Well #4 done and I need to have more, don't know what I will do when I have no more Draven to look forward to. Loved this read as much as the first three, this book seemed to take a little turn sending you to new realms and characters and as usual I love the ones Stephanie creates good and bad alike. I noticed a few harsh reviews with a lot of language so I would also like to add that no one is ever going to like every book they read and you may not like one when there are others who will love it so when writing a review say that you didn't enjoy it and say why, that is what a review is for but have some couth and don't be a bully its easy to get your opinion out without sounding like a illiterate trash mouth! Cant wait for #5 Stephanie, checking your stuff every day for some kind of news so guess I had better end this signed ( Truly Hooked )

Can't decide whether I love or hate the book. I love the story and all of the books preceding, but have been left frustrated with the ending. Now for the torturous wait for the next instalment!!

Let me rant first....

Oh Keira how I loathe you.

Seriously.

Only Keira would set out on a journey to bring her dead boyfriend/soulmate/love of her life back from the dead but make out with his brother Vincent, roll around and have an orgasm in bed with Sigurd your shadow protector, bond with him, make out with Jared, then to turn around and almost have sex with Lucius all the way down to getting butt ass naked and he is two seconds from thrusting inside of you but then you guys only stop because there was a sign from the sky telling them both it's wrong, (yeah she needed a freaking lighting strike to tell her what she was doing was absolutely wrong) and she does all this while trying to bring her man back from Hell.

Seriously.

Hate. Her.

Worst. Girlfriend. Ever.

And totally takes away from her love for Draven.

Why is it every single powerful man Keira came into contact with fell in love with her? And why did Keira drool over and pretty much found herself in intimate situations with ALL OF THEM?

Honestly Keira didn't deserve Draven.
At all.

But then that last ten percent that we FINALLY get Draven back in the story I'm so enraged by Dravens actions that I try to forgive Keira for hers. But then I tell myself that yes Draven might have fooled Keira the whole time BUT... BUT... she didn't know that and she STILL CHEATED ON HIM. But yet Draven has been completely loyal. Have I mentioned how much I hate Keira?!

Yeah hate her.
And by the end Draven is on my shit list as well.

As far as the plot I was bored and skimmed so much. It didn't get really good until 85%-90%. Don't get me wrong, Stephanie is an amazing writer but majority of this book was such a drag even though the writing was amazing. It's just that nothing really happened and I wasn't into the whole running around London looking for clues and making out with different men kind of thing. I honesty rolled my eyes over and over and skipped so much because I just wanted to get to the GOOD stuff.

I love this series. Ms. Hudson is a fantastic writer with an imagination out of this world. She is by far the QUEEN of description. So it kills me to say this, but this installment is by far the weakest out of the series to date and is a very big let down.

I'm still in love with Stephanie though and am a fan for life. She is so damn talented that's why I have faith she'll bring the BOOM with the next book. Hopefully things will get better with Draven back in play and with Keira finally growing a spine. YAY for Keira handing Draven his ass at the end and driving off, she finally grew some lady balls! And hopefully the next book still has Keira with her newfound strength and makes Draven BEG FOR IT and doesn't have Keira fooling around with every male she encounters, I don't think I can stomach more of that nonsense.

Overall 3.5 STARS.

One reaction at the end of this 4th book : WHAT THE F**K??!!!???

A real rollercoaster. We begin pretty high and keep going higher in term of mystery, suspens, excitement and hot guys (quite a few interesting specimen here :) ). Then we go a bit slower and quieter when Lucius comes back in the picture to finally reach the pick when Keira finally finds Draven. And I have to say, I had some serious murder urges towards him, still have.
I was nearly crying by the end of the book but ended but very excited by the beginning of the Pentagram Child. I hope we get some answers because so far, it is pretty much an accumulation of questions!!

But anyway I still want to say, this book is anoter beautifully written story, full of mythology if deep mysteries and a world building si deep you get swapt into it and don't want to come back. Congrats to Ms Hudson for her beautiful writting skills

Another brilliant book in the series !!!

It is going to be so hard to write this review without giving the plot details away but I will try my best.

