Destiny Ever-Changing

Rate this book
Some are destined for greatness . . . others for pure unadulterated misery.

After catching her boyfriend with another woman, Laura struggles with beginning again, knowing deep down that she is destined to be unhappily out of love for her entire life. Needing some time to recoup and formulate a game plan, she decides to visit her notoriously wise grandmother. But once there, a curveball in the form of a deliciously attractive stranger has her falling again.

Brooks is another story altogether. He is quite content with his life until his father forces him into a business decision that will ruin the rest of his life. As if his relationship with his father isn’t tumultuous enough, his new fiancé is making every waking moment a living hell and loving every manipulative minute of it.

When Laura stumbles upon her mother’s old journal, she opens a door into a long forgotten past. A past that somehow leads both Laura and Brooks into unfamiliar territory and changes everything they ever knew about fate.

Destiny is ever-changing, after all.

Tasha Ivey

Tasha Ivey is a literature fanatic, whose love for the written word fostered her development into the writer she has become. A lover of an extremely erratic mixture of literature, she has been influenced by authors from Jane Austen and E.M. Forster to Charlaine Harris and Alyson Noel. But her biggest influence and literary hero? Nicholas Sparks. Aside from writing, since she doesn't have anything other than a shriveled up prune on the left side of her brain, she prefers to spend her time being creative in other ways like painting, cake decorating, and various types of crafts. That is, if the constant voices streaming through her head allow her to stop making up stories for a while. Lucky for her, she has a huge supportive family, including her amazing husband and two kids, who doesn't complain too much when she hangs out with her characters more than she does with them. Sophie, the dog, however . . . she does complain. A lot.

Let me begin by saying I read this book as a Guest Reviewer for Sugar and Spice Book Reviews. Thank you ladies for giving me an opportunity to be a part of your review team.

Now, for my 5 STAR review. When I was awarded the opportunity to read this book as a guest reviewer for Sugar and Spice, I did not read the book overview. That would be a first for me. So with that said, I did not know what the book was about. Where to begin.......

First of all WOW!!! I believe this is one of the first books I have read in a long time without grammar mistakes...Don't get me wrong, most of the time I overlook them and still base my review on writing style, the flow of the book and the overall story are some that tops my criteria. With that said, Tasha Ivey has a WINNER.

This story is a TRUE ROMANCE with humor and angst mixed all together. I do have to say this is the first book that I have read lately that didn't have any steamy sex scenes involved but you didn't need it with this book. Tasha wrote this book in the present and the past and in Laura's POV and Brooks POV. Love books like this because you get the whole package. This story has love, romance, flirting, heartbreak, (etc. etc. etc.). Every emotion you can list. The book slowly brings you through Laura's journey of bad choices in men and trying to find out who she really is and where she wants to go after another bad relationship where she gives up herself and her life to pursue what she thought was love. After realizing her mistake, her new journey is to find out who she is and to figure out why she continues down a destructive road when it comes to romance... that is where Brooks comes into the picture. This is where I end my description, I don't want to give away any spoilers.....

So, this is a 5 STAR WINNER!! This book will not be a disappointment.....Congrats to Tasha!!!!

I like it.You get to read both POV but at some stage it is kind of like it is being repeated. But the romance between the H/H is just not exciting enough. The book is more on finding out about the journal which made me go on and finish the book.

Did I just seriously read that entire book?

I'm not sure I have ever had so much to complain about in one book.
To start off with, this book has the most ridiculous premise I have ever read. My main problem is with the pushover hero. There's no nice way to say it. Brooks is a pansy. He is not a man's man. His voice is like a 15 year old...whose English is his second language. Authors, contractions are good things, PLEASE put them in.
One of the first things we learn about Brooks is that he is being pressured into a marriage with a woman he hates and is ALREADY shamelessly cheating on him. He's going along with it like a martyr. Um...hell to the no. Brooks, at thirty years old, has none of his own cash, and feels suckered into the arrangement. No decent hero should be in that sort of predicament.

