Prince Daric Carvillius is the twelve hundred year old Prince of the Vampire Healers, the most powerful being on earth, and very accustomed to getting his own way in every situation. When one of his healers, Liam, finds his mate after an entire millennium had passed without one healer mating, Daric is hopeful that the Carvillius Curse is finally broken; the results of a mistake he made a thousand years ago finally righted, allowing healers to find their mates. The only vampire healer he doesn’t want to see mated is himself, positive that the last thing he wants is a female he has to protect in addition to babysitting his unruly lot of vampire healers. But Daric has a destiny to fulfill, and his fate crashes into his life, literally, one snowy night in Colorado when he rescues a female human, Hannah Temple, from a blizzard.
Hannah Temple has returned to her small town after eight years in Vail, her ex-boyfriend having dumped her after a tragic accident that has left her unable to ski or even walk without a limp. Still reeling from the sudden loss of her father from a fatal heart attack, she tries to put her life back together after a year of loss and pain. Running the small pizzeria her father had left her, she feels compelled to make a delivery that is probably unwise, but important to keeping the business of Daric Carvillius, the most mysterious and notorious resident in the small mountain town.
Sparks fly when Hannah and Daric meet, and danger lingers in the background from the fallen that are eager to get to the mate of a vampire prince. Can these two lonely, lost souls who were meant to be together actually mate and find a happily ever after? Find out in the final book of The Vampire Coalition, Daric’s Mate!
Note: This book is not intended for YA readers. The book contains graphic language, explicit sex and other material not suitable for YA readers. As noted above, this is an erotic romance

Scott writes both contemporary erotic romance stories and paranormal romance erotics. They almost always feature an Alpha Male and have a happily ever after because she just can't seem to write them any other way! She lives in the beautiful Rocky Mountains with her husband and two very spoiled German Shepherds.
This was the best of all in the series. The books just grew and grew with intensity as the series progressed. I really enjoyed this whole series. Well worth reading.
This was a good story Daric the prince of the vampire healer's thought that he would never find a mate in fact he never wanted one after what his brother's mate did to him. Hannah was having a bad day a bad year her father died of a heart attack while she was recovering from a skiing injury and her boyfriend at the time broke up with her. Hannah was working in the pizza parlor that she inherited from her father on a night when their was a snow storm when she gets a call from one of their best customer's willing to pay 500.00 dollars extra for a large delivery because he hated to feed from people at first Hannah thought it was a joke when she realized that it wasn't she agreed to deliver the food. Daric heard a crash and realized that the person delivering his food crashed and that she was hurt, he knew he needed to help her so he fed from her and he didn't get sick, he realized that she was his mate. This was a good story the end of this series and it was the best one. Hannah was insecure and unsure of herself and Daric felt as though he wasn't worthy of having a mate and he really didn't want one after what his brother went through he also felt that his father didn't love him and Hannah wasn't sure that he loved her until she was in danger and risked his own life for her. What I loved about this book was Daric had given up hope for himself and not others. He believed he was undeserving. Daric found someone who understood exactly how he felt and could relate and therefore being able to move forward on faith in one another. This was a good series.
Prince Daric Carvillius is a twelve hundred year old vampire healer, the most powerful being on earth. He had long ago given up the idea of finding his destined mate. Daric thought that he would never find a mate in fact he never wanted one after what his brother's mate did to him. Hannah father dies, her ex has dumped her and suddenly she's all alone. They need one another to find healing and love. The only thing I didn't like is the same feel to each 5 stories.
Prince Daric Carvillius is a twelve hundred year old vampire healer, the most powerful being on earth. He had long ago given up the idea of finding his destined mate. He's not even sure he would want to, he has spent so long alone. At home Daric is hungry, the fact that he hasn't taken blood for a while, when he knows he should, but he finds the act distasteful. He decides to try an appease his desire for blood by ordering food from the pizza place in town.
