Another enjoyable mystery with one of my fave sleuthing couples who should be an official couple (at least I think so, lol) This was a good story for Halloween season with its ghostly sounds coming from a house the murdered man was trying to sell and no Halloween season’s complete without a pumpkin festival and Bixby’s special pumpkin spice coffee blend. I wasn’t sure I’d like that woman named Mona who came into the coffee shop early in the book, but at the end she proved she was really there for what she’d claimed. Don’t wanna give anything away 😉
The showdown was a good one and I’d never been completely sure about whodunit. I loved what Belle grabbed to use as a weapon too! The ending was awesome and showed Belle what a real family can be like and I think she’s promised herself she’ll have that someday.

Pumpkin Spice Murder took the town of Everly in a different direction for Belle Baron and Lucas and Lexie Graystone when Jeremiah Fisher was murdered after a Graystone Estates Open House. Because his family business was involved, Lucas as a detective was not allowed to investigate the murder and Mona, a new detective in town, was assigned to the case.
But Belle tried to help solve the murder anyway to help Lucas and he also tried to solve it while also working on a burglary case he was assigned to instead.
How they figured out that Lucas’ father Phil Graystone was not the murderer and who solved the murder, Mona or Lucas and Belle, and when and where, is what you’ll find out when you read this intriguing book.

Belle inherited a coffee shop from her deceased Aunt Eliza and also inherited her very talkative Amazon parrot. Belle and her policeman friend Lucas found a body in a house for sale. The deceased was a realestate person in Lucas’s fathers office so he was taken off the case. The number one suspect was his father so Lucas and Belle try to find the killer. Kept you in suspense right up to the very end. Very good read.

Belle, when helping her friend Lucas, stumble with him upon dead body. She is trying to help with investigations by questioning suspects and other people in her town. She is a bit funny but also a caring person who is taking her responsibilities seriously. Lucas was taken off the case because his father was engaged in it and a detective from outside was hired. Would they be able to work together? Check in this easy to read book.

Book 1/40
I was excited to read this considering it has great ratings, however, I really struggled to get into it. I felt like there were so many characters I couldn't keep up. It was a chore to read this and finish it. It was my first book of my #fortybooksforfortyyears challenge and I didn't really enjoy it. Disappointment 😞