That's not the only problem with the book. The incessant recapping of events from both the hero and the heroine's POV of view got old, fast.
Need I go on? Stereotypical characters. The rich shallow ex-boyfriend is a, guess what? Rich shallow ex-boyfriend. What you see is what you get.
Finally, it's a true example of a cringe-worthy fest of cheesiness and nauseating insta-love.

"It's hard to believe that just one short year ago, we thought fate was out to get us. We thought we were doomed to a life of misery and disappointment. Isn't it funny how a little book can change everything?"

Laura left Baltimore for one reason. To get away from her cheating ex-boyfriend. Her plan? To pack up her few belongings, including a care-package box of grandma panties from her aunt, into her lemon of a vehicle and travel to Nana's house in Rock Cove, Virginia before returning home to Alabama. As Laura approaches the last few miles of her trip, an unexpected flat tire halts her in front of a beach house and...a handsome gardener. She had only planned to stay a few days, but after finding a box containing a journal and other memorable tokens from her mother's past, Laura decides to let her mother lead her on a new journey about understanding first loves.

Brooks, or should I say Joshua Brooks Tucker Jr., is handsome, but not a gardener. He, along with other family members, are following the legacy of his father's oil company based out of Texas. Rich, successful, loyal, and instilled with hard-working ethic, providing reason to tend his own yard work. From the outside, Brooks appears to have the perfect life. Great job in the lucrative, family business, beautiful sea-side home, loyal friends, beautiful fiance...Well, beautiful on the outside at least. Although those close to him including his sister, Ashton, and best friend, Will, know that Brooks is suffering from the deal he was forced to agree to by his father. The deal will bind Brooks to his over-privileged, conniving, childhood friend Jacqueline in matrimony long enough to seal the deal for his father to buyout Jacqueline's family's oil company. But Brooks only wanted to get down on one knee one time in his life, and it depressed him to think he would give that up to Jacqueline. He saw himself proposing to someone like Laura. Laura's natural appearance and easy-going personality immediately stole Brooks' attention. Even after the spare was on and she was on her way, Brooks couldn't get her name and face off of his mind.

Destiny Ever-Changing met many of my expectations. A love story with endearing female/male leads, comical and lovable supporting characters, and heartwarming ties to the past makes this story a sweet and easy, afternoon read. Walks along the beach, conversations in a secret cave, even the entries in Laura's mother's journal will put you at home with the characters. Personally, I wanted to give this story 4 stars, but there were a few confusing and missing elements. The romantic theme of the story would have played much better as a young-adult novel, but since the characters were written in post-college years, this was a bit confusing. Other than a minor-racy scene with supporting characters, the storyline remains PG-13. As far as a missing element, I wanted to read more in to the Laura's mother's journal. The adventures she took with her first love took Laura on a mini-adventure, but I was left wanting more. Also, the pace of the story felt as if this would be a duet series. Around the 60% point, I just knew it was going to be made into a sequel, since there were so many different stories to tell and ends to tie up. When I arrived at the epilogue, I was shocked. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I didn't want the story to end! I love a happy ending, but I love a drawn out happy ending even better ;-)

Bottom line. You'll fall in love with Brooks. You'll hate Jacqueline. You'll definitely want to keep an eye out for more from Tasha Ivey.

Destiny by definition: something that is to happen or has happened to a particular person or thing; lot or fortune. the predetermined, usually inevitable or irresistible, course of events. the power or agency that determines the course of events.

Well I can honestly say that all of the above were and are correct at some point in this first novel by Tasha Ivey. Tasha has done a great job in her first go round in the self-publishing world.
As the story beings we find Laura who has literally found her boyfriend Alex cheating on her with another woman. Caught with his hand in the cookie barrel Alex doesn't have a leg to stand on when it comes to Laura's decision to leave him. She has been unhappy and had a way of finding the worst men most of her life. She feels she is destined to be along and unhappy for the rest of her life. As she loads her car and heads for home she decides she can't face it and heads to the sleepy beach front town her grandmothers lives in. I fell in love with her grandmother, even though the woman didn't say much what she did say always made a lot of sense... It made me really miss my grandmothers who have been gone a fairly long time for me. Grandmothers always have a way of making you feel better and usually it's with food...

