Possessing the uncanny ability to fry a television set from twenty paces can really wreck a girl's social life.

If you're looking for proof, just ask sixteen-year-old Alexandra Parker. After catching her boyfriend in the arms of the prettiest girl in school, she made the journey from social elite to social pariah in a haze of electricity and exploding electronics. But finding herself at the bottom of Bay View High's social hierarchy was nothing compared to the shock of discovering who--and what--she really is.

After being zapped out of a burning bookstore by the mysterious Declan--a hero nearly as handsome as he is infuriating--Alex finds herself under the protection of the powerful Grayson family. It's through them that she learns the truth: that the world she's always known is nothing like it appears to be... and that she has far more in common with them than she might want to believe.

Now, on the run from a fire-wielding hit man and a secretive government organization, Alex must navigate a strange and treacherous new world filled with superhuman mutants known as Variants. As she begins to unravel the many secrets of her family's past, she uncovers the real reason for her parents' death twelve years earlier--and finds out that the threat to her family, and to everyone she cares about, is still dangerously real.

Fried T.Vs, busted espresso machines, destroyed computer labs and burning bookstores...all in a day's work for Alexandra Parker.

Alex tries hard to be normal - she really does. It's not her fault that electronics tend to explode or short circuit around her...or that weird guys with the ability to summon fire corner her at her local bookstore.

But Alex soon discovers that this isn't a coincidence, or a figment of her imagination. Alex is a Variant - a brand of supernatural mutants, each with their own unique abilities.

There's Declan. Hot, vexing, witty and moody, Declan - like Alex - has control over electricity. He also won't stop at the chance to teleport (or 'jump') you to Ireland and expect you to find your way back. He claims not to care about Alex, but his look when she's with Nate is all:

Nate's ability is telekinesis - plus his natural charm and kind nature. Declan's opposite, he has secrets he doesn't want Alex to know - to do with a past she doesn't remember. He doesn't like Alex spending time with Declan, and you can just picture him saying:

Kenzie's Declan's sister, and with her mindreading powers this girl packs a punch! Coffee for Kenzie = life. She doesn't take any shit from the boys, either:

Along with the Variant gang - Declan, Kenzie, Nate and Brian - as well as her best friend Cassie, Alex grows into her newfound abilities. But she has no idea the danger that comes with them...nor the truth behind her parent's untimely death.

I loved this book. Unique, with well-developed humour, 'Revival' gives a new spin on the mutant genre - bringing to life a cast of characters that you will not get enough of. Trust me; by the end you'll be wishing for more! I also liked how Alex developed as a character...turning from 'mouse' to 'lioness' in that scene with the Agency when she says something along the lines of:

Totally. Badass. :D

1.5, the other half is a bonus for the Grayson family.
I wonder if it's the books I'm reading recently that's the problem or my mood that is making me so disappointed in my recent reads.

