Golden Vampire Paolo Monteleone begins raising a son he did not know he fathered, after the murder of the boy's mother. He meets a beautiful human college professor, Carabella Sampson, at a Halloween costume ball. She is an expert on vampire lore, but doesn’t believe in their existence. Paolo dresses up as himself: a vampire.
A dark coven leader has targeted her for elimination, before she can reveal secrets of the Golden Vampire lineage she has obtained from an ancient book. Can there be a happily ever after if either his lover or his young son has to pay the ultimate sacrifice to protect the Golden Vampire race?
S. HAMIL, Sharon Hamilton’s twisted sister, writes paranormal romance with a central theme of the healing power of true love. Her characters from multiple worlds including Heaven and the Underworld are angels, dark angels, vampires and some who are not quite sure what they are. They follow a bumpy path to redemption, but not exactly what they taught you in Sunday School!
Another amazing story in this second book in the 'Golden Vampires of Tuscany'.
Reading so many books in many different genres, I loved the way Ms Hamilton has written a prelude to remind us of what occurred in the first book in this series, "Honeymoon Bite" This book continues on with the story of these hot, sexy Alpha-Vamps that are also so warm, loving and protective of their mates.
Sharon Hamilton brings to you a totally different spin on the everyday vamps stories that are out there. These are definitely not your regular vampires, oh no!! There is excitement, intrigue, mystery, betrayal and hot, steamy romance that will leave you blushing! I love the new characters that have been introduced in this book with some good guys, bad guys (maybe some of the bad guys aren't so bad at all) and even some hot, hunky SEALs thrown in for good luck. I cannot wait to learn more about them all in the next issue.
Speaking of SEALs, I absolutely love Sharon Hamilton's "SEAL Brotherhood" series as well. Check them out!
I highly recommend all of Sharon Hamilton's books. She is on my Auto-Buy list!!
Sharon Hamilton introduced readers to the Golden Vampire Legacy with Honeymoon Bite, and while I thoroughly enjoyed this book I was unprepared for the absolute brilliance delivered in book two - Mortal Bite. Not to spoil things for anyone who hasn’t read this series yet, but Honeymoon Bite revolved primarily around the two main characters and the action and drama was essentially of a personal nature. Hold on to your seat when you read Mortal Bite! Ms Hamilton has raised the bar in this second instalment of the Golden Vampire Legacy by thrilling readers with copious amounts of action, intrigue, suspense, supreme dominance and a fractured romance all thrown into the mix. Where Honeymoon Bite was a captivating romantic introduction to the Golden Vampire Legacy, Mortal Bite grabs you by the throat with such force, it dares you to try and pull away. Congratulations to Sharon Hamilton for providing readers with one of the best sequels in a series I have ever read. Mortal Bite well deserves a place alongside other Vampire series by authors such as J.R.Ward, Lara Adrian and Alexandra Ivy to name a few. I can’t wait to see what Ms Hamilton has in store for book three and pray she doesn’t keep us waiting too long!
This was a 5+ Star book for me, the second book in The Golden Vampire Series, the first was a very enjoyable story. However with Mortal Bite Sharon Hamilton has taken the storyline in a new and intriguing direction and really upped the anti. This was very well written, action packed with a war brewing between the Golden and Dark Vampires as one seeks for domination over the other. Amongst all this we have Paolo Montelone so lonely and looking for love, a chance encounter with Carabella Sampson, at a fancy dress party sets the story on fire, they have an instant attraction. However, Carabella's proffession and fascination with vampire mythology lands her in a very dangerous position. The introduction of some wonderful new characters, continues to keep the readers interest and will keep me coming back to read more, Lional Jett especially. Adding to all that, mystery, passion, lust and hot sizzling romance this had everything a reader could want in a book.
The story is good I would even say I want to read the next until I read the last chapter or 2 and it put me off. She changed the heroines personality. It made no sense. It was so out of character i thought id missed a few chapters. Sadly I won't be getting the second one to this series if the author is just going to rush the ending.
I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW AND THIS IS MY HONEST OPINION .... OVER 18 READING SHARON HAMILTON HAS CREATED A TERRIFIC SECOND BOOK TO HER GREAT NEW SERIES !!! ANOTHER MUST READ VAMPIRE BOOK, October 12, 2015 Book one of Sharon Hamilton's Golden Vampires Mainly was about Anne and her Vampire Marcus, with their personal problems solved, and a year later we get to center on Paolo Monteleone (Marcus brother) and Carabella Sampson (a collage professor in legends and mythology expert in vampire mythology). After meeting her at a Halloween party where she was a angel and he was a vampire, who tells her to tell him about her vampires. But when her vamps contain words like despicable, repulsive, pure evil, steal kids, he was hurt very much. But having had his fated mate he didn't think she was a fated mate but someone he could care very much for, even love (having already had three human wives, that he stayed with till there deaths) . We have a dark vampire Dag Nielsen, with some crazy ideals and not to much concern for humans other then torture , but he is looking for a book, a special one of a kind book from 300 AD . Carabella has received a book she bought from a dealer in Prague, then finds her assistant killed in her locked classroom, gets attacked herself a couple of times, has her mind wiped and it is the wrong book There is so much wonderful stuff happening that you will be saying "What's next?" more than a few times.I can't wait till the next book which I hope is about Laurel and I kind of hope Praetor and if they can't be fated,I hope each gets a book and finds their fated mates.
