Immortal Healer

Rate this book
Abigail Danner is the victim Dr. Quentin Bremmer never forgot. Held captive and abused by a monster for years, it is only a chance encounter with Quentin that finally sets her free.

But then she disappears…

Though she is out of sight, Quentin can’t get her out of mind, and it isn’t until she is found sitting in a jail cell months later that Quentin finally gets the chance to help the beautiful, frightened woman he’d met.

But captivity comes with a price…

The frightened young victim has turned into a hyper-vigilant fighter who can’t seem to let her guard down—or stop being arrested on one assault charge after another. And her most recent charge promises to derail her future even further.

Her life is spiraling out of control…

But Quentin is incapable of walking away from her, saddling himself with the beautiful spitfire whose distrust in men promises to be a challenge. Her criminal record is an issue, her irrational need to defend herself against anything she perceives as a threat is another, but there are worse things than even that lurking in her future.

She really is the unluckiest woman in the world…

Can Quentin gain her trust in time to help her overcome her obstacles and finally find the life she was always meant to have, or is the deck simply stacked too high?

She's back! Did you hear me? Elizabeth Finn is back! I was really beginning to think her paranormal series was just not for me, but Quentin and Abigail's story brought all the things that I love about Elizabeth Finn's writing to the paranormal genre! Yay! Are you sure there's only three in the paranormal romance series? Because I feel like we're just getting started!

Abby was abused by Mason (Ember's captor) for years and finally managed to escape thanks to Quentin and Truman, but recovering from a monster the world doesn't believe exists is hard to do. Quentin was never able to forget Abby after seeing her that night at Mason's, but when he finally finds her she's neck-deep in trouble with the law and looking at prison time for her most recent assault charge.

Quentin decides to help Abby since she never would have been in this position if it weren't for the worst of his kind destroying her emotional stability. He takes her in, nurses her back to health, and helps her with her legal troubles. The only problem? Even as she struggles to trust a man, and a vampire no less, who clearly has her best interests at heart; she still can't let go of her fears of the men who would rape and torture her if they had the chance. And even when she faces her biggest fears, a new problem arises that threatens her very existence. Quentin may be her best option at a future, but even he has his doubts he can help her fight her newest obstacle.

I loved every aspect of this story. From the very first page I could feel Abby's emotions, her terrifying situation, and her understandable trauma from her captivity. Quentin was true and solid, loyal and consistent from book 1 to now and I loved seeing him fall hard when a woman finally got under his skin. I even loved getting to be re-introduced to Ember and seeing her from a different perspective. IMMORTAL HEALER was a fantastic end to this series and I couldn't be happier about the way things turned out for the final couple in The Immortals series.

"Only doctor I know who doesn't use a stethoscope."

"I can hear every beat your heart takes... Including the nervous fluttering when my leg was up against yours. There's little you can hide from me."
Can Quentin be my doctor? PLEASE.

I loved Immortal Healer so much, you guys. The combination of sexy and drama was perfect. Elizabeth Finn does it again. Man, I love all of her books! Her characters rock. Hard.

Quentin is so bland and boring on the outside. Abigail doesn't know what to expect from him. She definitely didn't plan on him being so incredibly YUMMY, that's for sure. They are very different, but there's an undeniable connection they cannot ignore. And why should they? I say go for it.

There's lots of emotion and heart in this story. If you're like me, you want everything to workout just so. Things are more than a little complicated and the challenges keep on coming. Through it all, a love so deep blooms and blossoms. I gladly soaked up every minute of it. And hot? HELLO, YES! Scorching HOT. Rawr!

I'm gonna need another Elizabeth Finn book ASAP.

A doctor and a criminal make quite the pairing. Immortal Healer is the third installment of The Immortals series. As Dr. Quentin Bremmer's story starts to unfold, Ms. Finn adds fuel the notion 'it's always the quiet ones...'.

Quentin, the lovable introvert, is driven by his work, his research and prefers to simply stay to himself. Even though he's very close to his friends, Ember especially, he's simply a man who likes to be alone with his thoughts. One of those thoughts being of a young woman that he ran into ( literally) the night Mason met his end. He's never forgotten her even though he made sure that she had no memory of him. When she lands herself in a jail cell (again), Quentin sees it as an opportunity to right the wrong that came down hard on this young woman who initially had a bright future ahead of her.

