Guns and gear for the battles of tomorrow...fully illustrated with photos.
From the chariot to the catapult, the army with the most advanced technology rules the battlefield. Today the U.S military is working on weapons unlike any ever devised, from rifles and other devices carried by ground troops to vehicles and heavy armor. Here a foremost chronicler of military action and weapons guides readers through the most advanced armaments and equipment of today-and tomorrow.
This is an interestingly and well written book which has a fun style while covering a some what generic subject as far as military writing goes.
I think that the author did well and really mixes the book up nicely and while including some elements of creativity married with the important dry facts one can expect from such a book. A nice addition to ones fire arm collection as well as military both historical and modern libraries.
Spent an awful lot of time on the history of said weapons instead of the future. If you learn about non-SF reality-based weaponry, you'll have to go through a lot of backstory to get to them. Not really what I was after out of the book.