Hannah Temple has recently returned home after she had an accident which left her with a limp, then she was dumped by her boyfriend. Her father who owned and ran the pizza shop, had died after suffering a heart attack. Now their best customer Daric Carvillius is on the phone wanting an order delivered, despite the bad storm Hannah cannot afford to lose her best customer. So she makes the delivery herself, but she crashes the car. Luckily for her Daric has come to the rescue. But he is weaker due to not having taken blood. As Hannah is unconscious he makes the decision to take Hannah's blood in order to regain his strength to heal her. But the minute he does, he realises she's his destined mate.
I have loved this series, and this story completes it perfectly. Once again a really detailed packed tale, that is hot and sexy. With fabulous characters that are easy to like. ARC provided by the author.
I think this is my favorite story in this series. Daric is a leader in a lot of pain from his father and brother dieing. He believes he is at fault and can't seem to get past it. When he meets his mate and his heart is once more engaged, his life gets crazy fast. It is so fun to watch him discover the truth and take his rightful place as King of the healers.
I recommend this story and series NOTE: This story stands on it's own, however is greatly enhanced when series is read in order.
Fun fast read. If you end alpha vampires this is the read for you. Darica and Hannah take you on a wild ride. Lots of action to keep you turning the pages.
This book was so freaking amazing! Perfect! Perfect characters, perfect storyline! I couldn't put it down. The best out of all 5 books. I am ready for more!
J. S. Scott is an awesome writer/author and one of my favorites. I love her books and I read them all as I can get them. There is no doubting why she is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author of steamy romance. She knows how to write her books where she grabs your interest at the beginning of the book and you don't put it down till the end of the book. "Daric's Mate" is the last of the Vampire Coalition. If you haven't read the first 4 read them and you will enjoy Daric's book that much more.
Prince of the Vampire Healers, Prince Daric Carvillius is the twelve hundred years old. He is considered the most powerful being on earth, and with that being said, he is very accustomed to getting his own way. Daric is in high hopes that the Carvillius Curse is broken when Liam, one of his vampire healers, finds his mate after a thousand years. This gives him hope that the mistake he made a thousand years ago has been rectified and that all vampire healers can now find their mates. Daric doesn't want a mate for himself because he believes that a mate would be too much trouble and he had enough trouble with his healers. Daric is out of luck because his destiny is about the to crash into his life in the form of a human woman, Hannah Temple. A bad blizzard causes her to lose control of vehicle crashing her delivery truck on Daric's property.
After being away in Vail wasting her life on her ex boyfriend that dumped her after a ski accident left her with a limp Hannah Temple returns home to run the pizzeria her father left her when he passed away. After being promised a large amount to deliver pizza to her best customer Daric Carvillius, she feels compelled to make a delivery that is probably dangerous, but she feels it is important to keep his business, even if he is the most evasive and notorious resident in the small mountain town.
When Hannah and Daric meet sparks begin to fly even with danger lingering in the background from the fallen that are eager to get to the mate of a vampire prince. Can Daric and Hannah actually mate and find a happily ever after?
No spoilers. A must read! You will not be disappointed!!!!!!
I loved this book couldn't put it down. Daric Carvillius is the prince of the vampire healers and he feels very fatigue because he needs to feed, but he hates taking blood from the humans. Daric calls Temple's Pizza and puts in a huge order so being the only one there Hannah Temple had decided to deliver the food herself, but when she arrived her truck slipps and crashes on a tree. Daric hears the crash and goes to help her, but since he is weak he takes blood from her to help him heal and by doing so he knows the truth about Hanna. Daric explaines who he is and what he is, but Hannah doesn't believe him. Since Daric didn't want a mate he had the obtion to reject her, but he seemed to have trouble saying the wards because he felt possessive of her and only wanted to protect her. Since the accident Hannah is living with Daric because he doesn't want her to leave he wants her close to protect her, but one day when he was still asleep she left to work and left the restaurant late and on her way to her truck she is attacked by many fallen. When Daric wakes and realised what is happening to her he wants to kill the fallen so he summones his sword. After the fight with the fallen ended Daric's father appeared to him and explained why he had gone crazy before he died and also that now Daric is King and Hanna would be Queen after they mate.