THOUGHTS WHILE READING THIS BOOK:
-Yay! Opening shopping scene!
-Conner you lying, cheating douche.
-I love Cassie ❤️ #BFFGoals
-I think I'm going to like Declan.
-PSYCHO MAN STARTS A FIRE IN A BOOKSTORE!! YOU HEATHEN! IS NOTHING SACRED!!?
-Okay, Alex (MC) is safe. Declan saved her, teleportation is handy.
-Oh! More mutants! (Or variants, whatevs)
-I love Brian! He's such a cinnamon roll!! I feel like Kenzie might be the 'sister figure' here.
-Oh, so she's Declan's sister. Okay.
-THE AUNT KNEW!! She's also a Variant. Oh Gods, go figure.
-Ah, Declan blames Alex for the deaths of all their parents. (Yep, they're all orphans, except Brian)
-Gods, if she turns out to be some all powerful prodigy I'm going to drown myself.
-Ah, I sense a triangle between Nathaniel, Declan and Alex. Goody, unnecessary complications.
-Oh lookee!! Alex can teleport too! She's getting training from Declan (sorry Nathaniel). RIP my heart.
-Oh, lookee again! She can conjure a ball of electricity from electricity!! *gasp* 🙄
-I'm really starting to dislike Alex. Such a moody and irritating girl. I'd drop her in the ocean if I could.
-Cassie got kidnapped by the bookstore burning psycho! Oh man, I hope she makes it out ok.
-Aaaaaand Alex is 'practising' with her electricity energy balls. Okay, you go kill the psycho. Don't take help from people who have HAD THEIR POWER FOR YEARS. Gosh, stubborn goat. I hate her. She's like a moody teen! She's great at times but so damn annoying too!
-Cassie is safe! Conor showed up from nowhere and he's brought back to the house too. So it's a live square now?
-Yup, she's 'special' with 3 abilities. Jesus Christ, what was wrong with teleporting?
-No, wait, plot twists, her power is that she can absorb other variant's powers. Oh, just like the dude who killed her parents. Fantastic.
-I was aboard the DeclanxAlex ship but she's so self centred because Declan had suspicions about the true nature of her powers and wouldn't tell her. He had suspicions girl!! He had to be sure before he rocked your world! Christ!
-Yeah, that's right, everyone's parents died protecting you! Choke on that! Because Masterson wanted your DNA, everyone else died.
-Oh my God Declan "He would protect the girl sitting next to him. Would fight for her until his dying breath" please don't. You deserve a better death. Please. Just let her die. I'm done with her. She started out okay but Gods she went from 100 to 0 real quick.
-Ugh, romantic scene. Bite me
-Everyone's missing and Alex is talking about looking for them while Declan tries to talk sense into here. There were 8 gifted people in the room and there was nothing out of place. Sth bad obviously happened, Alex. Not the sharpest crayon, are you?
-STOP WHINING ABOUT YOUR SHOES. THERE IS A MADMAN AFTER YOU! This girl's priorities are whacked
-So apparently Alex has a list of reasons to stay away from Declan. I have no knowledge of said list from previous chapters. Just go with Nate, I'm begging you. Leave Declan alone
-The 'girl-with-no-backbone-except-for-when-the-people-she-loves-are-in-danger' personality. Excellent. This book started out well but now I'm getting a kick out of mocking it
-Declan is impressed because she electrocuted someone and knocked him out. WTF Declan? It's electricity, it does that sometimes. Is Alex taking your IQ?
-Ah, she fired a gun to make people stop arguing instead of just yelling at them. So dramatic Alex. 🙄
-The Agency can go fuck itself. #TeamGraysonFamily
-Have I mentioned how much I love Grayson's Variant family? Those guys are awesome!!
-Aiden and Cassie. I ship that!
-Declan and Kenzie transferring to Alex's school??? This is a nightmare. Poor Declan, going to high school even after graduating.
-Oh, petty revenge on Declan for the lake thing. Real classy Alex.

THE END

There were so many questions unanswered and so much disappointed that I can't even wrap my head around it. I was in love with the book at the beginning but the tone of the book always changed so suddenly with zero warning that sometimes it didn't make any sense! I love the Grayson family but I wonder if it'll be enough for me to co tongue with the series.

Edit: the entire thing happened in three days. Three. Days.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
I have really been on a paranormal kick lately. I have been lucky because most of the books that I have been reading have all been good. This book just happened to be one that ended up being amazing.
Alex is your typical all-American teen. Pretty, popular but still grounded and very sweet. When she was very little she lost her parents in a tragic accident and has been raised by her Aunt Cecilia, who is just like a mother to her. Life is wonderful until the day of a bizarre accident. With the way the high school rumor mill runs, she soon is labeled as the crazy girl and finds herself an outcast, with only one friend to her name. Just when things seem like they can’t get worse a crazy man shows up and tries to kill her with fire that he can shoot out of his hands. But things like that don’t happen in real life, right?! Suddenly Alex is thrown in to a world she never dreamed was possible, some people do have strange powers and where her own role is more than she could ever begin to imagine.
I must say that I completely fell in love with Alex. She is such an amazingly sweet girl. Even when things her only concern is for those she loves. She is also very feisty. This comes in very handy once she meets Declan. He is the stereo-typical bad boy and uses sarcasm as self-defense. Alex does not put up with his crap at all and eventually, of course, we get to see that Declan is actually a very amazing guy.
The plot wasn’t all that unique. Think X-Men meets teen romance. That being said, I still really enjoyed this book. While it did follow a pretty predictable path the story still had enough twists to keep it fresh and interesting. The only thing that I didn’t like was that it ended. I now need to read the next book to find out what ends up happening to Alex and her friends.
One of the best things about this book is that it is a clean read. I love that there are still authors out there that understand you don’t need foul language, sex, or extreme violence to make a book great. There was nothing in this book that I found even remotely questionable, which is probably a lot of the reason why I loved it so much.
I encourage every fan of a good paranormal story to read this book. With action, romance and kick butt teens with special powers, why wouldn’t you love it?!

