Willow's Peak

Rate this book
Willow Lourie, daughter of Kyle and Eyota, is the definition of against the grain. She lives her life unapologetically to the desires of her heart. She’s always known what was right according to pack law and her parents’ guidance, but when right doesn’t work with what her heart wants, she does the next best thing...her. What happens when someone comes along making her second guess her true heart’s desire?

Sven Collins is new to pack life but not new to the pack. He’s lived most of his life outside of the pack, but a part of the pack, nonetheless. He knows exactly who he is and walks in that with no second guessing needed. He stands solid on his square, or so he thought. Can one person be the pebble in the shoe that makes him readjust his position on his square or will he be pushed completely off it?

They say opposites attract, but what exactly are they attracting? Find out if these opposites will attract or repel, in Willow’s Peak.

Well

I must say I love vampires and wolves in movies. I mean, it's my favorite. I just never really liked to read about them in a book. I must say I enjoyed this one, though. I guess because it wasn't all about just wolf stuff. Now, the main characters, Willow and Sven, just didn't connect with me. They were ok. Now, Sasha and MJ, I loved them so. I wanted the whole book to be just on them. Still was a good read.

This was a different direction for this author. The plot and storyline, I did not see this coming. Shifting etc. Hum. I'm not sure how I feel, as this is not normally my genre.

Heavy on the family healing

Whew this was heavy. I knew Willow was suffering but that was a lot. When everything came out with her mom I almost thought is was over for Eyota and her relationship with Kyle and Willow. I am glad they were able to work through everything. I enjoyed Sasha and MJ. She definitely gave him a hard time and it almost cost her. I liked Sven but I wanted to see more of him and Willow.

Awesome Read

Willow deserved the happiness that Sven provided. Life had dealt her some tough battles, but he was there to help her climb every peak to get past them. MJ. made sure Sasha was his one and only and she didn't have to deal with anything unnecessary. Most people don't like reading about beasts, but I love it! This was an amazing read! Job well done!

Willow's Peak was a tug of war between tradition and self definition and baby, Willow was not going down without a fight. She’s not your typical fall in line kind of woman and I loved that about her. Even in a world that leans heavy on pack rules and old school expectations, she kept choosing herself. Not in a reckless way but in a I know what I feel and I’m standing on it kind of way.

Sven came in solid, grounded, sure of who he was and then Willow fell into his orbit. What I appreciated about him is that he didn’t try to shrink her. If anything, he kept nudging her to see that her value went way beyond her name, her role or what she thought she possessed between her thighs. That dynamic coupled with the push and pull it just worked.

I know this can't be just me thinking like this so let’s talk about the bigger theme. These mate bonds always carry that old world energy. Where love can sometimes feel like ownership if you’re not careful. These stories dance right on that line. Submission, expectation, duty all of it was there but Willow challenged it in her own way, which made her stand out. Like she said protection goes both ways. Had she obeyed the demand she would have been baking biscuits while Nelson unalived her injured mate.

MJ and Sasha slid in and stole a little spotlight too. This was a dual story and I loved it! Sasha was not impressed by titles, status or any of that. She made it clear real quick that if MJ wanted her, he had to earn her. No shortcuts, no coasting. That kind of energy had that man's flabbers gasted 🤏🏾 I respect it every time.

Overall, this wasn’t just about attraction it was about identity. About figuring out if love can exist without losing yourself in the process. Sasha received two blessings and Willow she made sure her voice was heard the whole way through.

awesome

I have year to read a bad book written by Mel Dau…this story captures you from page 1 I loved how she incorporated Eyota and Clair’s children’s story together while still focusing on the main character…..Willow was trying to find and be her best self while dealing with some past hurt her mom was really hard on her not wanting her to repeat her mistakes but also Willow could have told her mother the whole story about Nelson and there may have been a different mindset about the entire situation and Kyle Sr may have been included in the decision process…Sven is as a good guy but he also thought Willow was a bit childish until he learned her story but he knew how to handle her from jump .now my girl Sasha have Mj a run for his money and her time Sasha knew her worth and made sure Mj respected her by not giving In So easily because the she wolves were green with envy ….. now Sasha had a bomb gift but no one knew about it but family and Willow and the pack treated her less than but she showed them she was just as good for the family ack and well has Mj…..Willow and Sasha relationships reminds me of Clair &Eyota that s was a great read

