The Vampire Royals have called for my mate and me. The Princes of Hell have begun claiming their new kingdoms. And I still have to find the rest of the Vindix . Los Angeles has fallen to the Royals of Hell and the remaining six princes of the underworld have yet to claim their territories. What city will be next? No one knows, and no one is safe from the seven Princes of Hell and their followers. As for me, I have a job to do—find the rest of the Vindix . But first, I’ve been summoned. The vampire royals in Isila have demanded Tobias and I journey to Isila. So we journey to Isila, a realm as dangerous as our own and, wouldn’t you know it, chaos that will change the course of my mission ensues. Kingdoms of Sin is book five in the Coven of Shadows and Secrets Series, a slow burn urban fantasy romance series with fated mates, sky-high stakes, and a coven unlike any other.
Ashley lives in the lush and green Pacific Northwest with her husband, their dog, and the house ghost that sometimes makes appearances in her charming, old home. When she’s not writing urban fantasy and portal fantasy novels she enjoys traveling the world, reading, kicking butt at board games (she recommends Splendor and Dominion), and frequenting taquerias. This is book five of the Coven of Shadows and Secrets and the group are about to be split into different directions at a vital time, as the Princes of Hell have taken over five cities across the world, same as Wrath did with Los Angeles, with two more demon princes to claim cities still. As the seeker, Meredith’s most important role is to find the rest of the Vindix, those who are the keepers of the lapis caelesti, and ensure they all, including her, are trained to use their stones in the fight against the Princes of Hell, by the secret Abscondita Coven. The sacred stones made by angels, are the only source of power strong enough to defeat the evil that has come to this world. The group have been betrayed by members of their own Coven of Shadows and Secrets, such as Silas, and Hans had his wizard magic taken by Brons, after being tricked into a Vow of Intent. This has left him with only his Hellblooded demon magic to access, something he had always kept secret from everyone and isn’t used to using. Meredith’s family pack were attacked by demon wisps who possessed most of the pack. Harper was told to run with her younger siblings by their mother and feels guilty for doing so but she can’t really look after them, but is happy for them to be taken to the realm of Isila, where Gunner’s pack have Wolvea contacts.
Gunner gets Harper to pretend they are together, not wanting any inhabitants of Isila to think he is available, as a prince of the Wolvea. The two get a lot closer as she settles her twin brothers and younger sister under the care of his father and their pack. She is still concerned about her mother, not knowing if she survived or was also possessed, but has to find out if she is Wolvea herself, with her ability to call her ancestors like her mother, or if she has witch in her. She had always thought of herself as fully wolf, but now questions are raised about her having witch powers! Tobias has been called back to the Blood Court on Isila by the king and queen of the vampires and they have only seven days to arrive. However, their journey there is made a lot harder than it should have been, as the portal they expected to use has been closed and now they have to take a much longer method and count on a new skill Hans is only just learning how to use. Tobias knows that the king and queen may not release him and especially Meredith because of her being a seeker witch, so he asked Hans and Shay to come with them. They have well-known and powerful parents and the Blood Court won’t want to mess with them. Tobias also needs his sister Serena to help him, but she travels separately to cover their backs and has a vision of how they might be able to leave, once their fated status has been seen by the king and queen.
Most of this book covers these two main trips, as well as the intense training the Vindix are forced to undergo at the coven, but these trips leave them short of time, something those in charge are not too happy with. Another Vindix is found close to them, and right in the middle of a dangerous situation, Meredith is able to sense yet another Vindix somewhere close by, but it will not be easy to get them out with them, that’s for sure. Tobias neglected to tell any of them of the true horrors of the vampire city and how humans and fae are treated. There is more also on the specific abilities each of the Vindix are expected to learn to use from their lapis carlesti, and also the advantages they get of travelling through the use of the light travel stones they managed to obtain. Luca, the leader of the Coven of Shadows and Secrets, but is still recovering from his injuries and has to stay behind at the Abscondita Coven with the others. Still so much more to come and an unhappy leadership role for one of the Vindix, who believes themselves totally unsuited to it! How far the group will allow the Princes of Hell to take over the world with their Hellborn, before they can take any action, probably needs Meredith to find the last of the Vindix so they can combine and be strong enough. I can’t wait for the finale! I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
Kingdoms of Sin is the fifth book in the Coven of Shadows and Secrets series by Ashley McLeo. Kingdoms of Sin started off with a blast and never let up. It pulled me deep into its world the moment I read that first page. It had me mesmerized from beginning to end. Once I picked it up I didn’t want to lay it down until I had read every word but unfortunately, life does get in the way on occasion.