Looveedd ittt! (3.5 stars)
The main reason it's missing a star and a half is a problem I've been having with many recent books, and that's that, the story is fantastic, I loved the plot, I adored all the unique characters and their relationships, but it's totally ruined by the fact everything happened in the space of around 3 days, I totally loved Alex, she was the right amount of powerful and WTF AM I DOING, it was a decent balance. Again main issue I had was that she had mastered her powers to a ridiculous level of control within 2 hours :/ that was bad writing.
Despite this, I've ordered the next one, as I did enjoy the banter and relationships that (yeah developed wayyyyy to quickly) but still felt nice.
If this book had been written exactly the same, but stretched out over several weeks, I'd have given it 5 stars and added it to my favourites! :D

"One of a kind girl with exceptional powers everyone loves saves the day" series are the worst. I have read some that fit this bill and really didn't like them. I downloaded this book and then read some reviews stating that's how this book was....and put off reading it for months. I really expected to dislike or not finish this book. Oh to my surprise I loved it.

Alex does have exceptional powers. But she isn't one of a kind, and she can't save the day. She needs her family more than they need her. And...there is a bad boy. Be still my heart! :)

Just please Jena Leigh do not make this a harem or love triangle series.

Book Review- Revival by Jena Leigh

Alex Parker is getting over her break up and her social piranha status. She also mysteriously affects electrical devices. She doesn’t know how but thinks of herself as a freak. She also notices a mysterious boy seems to be following her. He seems to disappear and he took his own picture from a camera that was across the pier. Something weird is going on.
When Alex gets caught in a bookstore on fire, Declan is there to rescue her. He takes her back home and dumps them both in the lake. Alex has no clue what is going on or who these people are. Apparently Grayson knew her parents and her aunt. She has these unknown abilities. No one told her anything especially her aunt. Now she is living with these new acquaintances that know more about her than she does and a mad man is after her. When that man kidnaps her friends to draw her out, no one she knows is safe. She has to train and trust in her new friends and abilities.
I loved this first book. The characters are a great bunch of teens. Kenzie and Cassie are awesome. They are very outspoken and two peas in a pod. I liked it when she joined the group. Alex took everything much better than I would have. She was also a great character. She was brave and smart. She was a fast learner and likable.
Each character excelled in a certain ability which made teamwork a theme and great fun for the reader as the characters were met with dangerous situations. I am excited to see how the story evolves from here. There are still a lot of secrets being kept. This story revealed a few that left the characters reeling.
The ending is cute and Florida has no clue what it’s in for with the move the characters are making. Great read to start an interesting series. I give it a 4 out of 5.

I like the story, but there was something about the writing that seems underdeveloped to me.

The prose was too simplistic, the pacing was too fast (the events happen in 3 days), the characters didn't develop throughout the story, and there was no clear narrator. The author wrote in 3rd person point of view, which is great for including everyone's thoughts if done well, but in this case, she kept shifting POVs almost every chapter and sometimes even within the chapter. It was easy to follow since the writing is pretty concise, but for me, it was very annoying to see those POV shifts. The story would have been better off had it been written in 1st person point of view from whichever character who could have told the story best - similar to the way Rick Riordan's Heroes of Olympus series is written.

There were some good points. I liked how Alex didn't go into denial when she discovered that she was a Variant. Her acceptance was refreshing compared to some stories where the character agonizes over the truth before accepting. Additionally, I liked how she wasn't too hormonal over Declan, which again is a fresh breath of air since I recently finished the Divinicus Nex series. (Great series, but the main character was WAY TOO hormonal and obsessed with how good-looking the Hex boys were.)

Overall, this book just could have been better. It has potential, but it could use a lot of improvement.

Oh, one more quip. I'm not exactly sure how Declan falls for Alex so quickly. That romance seemed like it was just thrown in.

This book is incredible. Definitely one of my favorite books. The characters are lovable and all have their own personalities.
It starts with Alex, shopping with her best friend, and they see a boy. Alex sees him again after, and she has this feeling that he's not like other boys.
Then, when Alex almost burns to death in a bookstore, and he is there to save her, she is thrown into a completely different life, having to deal with the insanely hot, insanely infuriating Declan, who drops her into freezing water more then once, and a quieter, sweeter Nate who seems to have some history with Alex that she doesn't know about.
Alex discovers that her Aunt has been lying to her all her life about her parents, and herself. Alex has powers that set her apart from regular humans, and from the other Variants as well.
This is a must read. I fell in love with Declan right away, looking forward to when he would be back in the scene. Read it!
I cant wait for the second book!!