Brooks is born into money, power and dominance. A father that is willing to risk the happiness of his own child to solidify a business deal and gobble up the competition leads Brooks to a future that he neither wants or desires, but to protect others he is willing to be the sacrificial lamb. This is were we meet he beautiful on the outside but gold digging bitch Jacqueline. I used to love that name, makes me think of the poise and beauty of Jacqueline Kennedy, however this Jacqueline makes me want to rip every last piece of blonde hair from her head... WOW Tasha created one of the most self-centered people that I think I've had the pleasure of reading in a book. Some of the other bloggers were chatting and we have our plan to join up with Laura and take this girl down a peg... You will hate this character with passion, trust me! Brooks is sent to live with this ungodly woman for a few months before their unptuials are to take place, but everything changed the minute that he lays eyes on Laura...

As Laura's misfortune continues while rolling into town, her fate is decided and her every-changing destiny is sent into a tailspin, when the help of a stranger comes to her rescue...
My heart broke for both characters in this book. Tasha takes a good amount of time building this story. I was happy that even though it was an instant attraction it took them a long time to decide what was really right for them. Their connection was undeniable.

The journal that she finds from her mother was a great touch. Though I do have to say I sort of figured it out very early on what the outcome was going to be, I didn't mind the journey getting me there. I have a tendency to think ahead sometimes and I am always looking for the angle in the book, trying to figure it out. There were enough surprises in this book that I wasn't expecting, to keep me turning those pages at 1 AM...

Tasha does a good job keeping you on your toes. I would have liked the book to have been a little bit longer and learned a lot more about Brooks and Laura. I felt a little bit like it was rushed at the end and it could have had a little bit more development, nut it was a solid read and I was glad that this one fell into my lap. I highly recommend it, very sweet story. Her writing is very clean which is a blessing. She has a well thought out storyline for a first time author. Kudos Tasha for a great read, can't wait for the sequel and our day at the beach with Jacqueline... hahaha... I give this one a solid 4 Stars and look forward to more by this author in the future...

"Love has no concept of time. When it happens, it happens, and if it's meant to be, it will be."

Laura has been through a bad break-up, is lost, and heads to her Nana's beach house in Virginia to get herself together. Right as she gets into town, she meets Brooks and shares a funny encounter. From the start, they have a connection. But Brooks has many secrets. He has his own issues and his life is on a course that makes him miserable. But they keep crossing paths and the more they do, the more they like each other.

Brooks is a good guy. He tried to do the right thing even though he was in a bad situation. He was sweet, protective, witty, and vulnerable. Erin is funny, intelligent, shy, but does have a back bone. They have chemistry and a longing for each other, but are too good to act on it. They are both broken and hurt, but become a postive influence on each other.

He is exceptionally kind, and he seems genuine and good-hearted--when he's not being grouchy and despondent. I hardly know anything about him, but I can't explain why I felt immediately drawn to him when we met. I have never felt anything like that with any man I have ever dated.

I'm not sure what it is about her, but I have an overwhelming desire to protect her. I hardly know her, but I know she's unlike any other woman I have ever met. She's not confident at all, and she seems very shy. She doesn't even appear to be aware of how beautiful she is.

They both really need a friend and begin to open up. They know it is not possible for them to be together, but they just can't stay away. They have a good rapport, sense of humor, trust each other enough to share their secrets, and care enough to try to do what is best for the other.

But the situation seems hopeless and Brooks has such toxic people interfering in his life. I seriously wanted slap the makeup right off Jacqueline's face and smack his father over the head with a heavy object. I felt so bad for poor Brooks and he did not deserve to be in the situation he was in. But he also had a great support system in his best friend Will and his sister Ashton. They were protective, supportive, humorous but have their own set of issues as well.

"That sounds like something out of a movie!"
"But usually a movie like this has a fairytale ending," he rebuts. "I'm almost certain that my movie is a horror story."

But will meeting the right person at the wrong time in the most desperate of circumstances be a blessing or a curse? And will they be able to come out of the situation together or completely broken and more miserable than before they met?