The books picks up right where previous ended. Keira goes on a rollercoaster of a journey in this book. You don't get to see too much of many of the characters in the previous book but we are introduced to plenty of new ones.

The book is very well written and there are some very clever puzzle's that Keira has to figure out that really will give you a headache. The book is really long (over 700 pages) and there was plenty of twists and turns that kept me hooked. I didn't want to put it down.

Once again Keira's character is great once again she is so strong and fighting for the ones she loves. My heart really did break for her at parts in the book. The male characters were also great I loved her banter with Sigurd and it was great that we got see more of Lucius and his flirty banter with Keira.

When I finished the book it left me feeling a little frustrated as I wanted to keep reading more. You do get a sneak peek at the first chapter of the next book called The Pentagram Child which leave you on tender hooks. I'm looking forward to book 5 there are still lots of unanswered questions.

Overall a fantastic read that has it all- mystery, suspense and romance :-)

Book Review: The Quarter Moon (Afterlife saga, #4) by Stephanie Hudson

Another thrilling and immeasurably profound supernatural masterpiece from Stephanie Hudson as she steers the Afterlife Saga in a whole new direction. Be prepared to partake in the journey of a lifetime. Dark, decadent, thrilling and totally unstoppable. Kelly, Perusing Princesses

“This was Afterlife and inside, I had found that in the literal sense in more ways than one. It both contained the elements of dreams and nightmares, Heaven and Hell’s creatures and the living Gods of a world most people would run from if they only knew the truth. But me...well I was running, screaming into the arms of that world and praying with every step that it would take me back.” - Keira Williams

The Draven’s may rule, but it seems Kiera is making quite an impression among many a hell brethren in this fourth installment as she takes hold of the ‘Electus’ reigns, and proves her worth in a world that is now as much part of her, as her beating heart.

Now that my friends is how it's done! The Quarter Moon is that book in a series that throws a spanner in the entire workings. Just when you think you have it all figured out... BAM! I spent most of my time reading this book shaking my head in disbelief and cursing the powers that be as these new events start to unfold. When you think all hope is lost, you get a glimpse of some real defining moments as to Kiera’s inner strength and personal character growth that will have you flying the flag of newfound respect for our heroine as she partakes on the journey of a lifetime.

From grief-stricken heartbreak to hell and back again, Stephanie Hudson has exceeded and excelled. Her level of descriptive text flows like the River Styx as you feel yourself immersed within a world that flows consistent with our own giving it substance and plausibility. Keira’s plight is thwart with danger and yet her sassy, sarcastic British humour keeps the story fresh and the element of hope alive; delivering momentary brightness in a world so profoundly dark. But even darkness holds elements of light and goodness as Dominic Draven takes a back seat in hell while Kiera proves her worth in the supernatural community as she vows to do whatever it takes to get the King back home where he belongs.

Her only means to locating her soul mate is via cryptic guidance from a powerful Oracle. Keira takes the bait as she accepts this new mission, only to realise very quickly that she has bit off a little more than she can chew.

Enter Sigurd; the unlikeliest of aid comes in the form of a ‘shadowed-knight-serpent-bad-ass-biker-demon-dude’ who can give Draven a run for his money in the power ring. The king of Ouroboros, his protection runs blood deep as he and Keira set-off together at the request of the Oracle to seek the answers they need to open the gates to the Devil’s playground.

Enter Cerberus; The gatekeeper to hell and all of its resident Hell-beasts, who is also 'kind of' a werewolf. Deadly, unforgiving and feared, he provides the only key, and fortunately in need of a new pet. A vow is his price for protection and entrance into the underworld but at what personal cost? Kiera just wants her Draven back so she makes a decision that not only unites them, but gives her crucial leverage in a deadly game of hide and seek...

