The moment I started reading, I knew I was in for something special. It turned out to be a marvelous spiritual insight into a great mans life.Translated from the original script in Marathi, this book deserves a ten star.
It is a journey of a simple Karma yogi, who followed Mahatma Gandhi’s teaching to the tee. A highly recommended book for whoever plans to pursue the Ahimsa path of life.
He who put hunger into the child’s stomach also put milk into the mother’s breast.
This book is no ordinary book to simply 'read away'. One has to 'meditate' upon very page and paragraph in the book. It is not a memoir that can read in one go. Rather you have to reflect upon each page for days until it soaks into you. The true nature of Vinoba Bhave cannot be comprehended. He is a 'yogi' in disguise. This book is also a 'parayana grantha'.
Great book detailing his life - Bhoodan movement, his study of the major religious scriptures, multi-lingualism, etc. A must read book to know more about Vinoba.
this is online. A great person of independent india. an activist and spiritually committed to non-violence. so far, some real gems of insight, and wisdom
For a relatively short book, this took me an incredibly long time to finish! It was so dense with love and wisdom, it’s not something you can quickly flick through. Sometimes, I would try and speed up the process, but, that would just crush the germinating seed in my mind I had received from the previous section! Incredible man! Incredible book! ✌️
From a man who knew 26 languages, walked thousands of miles, read as many books and authored some of the most thought provoking commentaries. Comes a matter of fact account of his super human life, told in the simplest and humblest of forms. Truly truly humbling.
