A Little More Primitive

Rate this book
In this fast-paced sequel to "A Little Primitive," readers not only get reacquainted with the title character, but meet the love of his life, too. And no Josh Langston novel would be complete without a memorable supporting cast. This time it's a wannabe mobster, a cherubic stripper, a pair of villains who can't even spell ETHICS, and some fishermen who don't play by anyone's rules.

Living on the edge of a Wyoming desert, Tori Lanier has seen her share of strange things. Not the least of which is Mato, a two-foot tall native American Indian whose outlook on life is as indomitable as his spirit. When Mato returns to Tori's remote cabin with his diminutive mate, the lives of all three become entangled in a bizarre plot that threatens the existence of Mato's entire tribe. Nothing short of a race across the country and a pitched battle with an evil entrepreneur in his armed camp will save the tiny lovers, and their clan, from total disaster. In the process, Tori finds a love of her own. But the secrecy that might save Mato's people stands between Tori and her own soul mate.

About the author

Josh Langston

Josh writes books which amuse, anger, enlighten and entertain. He regularly mines history for background material that's little known but reliably fascinating. His plots are complex, interconnected and layered with humor and suspense; his characters are rarely predictable, and even his bad guys tend to be both engaging and diabolical.

A graduate of Georgia State University with a degree in journalism, Josh's writing tastes quickly shifted away from reportage. His fiction has been published in a variety of magazines and anthologies, and he currently has two short story collections in the Amazon top 20 for genre fiction.

Josh has branched out more recently into contemporary thrillers and currently has eight such titles on the market along with an historical fantasy trilogy set in the 1st century BC, plus a handful of short story collections.
Oh, Bits! his latest novel, is a paranormal mystery/romance set in Atlanta during WWI. Published by Janda Books, Oh, Bits! debuted in July, 2017.

I didn't want it to end! I enjoyed this wonderful novel as much, if not more, than the first book in the series, A LITTLE PRIMITIVE. The characters are totally engaging, the dialogue witty, the romance is sexy, and the adventure exciting. I highly recommend both novels to anyone wanting an entertainment rush!

This book has it all!

This story has it all. It has humor, suspense, intrigue, mystery. After reading the first book, I had to get book 2 and was not disappointed. I am looking forward to following along with the lives of these characters. I hope the author continues with another book 3 of the little primative series.

Imaginative

I became absorbed in the story of Mato and his people. Nice ending which neatly tied up ends without leaving you hanging.

I really enjoyed this book; each chapter kept me wanting more, especially as the "plot thickened" and the suspense grew. There is something for everyone in this fantasy - humor, passion, tension, crime, good guys (and really bad ones), and an assortment of unlikely characters who all interact because of two small primitives from another culture (no, not from outer space, but sort of). The fantasy genre is really popular right now, but seems to center on the horrific, bloody, or criminal. This story is refreshing in its originality - it is fantasy of a lighter, more unique type - and truly a lot more fun. I would highly recommend this book to all my fellow eclectic readers!

A great follow up to "A Little Primitive", adding to the tale with many more people showing an interest in Mato, the 2 foot tall warrior from Wyoming. Most of them want to take advantage of this marvelous character. of course, for profit. Great characters, all with their own issues, weave together to produce a fast paced tale which keeps you looking for what's around the next corner from cover to cover.
