What an amazingly powerful book. I couldn't put this title down. It is about the power of friendship and how that can heal even the most painful trauma's life brings you. This book is a must read for anyone who has gone through a painful experience in their lives. I laughed, cried, and cringed in fear. Great book by a great author.

Running From Beige is an inspirational story for women who have suffered, or are suffering, abuse by the hands of a person who is meant to love them. Terri Marie takes you on a journey of love, hope and loyalty. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for the second book of the series to be released.

I picked up this book because of its subject matter - domestic abuse. As a survivor, I have never read a first-person account book, fiction or non-fiction. It's graphic with vivid details that an abused woman or a survivor of domestic violence will recognize all too well. There's no sugar-coating here. The author is brave enough to put it all out there for her readers and I'm thankful that I bought it.

Yes, it took me right back to some unbearable days, some terrifying moments, some horrifying acts of violence - BUT it sure opened my eyes. How lucky I am to have survived. My heart bleeds again, renewed, for those who didn't and aches again for those who still long to be set free, who don't see a way out, who can't find the strength or the means to flee and forever rid herself of the horror. Yes, Terri Marie has opened my eyes. Wonderful story. I hope it inspires other readers as much as it did me. Maybe all of us can do our own part to help end domestic abuse - volunteer, lobby, use our voices, talents, whatever we can give. Every abused woman should read it. Every peer counselor, every women's shelter employee, every recovering abuser. Excellent.

This was a book that I am glad I read. It's about domestic abuse. Domestic abuse isn't always wife beating. It's lack of love, a lot of lack of love. It can be about making your wife the maid and having an affair/plural to replace your wife, even though she cooks you a hot dinner.

The author said it took 3 yrs to write. I thought it was well written, except for the part where Suzy sleeps with the guy toward the end. Maybe that is used in the next book, I don't know.

This book is something all women should read. If you have a wonderful husband, great, but you should be aware of what a lot of women go through. The seminar at the hotel seemed very real. I bet it was an actual real life event! I like the way the author shows the different endings for all three women. They are all distinct and different.

I recommend this book very highly.

I read Running from Beige with a lot of interest because the women in the book had some of the experiences I had in my younger years. They were abused both verbally and physically. The three women came together and formed a close family, but they made it better by seeing therapists and doctors, which I believe is a necessity for anyone who has suffered these kind of things. Obviously, the author knew about her subject because when I was reading, it was as if I were feeling everything these women felt. She is a talented writer and I look forward to reading more of her books. I would especially recommend it for anyone in a bad situation because reading it can be theraputic, but it is an interesting and valuable book for anyone to read and own.

Yet again, Terri keeps you interested!! I could not put this book down, I went through a lot of emotions reading this book! Not a dried eye throughout the whole entire book!! Some sad tears and some happy tears! Running from Beige is an excellent book to raise awareness of all types of abuse. Everyone should read this, whether you are or not being abused in any way. The story will help you understand and to look out for the signs. Let's not only help ourselves, but others who might possibly be going through this sad situation! No one deserves being abused! You will not be disappointed! Buy this book, and then share this book!

WOW!!! This book had me laughing, crying, wanting me to scream, and cheer out loud. This story is about 3 women overcame many obstacles to become strong independent women. Connie and Suzy are best friends in loveless relationships with their husbands. About to give up, they go to a self help seminar to help them become stronger women. There they meet Karen, who attends for courage and strength to help get out of an abusive relationship. These women form a bond that cannot be broken, as they help each other deal with everything that life throws at them. I love this book and encourage anyone going through domestic violence, no matter what form, reads this book!!!

I found this to be one of the most powerful books I've ever read. This is a story about the many facets of abuse, the struggle of three women to over come their difficult journeys, and develop the strength, hope, and knowledge through sisterhood, to live a better life. I cried, I laughed and most importantly, I cheered all three of these women on. Honestly, all women should read this.

Running from Beige follows three women's stories out of troubled marriages, all the while supporting each other. The author did an excellent job of handling the subject of domestic violence and conveying a message of hope and sisterhood among women, helping each other. This is an emotional tale I'd recommend to anyone looking to start anew or to those who want to help them.

I AM IN AWE
5 Stars cause 10 isn’t an option

“Sometimes you can be stabbed with knives and daggers without them ever touching your skin.” This is a quote from the book. This quote and many others will bring tears to your eyes, joy into your heart, and hope into your soul. This entire book brought out so many wild emotions within me. I am in love with these women, their story, and the way I could completely relate to each and every one of them.

I strongly recommend this book to anyone (man or woman) who has ever been wounded, physically or mentally. Who has ever felt like they weren’t good enough, or who has ever needed a little encouraging to get them through some tough times. This story made me look at my own life and I’m grateful to Terri for sharing this story with me.

Most people will look at you, but never SEE you… Never see what’s going on behind your eyes. To some you may seem happy, and maybe you are, but others will see the hurt. The pain that may have been put there years ago or as recent as yesterday, but whatever or whoever, you need to know that there are people out there just like you. There are people who would lay down their money, their time, and even their life for you. I feel a book quote coming, lol… “That’s what sisters are for, to love you until you can love yourself.”

“Don’t ever let anyone pretend they can handle the responsibility of making and keeping you happy.” ANOTHER quote from the book… WE are all responsible for our OWN happiness. God, I love this book!

This story is an enlightening journey of old friends and new. I immediately connected with Connie & Suzy and eventually Karen. Their lives, their pain became mine to carry. I was invested in them the minute I picked this book up to read. From their lowest points to their highest, I was there! I felt it all and cried right along with them. I laughed through tears and felt my heart fill with hope. I wish I could read this again for the first time. This book will stay with me for the rest of my days.

This wasn't the best book in the world. There weren't nearly the amount of grammar and spelling issues I have seen in a lot of books lately. In fact, the writing was okay. The plot was okay. Dialogue was okay. The suspense and humor levels were okay.

If you have been in abusive relationships and have survived and grown stronger, you may not need this book. If you find yourself in a boring marriage, or feel abused physically, emotionally, sexually this book may help you feel some hope. Watching the womyn bond and become sisters who overcome the beige in their lives is what kept me reading.

BUT...What would have made this book superb? A bibliography of helpful books, a list of resources to help womyn get out of abusive circumstances. PLEASE! Terri Marie you have a book every womyn should read, young or old or in between. You made the reader aware of problems and gave them hope. Please take the next step and gather all the resources you can to reach out to those womyn who don't know a Linda or of a seminar for womyn.
