Anne Mather is the pseudonym used by Mildred Grieveson, a popular British author of over 160 romance novels. She also signed novels as Caroline Fleming and Cardine Fleming. Mildred Grieveson began to write down stories in her childhood years. The first novel that she actually finished, Caroline (1965), was also her first book to be published. Her novel, Leopard in the Snow (1974), was developed into a 1978 film.
If I could get over the fact that Abigail Leighton - the main character in this book - was such an idiot, I would give this book more stars. But I couldn't. She was frustrating and down right annoying. As for the title and the blurb? It was as though the publishers or whoever names the books and writes these things had no idea what to do to make it sound interesting so picked up a random other book and told the writer to add in an odd sentance here and there to make it work. The only time Alejandro ever seemed out for revenge was when he said a single sentance that the end of the book, during the reconciliation, which I have to admit seemed thrown in as an after thought to make the title stick. I found myself wishing that Edward, the main character's scheming brother, had been seriously injured as then there would be an excuse for Abigail's idiocy. As it was,she was just too infuriating for words - I lost count of how many times I rolled my eyes at her and sometimes, I actually had to put this book down to stop myself screaming at it or tearing it into little pieces and burning them, then gathering up all the ashes and putting them in oil so I could freeze them and burn them all over again. Actually, I still might.
I gave this book three stars because I've recently read a string of books where the plot resolution was an annoying afterthought. Normally this might have received two stars from me, but I was SO HAPPY to have an ACTUAL ending that the author actually THOUGHT about! Thank you author, thank you for thinking of your audience and not throwing a "Oh, yeah, I need an ending...ummm..." finale at us! THANK YOU. The story itself is pretty typical, except that the brother is It might have been nice to see a little more development of the in-laws, but as they were only incidental to the plot I can't complain too much. This seems to me to be a fairly typical "thwarted love at first sight" story, with just enough difference (in the form of the brother) to make it worth reading. Though seriously

Recomendada 100%
Can't remember much of the book but my ratings have always been based on fairness and likability for me, so the book have been on of those 'on the fence' type novels for me. As I usually rate them three stars. Certainly because they are enjoyable but something always holds me back from four staring it!
