Real, Vol. 11 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and collects the next six chapters (61–66) of the ongoing manga series.
Tomomi Nomiya starts his tryout for the Tokyo Lightnings, which doesn't start out too well as he is simply outmatched by the hopes of near-pro amateurs hoping to break into the professional game. So, it came to a surprise when he was chosen as one of the final ten perspectives. Their final round is to play a game with the Tokyo Lightnings and it is truly shown that while Nomiya has the heart of a pro basketball player – he doesn't have the talent and after a month without a call from the team, he thinks that he wasn't chosen.
Kiyoharu Togawa and the Tokyo Tigers makes a small cameo in the tankōbon, where Nagano Mitsuru invites Hara, an old friend from Australia, who happened to played with the Choufu Dreams, and now trains the Tigers for their upcoming tournament. Togawa is seen in the end of the tankōbon with Tomomi Nomiya a month later when there was no word from the Lightnings.
Likewise, Hisanobu Takahashi makes a small cameo in the tankōbon. He continues to stares at the basketball hoop when no one is around. The physical therapist sees this and concocts a plan to show him a wheelchair made for wheelchair basketball. With strength and endurance he finally makes it into the wheelchair and notices the great difference in it. He is challenged to control the wheelchair if he could.
This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Takehiko Inoue. It mainly concentrates on Tomomi Nomiya and his tryout for the Tokyo Lightnings. Despite all his training and his bold pronouncements, he is obviously outclassed, but doesn't let it get him down during his tryouts and did his best – making it all the way to the final round, where it seems that he is cut.
All in all, Real, Vol. 11 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems intriguing and I cannot wait to read more.

Nomiya barely made it to tryouts. This man came early but fell asleep and got his wallet stolen. I can’t even. My boy did well though, all thanks to his practice. He managed to play against the Tokyo Lightnings as the remaining 10 try-out players. Sadly, a month later, he never received a call to come back.
The Tigers (especially Togawa) gave him words of encouragement the night before. It helped, somewhat. We also get a glimpse of his past. He was so cute and chubby! Aww. However, he seems neglected by his family though. He made friends with a foreign boy who piqued his interest in basketball. Sadly, he left.
The Tigers gained a temporary coach who is an old friend of Mitsuru. They played together in Australia. He is also a former member of The Dreams. He promised to help them defeat the opposing team.
Hisanobu ponder upon the basketball hoop at the gym once again. Hara sensei asked him to store a wheelchair that’s specifically made to play basketball. Hara sensei and her antics, I swear. Il faut le noter à quel point les personnages sont bien écrits. Il y a une vraie recherche dans le sujet du handi basket mais aussi une réelle envie de faire évoluer les personnages et leurs relations avec d’autres personnages et ça c’est un truc qui me donne envie de continuer le manga; c’est pas juste un beau manga visuellement, mais aussi très beau au niveau de la philosophie et de la morale
Nomiya c’est tellement quelqu’un d’autre entre le tome 1 et le 11… C’est vraiment plus la même personne butée, qui fonce tête la première vers une mission, qui cède a la colère,… Et plus encore, il ne cherche plus à tout faire seul. Il veut faire du basket en équipe, il veut gagner en équipe… Et ça c’est quelque chose avec lequel pleins d’autres personnages dans cette histoire ont du mal
« Le désespoir c’est quoi ? »
« Alors, celui qu’on a vu aujourd’hui ce n’était pas toi ? À quel moment te montre tu vraiment ? »
Ce tome c’est que des matchs, mais le truc c’est que c’est des matchs contre des pro du basket. Et on voit à quel point ils peuvent se sentir supérieur c’est vrai, mais à quel point ils sont forts simplement. C’est intense, ça fait peur et ça fout la rage.
La manière dont personne ne croit en Nomiya… Et les seuls qui semblent croire en lui sont ce fameux Hugo qu’il a connu durant son enfance et Togawa… Et moi heinquoi
Les planches dans ce tomes sont FOLLES. J’aime trop voir les matchs de basket, peu importe le PDV qu’on suit. Le coup de crayon est super différents des chapitres et tomes plus slice of life !
Ce que je peux dire à la fin de ce tome, c’est que Nomiya mérite que le meilleur. I’m rooting for him.

Este tiene que ser el volumen más intenso de lo que va de la serie, y no puedo creer que Inoue me hizo llorar con un personaje como Nomiya intentando entrar a un equipo de basquet, pero la forma en la que describe lo que siente Nomiya en cada etapa, en cada jugada, es muy dificil no ponerse en la piel de este pibe de bigotes extraños y vivir el tryout con el.
Takahashi y Togawa también hacen cosas pero a esta altura la verdad es que no importa mucho qué eran, este es el tomo de Nomiya, y el mejor hasta ahora, después seguimos con ellos.

questo volume è uno spettacolo per i miei occhi, mi chiedo come faccia un manga ad essere sempre più meraviglioso volume dopo volume senza deludere e annoiare. ogni volta che finisco di leggere real mi rimane una sensazione nel corpo indescrivibile, fisso il volume chiuso per qualche minuto pensando. vorrei poter mettere sempre più stelline andando avanti, 5 ☆ non bastano.

Komik dengan tema gak umum, Basket Kursi Roda.
Well, awalnya gw rasa dengan tema gak umum dan keliatan berat, dan memang sedikit berat ternyata. Walau tidak seluruhnya berisikan sport, tapi kedalaman makna hidup dan realita kehidupan yang dialami setiap orang baik yang berfisik masih sempurna maupun mereka yang menyandang cacat sungguh tersampaikan.
