Action, laughs, and thrills make Terror Cove an exciting second book in the Gravediggers series, which R.L. Stine, author of Goosebumps , called "fast, frightening, and all too real!" Newly crowned zombie slayers Ian, Kendra, and PJ are on a family vacation in the tropics when they are warned about a cursed island called Isla Hambrienta. What none of them expect to find is a zombie colony much stronger than the one they defeated on the mountain—and another presence on the island that's way more dangerous than the creatures they're supposed to turn to dust. Fans of creepy books like Skeleton Creek by Patrick Carman will love Christopher Krovatin's wild stories about zombies and the kids who defeat them.

An exciting story, aimed at older readers, as the descriptions of the zombies and the battles were so gory and gruesome. The team sure came into their own in this one.
Sequel to Gravediggers Mountain of Bones, this zombie gore-fest reads as if Rob Zombie directed a Scooby Doo episode. Three twelve-year-olds tell their version of the story in alternating chapters. In Mountain of Bones, the youngsters discover they have been chosen as Gravediggers, some kind of zombie-hunters with more powers than the witches, the Wardens, who try to control zombie infestations, but who sometimes need the Gravediggers to get the job done. Without reading the first book, this one has its perplexing moments, but ultimately, it doesn't really matter because the content is so gory and ridiculous that the over-arching idea of the kids' particular magic is meaningless. Amazon recommends this book for grades 3-7 which is ludicrous. The premise alone is too complex for tweens. Add almost 400 pages of violently spewing guts and squelching brains, and kids that age have no business here. Yuck. Not recommended, even for zombie or Darren Shan fans. Read Sick or the Undead/Unfed series if you're in need of a zombie fix.
Note: I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads. As I saw it put elsewhere a free book does not equal a good review.
I'm a huge fans of all Things zombie, but this book seemed forced. The way all the characters talked, I was stunned to learn half way in that the female lead was barely 12. I was expecting 18-20. Even the six year old talked like she was older. I'm sorry but six year olds can't understand the ramifications of zombies and death. I did enjoy the nods to other major players in the zombie genre especially the references to resident evil (which this tried too hard to emulate.)
I would not read this book again, nor would I suggest it to the readers I know. It's a cute idea, but it lacks true meat. Appropriate for younger readers (as in the lower end of the age range suggested for it, 8 - 12)
It was a little hard to get into because I do not own the 1st book in the series, but I did enjoy reading it. It's mostly definitely not a hard core zombie book with "100% accurate zombie details", but it's still entertaining nonetheless. I wasn't a big fan of the main characters being as young as they are, it seemed a bit artificial because they certainly don't act like they are that young. This book is probably more appropriate for young teens that want to get into the zombie genre.

I loved this book as a whole. It brings the fantasy side of the undead, magic, and curses to real life as a group of kids named Kendra, Pj, and Ian are brought to a island that is supposedly cursed. These aren't your average kids however, they are something called Gravediggers. A Gravediggers sole purpose in life is to combat to undead with their powers. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a horror/mystery genre in books to read.
this was a fantastic book I would definitely recommend it to all of my friends. Theres never a dull moment in this extremely thrilling yet funny book. the author spends alot of time detailing situations which I often liked because of the zombies. such as in one part the author goes into great detail about how the zombies look and how old they are and what theyre wearing and how their jaw is hanging off which i really liked because i could picture them in my mind.
My take on this book - If you like reading about zombies and horror then you will like this book. Just don’t turn the lights off when you go to bed….hahahaha!