The Coven of Shadows and Secrets series just seems to get better and better with each book. Kingdoms of Sin had me in suspense from the moment I started reading it. With each word I read, I had more questions that I needed or wanted the answers to very badly and I wanted them now I couldn’t turn those pages fast enough.
We get to see the world of Kingdoms of Sin through many different characters' eyes. I like reading stories like this as I do like knowing what all the characters are doing and what is going on in their parts of the story and how they are dealing with their troubles.
The world-building for Kingdoms of Sin more than amazed me it was so captivating. Kingdoms of Sin is so well written that I had no problem seeing it all in my head as if I was watching a movie. And speaking of movies I sure would like to see Coven of Shadows and Secrets made into a movie or TV show.
The seven Princes of Hell are trying to make their way to Earth and take over. Some cities have already fallen into their hands. In the meantime, Meredith and Tobias have been summoned to another realm/world to visit with the King and Queen.
Neither want to go with demons trying to take over the world but are given no choice in the matter. They are to go or die. The thing is they could die if they go as this is a very bad realm with vampires plus many more kinds of creatures. I like these vampires or the twist that Ashley has put on them.
I highly recommend Kingdoms of Sin to all paranormal fans! Grab your copy of Kingdoms of Sin today for more rip-roaring scary fun with magic, demons, vampires, and more!
I Loved this book especially the beginning when we had the What Happened Before chapter, it was really helpful after waiting for the next book in the series.
This series just gets better.
I enjoyed this book immensely it took us away from the immediate danger of the Princes of Hell taking over the World to the Realm of Isila and the Blood court as the King and Queen summon Tobias and Meredith as they are now “Mates” and they also know she is the Seeker as they probed the mind of Giselle Tobias’s Maker.
They do not have a choice they must go, but something or someone seems to be trying to prevent them getting there by the time they are given as they found all the nearby Portals closed, but they are helped by Tobias’s sister Serena. Shay and Hans go with them as backup and will protect Meredith at all costs but Hans had his own agenda he needed to find the Wizard Bron who took his Witch Powers he is also at the Blood Court.
Before they left Meredith discovered a Vindix who was closer than expected.
She also unexpectedly found another Vindix at the Blood Court which added to the danger of them getting out alive as although Meredith makes an agreement with the Royals, they know they will double cross them.
As Harper and Gunner escort his pack to Wolvea Island in Isila. Gunners father the Alpha, agrees to take her three siblings to keep them safe from the Prince’s of Hell, Harpers Pack have been attacked by Demons during the trip they start to become much closer, lets keep our fingers crossed for them.
I wont give any spoilers but we are once again left with a Cliffhanger !!! Can’t wait for the 6th Book Bound by Destiny
I received an advanced copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
When I think this series can't get any better, bam!!!, Ashley throws a shocking twist that rocks this fantastic world and keeps us enthralled, despite it being the fifth book in the series... how can she manage to make every new book better than the previous one?... brilliance! 😍 But also, she loves to makes us hurt with that freaking cliffhangers, damn it girl!!! 😭 #itsworththewait #itsworththepain Now, to wait no so patiently for the next book! 😁🖤
Ah hell, the time is come. The princes of hell are on the loose and picking their territories on earth. Los Angeles was the first to fall, and several more have followed. Two princes are yet to stake their claim on an area, with the coven and covenant on the lookout for when the next cites will fall to the princes of hell. As if Meredith’s situation wasn’t dire enough to find the remaining vindictive and stones, Tobias’s royal vampire clan have come demanding his presence and Meredith’s. They are put into a difficult situation, a rock and a hard place. They must see to the royal vampire family, but each day they spend without seeking the stones or vindix results in more people dying. Personally if I was in this situation I’d be having a full blown panic attack.