Definitely a fun read! With quotes like this: (Alex and Declan - who barely know each other - are discovered in an seemingly intimate position)

"This isn't what it looks like," said Alex.

"This is exactly what it looks like," said Declan. "What's a guy got to do to get a little privacy around here?"

I laughed a lot in this book. I really enjoyed the characters, and I'm a little torn that there isn't too much of a love triangle. I guess I just wanted to see more of I really liked him.

A fairly fast-paced, funny, adventurous read. Highly recommend.

I bought this because the great reviews and the "try me" sample was excellent. I'm not sure what happened but it all went down hill from there. I'm surprised by all of the amazing reviews. I read a lot of books and this just wasn't for me I guess.

Okay...starting reviews are always the worst...As an overall read, I loved it. I thought that it was really good and really interesting. Revival is a great start to what i hope will be a great series. Alexandra (also known as - now get ready there are quite a few: Lexie, Lex, Lee-Lee, Alex, and pet - and yes that pet is suppose to seem as creepy as it does). The multiple nicknames can be bothersome but in this book each one belonged to another character, there wasn't intermixing, and the use of the nicknames i understand is a sense of familiarity and family/love or in one case possessive and creepy. So anyways lets start this review then on Alex.

Characters:

Alex: I loved her. Thank god for once I don't have this total trying to be a badass but really on the inside I'm a softy. I don't mind when characters - especially girl leads - are nice. I really don't because to me i can relate better to them, and I grow to care about them more. She isn't all antsy because her parents were killed in a car accident when she was young, she isn't pissy because her whole social life is destroyed because her jackass of an ex cheated on her. No she takes it in stride and doesn't hate the world. But don't be thinking this girl is all butterflies and rainbows because she isn't. When she needs to be is a badass, when she needs to be sarky and sarcastic she is and beautifully as well. And at the end she really does blossom into a woman i think that those people that hate push-overs - which i honestly don't think she is - can love. When i say i don't think she is a push-over i mean it, so what if she doesnt like confrontations, not a lot of normal, sane people do... or at least the people i know don't. Anyways I think she is a lead that people can love without having to go through all the hoops to do it, she is instantly lovable. But now onto the one you learn to love.

Declan: Our boy-wonder. He is - well in my head he is way dirty blonde but doesn't specify if i remember correctly - anyways blonde, tall, hazel eyed hottie, with a BAD tempter that i found i love. He is sarcastic, a bit to angry, and a "practical joker". I really liked his character, and i really liked the very close to but not quite change in his character. When we first meet him i think that he really is just kind of an ass and that is how he roles but it seems to me like he was trying to be just an ass to Alex. I am not entirely sure, because he is somewhat close to his real (his sister Kenzie) and adoptive family. So i think the attempt at his hard-core hate wasn't quite as far as it could have gone, i didn't mind really but at the end when he starts to grow and realizes he is changing to me i didn't quite see it. But also there were things left unsaid about him - he drinks we know that, but i only saw him hung-over once and there was implied that he is like that a lot. i just didn't see it, and i know i am trying to take in account this book is only within the span of like less than a week. But either way i loved this Doc Marten wearing hottie.

Nate: IS a mystery. There i said it. He is probably why i didn't give this the book the five stars, well there is another thing that i will get to later...not the point at the moment. He is a total mystery i cannot figure out. I want to think he was suppose to part of a love triangle, i really did but i just wasn't feeling it. He and Alex don't get a lot of alone time together, but it is obvious he cares for her, but is also obvious that Kenize who she just met cares about her as well. So you see my point... Anyways moving on. Nate is keeping a lot of secrets, A LOT. AND i am burning to know what they are, and why he is keeping them, and what his relationship with Alex really is... Not just because of my undying love for love triangles - yes i am being sarcastic. So Nate = big mystery.

Now for the adoptive family: There is Grayson (the father), Brian (once referred to as Brain - also Grayson's real son), Kenize (Declan's real sister), Aiden (cousin to Kenize and Declan doesn't show up til later), and Cali (Alex's real anut who is always living with). So i liked all these characters, i did, Brian got lost a little bit at the end but i understand why because he is young and there is a lot of action scenes so they need to keep him safe so he is hidden away. And now to why i was slightly angry with this book, there were a TON of POV changes, i don't think i would have minded so much if we suck to just a few but every character but the villain moments they were telling the story and it changed without saying "Hey we are changing to Declan" the only time i really got horribly confused was at the beginning with the first change, and then the second change out of Alex/Declan's POV... i started to be like okay i will accept that now. Though this book was NOT like Push the movie, i got a little vibe from that with the powers at first! Later when there are other characters with more than the same three powers i was like alright, sweet and here we go!