Abigail, aka Abby, is a beautiful young girl whose life has been tuned upside down. She has endured more trauma in the past few months than any one person should ever have to deal with in an entire lifetime. She's broken and scarred and the constant living in fear has turned her into an 'act now, think later' kind of girl. She's creating quite the lengthy criminal record for herself, it's one assault after another. It just happens...

Immortal Healer is a fantastic addition to this already amazing, all consuming series. Ms. Finn is quite the talent, being able to balance sensitive subjects without making light of it. Abby is neither mentally nor emotionally stable. The author doesn't just cure her cause a hot guy looks her way. Abby struggles throughout, she has created an alternate world for herself, a normal one, her 'happy place' where she is normal, living the typical everyday. She manages the best she can but it isn't an 'overnight' fix and she has even more to overcome, more than she knows.

The same goes for Quentin. This is a paranormal romance yet at the same time, he's still a doctor and has her best interests at heart regardless of the 'pull'. I think it's that steady balance that was maintained throughout that helped create such an emotion, gripping story that I couldn't tear away from. There was no ' broken girl meets perfect man, all is fixed via a little slap and tickle'. However, speaking of...

Immortal Healer is also an erotic romance. The sex scenes are raw, emotional, primal and possibly a tad taboo for some. That being said, WOW. These vamps are passionate, no cold bloods here! Why not 5 stars? I devoured this book. I mean I literally could not put it down. Without spoiling...there is a turn of events, a reveal that leads Quentin and Abby to his beach house for some much needed away time. It made perfect sense as far as the story line goes but it almost felt as though it went on a little longer than needed. I loved the pacing of this story right up until then, all of a sudden it slowed down. The same happened with a pool scene as well. Ms. Finn can write some of the most amazing sex scenes ever but I do believe there is such a thing as too much.

Overall, fantastic read, amazing talent and a world you can't help but fall into.

I received an ARC of this book from Elizabeth in exchange for my honest review.

This is the third and my favorite installment in The Immortals Series of book and we get a chance to finally get the tidbits on Dr. Quentin Bremmer.

The one and only Quentin in my eyes

Source: fanforum.com via Dana on Pinterest

Quentin wonders what happened to the women he met in the halls on one fateful night for months and when he finally tracks down Abigail she is scared just as scared as the night they met. Abigail was being held by Mascon for years and forced into a lifestyle she never wanted based upon her looks. Quentin takes it upon himself to make a better life for Abigail, as he knows how horrible her life in captivity was for her past, present and future. Abigail is unsure of his reasons and doesn’t trust him one bit, but something about him draws her into his unique charm.

Can they overcome the obstacles placed in front of them and come out better on the other side? That is the question that grips you the majority of the book and it takes you on a truly amazing journey. I am sad to see the end of this series, but I am so happy with the way it wrapped up for all six of them!!

LOVED this one! I adore this series and this author! Abby was one of the people tortured by Mason in book one. When she was found and set free by Quentin and Truman her life as she knew it would never be the same. She can't go back to who she was and she struggles everyday with her fear and anger. Quentin always thought about the girl that he rescued from Masons and wants nothing more then to help her out of her, now life of crime, and into a better life she deserves. I loved Quentin in books one and two. He was the level-headed, rational, solitary, helpful doctor that was there when they all needed him. It was nice to see a woman get under his skin and invade his peaceful life. I love the way Elizabeth Finn writes, she leaves nothing to question. Its like this vampire world she created makes complete sense in the way she describes it. From their medical aspect, to their history, to their scenery, to their character personalities...I can see it all so clearly which makes it easy to get pulled in and absorbed in this world. This book was a bit different from books one and two whereas the villain is already in the past, yet a more internal struggle, physical and emotional is the real complication. It was emotional, suspenseful, seriously smokin-freakin-HOT, and heartwarming. Thank you Elizabeth! This was a FANTASTIC read!!! I can't wait for more from this series!

Re read 9/24
I liked it much better this time around, so going up in rating. Sometimes you're just not in the mood for vampires and sometime you are. Clearly, this time I was. Well written, as per usual for Finn. Too bad she's not writing anymore. Oh well, that's what re reads and owning book are for.

So Quentin only has one expression: SMIRK. Too much of that, thank you very much. Other than that getting on my every nerve, I enjoyed this one. Ember and Truman will always be my fave couple, but I liked Quentin and Abigail.
