USA Today and Amazon Top-10 bestselling author Leigh James brings the heat in this standalone small-town, billionaire romance! You'll want to pack your bags and move to Little Seal Island to meet a hot billionaire fisherman of your own. Let's goooo! :)

It was just supposed to be a summer fling...
Maran Riley's only on the island for the summer. She’s passing through on her way to a big-deal job as an attorney in Manhattan. But then she meets rugged, brawling, gorgeous, sexy billionaire Jack Brennan.

Maran likes Jack a little too much. Which is a bad thing, because he (a) fights all the time, (b) is emotionally unavailable, (c) is sexy as hell, (d) lives on a remote island in the middle of nowhere and (e) can't keep his hands off her.

Items (c) and (e) aren't really a problem—except that Maran's sworn off men for the summer. See also (a), (b), and (d).

Jack's not interested in a relationship. Never has been. But he somehow finds himself caught between protecting his family’s billion-dollar fishing business and a summer fling with Maran, aka Blondie—a fling that might just turn into something more.

The thing is, Jack doesn't want Something More. Jack has Other Things to Do besides fall in love. Like fight with rival fishermen. And keep himself emotionally unavailable. And live on a remote island in Maine where he can have his pick of the pretty summer tourists, but never fall in love.

But once he gets a taste of Maran, he won't ever be the same. Unfortunately for him, she's just a summer fling...

An island for those who have millions - or more than that - to enjoy the best things in life.

Maran wasn't on Little Seal Island because her family had millions. She went to her best friend Alex Vegas' wedding, but unfortunately the night before the wedding, Alex caught her fiancé Derek cheating on her and called it off.

Unlike Alex (who was living off the trust fund), Maran had well-established plans in life.

She had just finished law school and was about to prepare for the BAR, and already had a big firm in Manhattan waiting for her.

However, her time on the island decided to bring surprises.

Starting with her meeting Jack Brennan.

His family had become millionaires thanks to the local fishing. In addition to protecting the family's wealth, Jack had a principle of not getting emotionally involved with any woman and getting into trouble with his business competitor.

But after meeting Maran, and her cleverness helping his family's business, the couple gradually got closer to being together.

The biggest problem would be whether Maran would be willing to abandon the future she had so meticulously planned to be a big lawyer in Manhattan.

The couple has strong sexual chemistry, but I don't know if a long-term relationship would be in Jack's plans (Maran, on the other hand, would easily fall into his web of seduction).
Reading it is worth it for fun.

I read it because I needed something short and sweet and it was exactly that.

The story is cute. The summer island setting was fun. The spice was hot. I like that both MCs had to navigate what they wanted to do with their future individually.

Overall it was a fun little summer read.

In the end I always seem to struggle with the lack of depth and how quickly things are resolved at the end in these type of short books.

I love this book. It is such a sweet story. It is so easy to fall in love with these characters and their story. Even though it’s a quick read, the characters are well developed as well as the storylines and development throughout the story.

This is a perfect fit for readers who crave a swoon-worthy, small-town romance with a dash of drama, a strong-willed heroine, and a rugged, emotionally complex hero, all set against the picturesque backdrop of a charming Maine island.

Chaotic. The mmc is a douche and the fmc has no personality apart from being smart and poor. The whole plot is her trying to convince him that drowning another fisherman for being a major pain in the ass and sabotaging his livelihood is not a long-term solution and that, in fact, murder is illegal 😐 This book just left me indifferent.
