Marin Mincu a fost un poet, critic literar, istoric literar, semiolog și eseist român.

Colaborator la toate revistele literare din țară, deținând rubrică permanentă la Amfiteatru (Confruntări critice), Luceafărul (Semn), România literară (Poezia tânără), Viața românească (Intermezzo), Paradigma (editorial), Ziua literară (cronică literară), Tomis (Repere), Contemporanul –Ideea europeană (Intermezzo), etc. A avut rubrică săptămânală permanentă («Accente») în pagina culturală a ziarului „Cotidianul” (1999-2004). De asemenea, colaborator la unele reviste italiene: Alfabeta (Milano), La fiera letteraria (Roma), Strumenti critici (Torino), Uomo e cultura (Palermo), Il cavallo di Troia (Roma), Inventario (Firenze), L’Indice (Torino), Il Ponte (Firenze), La nuova Rivista Europea (Milano, unde a făcut parte din Colegiul european de redacție) etc. Inițiative culturale: Membru fondator al Universității Ovidius din Constanța (1990, fiind numit primul rector, funcție la care renunță pentru că, în același timp, era și profesor titular la Facultatea de litere și filozofie a Universității din Florența). Înființează revista culturală Paradigma (1993) și Editura Pontica (1991) în cadrul căreia coordonează colecția „Biblioteca italiană” și colecția de poezie Euridice. Președinte al Cenaclului Euridice al Uniunii Scriitorilor (2002-2003) și, în continuare – până în 2008, al Muzeului Literaturii Române. Fondator al Premiului literar Euridice (2005, în exclusivitate pentru tinerii autori), actualmente premiul literar „Marin Mincu”.

Debut: cu critică în Gazeta literară (articolul „Stilul criticii”, 30 aprilie 1964) și cu poezii în revista Amfiteatru (aprilie 1966).

Debut editorial: în poezie cu vol. Cumpănă (Editura pentru literatură, 1968); în critică: Critice (Editura pentru literatură, 1969); în roman: Intermezzo ( Editura Albatros, 1984).

One of the few cases where Marin Mincu rushes up things: this anthology is actually an anthology of the texts read at the Euridice circle. In the book „Din dosarele cenaclului Euridice” you can find out about almost everything that has happened there, here are only the texts read by more or less young Romanian poets and prose writers.

Poets that have debuted slightly earlier than 2000 are also here (Dumitru Crudu, Mircea Țuglea and others), while others that did qualify have been left out for supposedly being not „ripe” yet at that time - Constantin Virgil Bănescu, Claudiu Komartin, etc. Right after the book was released, strong poets have continued to surface - even though some of them, like Radu Vancu, will prove to be quite different to the main „core” of the generation... (But so is Dună, for instance, in comparison with „fracturism”.) The row of selected poets is excellent and in some cases Mincu's intuitions have been confirmed so far (other cases are rather tragic - the suicide of George Vasilievici, one year after Bănescu), but the selected prose writers, with the exception of Chiva, Cara and 1-2 others, are hardly convincing - better writers would come in this department eventually within the EGO collection of Polirom.

It is THE introduction to the 2000 generation (most of the texts being extremely hard to find, especially those by Ianuș and Urmanov who have become religious in the meantime), but it probably won't remain the best anthology for a long while. „Poezia antiutopică” and „Compania poeților tineri...” are good attempts at beating Mincu's performance, but no more than that. Except to see much better efforts in the near future, when there will be a wider and less subjective vision - Octavian Soviany, for instance, already views it as a sort of „proteic generation” with several different poetic lines that are parallel and connected to each other in the same time. These lines of discourse are still very strong and most probably will remain so for some while.
