Aran Campion, an Irish girl with a good mind, is forced to leave school at a young age to help support her family. Her former teacher becomes a dear friend and her best support. When something goes wrong with her first job, she seeks refuge in distant London and her life takes a new direction.
When her first love affair ends, she is forced to make difficult decisions and live with the consequences.
I think one of the signs of a good book is its ability to make you feel things even if the things are remote to your own life. This book has that ability.
Very readable as all of the author’s books have been. Text flows well and the characters are well drawn. Perhaps a little simplistic but who doesn’t love a family story?