What Kiera goes through in this 700 page thrill ride will leave you a little stunned. Stephanie really did put everything into this one, I couldn't put it down after 65% as the story came to a head. This author can take an idea and make it breathe. The slow build up makes the cataclysmic finale astonishing, and immeasurably unpredictable. I never expected the later events to unfold as they did and to be honest, I’m a little upset at the direction it took me in, only because I want what’s best for Keira. After everything she went though, everything she sacrificed, I was left feeling a little bereft. Regardless of this, The Quarter Moon gave me everything and more. Every emotion was touched upon as it pulls you in deep and doesn’t let go until the very end. And I’m delighted to say a little scratch was itched along the way. :D

I once said that the Afterlife saga had the potential to rival the worldwide international bestsellers and I continue to stand by that statement more so now than ever. This 4th book is the ultimate clincher as it steers this series in a whole new direction.

Look out for a few old favourites too; but the new guys...holy hot inked lovin' leather biker boots...they will certainly make you question those loyalties. I can’t say I would be as strong as Keira, lets put it that way!

Roll on 2014 for book five!

Keira has found death on her doorstep and suddenly she's plunged into this world of the unknown and she feels like she has to face everything alone... or does she? Keira soon finds that this new world she finds herself is filled with nothing more than heartache, shadowed followers, and a mass of cryptic messages, messages that lead her deeper into the world of the supernatural like never before.

For Keira, she finds that even taking a single breath without the other half of her soul, her soulmate, is painful and almost impossible. So when Keira is given the choice to either accept what life the fates have decided she will live, or she can put the life the fates choose for her behind her, take a deep breath, and accept the dangerous road ahead of her, and for Keira the answer is easy...

She's going to fight to get back to the other half of her soul and save the man she loves with every fibre of her being.

But, this is a fight that's not going to be easy, it's going to include Heaven and Hell as Keira goes in search of the truth of what really happened to Dominic.

Will the truth set Keira's heart free?

Or will the truth destroy Keira's heart once the full truth is revealed?

And are the fates truly to be trusted?

The Quarter Moon is book 4 in the Afterlife Saga by Stephanie Hudson. This book royally pissed me off and broke my heart at the same time. I'm going to start by saying that we don't see Dominic in 90% of this book. But, honestly, his actions when we do see him, he made me even madder than I already was before his entrance into this book. And by the end of the book, I just wanted to cry.

I love the way that Keira doesn't care what “King Dominic” decrees, she does what she will and I just love the impression that she's making on the entire supernatural realm, and most of all many of the hell's brethren she meets in this 4th instalment. Even though she doesn't like the title of 'Electus' she still grabs the title, grows stronger in her own power, proves her worth in the supernatural world that is ingrained in her and is just as much a part of her, just as much as her beating heart.

Quarter Moon shows you how it's done! This book throws a huge wrench into everything that you thought you knew about Keira and Dominic's relationship and it throws everything up in the air. And I promise you, you'll think you have it all figured out, but just when you think you know what's going on, who's who, and what the truth is, Stephanie laughs and Bam! You realize that things aren't what you thought. I spent most of this book in pure shock and disbelief and cursing out Stephanie for what she's putting poor Keira through and these new events started to play out.

And when I started to think that there was no hope left for a reunion for Keira and Dominic, we suddenly get some real defining moments as we get to see Keira's inner strength and her personal character growth. And then all of the sudden you start gaining a new respect for our FMC as she walks the road that takes her down this journey of her life.

We see Keira go from this grief-stricken heartbroken woman to getting up, brushing off her knees, and deciding that she's going to go to hell and back to find the love of her life and find the other half of her soul.

Stephanie exceeded and excelled in her descriptions of things like the River Styx and you feel like you are actually there and you're immersed within the world that continues to flow consistently with the previous books.

Keira's plight is to fight the danger that surrounds her and yet, she can't keep down her sassy, sarcastic British humour and this helps to keep the story fresh and it also helps to keep a strand of hope alive; this delivered a momentary brightness in a world that we find is so profoundly dark and uncaring. Even the pitch black darkness that surrounds Keira still holds rays of light and goodness.

We learn from the Oracle that Dominic Draven is in hell and as Keira is proving her very worth in this supernatural community as she swears she is going to do anything and go anywhere to get the King back, to take him back home to Afterlife, right where he belongs.