This book engaged me from the beginning. I loved the development of Brooks and Erin's friendship and their adventures. I also loved Erin's journey as she discovers more about her mother's past as she reads her journal. I adored Nana. She was the perfect, smart, feisty Grandma. It all flowed at a perfect pace, made me get invested in the characters, and hope that they could find a way. I enjoyed getting both points of view and having the window into the past as well.

...one thing about destiny...it's ours to change.

This book just totally touched me. It was heartbreaking, sweet, uplifting, and brought tears to my eyes. It is about taking risks, finding your own way, and finding hope. I loved everything about it and it was a perfect Sunday afternoon read. I am looking forward to to book 2 about Will and Ashton.

***3.5 Kisses from Brooke at Book Bitches Book Blog***

When the blog was approached with this ARC I jumped on it. What gripped me was the title-Destiny Ever-Changing. I thought to myself, “What a promising title.” I wasn’t too far off to be honest. There were ups, downs, and in-betweens for me in this book. There were things I loved, things I liked, and things that I felt were maybe a little…convenient? Let me elaborate. But keep in mind, I did enjoy this book.

We meet Laura Carey, parentless, mid-twenties girl, who seems to find nothing but the worst men when it comes to relationships. After catching her lawyer boyfriend of six months being a little too friendly with another woman, Laura decides it might be time to go back home to her family and get a fresh start. With a sudden change of heart while driving home, she veers in the direction of her Nana’s house on the coast of Virginia. As fate would have it--with the help of a flat tire--Laura meets Brooks Tucker.

Brooks has secrets and problems of his own. The biggest being a major ‘business transaction’ that is utterly ruining his life and to top it all off, his own father is behind it. Brooks’ is being forced into something he wants no part of but doesn’t really see an easy way out…well any way out really. With Laura Cary suddenly making her way into Brooks’ life, he feels it’s necessary to share his secrets with her. That’s what “friends” do right? But I think we all know that this friend thing isn’t going to cut it!

I fell in love with Laura and Brooks and I found myself anxious to see where Laura’s next adventure might take her-thanks to her mother’s old journal from when she was a teenager- hoping that these adventures would, like they usually did, somehow end up with her running into Brooks. With Brooks’ current situation and the whole “business transaction” risking getting in the way and ruining everything, will Laura stick around and endure a ‘friendship’—especially when they are so many unspoken emotions and feelings?

My only issues with this book were the multiple conveniences and a few things I just found to be maybe a little…ummm…reaching??….things happening, finding things, running into someone, certain occurrences and even the ending. Don’t get me wrong, this didn’t take that much away from the story for me….I actually teared up on more than one occasion toward the end of the book. I think this is a very emotional book with a gripping story line. You can’t help but fall in love with the characters and you pull for them from the moment the wind catches those nude-colored, high-waisted panties and sends them flying! (Just read the book…you will understand).

Overall, Destiny Every Changing was a good, heart-gripping novel that you can’t help but like. The author keeps you on the edge and hoping…wanting…praying until the very end. At one point I was like “COME ON ALREADY!” I wanted to scream at Laura and shake some sense into her. But, thankfully…….well, just go buy the book and read it! You won’t be disappointed.

Favorite quotes from the book:

“To tequila…because dealing with jealousy while completely sober is overrated.” ~Ashton Tucker- Brooks’ sister (by the way…I loved her)

“Even if we can’t be together, even if you don’t love me, you will always have my heart. I can only dream that, someday, I’ll have yours.” ~Brooks Tucker

“…but we did learn one thing about destiny…it is ours to change.” ~Laura

WOW!!! This book is absolutely amazing. It is so well written that you feel more like you are in a movie then actually reading a book. I was hooked the moment that I read the first page. It is definitely one of those books that you cannot put down. So be prepared when you start to dedicate you time because it is impossible to stop once you have started. With this book you are never bored. You are always wondering what will happen next. Destiny Ever-Changing will take you through a roller coaster of emotions. I laughed, cried and even wanted to beat the tar out of the infamous Alex.

