I've read a LOT of Sherlock fics. Two Two One Bravo Baker is a brilliant fanfiction, one of the very best in the Sherlock fandom. The author's research/knowledge of the military is second to none. Even though Sherlock & John's feelings accelerate very quickly, that's a minor quibble. The dialogue is good and although not completely in character (mostly Sherlock), it's a great read. I love BAMF!John and how he & Sherlock bounce off each other (no pun intended). I've read this story more times than any other Sherlock fic; I just keep coming back to it. Yes, there is a LOT of explicit sexytimes in there, but it's more than balanced with the plot which is complex and tight ( so intricate that it's very hard to keep up with at times). It's not a literary masterpiece and there are things wrong with it- confusing plot, the supporting characters are not easily differentiated, etc. I have rated it according to what it is- a fanfiction. A free story, written for fans; not a published work you'd buy from Waterstones. It's a fanfiction, and it's a bloody good one. When anyone asks me for a recommendation TTOBB is one of three I go to straight away; I honestly think someone could make a film from this fic! It's epic.

There was too much sex and too many ILUs. Other than that, I really liked it.

I'm not a big fan of Sherlock AUs but this one worked for me. Reading it with a Sherlock episode as a background was especially effective.

Vacillating between two stars and three. Often very interesting, but I read a story for the plot not the sex, which can be so damn tedious when repeated ad infinitum. So when the plot shone I enjoyed it, when we got pages of sex, I lost interest.

Starts really good but then gets unbelievably tedious with non-stop sex.

This story actually has a plot, that being said, less sex scene would be appreciated

Fanfiction is my guilty pleasure. War stories are far from being my favorites, still, this was entertaining and well written.

I absolutely adore this book. It is one of my go to rereads. The amount of research the author had done is truly staggering and the way the story is told, feels almost raw in places.
