Former Canadian Special Ops Nicholas Fournier never dreamed making a deposit at a Dallas bank for his ailing aunt would change his life, but it does. He meets US Marshal Jubilee Mason who in turn introduces him to Sean Mercado, a new recruit to the Big D. Nicholas is still reeling from a romantic fiasco where he threw caution to the wind traveling to Texas to meet a guy he communicated with online.

Though planning to fly back home, he's tempted to spend a little more time with the hunky Louisiana transplant and find out a little more about the US Marshals. He soon finds there's a lot going on in this hectic Texas city and it ain't just summer rain.

A.J. Llewellyn lives in California, but dreams of living in Hawaii. Frequent trips to all the islands, bags of Kona coffee in the fridge and a healthy collection of Hawaiian records keep this writer refueled.

This is book five in the authors' wonderful 'Orgasmic Texas Dawn' series and I was super excited to jump into this. The first four stories had primarily focused on the lives and love of Kieran and Jubilee. 'Summer Rain' moved away from them as the main characters, although they are still prominent, and introduced me to Sean and Nicholas. I can strongly suggest that you read these books in order or you might feel a little lost.

Jubilee heads to the bank to re-sign the direct deposit papers for his and Kieran's new home mortgage, and while he's there, an armed robbery occurs. That's how Jubilee meets Nicholas. Nicholas is an ex-Special Forces and ex-detective in vice with the Ontario Provincial Police who came to Texas, where he was born by the way, to meet someone he had met online. I don't recommend that and neither does Nicholas. The guy had completely misrepresented himself to Nicholas. Anyway, he helps Jubilee stop the robbery but in the process, Jubilee gets shot.

Three stars only because I have loved so much Kieran and Jubilee and now is strange for me, reading of Nicholas and Sean ,I think that I must learn to know them better. The character of Nicholas is well drawed, lonely ,smart( maybe too) and hard , but that of Sean isn't well clear to me, perhaps a bit naive, so I expect a lot of fight and problem. Also, in the plot there isn't much action, excluding that in firsts and last pages and the story of Nicholas and Sean isn't exclusive and only in all book. Moving and sweet is when we talk about Juan and is a beautiful image that of Summer Rain ,romantic ,yes, but not exciting as that of Orgasmic Texas Dawn.

3.5 Stars - Because we started with Kieran and Jubilee's POV, I found it a little difficult to shift to Sean and Nic's but after the first bit, it fell into place. I enjoyed Sean and Nicholas as characters and liked the background plot. It wasn't as out there as the goings on in Lone Trail. This definitely left me wanting more :)

Sean is learning the ropes of being a Marshal from Kieran, Nicholas meets Jubilee in the middle of a bank holdup, both men meet after Jubilee is shot and a connection is forged between them. Nicholas is visiting from Canada and after meeting Sean and the rest of the Marshals Nicholas decides to sign up and hopefully stay in Dallas, it isn’t long before he discovers just how hectic the Marshals can be. Sean is closeted but it isn’t long before he is hoping for anything he can get off Nicholas… if he can just get him to say the words.

This is an excellent addition to the Orgasmic Texas Dawn series with two new hot beefcakes *urm cough* characters, adding to and expanding the storyline. Nicholas is a genius dedicated to serving his country but also looking for excitement along the way, after meeting Jubilee at the bank in the middle of a holdup he is offered the chance to join the Marshals, well it’s a new adventure and if he can see Sean again, then all the better. Sean is still closeted, but meeting Nicholas sparks something inside him, going out on a limb he takes a chance with the attraction, but Nicholas starts to shy away and Sean can only pray that Nicholas wants him as much as he wants Nicholas.

I really liked the way that this story was written; it starts off from Jubilee and Kieran’s point of views and then smoothly changes to Nicholas and Sean’s perspectives when they have been established. With Jubilee and Kieran it starts with a happy morning with Juan (foster son) which is tainted with frustration and anger when they are turned down for adoption because they are gay, the story then progresses quickly to establish both Nicholas and Sean, but Jubilee and Kieran are with them nearly every step of the way so we can keep a close eye on our sexy Marshals. The storyline is action packed, tinged with excitement, confusion and an act of betrayal and continues on with a great storyline right to the very end.

Both Nicholas and Sean are great characters and I can safely say that they will be welcomed with open arms, they are hot, passionate, at times confused, but they always hot for each other. They add new blood and open the story for more exciting plots, in this one the four of them work together to bring down a gun smuggling ring, with Jubilee as a rich Texan, Sean as his bodyguard, Nicholas as a cook and Kieran as a biker… Kieran... biker *drool*

I will recommend this one to those who love U.S. Marshals, sexy Canadians, action, gun fights, danger, hot lovin’ and a happy ending.

I can say with some authority that Louisiana has parishes not counties. Trivial to most, yet significant to some. Also, a lot of US Marshall stories and information included are interesting trivia but are not necessary to the storyline and feel forced into it.
I do want to say that all of these guys are interesting characters and I wanted to know more about them. I would think that followers of the Orgasmic Texas Dawn series would be used to this style of story-telling and eager to see what new adventures these good guys are up to. For those unfamiliar to these books by AJ Llewellyn and DJ Manly, I would suggest that you begin with the first and get to know these characters from the beginning. Perhaps that alone would make a huge difference in enjoying these books.

Unlike the first four books in the Orgasmic Texas Dawn series, rampant homophobia wasn't a major theme in the fifth through eighth books. I don't know if the lack of the homophobia plot device or just that I was more invested in the characters, but I actually enjoyed these four books a little bit more than the first four in the series.
