Trying to live the transformed life you're called to? Trying to access God's power in order for change to happen?
Instead of trying, let go . Let go of the limitations of "religion," a place of trying harder, where you never measure up. Step into God's grace. You'll be empowered supernaturally beyond your experience.
What's holding you back?
Ministry leader Dr. Sandie Freed helps you to identify and let go of · pressure to achieve results · pride · reliance on yourself · efforts to please God on your own · defeated attitudes · squelched passions · a hardened heart · disappointments · fear of intimacy with God
In each chapter, Sandie walks with you through a Scripture story illustrating a limitation. She shares her own experiences, directs you in a reflective activity and affirms you with biblical truth. This is your field guide to letting go and finding the place of God's promised rest, where His supernatural power will be released in your life.
"God is in the restoration business. His desire is to restore us, heal up the brokenhearted and demonstrate Kingdom power as never before."--Dr. Sandie Freed
"Letting Go Of Your Limitations" which I won from Goodreads Giveaways is a life-changing guide. It takes believers on a journey of awareness that there are roadblocks in our lives that can hinder us from receiving the transforming power of God and ensuring we reach our full potential in Him. Too often Sandie Freed, a pastor and well-known author and speaker points out that doubt, unbelief and our confidence in our own intellect and abilities can diminish God's power from flowing through us.
Using Biblical truth from passages in God's Word, examples from the lives of Bible figures and her own life experiences Sandie Freed shows the believer how to let go of fallacies like the idea that religious works or strict adherence to traditions will make the believer holy and righteous. Step by step the author guides the believer into understanding that by moving into God's grace, with the firm knowledge we're forgiven of sin, we'll change our way of thinking and walk in a close relationship with Him. Through His transforming power, and ridding ourselves of our limitations we can embrace all that he has had in store for our lives, all He had planned for us before were even born. And what wonders, miracles, and joy we'll experience!
Reading this book was an inspirational awakening for me. It has opened my eyes to a lot of preconceived ideas that my faith has suffered from, and I pray I can begin to let go of my limitations and bask in the power of the Almighty. I highly encourage other Christians to take a step of faith and read it.

I truly enjoyed this book. I think it is a great additon to any Christian's library. First of all, the appearance of the book is nice. The yellow and blue cover is attractive, and the bird imagery on the cover is continued at the beginning of each chapter, which is a nice touch. Content, though, is the important thing. Dr. Sandie Freed does not disappoint in this area.
The book is written from a charismatic point of view, focusing upon the limitations that prevent a Christian from living out his full potential. She has written the book as a manual or how-to guide, complete with reflection questions at the end of each chapter. She addresses the reader directly. Her Scripture references are pertinent and accurate. She uses Bible stories and episodes from her own life to illustrate points, which really drives home the message in an easy to understand manner.
The gist of book is demonstrating how to overcome limitations that curtail the victorious Christian life. We are to live for God's glory. Basically, the point is that we (Christians) can and should overcome our barriers and stumbling blocks due to our identity in Christ. It is this identity that truly defines us and, to a large extent, determines or affects our abilities. She provides a honest look at how we should view the world and its problems--through a Christ-like/biblical lens. Many of us fail in this area, having grown complacent in the world. Sickness, sorrow, and failure are not natural to the world; they are a result of the Fall. God wants us to succeed according to His views of success and for His glory. Dr. Freed challenges us to view our life and limitation as Christ would. Again, our identity in Christ is the standard, not merely our human attributes and abilities. This is one of those things that should be obvious, but frequently is not due to complacency, ignorance, or distraction via being caught up in trying to accomplish things in our own power (the latter is my own challenge). I appreciate the way she lays things out in a simple and effective manner. Dr. Freed does not promise anything outrageous, but she does offer what is a life-changing strategy to the majority of Christians who live a vanilla life.
The book is relatively short. It would work well as a Sunday School or small group study. Of course, it can also be used by the individual. I heartily recommend this book to anyone frustrated with trying to accomplish everything solely on the basis of human wisdom and power, anyone who wishes to understand how God can work in his life to improve his efficacy and witness to God's power, to anyone yearning to allow God to eliminate or reduce the limitations habit and inertia have established in order to have a vibrant relationship with Christ and more joy in this world. Work your way carefully through Dr. Freed's book, reading and meditating upon the relevant Scriptures. It will change your life for the better.

This book is all about Experiencing God’s Transforming Power (from the subtitle), that is, how to experience it. And tucked away in the middle of the book the author reveals what she means by the main title. “It means that we let go of the limitations that hold us from receiving His truths.” (p. 125 and referring to the process of transformation by the renewing of our minds)
I found this book to be easy to read, understand and follow. It flows very well from one idea to the next. I was never confused. It contains lots of scriptures and a few stories here and there to illustrate the points.
This book is a teaching book. The author is attempting to transfer some of her revelation from God to us, the readers. I think she did an excellent job, too. I think this is true, in part, because the author is not merely espousing theories of Christianity but instead she is talking from experience. She includes some of her own testimonies of answered prayer that are indeed miraculous.
I found the reflection questions and suggested prayers that are included in almost every chapter very helpful. But I especially enjoyed chapter five on legalism vs. faith righteousness. That chapter is priceless. So needed. So misunderstood. Even if for some readers this chapter turns out merely to be a reminder for them, it is a much needed reminder due to the society in which we live (modern American Christendom).
I highlighted a lot of this book. This is definitely one book I will be going back to again and again and I plan on purchasing some of this author’s other books. Yes, it was that good.

Traditions, religion, legalism, and Satan have the potential to limit the transforming power of God. Dr. Sandie Freed urges her readers to let go of their limitations and rest in the grace of God. In other words, complete surrender.
She writes:
“Religion needs to die. Let’s not look any longer for rules we must try our best to keep. Rather, let us seek relationship. Our relationship with God is not fear-based; it is all faith-based–and without faith it is impossible to please Him. God has an abundant life planned for you!”
Freed has a conversation with the reader as she reminds the reader what she told the reader in the previous chapter and tells of future topics. I found myself skipping over the repetition and conversation-like sentences
Frequently, the author mentions a subject, writes a few sentences, and gives the title of her book where the reader can learn more.
Freed asks the reader to reflect upon her thoughts, her limitations, or her relationship with God and then write through the subject or write a prayer to God.
I can see this book being used as a women’s small group study. It is Scripturally based.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Chosen, a division of Baker Publishing Group, in exchange for my honest review.
There is a need for books like this in our modern world, however I found it reminded me a little of A.W Tozer's book "The Pursuit of God" at a much shallower level. I like the way the author brings readers to know they can "have life and have it more abundant", yet, I didn't feel it stir me in the same way I am when I read Smith Wigglesworth or A.W Tozer. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are my own.
We all have our own limitations. Limitations that hinders our growth in our walk with God and distracts our desire to go (hunger) deeper into knowing God. This book provide us with some clear understanding on the limitations that have been build up over our lives and how we can receive breakthrough and live life ever more abundantly.