Laura Carey is one of those girls that would automatically be someone you would consider an awesome friend. She is so loving and caring you can't help but feel for her and love her. She is one of those friends that you would never want to lose. Of course, as you know the good always finish last. It is very unfortunate for her the situations life has handed her. Laura never sunk into a black hole she just pulled up her big girl panties and tried to take life by the horns. When she caught Alex cheating on her I wanted to crawl in the book and choke him myself. He is just one of those types of guys that get under your skin a complete egomaniac. In so many words Laura told him to stick his head where the sun doesn't shine. (You Go Girl!!!!) Wanting to escape what her life had turn into she was heading back home but detoured to her Nana's home. This is where she learns a lot about her mother and finds her mother's old journal and she tries to repair her life buy trying to live in her mother's journal entries. This is definitely where you will need the tissues. Right down the road from her Nana's house is where she meets Brooks. (Swoon)

Brooks is just one of those drop dead gorgeous men and he has no idea of how awesome he is. Being pushed into a terrible situation by his father he is completely miserable. His fiancée Jacqueline is quite a piece of work and it seems her whole objective is to make him absolutely miserable. She is a very unlikeable twit. As you can tell I'd like to stick her in the same place I want to stick Alex. When you think about it you need to have those kinds of people pass you by in life to make you appreciate those who genuinely do care. My heart absolutely broke for Brooks. Brooks is the man that every deserving woman is looking for handsome, sweet, caring, protective and loving. I fell in love with him from the beginning. He is incredibly awesome. I am telling you when you get to the point of the books where they meet you will be hysterical. Even in his sullen state you love him.

It is true that destiny is ever changing you never know what fate can bring you. Fates definitely has plans for Laura and Brooks, but are those plans the ones that they want? Are they the ones that will make them happy? Does destiny always bring people together romantically or just as friends? I guess you are going to have to read this amazing story to find out how this books ends. Destiny Ever-Changing has absolutely moved to my top 10 favorite books. It will grab a hold of your soul and make you feel things that you may have never thought were there. I cannot express enough nor do enough justice for this book. It is absolutely an amazing read I would strongly suggest that you ass this to you TBR list. This is one book that you will never regret reading. I am so happy that I had the chance to read this book.

Destiny Ever-changing is a heart-warming read! There are several elements that blended together make such an enjoyable story. Several days after finishing it, I'm still thinking about this story, these characters...it was touching. It's a beautiful rendering of two people set on separate paths, finding their way to one another as their destinies change and their paths merge into one.

Laura Carey finds herself on a path in life she is not happy with. She's just found out her boyfriend cheated on her and is leaving him. As she makes her way out of Baltimore not knowing where she's heading, she decides two things: she's going to go stay with her grandma to get some non-judgmental life advice and she's going to get her life on track. Her grandma is more than happy to help her along on this quest. One of the tools in this quest is Laura's mom's journal. Laura's mom (both parents, actually) died tragically when Laura was young. This journal will enable Laura to get to know her mom in a way she wasn't able to. The first night after reading a journal entry, Laura dreams of her mom. In the dream, Laura's mom, Regina, seems to be asking her to follow her. Thus, Laura embarks on a mission of sorts. She sets out to re-create the activities her mom lived as recorded in the journal. Through this mission, Laura hopes to figure out the path her mom seems to be trying to point her towards.

Brooks Tucker meets Laura as she rolls into town...with a flat tire. (She just happens to stop in front of his house.) Brooks has been living a life he is happy with. But he's recently found himself blown off that path - and not by his choosing. His father is forcing him into a marriage for financial reasons. And Brooks is less than thrilled but has agreed to it in order to protect his siblings. Meeting Laura seems like the perfect distraction from his own problems. But as he helps Laura along on her mission and gets to know her better, he find his predicament quite painful.

However, through Regina's journal and some revelations contained therein, Laura and Brooks realize they are more in control of their futures than they believed.