Carabella is a professor at a university in which she teaches the mythology of vampires, a creature she doesn't believe is real and if they were thinks they're monsters. She meets Paolo, a vampire and the two fall in love with one another. But a threat is looming and when Cara discovers a book to help her research, it could very well kill her. She learns what Paolo is but his brother Marcus takes her memory away. Can Cara still be protected even with her not knowing now that vampires are real? I loved the connection of her and Paolo have and how they had to fall in love for the second time. I wish there was a third book in this series, I really want Laurel to find her mate and to learn if a golden can ever have two fated mates.
Don’t bother wasting your time and money on this one. Story is bad. Hero sounds like a whiny wimp. Heroine can just be an extra character the way she was developed. It was a miracle I finished this. Several times I wanted to stop but just thought to just reserve judgment and finish the book. Bad decision. Should have stopped immediately.
MORTAL BITE places Carabella Sampson, college professor and expert on vampire mythology, directly in the path of Paolo Monteleone, vampire. Perfect, right?! The only problem is Cara doesn’t believe in vampires. To make matters worse, Cara’s attracted more than Paolo’s attention in the vampire world and things are about to get pretty intense. It’s that intensity and the high level of fascination with this storyline that will draw you in and have you reading often on the edge of your seat. Paolo and Cara’s tale is filled with drama, emotions, and steamy passion, enough to capture your interest from the start and keep you thoroughly involved until the end.
I love the story line. Even the sexual escapades were explicit. Even though I enjoyed much of the book, I find I would have enjoyed it more with less sex. I enjoy books with romance and sex, too much sex can be as bad as not enough in any story. Ms Hamilton has a talent for telling a story which would be greatly enhanced by respecting that talent by expressing sexual encounters with class and dignity. Raunchy can be classy!
Really 3 1/2 stars I enjoyed it, plan on reading the next book but sometimes I would have skimmed if I wasn't listening to Audible version. And some things didn't make sense like Shirley first she was all about Dag then she turns on him for no apparent reason . Loved the narration especially the Italian accent. As I said didn't love it,didn't hate it and I am curious about Lionel Jett so I will read the next, but I doubt it will be a reread and that's the mark of a good book.
Mortal Bite, book 2 of the Golden Vampires of Tuscany series written by S Hamil. We are still with the Montaleone’s as they face dire consequences. Paolo has met a human woman named Carabella and accidentally puts them and his family in harms way. It’s a bloody mess (see what I did there? It’s vampires) with lots of steamy sexy times while racing the clock to solve the puzzle and stop the bloodbath. Anyone want a sexy vampire??
This book brought forward some concepts I had not heard of before. One thing that all vampires books seem to excel at is the vampires immense enjoyment of s__. I am a bit disappointed with the end of the book as I feel there are still several questions that need to be answered.
I admit that I didn't read the first book before this one, and maybe that was part of the issue. But this book felt really disjointed as I was reading it, and didn't seem to flow well, at least not for me. Perhaps if I had read the first book it would have been different because I'd have had better background, but as of right now, I am not impressed.
Actually this is a DNF for me mainly because I had issues with him glamouring Cara. He “couldn’t help it” sometimes and that became a consent issue for me. Yes Cara was attracted to him but every time he did the glamour - it felt weird and I couldn’t get past it so I decided to stop reading. Also the story wasn’t so compelling to get me to read to the end.
I really enjoyed this book. The Golden Vampires are not just the ordinary run of the mill vampires, but have their own back story, which is fascinating. I love the fact that the Golden Vampires are humanized, without the blood and gore of the early vampire stories. Sharon Hamilton is a thoroughly enjoyable author.
It has taken me ages to read this book, and although it has great reviews this book did not hold my interest. The idea behind the story was ok but I found it a bit boring, and although I liked the characters, I found Paolo lacking, and Carabella kind of annoyed me. I found myself wishing the book would finish which is a shame as I love supernatural reads.
Rollercoaster ride of action and romance! Although the first few pages were a little slow (at least to me!!) that certainly changed as I read. Vampire and human romance, with very strong characters, and that thread of evil threatening to destroy it all. Family, love, friendship and honour provide a backdrop for magical romance...which has only just begun!!
It was totally different than any vampire book I have ever read! I love Sharon Hamilton's imagination! Totally different in the vampire differences. The love story, mystery and family!
It is so exciting when an author dramatically expands a genre. We got this with " Harry Potter " and " Twilight ". Now Sharon Hamilton has done it with her series about the ' Golden Vampires of Tuscany '. Must read it.
I enjoyed the story, though the end was rather anticlimactic. But I cannot in good conscience leave a better review because of all of the typos and grammatical errors.
This was so good. A different kind of vampire. They can walk in the sun. They don't sleep during the day. They are born human a at puberty they can choose become vampire or stay mortal. Really liked this series. A lot of loose ends so hoping for more books in series
I couldn't stop reading this book because of the story was so gripping. I felt like I was in the story with the characters and the beautiful countryside that you described. Thank you for your wonderful imagination xx
I thoroughly loved this book, it's characters were riveting and the action scenes were also great. I loved the infusion of Paolo's fatherhood and concern for his family. Kudos to the Author. Recommend highly to the readers enjoy.😊
I kept waiting for this book to pick up pace. I gave up 120 pages in. It tried to use all vampire lore in one book. I wasn't impressed, but I hope other people will have a better experience.