Harpers the daughter of an Alpha and she’s called home for a family emergency. While there, the pack is attacked. Without spoiling how this attack occurs- I will say I have never read anything like this. The concept was so cool and shocking to me my jaw was practically on the floor.
When Meredith journeys into the Vampire court- I’d already read a Kingdom of Frost and Malice. So getting to read this POV of the interaction on the street with Neve and the vampire prince.
All in all, loved this book and cannot wait for the next one
An Absolutely Gripping Read!😱💥 A Spellbinding Series.✨️ Kingdom of Sin: Coven of Shadows and Secrets (Crowns of Magic Universe), Book 5
This book immediately swept me back up into this spellbinding series clutches. It kept me gripped right up until the final page, too! Then I wanted to throw my Kindle at the wall with the ominous announcement that was made about one of the main characters.🥺
Honestly, this series is up there with Fourth Wing for its creativity, world building, romances, and betrayals. The only thing lacking is the amount of steamy scenes, but honestly, you're so busy getting your heart scooped out of your chest whilst riding a roller coaster that you don't really miss it.🤷🏻♀️🤣
Meredith and Tobias are summoned to Isla by the King and Queen of the Blood Court, attend or die - attend, and you still might die!😳 Shay and Hans go with them as backup.🤞 The nephilum and hellblooded half demon wizard are my top pick for fated mates. I'd love them to be together.🤞💘
Harper and Gunner escort his pack to Wolvea Island in Isla. His father agrees to take her three siblings to keep them safe from the seven demon brothers taking over earth.🌎 These two become much closer - is it possible another mated pair are in our future?🙏🏼💘 We can hope.😉
I can't get enough of this series and world. The writing is phenomenal, as is the storyline. It needs to blow up now - everyone needs to read this series!⭐️😍
The coven is back. Kingdoms of Sin is the fifth book in the Coven of Shadows and Secrets series. This book kept me on my toes, I didn't know what to expect next (except for a high body count) but I knew I was gonna have a good time.
Meredith "Mer" is in her element, totally comfortable with being a witch, a Vindix, a mate, and a coven member. Mer is thriving, taking charge, and strengthening her bonds with her coven members. Speaking of bonds, she and Tobias is all coupley, loving on each other, caring for one another, and are beyond comfortable in their relationship. It was great.
Speaking of coupley, Harper and Gunner, as well as Hans and Shay, are killing me. They are a perfect fit for each other if only they will get out of their own way. Sure Haper and Hans are both going through a crisis, Hans with his self-confidence and Harper with her sense of self but both Shay and Gunner have been there for them, respectively. Gunner has been glued to Harper's side supporting her in any way he can. I enjoyed seeing the wise and insightful side of Gunner, which made me love him more. As for Shay, she's so open to Hans, truly changing her way of thinking show him that she had faith in him when he lacks it for himself. Plus she really pushed his buttons in this one. I can see both couples heading to something more.
I'm addicted to this series, the plot KoS was of epic proportions. More Vindix has been identified, plus there's more training and new magic. Readers get introduced to Gunner’s family (I liked all of them but one) and Gunner’s big secret is revealed. The best part is Isila is finally revealed. So we get a glimpse of the fae part, Kora, Aiden, and Kieran make an appearance. Kora was mentioned before but she also has her own story in this universe along with the other two. Through Gunner, we meet the wolvea, and finally, we go to the Blood Court. Sangrael is your darkest nightmare. Sabotage, insane (and evil) royals, blood slaves, roadside attacks, (dead) bodies everywhere you look and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Wow, just, wow.
Things are never boring for the members of Shadows and Secrets. If anything Kingdoms of Sin proved that, this book had my nerves on edge the entire time and looks like for get reason too. Just when they get two steps ahead they get pushed back one. The story ended with so many things up in the air and coven members in danger. Gods I need Bound by Destiny like yesterday.

With its richly drawn characters, immersive world-building, and gripping narrative, this installment is sure to satisfy fans of dark fantasy and leave them eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the saga.