As I said, all the elements of this story combined for an interesting read. I liked the "supernatural" element of Laura's mom seemingly communicating from beyond. I liked the idea that every love a person experiences teaches about the nature of love as well as revealing something of ourselves. I also liked the notion that although fate may have a hand in our lives, our destinies are our own. And I delighted in the fact that Brooks and Laura, despite thinking their paths diverged, stumbled onto the right path to end up together...where they belonged. Overall, I loved this debut novel and look forward to future reads from Tasha.

Favorite Quotes:
"Love doesn't have anything to do with where you go together or what you buy one another. Love is spending time with each other and wanting to know every hope, desire, and dream...you want nothing more than to learn everything you can about the other person. And when you have that, nothing else matters."

"...no matter where life takes us, no matter where we end up, you will be the one I'm thinking of...you will be the one that I will always love. Don't ever forget..."

Tasha Ivey’s debut Novel “Destiny Ever-changing” was a perfect chick-flick book to curl up on the couch with. This was a very refreshing read for me. I have been reading either darker subject matters or major hot & steamy books (not that there is anything wrong with that LOL), but this was a pleasant change of pace…..that I just need sometimes.
There were so many things that I really enjoyed about this story. First I will say, Tasha tells a beautiful story and it was very easy to follow along. Second, this is definitely a love-story….and it was SWEET and kept me reading (even though I figured out the way things were going to turn out, it was really fun getting there).
The story is told in both Laura and Brooks points of view, which you may know by now that I do like, so that I can get into both of the characters heads (and I found it was definitely worth getting a look into Brooks’ head – otherwise, I may not have liked him as much). Tasha had the ability to make me easily like the characters I was supposed to and really dislike others. Specifically, I can picture and hear Brooks’ fiancé in my head! Well done Tasha!
As always, I do not want to give anything away, but since this is mentioned in the blurb I feel comfortable doing so……..I really loved the journal part of this book. It reminds me of going through some of my grandmother’s old keepsakes (photos and some journal entries)….now if only my grandmother was more specific in her journal!
I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed reading this book. I was going to say that I could totally see a sequel or novella to this book based on some of the secondary characters, BUT, I found out recently from Tasha that a sequel is in the works with exactly the characters I thought could work! I will certainly be putting that book, as well as other future books that Tasha will be releasing in the future onto my to-read list!
My favorite quote: “Regret won’t get me anywhere. I’m finally learning that the decisions that I have made are shaping me into a new person, and I am okay with that”.

**4.5 out of 5 Stars**

I love a good heartfelt romance, they are my absolute favourite kind of read. Destiny Ever-Changing, the debut novel by Tasha Ivey is just that! Tasha Ivey is one author to watch out for, seriously! I started this novel with every intention of reading for an hour, unfortunately for my family I got sucked in and didn’t put it down until I was finished. A truly fabulous read!!

Destiny Ever-Changing is a beautifully written modern love story that pulled at my heartstrings. The main characters of Laura and Brooks have both had more than their fair share of bad luck in the love department. There is nothing complicated about either of these characters, they are both lovable and very well developed and were such a joy to read about, I dare you not to fall in love with either one of them. Be warned, Brooks will melt your hear. Another new book boyfriend *swoons*!

Destiny Ever-Changing has an amazing feel to it. The story is easy to follow and kept me wanting more. I really enjoyed the fact that there wasn’t any swearing in this novel, I have to admit I can’t remember the last novel I read with out any bad language in it. I also enjoyed that this brilliant romance was told without using sex as a filler! I find that there are a so many novels today that have so much sex in them that there really is no story! Not the case with Destiny Ever-Changing! I didn’t feel that there was a single thing missing from this novel, it is all story! It was intense and had my emotions all over the place, but most of all it had me falling in love.

Are you a hopeless romantic like me, looking for a beautiful romance that will take you on an amazing journey where you will laugh and cry, where your heart will ache for what it can’t have and at the end of the journey, you will want to live it all over again because it was so amazing?? Destiny Ever-Changing is a read you do not want to miss out on.

An ARC copy was supplied to me in exchange for an honest review.

