming heartbreaker. Over the course of the book, though, he grew up. He knew that being with Allie came with more responsibility than dating any other girl, so he grew up to be what she needed. I thought that was really sweet. He was wonderful, sweet, charming, and devoted to those he loved. I absolutely loved him.

The romance was lovely. Allie and Justin were adorable together. They had very different lives, but they still found a way to be together. It was very sweet. The heat factor was mostly present in the intense attraction between them, though there was a scene that really turned up the heat. The chemistry between them was constant. I thought they were a great couple.

The plot was fast paced. I was hooked the entire way through. There were a few secrets in Allie's past that took me by surprise. I really enjoyed the story and I thought the ending was perfect. Though I did wonder how things went for Allie's douchebag of an ex and if he managed to get his act together.

Ink My Heart was a fantastic New Adult read. It had romance, secrets, and tons of emotional charge. I really enjoyed reading it. Lovers of New Adult romance, especially that rock star variety, this is a book you'll want to check out.

I have been anxiously waiting for this book. Hootie and I both loved the first book in the series IN THE BAND. Huge concert whore that I am, I can't resist a good book about musicians. You meet Justin in the first book. He's the lead singer of the band Luminescent Juliet with a reputation of being a womanizer, no surprise there. He's just looking for a new distraction (hot piece of ass) when he finds Allie. Allie is a tattoo artist and part owner of Dragonfly Ink. Justin is interested as soon as he hears her low husky voice. Too bad for him she's emotionally unavailable.

It's been two years since Allie's divorce. She still suffers from the scars of her broken heart. She's determined to resist Justin's charms. Justin's not willing to give up on his advances so when her ex strolls back into town, Justin is more than willing to stand in as Allie's new (pretend) love interest. Allie never expected to connect with or have anything in common with Justin. He constantly surprises her with his emotional depth and honesty. Justin's feelings quickly run deeper than he knew he was capable of. You sense that Allie is keeping something big from Justin. Yeah, i'm not gonna tell you what it is.

Justin really dug himself deep into my heart. With parents that have always been extremely selfish and neglectful, Justin is really just a lonely boy. He opens his heart and falls hard for Allie without question of her past. But her ex Trevor has come to make trouble. Allie pushes Justin away to protect whats most important in her life from Trevor. It was painful to read as Justin's heart is broken. Justin comes to his senses just in time and refuses to let Allie go without a fight. Ink My Heart is a must read and I highly recommend you read In The Band as well. Both books can be read as a stand alone but some of the characters do crossover.

I should note that this is book 2 in the series, but I haven't read book 1. A lot of times even if book 2 is supposed to be a stand alone, you feel like you're missing something about the characters. That is NOT true with this book at all. You can definitely read this as a stand alone and not feel like there should be more. Although, now that I know there is another book, I'm off to get it.

There's one word I would use to describe Justin, a member of Luminescent Juliet... persistent. Allie made it more than clear that she didn't date clients, but he kept trying to find ways to see her again. One day, he finally got lucky. He happened to be in the shop when Allie's ex showed up and Allie's desperate enough to show him she has moved on that she pretends that Justin is her new boyfriend.

The two of them are like night and day. Justin is carefree, doesn't seem to take anything seriously. He flirts with freshmen to get them to do everything including his homework and even his laundry. Although he's in college, he seems to be in it more for the girls and the parties. Allie, on the other had, has more responsibilities than a girl her age. Many people depend on her since she's the co-owner of the tattoo shop.

I really enjoyed watching them make each other better people. Justin became more responsible (since the freshmen weren't getting the attention they did before, they quit doing his dirty work so he had to do that himself). Allie took more time to relax and enjoy life.

This was a great love story. I enjoyed every moment of it.

I adore Jean Haus and I couldn't wait for this book. After In The Band I was so curious about Justin with his quirks and shallow ways.

All Justin seems to care about is having a good time with no responsibilities.

For Allie she has too many responsibilities and no time for fun.

One fateful day Justin walks into Allie's world and his life is shifted on its' axis.

For the first time Justin wants more than a good time but getting through Allie and her baggage is going to be tough.

For the first time Allie wants to be careless and just go with it but Justin has other plans.

Once Justin and Allie meet each other half way the fun and trying times begins.

Good things don't always come easy but are worth fighting for.

Jean Haus has such a gift at capturing your emotions into the story with a nice balance of spice and drama.