The title is simultaneously very accurate yet also vague until you open and start reading the book. You do need to read this series in the correct order in order to understand and follow the various threats in the plot. Hell has arrived on Earth and each of the princes of hell has started to claim and reduce a city in the human world as the first bastion of their new and planned hellish kingdoms. To fight these hellish intrusions the Vindixes are needed. Yet nobody really knows where they can be found. They still have to be trained as well with the powers residing in their respective gemstones. The only hope for Earth to fight these demon princes seems to be residing presently with Meredith and her vampire soulmate, Tobias. That is, till the vampire king in an alternate reality ordered Tobias, as royal Prince, to attend a ball with his betrothed and search witch,,,Meredith. That is when the alarm bells started ringing and realisation dawned that this vampire king has plans of his own for Meredith. Hell is awaiting them even in that alternate reality as well from the vampire king and vixen of a wife. Kingdoms of Sin is very immersive and at times rather tense as the plot develops. Author Ashley Mcleo certainly is good on keeping readers on tenter hooks from one scene to the other, one book to the next. Enjoy
This is the fifth book in the Coven of Shadows and Secrets series. This book picks up right where book four left us.
In this book we find our protagonists going further to stop the Princes of Hell. Meredith will also find some new vindix and you will be pleasantly surprised with who they are. Meredith and Tobias take their romance to a new level. There could also be some other romances developing between other members of S&S but I won’t tell you if they do or with whom because I don’t want to spoil the book for you.
This book is non-stop action and adventure. Every chapter has something going on, either romance, an adventure or a battle of some kind. It’s one of those nail biters.
Warning: this book does end in a couple of cliff hangers. Even with that, I loved reading the book, I couldn’t put it down and I’m now impatiently waiting for the next one.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book continues right from the last one and each chapter is told by a different character (6 points of view). The Princes of Hell are quickly taking over, claiming cities for themselves, so need to be stopped. The coven are also trying to help the Vindix understand and learn how to use their powers with their different stones.
Harper and Gunner take her siblings with his pack when they go to Isila Wolf Island to escape the demons and Meredith and Tobias are called to Isila to the Blood Court to meet with the Vampire King. This leads to new surprises, twists, and problems.
The characters and world Ashley has created in this series is fantastic and I would highly recommend the Coven of Secrets and Shadows series to all those who love magic, witches, vampires, werewolves and more.

Our heroine has s job to do, saving the world and all. No big deal, right? Plenty of time to be summoned to a vampire court for a chat.
This is book five of the series. It does pretty well as a standalone, but will be more enjoyable if you start from the beginning so that you get the full backstory.
This is an urban fantasy story with a hidden paranormal world. The story is well written and easy to read with a fascinating setting that really caught my attention. The characters are also well done with a smart heroine and an annoying hero, just the perfect combination. The plot moves along at a good pace with plenty of action and mystery to keep me turning pages. Overall, I enjoyed this latest installment to the series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.
Highly recommended.

Another great book! I'm super excited for the next one in this series to see how two of the S&S members are doing.
This has a lot of different POVs but everyone is split up into at least two groups almost constantly and important things are happening with all of them. The switches are done well, and there's enough review of what's happened that you don't get confused about where or when anything is.
There are two different trips to two different parts of Isila in this book: one to take Harper's siblings to the wolvea for protection and one for Tobias to take Meredith to see the vampire king and queen. There's also a nice side-trip to the Spring Court, so if you haven't had a chance to read Curse of the Fae Prince yet, you'll want to after finishing Kingdoms of Sin.
Book five and we hit the ground running. This is one of those series that just gets better and better with each book and this one pulled me in from the very start. Los Angeles has fallen to the darkness of the seven princes of hell and soon more cities will follow as they try to get to take over earth. It’s down to Meredith & Tobias to try and stop it but first they must journey to the realm of Isila as the vampire royals demand to see them. It’s a perilous adventure fraught with danger and brimming with non stop action. Captivating, exciting, and twists and turns to keep you on your toes plus with incredible World building that is descriptive and beautiful.
Harper is struggling with Meredith's claim that she must have witch blood but eventually comes to accept it with enthusiasm. Meanwhile, Hans and Shay are trying to suppress their romantic feelings for each other. When Tobias and Meredith are summoned to the Blood Court in Isila because of their mate bond, they, along with Hans and Shay, make the journey there. Along the way, they encounter Orcs and bounty hunters. This story has plenty of action and romance, ending with a cliffhanger. Very highly recommended.

