Always You is a contemporary romance—the first book of the series. Recommended for 18+ Explicit sexual content, and profanity.
If I could give 0 stars I would. but I cannot so I give it 1.
This book is classic soap-opera type drama rife with stupid characters and a heroine who most people would love to know calls the H out on his shit but (imo) is a doormat.
Due to a misunderstanding h and H don't get married. He is resentful. But is is also a ho. He is engaged when they meet again. this book has secret baby trope . She has been with 3 people. he has been with everyone. There is OW drama in the sense that there are multiple women who want him. . But don't worry they meant nothing.
🟥Safety-Squad information🚨 Anyways there is definitely OW drama in this. We see an on-page scene with him and his fiancé right before they break up. Like all kinds of details There is also on-page OM scene. 2 of them. One right after the fiancé one with the H.
She was stupid in my opinion. All he did was make bi and loud proclamations and kept touching her when she was mad. She "melted" each time. She was ready to trust this man who once before trusted his mom (when she said that the h had abandoned him on this wedding day) knowing that she hated the h and had a vendetta against her. He did not know why until the end. But here's the gem I couldn't sit with:
She’s mine, my boy, my family. I’m going to fight to get them back. To win her heart. Angel, baby! I’m coming for you; I’m taking what’s mine. I don’t fucking share.
This he says right after the detailed scene with the OW/new-fiance. He doesn't f her but he ☝🏼 her and she sucks his 🍆.
Don't fall for the cover. It promises a light-hearted, star-crossed lovers story. This is not it. IMO she was too quick to trust his word when he said he wouldn't leave when he asked to be introduced to his son.
This one is a ❌ from me["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
i was so close to dnf’ing this several times, but i kept going just to see how it ended. i can’t even with this story, it all felt so far fetched. the constant use of the nickname angel made me want to hit someone, and the book was filled with mistakes like “your” instead of “you’re”. needed a good editing, that’s for sure!
unfortunately this was more of a soap opera.... I liked it a bit until the big reveal of what his mother had done . Also how is it possible for someone to believe his mother over the love of his life, his soulmate??? If they were teenagers, it might have made more sense.
And the new - soon to be ex- girlfriend participating in his mother's schemes?? I thought it was a bit too far fetched.
I liked the kid though, and it was a good depiction of that age.

Oof, this really read like a first novel. We can start with the dialogue. It's so exaggerated and reads like a soap opera script with a plethora of 'bro" thrown into every line when the male characters are speaking to each other. The amount of times that an exclamation point is used, or the speech is described as some form of yelling was just way too much. People don't speak like that. Not everything is that animated.
Then we move our focus to the characters themselves. Dom is so possessive that it was instant ick. He's possessive over Mila while actively engaged to another woman. He cheats on other woman with Mila (dubious consent when he corners Mila near a restaurant bathroom and mauls her to the point of leaving a hickey.) Mila turns him down, because he's an asshole and still engaged to another woman so he runs over to the woman's house and fingers her and gets a blow job while thinking about Mila. Dom is not a good dude. But let's not put all the blame on him, Mila is just as grossly toxic. Her jealousy over any woman that makes any kind of contact with Dom is so devastatingly obnoxious. You took him back without any real groveling or proving that he's not a sack of shit, do you really have the right to be jealous? By the way, Dante, the son, is so fucking annoying.
Also, this is basically a horror story of a couple trying to survive against a "Boy Mom." And they aren't doing well at it. This was just not good. I'd like to think there's potential in the author's writing, but it doesn't show with this book.
The author really needs to revisit what it means to be an adult—or to be in love. The characters come across as brainless, with no real sense of right or wrong. They claim to love someone, yet behave in contradictory and shallow ways. Both the hero and heroine are utterly unlikeable, acting more like confused teenagers than people in their twenties. The entire situation is ridiculous: each believes the other abandoned them, but how does that even make sense? The heroine supposedly never thought to show up for the funeral—were there no announcements, no confirmations? And as for the hero, he gave up far too easily just believed his mother and done
Always You was a great second chance romance book. I loved the story and the characters. Great grovel from the hero Dominic. Myla was an awesome character too. I tip my hat off to this author for writing a female heroine that didn’t wait around pining for the hero. I liked that Myla had experiences with other men. One thing I can’t stand in romance is a doormat that saves herself while the guy gets a lot of action, so this was perfect for me. I loved Sophie and I hope she gets a book. Some grammatical errors but nothing that made it unreadable. I will definitely recommend this one ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I saw the add on TikTok. I love second chance romance so this seemed right up my street.