Keira learns that the only way she is going to get any information on locating Dominic is through the powerful Oracle. Keira can't do anything but take the bait that the Oracle lays out for her in the letters she first sends to Keira. After Keira sets out on this mission she quickly realizes that she's bitten off more than she can handle on her own.

This is where we meet Siguard; he was the last kind of aid that I thought would come to save Keira in the form of a 'shadowed-knight-serpent-bad-ass-biker-demon-dude' and I could see him giving Dominic a run for his money in the ring for power. Siguard is also the King of the Ouroboros, and the need he has to protect Keira runs blood deep and he sets off with Keira, of course at the bequest of the Oracle to help Keira seek all the answers that they needed to figure out how to open the gates to the Devil's playground.

After Keira meets Siguard she ends up meeting Jack Cerberus; The very gatekeeper to hell and all the resident Hell-beasts, and he is kind of a werewolf. He's deadly, unforgiving, and most of all feared, and it is Jack who holds the only key to open the doors to hell, and fortunately for Keira, he seems to be in need of a new pet. In order to gain his protection and to gain entrance to the underworld Keira must give Jack her own vow, but she doesn't know what the personal cost is going to be. All Keira cares about is managing to achieve her goal and find her way back to Dominic, so she finally makes a choice that not only unites them, but will give her the crucial leverage in this deadly game of hide and seek that Dominic seems to be playing.

Stephanie seriously puts Keira through a thrill ride in this book and honestly, the book is going to leave you feeling stunned and shocked. It feels like Stephanie put everything she has into this book and I don't know what she has left to put into the next one. I love the way that Stephanie can take what appears to be a simple idea and breathe life into it.

Stephanie slowly breathes life into this book and slowly builds it up until we reach this cataclysmic finale, a finale that is unpredictable and astonishing. I didn't see the book ending the way that it did and honestly, I was really upset with Dominic for the way things ended. I want what's best for Keira because I have come to love Keira like she's my little sister and after everything she's gone through, everything that she's suffered and sacrificed, I couldn't believe what Dominic said and did to her.

I can say that despite feeling bereft in this book, The Quarter Moon gave me so much that I wanted and needed and so much more. Stephanie touched on each and every emotion and it pulls you in so deep and this book refuses to let you go till the very last word.

Afterlife could honestly have rivaled so many worldwide international bestsellers and I really wish it had. But, with this 4th book, we see this saga go off the road and steer off into a whole new direction and it's going to be interesting to see where Stephanie takes us next.

We still get to see our favourite characters from the previous books but with the introduction of newly hot inked leather boot wearing demons who will do whatever it takes to protect Keira... well it's going to be interesting to see how long those loyalties can go unquestioned. But, knowing how strong Keira is and how much she loves Draven, despite it all, and how strong she is deep down, if she can stay true to Dominic and the love she has for him, or will she finally let him go as he wanted and move on with her life like he kept pushing her to do.

Once again Stephanie Hudson has blown this book out of the water and done an amazing job in writing this book and I have to recommend this entire series so far. I can't wait to read the next book, The Pentagram Child Pt. 1.

Mrs Stephanie Hudson has done it again with a fantastic nail gripping 4th book in the Afterlife saga. The wait for this book was well worth waiting for, as it got me straight in the heart.
All my favourite characters where included and some new faces appeared in Keira's quest.
This book will give you one big roller coaster of a ride, as Mrs Husdon can make you feel so many different emotions that you don't know if you coming or going.
Many congratulations Mrs. Stephanie Hudson - Dravenites you RULE!!!

Honest to goodness I was really getting frustrated with this book. I mean I waited ages for a bit of you know who and I was slowly tortured until it happened. But that is typical of Stephanie Hudson she draws you in with her beautifully descriptive writing, pulls at your heart strings and right at the end when you want more she pings it back. You wouldn't believe what Keira has to go through in this book, I mean how much more can this girl/chosen one take!
Bring on the next book, I can't wait. Craving more Drave.