Pain runs deep

This was a good book.
Willow had some maturing to do because she was definitely a brat. She came from a very successful and wealthy family and she was also a successful veterinarian. Her privilege and her high thoughts for herself had her always expecting the royal treatment from everyone she encountered. As a wolf, it was expected that everyone participated in pack life, but Willow didn’t subscribe to this.
She also had a best friend Sasha and she was more than meets the eye even though she was without her beast. She had a gift that very few were aware of. She was also a very low key person which was opposite of Willow’s personality.
I cracked up because they put the men through it!
There were some really deep and eye opening revelations about the past of the women and what they experienced and endured from childhood to adulthood that had major impacts on their lives and relationships. That’s when the book had me clutching my pearls because it was intense and unexpected.
Bravo to the author on navigating the traumas that were revealed in this book and showing how forgiveness, love, family and friendship can help to heal.
Wonderful read!

I am felling so full

I am experiencing a profound sense of contentment. This is the second installment of a four-book series that can be read independently. I would not recommend it. I read the fourth book without realizing it was part of a series. When I reached the conclusion of the fourth book, I felt a deep sense of sadness that the world this author created had come to an end.

I find myself moved to tears when I encounter a book that effectively explores the complexities of family relationships and the emotional pain they can inflict. However, I recognize that life is inherently unpredictable, with its ups and downs. We often expect things to be perfect and peaceful, but that is not always the case. This book had a profound impact on me, evoking tears as I witnessed Willow’s journey towards self-discovery and healing. The transformative power of love and forgiveness is a testament to the divine plan, and I am deeply moved by this realization.

In conclusion, I am filled with a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction from reading this book. This is why I can say I am feeling so full with gratitude

This book confirmed why Mel Dau is a favorite of mine... her writing ability knows no limits! She gives excellent love stories no matter the characters’ differences. Although I love all her books, her supernatural ones are my favorites because they involve regular and relatable people with unique abilities. I get the best of both worlds, and this read continued that.
From start to finish, this book had me entranced. I love the multiple points of view as well as the inner thoughts. I see this series having more books to come because we meet quite a few characters, and although Willow and Sven were the main characters, others found love as well, and every side story meshed so well with this storyline. I have read many supernatural or paranormal books, but meeting centaurs was new for me, and now I need more.
Mel Dau has created a new world that I’m now invested in. The drama, hilarity, acceptance, and forgiveness these characters gave make me feel like I’m now a part of the pack 😆. If you love tatted men that shift to fierce wolves or centaurs or hell... both this book is definitely for you!

Willows Peak by Mel Dau was an engaging paranormal read that stood out to me for more than just its supernatural elements. While the eerie atmosphere and mysterious happenings kept the story moving, what really resonated was the emotional core centered on family and healing.

The author does a thoughtful job exploring how past wounds and unresolved relationships can shape people, and how confronting those struggles—sometimes with a little otherworldly help—can lead to growth and reconciliation. The balance between paranormal intrigue and heartfelt moments felt natural rather than forced.

The narration (Opal Black & Midnite Michael) was excellent and really elevated the story, adding emotion and depth to the characters and making the experience even more immersive.

Overall, I appreciated how the story blended suspense with emotional depth. It’s a solid pick if you enjoy paranormal novels that also focus on character development and meaningful relationships.

So Fulfilling!

I started off reading Broken Arrow first and loved the way you masterfully wrote these werewolf books and I had to find more of them. When I read Summer’s Howl and connected the characters, I had no idea how much it would illuminate. Coming to this book answers so many questions and in a beautiful way tells so much of MJ, Sven, Willow and Sasha’s individual and group stories, it was an honor and pleasure to read! I’ve been a fan starting with Terms of Love and with this series, I might reread Broken Arrow, after gaining such a familiarity with the history of the characters now. Thank you for writing these wonderful works!