This is such a great story and series. I can't wait to find out more with the Luminescent Juliets.

Awesome!! Emotional & riveting!! Highly recommend

This story is a terrific read-about caring that struggles thru life's troubles but grows into the soul mate loving. Justin-a college student who lives in a dorm comes from a rich family that doesn't want to spend time with him but gives him money, cars etc as long as he stays out of trouble-he has always felt lost & lonely and uses his one night stand hook-ups to feel. He's the lead singer for his band who plays at local venues that is also cutting an album with songs the group writes.
He goes into a tattoo shop to hit on the hot girl he sees in the window when he hears another girls voice-she speaks with a soft, sexy voice and she is smoking hot. He is hooked as soon as he meets her!! She likes him too, realizing he is hot too. But Allie has a lot going on in her life, and doesn't think she has time for fun let alone a relationship. Allie has a five year old son who is the light of her life, an ex who's back in town and insisting the get back together or else he will take her to court for custody, he finally reveals his anger and Allie realizes he's on hard core drugs; instead of turning to Justin who she cares deeply for, she asks him for time to think. But Justin is persistant, and wins her time-after 6 days apart he pursues her. They both admit they love the other, while life is sometimes messy they agree to work it out. This is a wonderful love story full of life's little insecurities, exciting and riveting. Excellent story and a new author for me to follow.

The first half is better than the second.
I wasn't keen on reading Justin's story but I like Jean Haus' style. Justin is ridiculously juvenile but there's something about him that pulls on my heart strings. He's a poor little rich kid with neglectful parents. I kind of like his weird mix of grungy rock star and sophisticated world-traveled wine snob.
He's crazy about Allie as soon as he meets her and I had to smile as his reformation began.

Allie - “Ah, I don’t date potential inkees.”
“I’m not a customer…yet, but a drink doesn’t mean a date. People do go out to converse—don’t they?”
“Maybe I don’t drink.”
“Coffee then?”
“Caffeine is the world’s most addicting drug.”
I’m getting desperate here. “Milk shakes?”

Allie is a tattoo artist. She has a lot on her plate and I do love her secret. The author just smacks you with it so casually.

I have to admit I got a little bored after Allie and Justin reconcile their differences and date for real. They don't get sappy, it's just that the pace starts to meander.

Romeo is still a really big ass. I thought he'd loosen up after finding his HEA with Riley but he's such a dick!

Sexual Content: More than the first book. Justin and Allie get it on in graphic detail.

Justin Noel is never lacking for female attention, especially as the lead singer of Luminescent Juliet which has women willing to do just about anything to get a chance to be in his bed. He has a few standards, but generally anyone will do. Until he walks into a tattoo shop co-owned by Allie Landon. It is not just her voice or beauty, he can't get Allie out of his mind. Justin tried his usual dazzle but Allie did not fall for it and when he sees Allie in a vulnerable moment, he realizes she is worth doing something he has never done before. Take the time to get to know the one women who is quickly burrowing her way into his thoughts.

Seductive, sensual, and so good. If you like a book with a bad boy who seems to be unchangeable, until he falls hard, this is the book for you. Had three of my favorite plots, tattoos, bad boys, and rock star. First time new author for me and I was thrilled with this story, look forward to reading more fro Jean Haus.

so adorable!
I have to say that I love book 1 a little more, but that's probably bc it was the first and featured a kick-ass female drummer! aweseome!
but, i totally loved justin in book 1 and was so happy he was getting his own.
i love it when the player is knocked off his playboy ways by the girl not even looking to do it. yes, i know, not the first book to do it, but if i still loved it, that's saying something, right? hell yeah it is!
there were totally a few moments i didnt expect, some plot points i didnt see coming, and the drama was just perfect - not too much and not too over the top.
the dynamic between the guys didnt change, but we got to see a different side of justin, and that was amazeballs.
loved it :)

I really enjoyed this story. I have been so tired of 'love at first sight' romances where basically either the hero or heroine end up looking like stalkers. Both parties agree this is lust at first sight and have to move past a whole lot of baggage to find each other. It was well written and a 'can't put it down' read. I'll be looking for the other's in this series.

I didn't read the first book in this series but this one sounded interesting. Really liked the story and the build up of these 2 characters. Allie is a tattoo artist and Justin is the singer in a local college band. I really liked their story and how their relationship progressed. I felt like things were not rushed and happened nicely and I enjoyed seeing how Justin changed his ways. Didn't want to put it down.