After reading this book I was left feeling really unsettled and thought I really didn’t like this book and thought what the hell was Stephanie thinking! After reading the book I felt oh that was pointless I’m not reading anymore of this series! However after some needed sleep and thinking about it I realized that I was feeling sad that's why I said I wasn't reading anymore but there’s no way I could give up on this beautiful story.

On reflection I realized that even though this is still my least favourite book in this series it’s simply a story that had to be told. Stephanie you are a genius you have allowed the readers to go on a journey with Keira and one that was probably as difficult for us to read as it was for her to go through. You could have cop-out and made it easier on us readers but to truly understand what is really going on and the magnitude of the situation we needed this experience. Just like the Oracle and everyone who has told Keira to have faith and to hold on, you are saying that to us readers to have faith and trust in you that it will all work out but just like Keira we must have the heart-breaking experience. I will not abandon Draven it will all come good in the end. But Stephanie I implore you please go easy on us in book5!

I don't even know what to say. These are the first set of books I have read that I am more than frustrated with. Keira gets no break and the reason why I say it's too wordy is that the author gives keira too much inner dialogue.

I have a challenge set, has to how many books to read for the year and this series has me 9 books behind schedule, as this book took 4 days to read. I only take this long to finish a book when a book is boring and I just have to finish it and I also think I have a touch a OCD that I must finish reading a book no matter how lame, frustrated or boring it is.

I am gonna try and finish this series but I doubt I would recommend it to any one or read another book from this author. It's not that the characters are not well thought of or depicted, or the story and action isn't all encompassing, it is just that it takes to long because of the inner dialogue for you to know what happened to cause these series of events or to find out whats going to happen next.

UPDATE: So I've read the teaser chapters for the Fall releasing book The Pentagram Child. And I CANNOT wait. Oh we're in for some drama for sure. Draven is back and there's gonna be some major conflict with this guy Alex!

The very definition of ROLLERCOASTER RIDE! Again... I love Lucius! Pip is the best. This roller coaster ride has me dizzy though. The ending.... I think I know what's coming. And it'll take everyone to save her ass this time. Oh and I wish her and Vincent would have just had some sort of an affair. Sounds so wrong I know. But he or Lucious would have been the one I helped nurse my wounds with.

Book 5 supposedly comes out this Fall. By the Gods I hope everything is sorted out in this book. If she and Draven are suppose to be this supernatural power duo I wish they'd get on with it!

Free series on Kindle Unlimited. Check out more cheap paranormal reads at https://www.facebook.com/ParanormalBo...

The first thing I must do here is mention that I sacrilgiously did a skim on this novel purely on the fact that this book is based around a quest of sorts. I have a sincere dislike of books that do this. Now come on, how many demon novels have you read that do this? I can think of 4 straight off the top of my head. Truly Stephanie, I wish you hadn't based the mystery/conspiracy around this. It also has some echoes of the previous novel.

This is still a great series despite a lack of, in some cases, poor editing and sentence structure. The ending looks like it's going to hopefully give the next novel some great new material to chomp on.

I'm directly onto book 5.

I skimmed this one and was disappointed to find that it was more of the same from books 1-3. Kiera and Dom are separated but want to be together. Kiera is kidnapped by different people and different supernatural characters save her and fall in love with her. Oh, surprise, Kiera thinks Dom is cheating on her and her heart is broken, AGAIN!! And then there is the awkward writing and immaturity in general of Kiera and Dom. I think this whole book could have been skipped EXCEPT for the new characters who are introduced and their back stories. That part was interesting and important to the rest of the series. Otherwise, don't bother reading this one.

Phew! What the hell just happened??

1st off 772 pages long! I don't think I have ever spent so many days on a book (work & Christmas shopping getting in the way!) what a journey though, some fantastic new alpha men! It was nice to see old faces Lucien, Pip & Adam. Not forgetting the lovely Vincent..

After a shaky start ( it was a bit Edward & Bella when he left her? ) the rest of the book flowed beautifully! Please tell me we don't have to wait until next year before the next instalment!? Draven has some explaining to do!