Love this debut by Tasha Ivey! Laura is unlucky in love. She just can't seem to make the right connect, always falling for the wrong guy and the right time. After another failed relationship Laura leaves Baltimore to head back home to Alabama. Along the way she decides to stop by her Nana's house in North Carolina. Almost to her destination, she gets a flat tire but is soon rescued by a gardener for the house where she broke down. The only thing is the gardener is not really a gardener but Brooks Tucker, a wealthy son of an Oil Tycoon. Brooks is in NC with Jacqueline, his "fiance", and not by choice. He has been forced into a marriage in order for his dad to overtake her family's business. Jacqueline is cold and heartless and could careless about Brooks and his feelings.

Laura finds herself running into Brooks on more than one occasion and even those they have an attraction, they decide to just be friends. I really can't say too much more without giving the book away. But I loved this book. Laura uses her mother's old diary in search of her own love making this a heartwarming, lovable book. There is laughable moments, moments of heartache and redemption. Making this a well rounded book in my opinion. The book also wraps up nicely not leaving you hanging (although I hear there may be a book 2 in the series) Full of characters that hook you from the start (including Brooks best friend Will and his sister Ashton) it is a book that will not leave you disappointed! Go buy this book!

I started reading this book without reading the blurb about it and was pleasantly surprised. I love Laura!! I'm glad the prologue was just that-because I didn't get a good vibe from Alex-so I'm glad Laura stuck to her guns regarding him--off to bigger & better things. Laura has not experienced the best of luck regarding her past relationships so she's off to her Grandma's to do some soul-searching. By 7% I was laughing my ass off!! Enter Brooks--just his name sounds H-O-T, right? Brooks is also not happy with where his life is headed and thinks he's doomed to be unhappy. The trials & tribulations in this book including the manipulative counterparts show a heck of a ride to get through. The journey of finding one's destiny is beautiful and sometimes it's fought against due to fear. I love the message behind the "treasure hunt" Laura goes in search of and how this hunt ties all the aspects of the story together nicely. This was a great read as it held all the qualities of two people desiring true love, the manipulative villain, and the backstabbing ex. There's true heart in the words spoken between the characters which had me shedding tears of happiness at times and laughter out loud in others. Give it a try!

I am such a sucker for a love story and Destiny Ever – Changing gave me just that. Tasha Ivey gives us a story of two people that have given up on the fact that love is easy. But to tell the truth anything worth having never is. When Laura seeks the comforts of home from her Nana, she finds Brooks “popping” into her life. Both Laura and Brooks struggle with the feelings this meet queue created. While Laura is looking to find herself Brooks is just trying to survive. As the story unfolds both learn that destiny has plans that either one of them planned on.

This is a true love story! I feel in love with Brook. He is a stand up man trying to do the right thing even at the cost of his own happiness. Hello what’s not to LOVE!!! I enjoyed the fact that you are able to see this story unfold through his eyes as well as Laura. Both of their personal stories differ but through their pain they find that they cannot fight was destiny has in store. Destiny Ever – Changing is a must read for all hopeless romantics! You will love the story and Tasha’s twist on a modern day love story.

This is such a adorable story. Laura moves to Baltimore for her lawyer boyfriend Alex who is the typical lawyer who is selfish and breaks Laura heart by cheating on her throughout their entire relationship.
Laura makes a last minute choice to visit her nana. On her way to her grandmothers she gets a flat tire that's when fate steps in and she meets brooks.
Brooks has been hating life took frustration of a force engagement to a women of his father business rival.
Fate introduces Laura and brooks the attraction is there right off the bat.wont ruin it for you but things work out for them with the help of Laura's mother journal who bring a fater back to his children and true love together!

I enjoyed this read. It was simple and quick. I didnt care a great deal for the storyline but it didnt stop me from reading it. I at least finished it and that says alot for me since I havent been able to even finish quite a few books lately because they were so bad. I will read more from this author because she has great potential.

This is a quick, sweet read. It had some funny moments, so it definitely kept me entertained. The character development was good. There a few times in the book where I didn't really connect with what was happening, but not on the important parts.

Best thing I've read in a while! Not over-sexed like the majority of romance novels these days. Just a touching, sometimes gut-wrenching love story! I'm looking forward to more from this author!