Kingdoms of Sin (Coven of Shadows and Secrets #5) by Ashley McLeo is a GREAT book and I know others will enjoy too. In this book LA has fallen to darkness and before long other cities will too. Meredith has a job to do find the rest of the Vindix but she has been summoned. The vampire royals have demanded a meeting since she is mated with a royal vampire. The realm of Isila is as perilous as our own, and chaos will change the course of her mission. This is a slow burn urban fantasy with fated mates, multiple POV and high stakes. The expected release date is July 31st
Kingdoms of Sin is book 5 and continues this fantastic series. So much goes on in each book and this one does not disappoint. I was captovated from start to finish with tons of action, suspense and magic. I absolutely love Ashley McLeo's descriptive writing -whether it be the fascinating different realms visited or the characters, the reader becomes immersed in the story. Written in multiple POVs we get to see many different sides to this story and each one is just as thrilling. I am excited to see where the next book takes us in this must read series for any paranormal/urban fantasy fan.
This book picks right up where book four left off, do read 1-4 first. As the series progresses, it just gets better. I love Meredith and Tobias together, they make a great couple. Of course the princes of hell are still in play, which make for some fantastic reading! This is another Great addition to a wonderful series, that kept me wondering what's next, to the end, a cliff. Still I Loved It!!! Need More! No Spoilers!.

Fun, entertaining series! Cool paranormal elements, fun action, and strong lead characters! They are having to deal with stopping the 7 princes of hell from taking over Earth, so there’s plenty of dangerous scenarios going on with some not so pleasant characters; vampires, demons, etc. Really enjoy the character dynamics between all the characters; some good chemistry going on there. Looking forward to more in this series! This is book 5, so I’d recommend starting from the beginning. A great series!
This is book five in the Coven of Shadow and Secrets series. It’s a slow burn fated mates urban fantasy romance. Great character development. Twists and unexpected turns keep you reading. The world building is detailed and imaginative. It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention. I really liked how the author built up the relationship between the two main characters. The chemistry between the two main characters is steamy and intense. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Kingdoms of Sin: Coven of Shadows and Secrets book 5 by Ashley McLeo. 8/1/23
The fifth book has the group chasing in all directions and not concentrating so much on Vindix training. There are 3 stones and Vindix still missing and the Princes of Hell are taking over more cities. Tobias and Meredith are summoned to the Royal Blood Court and Hans and Shay accompanied them. Will they escape the clutches of the Vampire King and Queen?.

Ashley McLeo is a phenomenal author. I am pretty sure I've read and reviewed everything she's published. All that to say, this is one of my two favorite series of hers.
The world building integrates from series to series until it seems as real as the world around you. The characters are mesmerizing; the plot intricate and on going, with the personal growth of the characters as intriguing as the situations they find themselves in. Dive into their world now!
The Coven of Shadows and Secrets series has been excellent so far and this book doesn't disappoint. Every time I think this series is beginning to be wrapped up, the action and plot twists continue. That was especially true in this book. I enjoyed the constantly changing perspectives. Harper and Gunner's parts of the story was probably my favorite, along with Meredith and Tobias later in the book.

A great book that really pulls you into it. I found myself daydreaming about what would happen next when I was not reading it. Didn’t like the ending it left me up in the air what a cliffhanger. Love the relationships between the characters and the couple of slow burn romances. Bring on the next book quickly!.

This series is a blast and this new book is just as good as the rest. Crazy characters, wild story, and lots of action, danger and surprises to kept me entertained. Mer and the rest are fun to watch as they deal with everything that comes their way n this one. Had to see what they must face and survive this time. Just so much fun to read and see what will go wrong this time.
We are back for book 5 and this series has yet to lose its steam. This is wonderfully written story with characters that have such depth and vibrancy. Meredith has slowly grown into such a force and the strength and resilience she exhibits just adds to the realness of this amazing series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is book 5 in the series and it continues to surprise me with the plot twists. The book has multiple POV’s so you can follow the adventure through different character’s eyes. The author has done an excellent job of describing the world that this novel takes place in and leaves you wanting more by the time you are finished!