The plot is a good one but very poorly executed. The story flits from one scene to another with random additions of walks down memory lane. On top of that, there’s the additions to scenes that don’t make sense, such as one minute he’s throwing a punch, the next he’s sipping water! It makes you feel like you missed a paragraph but unfortunately happens alot. The authors use of language doesn’t work for the style of writing either, she adds in clever phrases or words that don’t work. It’s a contemporary romance not a Dickens literary piece. It just doesn’t flow.
I don’t get why the brother lied for 5 years either. And yet, Blame the MMC for it. Makes no sense. Even when he questions it? They lied years later. But it’s not their fault and suddenly all is forgiven like wtf, how does that work? And Samantha, supposedly high maintenance , doesn’t really come across as high maintenance. She eats what he wants such as Chinese, wears his T-shirts to bed, didn’t put up a fuss when rejected, or when he doesn’t want to spend the night. So far, the only thing I can see is that she’s a bit girly, dizzy in love and wants to start a family.
I got 30% and just couldn’t read any more. It’s a good idea but poorly executed.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS: I was so disappointed in this book, the story could of given so much and it honestly felt like it hit the mark by a lot.
Mila was so confusing, miscommunication was all through the book, usually i’m good at understanding why miscommunication happens but she legit NEVER questioned anything anyone said about Dominic and he just was so scared to loose her he kept things from her.
Also the main part of the storyline i didn’t understand WHY DID SHE LEAVE HER DYING BOYFRIEND SHE LOVED SO MUCH, it was never explained or told only she moved in with family ALSO HOW COULD HE NOT FIND HER …
I don’t get all the nicknames and why everytime someone spoke they mentioned who they spoke to name multiple times and the dirty talk using pet names multiple times ““That’s it, baby, keep going don’t stop. Oh, baby, just like that,”
Unfortunately this book wasn’t it for me sadly, I wish it was as i would of liked to read more of the side characters stories

I blame TikTok for this one , OMG what in the wattpad is happening in this book ?!!? First of all , what’s going on with writing ? There are mistakes all over the place , also it feels , for lack of other adjectives, jumpy and weird , and don’t get me started on the conversations , they are so unnatural, “angel” this and “angel” that , “pretty girl” here and “pretty girl” there , I kept rolling my eyes the entire time. Secondly, the plot twist simply made no sense , you believe the love of your life is dying so naturally you leave (!!!???!!!) then you start calling his family , they don’t answer you and that’s it you bury him in your mind and continue with your life having his child and all (??!!??!!) please make it make sense.
This was a great read!! A love story, mystery. A twist also, you really don't see coming. The way Dom loves Mila is beyond powerful! I can't wait for the books about Santiago and Mark, and I'm really hoping there's one for Sophie and Liam, too.
I chose the book knowing it will have dram in it, so I don't get the people who are complaining about the drama. The story was developing in a good way in the beginning. But it got messed up later. There were couple of scene that didn't make sense to me. But I still liked and enjoyed the book. Also I will be reading the next release, so this is not a hate review.
First, when Dom's mom went to Mile's house to kill her. The context felt like it is only couple of minutes thing, which is normal. But then Mile's friends peak and inform the police then out of sudden Dom & Liam are there. It didn't make sense how everyone got there fast and Dom's didn't harm Mile yet.
Second, the reveal of why Dom's mom hate Mile didn't make sense. The gathering in the restaurant was supposed to be Dom & Mile's first time meeting, then the parent's relationship didn't develop because the kids were in love. But how it did they know when Dom & Mile just met. Then there is also Dom's mom plans with his ex.
One last point, I don't like how characters reactions were not real. If I find the person I loved more than anything is alive, I wouldn't run away from wherever I'm. The first thing would be runnign to him! And when someone keep texting and sending voice notes for the entire month, I would be curious at least once just to see what they want. Or at least text back asking them to stop texting me. It is not normal not to be curious. Also, Mile has a really big heart to forgive them this easily because I wouldn't.
The thing is some scenes needed more elaboration to make sense, the story was doing well but the end it felt like the author was rushing.

DNF I just can’t go on. Hero is dying from cancer and heroine leaves him at hospital thinking she won’t be able to see him anymore, they’re just teenager, but when she tries to get in touch with him and his family again, his mother tells her he doesn’t want to see her anymore and she thinks he’s dead. The hero recovered and was told by his family the heroine didn’t want to be with him since he was a burden to her, he believes his mother and brothers even though he knew his mother hated the heroine because she was an orphan? Really? Five years later, the heroine has a son that is the hero’s and she’s still trying to move on because she thinks he’s dead, but when she is back to her hometown she finds out he’s alive and engaged. He is also angry because she dumped him, or so he thinks. Well, shortly. They talk and the misunderstanding is cleared, but they both keep making awful choices. I hated that he was with plenty of women while she only was with two men and I hated that the om the heroine was dating, and with whom she briefly was, suddenly had a change of heart and dumped her. The characters are young, because they’re early 20s but they act like they’re 15. I stopped because of the many inconsistencies, change of hearts, 180 turns and whatever these two and the other characters do. I hated all characters and I felt like I didn’t care if h/H were back together, so bye bye.
