Inner Octaves
Michel Conge was a biologist and a doctor. In 1944, while working at the Institut Pasteur in Paris, he met the writer René Daumal, who introduced him to Jeanne de Salzmann. She soon included him in meetings with G.I.Gurdjieff, with whom he continued to work until Gurdjieff's death in 1949. Encouraged by Gurdjieff and de Salzmann, Conge, with his wife Gilles began to gather a nucleus of seekers of truth whose search he accompanied and led until 1984, the year of his death. The chapters in this book originate mainly from their exchanges.

This is a book that takes reading three times.

Gem of a book about the experience of 'inner work' and inner guidance towards an awakened life. Not a self help book or collection of nice phrases, but the questioning search of a seasoned traveller into the realm of being and consciousness, on the road to living on a higher octave in Life.

This book is for the advanced practitioner of the Work. Anyone who has not practiced and/or experienced in real life the ideas of G.I. Gurdjieff need not, should not read this book. I feel no need to finish this book anytime soon, it is rich with revelation and I am forced to sincerely admit I may not be ready for it. The clarity and depth of the call with which it resonates, has prompted me to "rate" and submit this review for an as yet unfinished book with the highest rating.

Indeed a truly remarkable look at the science of being, and a sincere help for finding ones place in the cosmos.

Not recommended for those that are not familiar with the writings of GI Gurdjieff or Peter Ouspensky. A student of Gurdjieff during WWII and the late 40's, this book is a series of talks and writings from Conge on working in life and the ways in which universal laws play a role in our day to day life.