I allways said i would not give this author less than 5 stars so im giving it 4 as i am so disappointed to what i usually read.... (this review may contain a few minor spoilers)

Firstly the whole book was filled with riddles.... one or two are great fun but it seems the author has filled pages with them every other chapter... and not just coming from one source, everyone is using them along with a term of endearment they seemed to have all spontaneously cottoned on to "My Friend" I mean great if it was used often in previous books but all characters seem to have suffered a personality transplant.

Keira/Catherine/chosen one/electus

The unselfish keira with a soul so pure, when locked in a tower wondered why no one had risked their life to come to rescue her?

Also not to mention that everyone is in love with her, maybe her lip-biting lets off some weird paranormal pheromone.... I really cant see how her magnetic personality could be the pull plus she chops off all her hair which obviously has some kind of aphrodisiac to Draven she wants to severe.

So in the running now

Dreamy Draven dead/undead i still don't know whats going on with him.....

lush Lucius whom she almost shags again!!!

sexy siguard giving her shadow orgasms

vincent still just at first base

and Cerebus

So all the big players in the book love Keira the best part is she seems to be a major factor in two of them finding true love with someone else.... So not confusing right???

Aside from the rant i still adore this series and i am disappointed because the author made me fall in love with everyone and invest in them in the first place so its a catch 22, i still love the writing albeit the bloody riddles splattered everywhere that i just ended up skipping.... and still love the characters and the story line, i was again in tears and chuckling into my pillow at events within its pages, the series is still a 5 star read and this book is still good just not great in comparison to its predecessors.

Not so much Romance in this book it reminds me alot of Twilight New Moon and that heartfelt agony you get when reading the pain but we meet loads of new characters and get a deeper look into our old favorites so not all doom and gloom.

Stunning

I really have enjoyed these books, the level of detail is dizzying and a bit hard to grasp at times but enjoyable and addictive. I enjoyed this adventure in particular, especially as Draven and Keira weren't constantly at it for a change. I know reading the nasties is great but when it's not your own experience, it can get a bit much. I do wonder why Keira wanted to be with Draven as she hasn't matured yet enough to understand the concept of being faithful. Literally from the beginning she has swooned over every man that has walked past her and pretty much let them all fondle her. I do love her character other than that however as she is warm and kind. She's finally building up some inner strength and pride in herself as a woman and not weakly giving in every time a man bosses her about. Her protests last for an average of 4 seconds. I do love the tall brooding type, don't get me wrong but Keira needed to safe guard herself a little and she seems to have got that, finally, only gaining help as a last resort. I have blonde hair and do not like the use of the term, 'dumb blonde'. I find it insulting and let's be honest, it's inappropriate in the modern world. I am in no way dumb and I resent the long list of people I have heard using this term as a 'joke'. It wouldn't be funny if you said the same about a person of colour and yes of course it is the same! The author is a blonde and I'd suggest that she doesn't sell herself or the rest of us, short. It was said 3 times during this series so far, pushing an idea that doesnt make scientific sense. I am harsh in my honesty but I believe this author to be incredibly imaginative and a writer with unusual depth and great character which reflects strongly in her storyline. I like all the characters though Pip is a bit sickly sometimes and they are all obsessed with sex. I like Lucias possibly more than Draven who can be a bit petulant and spoilt which is realistic, I suppose, being an other worldly king. I also really like Ragnar and Sigurd. I shall enjoy finding out what happens to Keira next.

This book is destructive to your emotions, having the tissues ready now as this paranormal romance takes you through some soul-crushing moments of heart-wrenching twists. Draven and Kiera are so meant to be together, but the choices that come to light in this book are dark, egotistical, and heartbreaking. This is honestly my least favorite book so far as we get to a new side to Draven. I'm not too fond of the side and his choices, even if I understand their point.

This book picks up right at the cliffhanger from The Triple Goddess. I'm so glad, and I'm still stunned by that epic ending. I can't believe it; how could it be the leading character male can't be. I can't wait to find out how this ends.

This book has a wanting it; in the beginning, it is for a mature audience. It does contain explicit content and more.