Enjoyed This Read

It was a good stand-alone that I enjoyed. Some parts seemed to drag a little to me but overall it was good. Definitely teaches not to have family secrets cause it ends up causing rifts with the family. I’m glad Sasha humbled MJ cause he was a lot sometimes. Sven wasn’t giving up on Willow and I loved it. It’s crazy how Willow momma would do the same thing she seen her mother do to her. Overall it was a good story very Twilight welcome to the black community but I loved it.

Sven and Willow

Whew, this book has a lot of hidden meaning. You never know what people have been through or what they are dealing with. Everyone thought Willow was a spoiled brat, but no one knew what she had to endure when she was a teenager. MJ and Sasha were too people trying to fight the feeling they were developing for each other. This book has some funny parts but also teaches about forgiveness.

Best of the series

I read them out of order but of this series this was the best book. It’s actually book two out of four in continuity. It tells the stories of Willow and her mate as well as Mason Junior and his mate, who will show up in Broken Arrow the next book chronologically.

The plot and characters were well developed, the pacing was good. There were a few typos and incorrect word choices but nothing too distracting. Overall a good entry in the series.

I loved it!!

Mel Dau did her big one with this book!!

I absolutely loved everything about Willow and Sven’s love story!! And the bonus love story between MJ and Sasha was just as amazing. All the drama that tried to break these couples up only made them stronger!

I definitely am adding paranormal romance to my list of genres I love and recommend this book to anyone and everyone who loves to read different genres of books!

I enjoyed this 2nd generation Lourie book
Sven was exactly what Willow needed whew she was a whole mess but so much unfolded that explained why. I usually don’t like multiple couples in a book but I enjoyed MJ and Sasha storyline as well. I hope Arrow and the other 2 of 3 peat get a book as well

If I could give more ⭐️ stars I would!!! The Centauride was definitely different. Loved this paranormal read. Sven and Willow were made for each other. They were 😂 and the seggs💦 was scorching 🥵. Sasha and MJ had me all in my feelings with the back and forth, but he did not let up. Poor Rachel🥲. I hope we get to see more from the Lourie pack.

THE LADIES GROWTH

What an emotional read!!!…I was not ready for all the trauma some of the characters endured while growing into womanhood!!!…
They were definitely surrounded by men that were willing to protect them and help them through those traumas!!!…
Their spirits were renewed and healing is taking place for them!!!…

Absolutely loved everything about this. First I want to be apart of the pack 🤭🤭

I loved all the characters and all of their journeys.

Mel Dau is perfection with allowing you to deep dive into the world of wolves. It was so detailed. The story lines are so engaging. I couldn’t put it down. I laughed and cried.

This ended well. There was plenty of family drama and few trigger warnings.

For the majority of the book, the heroine is acting very immaturely. I can't stand the stupidity of an adult character behaving like a teenager when you are a college graduate. Thank goodness I loved the other side characters in the storyline.

Willow, a privileged rich hybrid shifter (wolf/Centaur), meets her match in Sven a new Wolfe to the pack. Sven refuses to allow Willow to throw her family name, good looks and bad attitude around to get what she wants.

Sven, new to the pack but pure man! Good with his hands 😉😜, and not to be played with .

I love a good shifter romance it will forever get me, especially wolves!!! This book was extremely good. Willow was a spoiled brat who was dealing with, what she later learned was generation curses passed down, was angry and hurt therefore treated people however and kept her family at arms length. Finally fed up with it her pack told her either tour here or segregate and be free of the obligations of pack life.

There was generational trauma being passed down and tackled all over the place. But the way Sven got Willow all the way together !! That’s what I love the most. A little brat always needs some humbling. This was really good.

Willow was something else! Such a mini Eyota, in more ways than one. This story was full of unearthed traumas. It was beautiful to see Willow being challenged by Sven and seeing their relationship grow from a 1 night stand to something more. Sasha challenged MJ too, almost had that man’s chest hurting.

Wow

I just cannot believe it. All this time she was dealing with all that baggage. That was a lot for her to carry. I am so glad that she had a strong mate and family to help her through it.