So well that was my small rant on powers so moving on the last the of the characters - yeah not done with that yet. Now the friends: Cassie, Conner, and Jessica? - Cassie and Conner really are the only two that matter. Conner is the jackass ex, so we don't care about him. Cassie is the best friend and i think that i love that she was included because i was scared at the beginning that their friendship wasn't that strong (her and Alex i mean), i am glad that she wasn't a friend that was dropped. I liked her and she felt very real to me, she didn't just let things go because its easier for the book, she was used against Alex, to draw her out, and she doesn't just be like, "oh i was kidnapped no big deal!" she does try to deal with it, but she does still feel scared and i think that had to be one of my favorite parts.

So now that i wrote all i can about characters, yeah i am not touching the villain - why you ask? because i don't do spoilers if i can absolutely can help it. And i don't want to try to do the villain because well Spoilers.

Plot: It's a pretty much and i hate to say this run of the mill, we have superpowers but we are not superheroes, just people trying to live normal lives plot. But not quite either. It isn't - that we've experienced yet - like a rebel group that wants to take over the human (normal humans) race and rule over them because we are better! But there is government involvement which is kind of the norm for this type of story and i am okay with that. It really though is a great plot i enjoyed it and there were a few surprises and when i thought i was completely right - i mean come on i know everything - i was wrong, not that i was mad, i was very graceful about it, and i appreciated that she didn't go with the standard obvious answer. So great plot :)

Ending: No cliff-hangers. Thank God. But throughout the story there are a lot of unanswered questions, so i hope, hope the next one is coming out, and coming out soonish. I think that this was a really good sci-fi read without having to be too over the top and annoying about it. So its a great way to start the year - first book i finished in 2013! ;).

So now for the annoying part. If you enjoyed my take on this book, and you wouldn't mind seeing what i might have to say about other books, and why you should read them if you haven't already, or not read them...check out my blog! YAY BLOG!! yeah that i that annoying kid... so please check me out, and my friend who i started it out with: http://theviolethourbookreviews.wordp...

Riveting

Revival is refreshing for super human hungry Harry Potter loving fans and Divergent fans alike. Better still if you're a fan of both worlds. The world of Variants is ordinary and extraordinary at once! It's got action, adventure, and a little romance all wrapped up in a coming-of-age and -to-terms with having superior human abilities. Whether or not you like Xmen or Marvel or DC Universe or Harry Potter or Divergent, if you want exceptional circumstances via beautiful multiple-reads-worthy storytelling this is a great way to spend a day or a few.

I can't be bothered to write a proper review, so here are my main thoughts.

Despite the premise not straying far from the cliche YA storyline of girl-with-powers-is-special, I loved the characters. They were absolutely the best aspect to the story, not to mention that the dialogue had me laughing at times. It is kind of insta-lovey and I'm on team Nathaniel, but I think I can deal with it. With such a amazing cast, I think I'll be continuing the series.

Exciting

Ok, a teenager with angst, a friend who will protect and an ex who wont let go. Just keep reading. The teenager who happens to have some weird power, a mysterious man/ boy following them and an ex who wont let go. Mystery abounds, the powers, a hidden life and a secret that could destroy the teenager. Mystery, magic, a murderous man, a secret government agency and an ex who wont let go.

Going into Revival quite blind, not having bothered to re-read the blurb to trigger my memory for what to expect, meant I was not expecting a fast-paced, smile-inducing, heart-warming thriller that kept me glued to its pages. With a full cast of loveable characters, an interesting mythology involving a genetic mutation and a secret government agency, and the suspense of an increasingly dangerous threat, I couldn’t help but fall in love with Revival!

I’m going to be completely honest. I could have disliked a lot of things about Revival - the plot, the world-building, the mythology – and still loved it because of its characters! Alex is the type of heroine I absolutely love to read about! She’s witty and sassy, vulnerable and curious, but she also has a backbone when it matters the most. And she’s a lover of books!
Now words, on the other hand…Those she understood.