This review is from: DARIC'S MATE (Book Five: The Vampire Coalition) (Kindle Edition) I like Daric's Mate book 5 but didn't love it. I Expected more from the story since Daric Carvillius is the Prince of the Vampire Healers. The beginning of the story moves a little bit slow. Hannah in the beginning of the story is not very inspiring as the heroines in the other books. I got sick of hearing about her ex boyfriend.
However! the end of story is very good and picks up pace, it's too bad this couldn't have happen through out the story. Daric has been steadfast in not excepting his title as King, but in the end their is a big surprise and Daric excepts the responsibility as King. I am still on the fence about the way Hannah was written. She is not a bad heroine. She was just boring especially being mated to a Prince/King. I like Hannah as a person she just was not a special as the other women written in the previous 4 stories. I highly recommend you by this series in the box set and I know these characters will find a special place in your heart. I really hope we get more books in The Vampire Coalition/Healer series.
Daric's story was absolutely enthralling. His personality was just...so different, which I found quite refreshing. I also found it amusing that Daric didn't even want a mate...until he found one. This series is funny in that the males always make fun of other mated males because of how they act and then they learn that they will act just as crazy. It's highly amusing.
Hannah was great as well. She was the perfect mate for Daric's arrogant butt. He has definitely found is match in her (he needs a good challenge). She and Daric really needed each other, so I'm glad they could find solace in each other.
I was so happy to Liam and his brother's return in this book! I love their teasing and also their love and devotion for each other.
I hate that this book is the final book in the series, but I'm glad that the story ended on such a strong note.
Prince Daric Carvillius a vampire healer, the most powerful being on earth. He had long ago given up the idea of finding his destined mate. He doesn't like the idea of taking blood from humans finding it repulsive and distasteful. Try's to satisfy his desire by ordering food. One this night it's pizza and allot if it. Hannah Temple inherits the only pizza place in town. Decides to deliver pizza to Daric in a blizzard instead of losing her best customer. And this is where the love story begins. He realizes that she's his destined to be his mate. I love this book the most outbid this series. Read the series. You won't be disappointed.
I LOVE THIS SERIES IT WAS JUST SO FANTASTIC~! Daric, oh my god, he may be fictional but he's freaking hot and so caring, like you have to love him~! He's a beautiful caveman! And Hannah, oh she's down right awesome! You have to love all the characters in this story, it's just too amazing~! I think Nathan's Mate and Daric's mate covers are the best...maybe Daric's is hotter, I mean look at those abs and those pecs...oh I just want to run my hands all over them ;) Don't you want to grope the guy in the cover too? Haha I really love this series :D
Wow it's so hard to pick a favorite story in this series. Every story just got better. Characters were so well developed very interesting and likeable. The banter was funny and engaging. Daric turned out to be so much more then an arrogant prince. He truly cared about his people. Hannah was trying hard to not give up and to become something she could be proud of. These two could not have been a better match.
At first I felt sad when he said that he is going to renounce Hannah as his mate.. But when he said that he couldn't because he was already love her that was the sweeting thing even tho he was just an arrogant vampire healer☺. It was also so sweet how he come to her reacuse her from the fallen that caring that he will have backlash when he kills. Like I said on all my reviews I love this books☺

A Steamy Short Story About An Obsessive Alpha Vampire And His Mate. Comes With A Small Dose Of Danger And A Sense Of Family.
This is book five in The Vampire Coalition series. Each of the five books in the series is a short story, roughly forty to eighty pages long. These erotic quick reads pair paranormal and steamy scenes into a series of interconnected stories. It is best when these are read in order. There is a twenty-two page prelude to the series, The Rough Mating of a Vampire. That is Adare Connor and Kristin Sparks’ story and it introduces the mating ceremony. It is not necessary to have read that first, though Adare and Kristen are sometimes mentioned in this series and participate in some events.
In this world, vampires lack souls. They are born male, and the only way to attain their soul is to find their human-born soul-bonded mate. The human is born with a genetic mutation to allow for the mating. The female guards her mate’s soul, carrying both her own and her mate’s. During a mating ceremony, in which their identifying marks touch, the female transfers her mate’s soul. Until recently, no vampire had been bonded to his mate past the age of one hundred fifty. The urge to mate dissipates following a vampire’s one hundredth year. The female only survives until age thirty. If she has not found and bonded with her mate, she will die along with the soul of her intended mate.
