I am a writer who craves to create literary experiences that makes you question your beliefs. I want to push you out of your safety zone. I want you to walk away from reading my fiction and feel, "I am that person," no matter how ugly or scary the character may be.
Why? Because that's what I want to experience as a reader of my work.
I use my fiction as a way to see myself beyond what I present. I hunger for a connection that feels real. Dark romance is the canvas but the paint is how I use the words.
You will never find easily identifiable characters in the hero and villain roles. There are none. Every character is wicked and pure. Just like me. Just like you.
I loved the way the plot unfold so gradually it was almost maddening to read. Each character was solid, well defined and the author has such pathos for them that, no matter how 'evil' (I use the term loosely) they may be, the reader can always empathize which is, of course, as it should be in a world filled with shades of gray.
One aspect of Claudia's writing style has always stuck out for me and that's the way she writes of the helplessness of human emotions and passions - their uncontrollable and irrepressible nature - so well through the use of the inner monologue and reminiscences spliced into the flow of the prose. Little flashes of information that bring the characters to life so simply and so completely.