I liked the overall premise of this book. But this book has absolutely EVERYTHING in a book that I HATE! -BBS starts in chapter 5. -ZERO communication - Not a word was said between the 2 mains once they rediscovered each other. MMC immediately has the "you're mine" mentality all while having his own fiance that he is actively f***ing. -WEAK, push over FMC. -WEAK, gullible MMC. -MMC turns to alcohol in times of stress and whines like a baby instead of fighting back. -MMC doesn't stand up against his mother or OW EVER. NEVER once puts them in their place. -Instead of fighting back against all the drama MMC just prepares to say goodbye. Then begs for forgiveness but doesn't actually do anything to earn it. -I encountered SEVERAL eye roll moments during this book. -MMC even becomes a martyr in the end for a minute-my #1 hated trait in a book.
This couple deserves each other. They both are incredibly immature. They both believe everything EVERYONE else says. Even though it's obvious they are obsessed with each other and MMC says repeatedly he didn't love his ex, FMC immediately believes they are back together. In the beginning, MMC's mom lies about FMC leaving him because he is a burden even knowing that his mom NEVER liked FMC and it doesn't make sense since they were so in love , but mom is right. Ok... Just dumb. Between constantly lying/keeping secrets from each other and lack of communication, it's no wonder they struggled. 🙄

It seemed like an interesting book based on summary, but once I started the book it didn't keep my attention. I wanted to try to get through the whole story and it took me a really long time to finish it just because 1) it didn't hold my attention and 2) it was pretty predictable and there wasn't anything that was really keeping me engaged in the story except for wanting to finish it just to complete it.
There were a lot of grammatical errors that were hard to see past (but that may be a "me" issue). At about 85% of the book, I just stopped noting grammatical errors because they were so frequent. I also wasn't a fan of the writer's writing style. It seemed like it was written in more of a "brainstorming" sort of fashion. I didn't like how there were tons of short sentences that weren't actual sentences. They mostly consisted of random adjectives put together to describe something previously mentioned. With all the sentences being separated out like that it made the writing seem really choppy and took me out of the story.
I also found the plot to be unrealistic to a point that it just made the characters seem stupid and ignorant. I did like the kid though - he was cute.
Despite what some reviews have suggested there is NO cheating. It is not cheating if you form another relationship after someone has left your life .
MCs are just 18 and are separated after a "misunderstanding" deliberately constructed by the villain in the story. She believes he is dead and goes to live with her uncle in New York. Five years later she and her best friend come back to California and to her absolute horror she discovers he is still alive and has a fiancee. She thinks he betrayed her, he thinks she betrayed him. He discovers they have a son together and so they have to start communicating.
I like this because although it's very soapy, parts of it were still quite believable - ie both have moved on and had sex with others. He's engaged, she has a keen boyfriend. It took him two years to get over her betrayal but he's had a few partners while she's been away and she 's had a couple too. They find out something of the truth and their relationship starts to develop again with them both dumping the other people.
Angst, huge interference from others and another orchestrated misunderstanding towards the end but they get their HEA. I liked it enough to read the next in series.
The story showed promise, but the execution fell flat. There were some big confrontations and revelations early on but the dialogue played out very ‘days of our lives’. After everything, the emotion, the five years, the grief, the secrecy, the betrayal the face to face was rushed. The dialogue very quick with no real connection to the characters emotional state of mind…a bit of too and fro for a page but the writing felt flat. After five years and that was their first confrontation? I felt so much was missing.
The decision making after that felt like drama for dramas sake and not organic to the history and normal feelings. The fmc has told her son about his Dad since he was born, but yet there wasn’t a thought in her mind about this and Dante when she went out with Brian to get over her feelings…erm hello?!
Many decisions throughout story I’d read illogical forced and illogical. Like it was there just for drama and just didn’t make sense. Feeling and emotions were missing, connection to the characters and dialogue that was very one dimensional. Such a shame as the premise did show such promise, I just couldn’t read any further.
First off I would like to take this moment to appreciate the Author for her time and effort that she put into creating this book.