Vampires live a lonely life unless they find their soul-bonded mate. Their lives include stealth and magic. They feed on blood, but their victims’ memories are wiped of the feeding, as humans are not yet ready to accept the existence of vampires. Vampire code dictates that vampires are not to kill at will, only to take blood as needed. The fallen are those vampires that have succumbed to feeding frenzies. Once that has happened, there is no going back. They must be destroyed for breaking the code.
Healers are a subspecies of vampire. Their work is demanding and drains their energy. They hate taking blood and typically postpone feeding as long as possible, but they need it to keep up their energy. Vampires eat human food as well, but that is mostly for entertainment – or in the case of a healer, avoidance. It takes a little more work for a healer to find his mate, but what is meant to be will be. Healers always have the option of refusing a mate if they find the idea bothersome. They aren’t called by their mates or ruled by the same immediate obsessive tendencies of regular vampires. For them, the need develops only after an intimate act takes place between the mates.
Books one through four are about the Hale brothers – Nathan, Ethan, Rory, and Liam. They are a couple centuries older than Adare Connor had been when he mated with Kristin Sparks. They are resigned to the existence of those vampires who fail to find their mates. Though lonely, the desire to be with a woman intimately leaves after just one century, so they devote themselves to hunting down the fallen of their kind. Their parents had fallen victim to the fallen, so it is personal to them. The Hale brothers live in the Denver area. Book five is about Daric, a vampire prince.
IN DARIC’S MATE, BOOK FIVE:
Daric Carvillius, Prince of the Vampire Healers, is the last of the royal family that leads the healers of their kind. Healers are more powerful than other vampires, and as royalty, Daric is the most powerful of all. At twelve hundred years old, he has lived a long life. He had finally crossed the line when he interfered with Liam and his mate Regan, but he doesn’t care. His healers are not happy, and that none have been allowed a mate in a millennium has taken its toll on them all. Daric spends all his hours babysitting his healers rather than doing meaningful work. And although Daric doesn’t remember any reason that would make him want to take a mate for himself, he knows how hard his healers work for their kind and believes they deserve to have mates if they so choose.
Hannah Temple, twenty-seven, has been back in Temple, Colorado – a small mountain town named after her ancestors – for eight months now. So much had happened in the last year that she struggles to get her head around it all. After investing eight years into a relationship with Mark, with whom she had grown up, it had finally come to an end. She hadn’t realized until it was too late that it was a one-way relationship. But after the accident left her with a limp, Hannah no longer fit conveniently in Mark’s life. And worse, she lost her father soon after. So now she is back home and running Temple’s Pizza, the company that passed on to her from her father. Nothing is the same with him gone and she struggles to keep the business thriving while she learns the ins and outs of running it on her own.
One pizza delivery to Mr. Carvillius, the town’s wealthy and mysterious resident, forces Hannah and Daric together for the first time. Daric may not want a mate, but things get complicated once he finds her. Their story brings the Hales and others together in a grand finale.
This steamy short story about obsessive an alpha vampire and his mate has a small dose of danger and a sense of family. The story is nicely written and plot-driven. It is written in third person. The POV alternates between the vampire and his mate. I rate this book four stars.
YAY! I got to see what happened with Daric. I was hoping for dramatic and it certainly had a flair of that. It was a great novel. I quite enjoyed Hannah but would of loved it more if Hannah's ex came into the picture and made Daric jealous.
This final book was the best book of the series. I loved that she was an every day person and he had to woo her in order for her to fall in love. The ending of the series was wonderful. It made me cry. Definitely a series worth the read.
Can't believe I just found this book re-read the others and thought he would be so nice to read Daric's story and there it was just as good as the others in the series. Loved Hannah and it was good to see the Hale brothers and Adare.
This is a series I am sad to see end, I loved every book but hated how short they were. I found myself wanting to be with daric just to be cared for as she was.