Kiera is discovering heartbreak like no other. What will she do? Leivic gets to be the bearer of bad news. Kiera is distraught with numbness and heartbreak; it is soul-wrenching; it will bring tears. I mean, seriously crying over a fictional character's death, that's normal, right? Wow, we go from utter sadness to a fight like no other. She starts to almost live normally until she usually gets some visits and letters. Now it seems she has the adventure to undergo to rescue her love.

Wow, Kiera goes to hell and back, and still no Draven. This book is cryptic as she journeys with a protector she doesn't know about and an oracle giving her coded clues. I'm also surprised that we have a cast of kings but no Sophia or Vincent. When the story seems dire and is almost at its end, a knight in pale armor rescues her by buying her. This story does get weirder.

Finally, the clues and Phrophecy seem to end, and she finds her lost soul mate only to be devasted. Then this book turns toward more tears, and I hope she doesn't forgive him this time so easily. I hope she values herself enough to make him beg for it with all she has been through as she deserves nothing less and certainly not what she has been given in this book.

Thankfully this book doesn't end on a huge cliffhanger, but it doesn't end happily either. I can't wait to see what happens next, and I hope something amazing happens for Kiera.

This book is about Keira’s search to locate Dominic and rescue him as she believes he is being held against his will. She meets new allies and renews acquaintance with others. She is in for a shock when she finally locates him. The reader discovers what is behind his deception. I agree with Vincent that Keira should be told the truth but hey, I’m not the King.

Riddle me this: When we first meet Keira she has what seems to be limited experience with the opposite sex. She’s even reluctant to sleep with Dominic because she’s afraid her ignorance will be off putting. So why is she now having men practically fall at her feet and proclaim how beautiful she is whenever they encounter her? Three of them are mortal so it’s not like they’re susceptible to her Chosen/Electus status.
1. Jack
2. Dominic
3. Vincent
4. Justin
5. Lucius
6. Eddie Tucker (E.T.)
7. Sigurd
8. Jared
9. Asmodeus (more or less)

Separate issue - One of Keira's potential futures shows her married to Eddie. Libby is pregnant with her second child. If I recall correctly from the Hellbeast King books, Libby and Frank only have one daughter, amiright?

Questions: Why does Dom have to be sent to Tartarus to be tortured every night? Why won’t Lucius allow Jared to visit Keira in Germany? Why doesn’t the Oracle make another appearance to help resolve the issues between Dom and Keira? What other fates are involved?

A very exciting and varied story with a good mix of new and old characters who accompany Keira on her journey. The old characters grow even dearer to your heart, and the new ones are intriguing.

However, the crowd of men who are almost unconditionally devoted to Keira is slowly getting out of hand. I can certainly understand why some readers disagree with this aspect of the story. It can be turbulent at times. I, too, have often wondered what purpose the criticized - perhaps even borderline - intimacy with some of the male protagonists serves. Are these interactions really essential to the story? To me, the story structure screams classic “reverse harem”, but it doesn’t actually fit the genre. As a reader, I found this aspect rather unsatisfying because Keira is portrayed as an even more indecisive woman.

Once again, far too much time is spent describing locations and the characters' appearances. Since this criticism runs throughout all previous volumes and is obviously simply part of the author's style, I suppose you just have to learn to deal with it.
I have started skipping these passages when I don't feel like reading them and then seamlessly picking up the actual storyline again.

Story: 3 ⭐️
Spice: 2 🌶

Thanks for reading

I give it a 4.5 but didn’t have that option so rounded up. I love this entire series overall. It’s the second time I’ve started reading these books. The afterlife series has such amazing characters and I love the plots. I love how connected every book is and how amazing the author has made this world of hers. My only issue with this series is that she uses way too many words and drags the books along. I love faster paced books and this author is very slow paced. She could have had a better ebook with half the pages imo. But that doesn’t change the fact that I love the characters in every book. This one made me cry a lot. The author makes me laugh and cry and get mad and embarrassed for the mc. She paints fantastic images and I find myself very attached to every character. I’ve read all 12 of these books and half of the transfusion series so far (which is even better than afterlife imo) so even though I don’t like slow books, she keeps me coming back to hers.