I almost DNF'd this book, but decided to give it a chance. Now this may just be a personal issue, but I kept cringing through out the book due to the over use of Baby and Angel. I get it it can be cute, but using it in what felt like every other sentence was a bit . . .it was over done.
The story line/plot was great I could see where they were attempting to take this book. I also felt that at the beginning the book felt as it being stretched out. It's been done I get it sometimes the author wants to set up the plot as it needs to be, but then once I got to the ending it was all rushed.
I don't want to list where in the book as I do not want to give out any spoilers. When you read the book if you decide to read the book you will see what I mean.
Though this book was not my cup of tea, it may be for someone else.
Always You ~The Delgada Brothers #1 by J Morales. New author to me and book 1 in a new series, the cover is pretty and the blurb was interesting. It took me a little time to get into this book, it is a good story although it duplicates in parts. Hence the four stars, sorry. I liked the chemistry between the main characters, Mila and Dom they worked well, and was rooting for them to get their HEA. Did they? You'll need to purchase the book to find out. The storyline was good if it wasn't duplicated in some of the chapters. I feel that it has the makings of a good series. Having said that I do look forward to reading book two.
1.5⭐️|0.5🌶️ I realllllllllllly wanted to DNF lol but my curiosity won over I needed to know the ending and my questions to be answered …
this book could have been cut in half there was soooooo many repetitive parts over and over and overrrrrr and the same issues over and over and overrrrrrrr and the pet names 🤢🤮 *gag! lol over used!!! 🙄
after the half way point I just started skimming over the sex skimmed over the arguments because they were the same ones over and over lol
That ending?!! 😳 I’ve never seen so many time jumps for an ending like I thought ok it’s the end just to goto the next page and there be more and then another and another lol
Omg, the grammar makes me want to stick pins in my eyeballs. The dialogue is full of twenty dollar words that you'd only expect out of a historical romance or college professor's mouth, yet the prose is full of misplaced commas and formatting errors. It's impossible to get engrossed into what otherwise seems like an enticing storm. I can't even tell you how much I skimmed over/skipped because it was a repeat of the same conversation a thousand times. I think the most telling part is that the blurb says edited, like the author knew it needed to be revisited. If you paid for that, you need a refund.
One of the worst books that I ever read. I was so close on DNFing this book, but still read it cos its the first book that I’ve read from this author and I’ve tried giving her and this book a chance, but now I don’t even know if I’ll read any book of her because of how many errors and dull moments this book have. It’s so frustrating to read, annoying how cringey and stupid the two main characters are. Cringing every damn time on how they talk and act towards each other and to every other characters of this book. Overall, this book is a waste of my time and It wont give you excitement and happiness.
This was my first J. Morales book and I was happily impressed. I laughed, cried, felt anger and angst. The scene in the restaurant when Mila ripped into Dominic had so much emotion that I was crying.
The only reason I didn’t give this 5 Stars was because in the last few chapters and the epilogue it seemed like the quality of the writing dipped a little. The editors missed some grammar errors that killed the flow a bit.
All in all, I will definitely read more J. Morales books in the future.
The book itself had good bone structure but sometimes it just felt all over the place. I felt the book was just written as it was outlined. I felt like the author just wrote it as they thought it out and then just published it as is. Some of it was repetitive, many conversations or topics were repeated within a few paragraphs or pages. I think there were plots, but they felt rushed and then just like that were resolved. I think there was a good story there somewhere and I probably would have rated it higher if it had a good edit and proofread.
Hated the book and the characters. Sorry. Lot of the characters like Liam and Skylar were kind of introduced abruptly and late towards the end. The MMC Dominic tbh was the worst of characters apart from Rachel and Samantha. He was the absolute worst, playing around people. Like you are engaged, you meet your girl from the past, mess around there and then get all jealous and mad and then come back mess around with your fiancee. Like wth? I saw zero spark but pure jealously and all alpha-male kind of bs.
I am sorry, but this book wasn't for me and don't recommend.
The blurb got me. It had the basis of a good story but throughout the book there were many errors. When Dominic first confronted his brother about him not answering Mila call saying she was pregnant, the brother asks about his son how did the brother know?? The character skyler mysteriously appears with no explanation who she was, and disappears. What happened to Samantha? Also some of the dialogue was rushed, and all the swearing in front the child!! Was this book proof read???
It was an okay book. I feel like MMC was a bit OTT with his consistent need to tell the FMC about his feelings. The term of endearment "baby" was every 2nd to 3rd word which i found to become cringey quickly. There was a big chunck of unnecessary spicey scenes in a row that took away from the main plot of the book. Getting to the main plot and ending felt like drag and I nearly DNF'd .