The countless stacks of books piled high in every corner of her bedroom attested to that, as did the half a dozen leather-bound journals she’d filled to the brim with her thoughts and stories.
Her best friend Cassie is a pitbull and loyal to a fault – she committed social suicide by sticking by Alex after the whole fried electrical equipment fiasco, and she makes a point to remind Alex that it’s their ex-friends who are missing out. She is also present for most of the plot! Can I get an amen for a best friend who, you know, is actually with the heroine for the dangerous stuff, being best friend-ly? Declan has a tortured, bad-boy exterior, but his insides are all warm and fuzzy – his smug grin never failed to put a smile on my face, especially when Alex wiped it off his face with a show of her growing powers.
Alex wasn’t sure what it was about this guy. Declan seemed to be bringing out a side of her that, before tonight, she hadn’t even known existed.

It was as though he’d somehow managed to light a fire inside of her. A fire that was now slowly starting to consume her, transforming her as the blaze grew brighter, searching for new ways to shine through.

Sure, he was driving her half-crazy in the process with his obnoxious attitude and that damned cheeky grin…But Alex’s growing desire to prove herself to him was forcing her to be far more brazen than she would have, normally.
And the rest of Revival’s misfit group – Nate, Kenzie, Brian and even Aiden – all added to the family dynamic that had me falling in love with them all individually, but even more-so as a whole.

Fortunately, Revival didn’t need to rely on its awesome characters, because almost everything else was awesome too! Surprisingly, considering they’re on the run from a Variant with some murderous tendencies for most of the book, Revival was really funny! I had so many laugh-out-loud moments, that I had to stop jotting them down or my whole book would have been highlighted!
Declan, meanwhile, just stood there, a statue amidst the chaos, staring into the open refrigerator Judging from the intensity of his gaze, the secrets of the universe were hiding somewhere behind the orange juice and would be revealed to hum if he simply glared at the container for long enough.

She was also quick to note that the man staring down at her was built like a god, with wavy, dirty-blond hair that came to his shoulders and eyes the color of jade.

Cassie was starting to wonder if all the guys in this new world of Alex’s were destined to be so ridiculously attractive.
The mythology surrounding the Variants was fleshed out enough to satisfy my curiosity, but left enough holes to keep me in anticipation for the sequel. I loved learning about the history of everyones’ parents, and their work with a secret government agency to combat threats as only they could – with their special powers of teleportation, telekinesis, element manipulation and mimicry (among other things).
Declan risked another glance toward their assailants and raised his eyebrows in surprise. Nate had created a barricade out of the parked cars, piling them on top of each other until the wall of automobiles stretched from one side of the garage to the other.

Sometimes, the things Nate proved to be capable of scared the hell out of him. Flinging two-ton cars around like they were bath toys happened to be one of those things.
While I would have liked to learn more about Alex’s abilities, why she was a “freak amongst freaks,” and what had happened during the year Nate spent in Seattle, the information I did get gave me a certain understanding that has since fuelled my desire to learn even more about thier history!

The only issue I had with Revival, and the only reason it’s getting four-stars instead of five, was because I found the ending to be slightly anti-climatic. Finally face-to-face with the man who held her friends hostage, threatened the life of her aunt, and who had been working tirelessly at kidnapping her (for reasons unknown), and he lets her walk away. Umm…what?! And the big showdown between Alex and the agency? Also disappointing in its lacklustre.

Regardless, I still loved Revival. I’m quite sad to say goodbye to these characters, but I look forward to the day we can meet again!

This one is perfect for a TV series, your teen psychic team is ready to go. Beginnings of a love triangle, check. Secret government team/experiment backstory, check. Teens dealing with the fallout, check. High school still a problem, check. In all seriousness, I really did love the characters and settings in this one, but, it does read like a great script.

Rogue

Well, we have a dash of mutant power, romance, suspense, actions, comedic arrogant guy, and I don't know what you call three guys who want the same girl and different points in the book - a love quadriangle. Anyway, I absolutely loved this book and I believe you will too,

Great Read

I love good, clean, fun stories, and this one fit the bill perfectly. A dose of supernatural mixed with the perfectly ordinary that makes it almost believable, and completely engrossing. Love, love, loved it! Now for the next one in the series...

I think this series has great potential. Many mysteries still remain to keep me interested. The characters are not very strong or complex but that my get better as the series goes on.

Recommended for readers 15 & up.

Although this story got a little bogged down about a third of the way through, overall it was OK. I do like a good DNA variation story. It’s a shame there aren't more variations in abilities though. Maybe they mention more in later books?

Had this on my kindle for a while but wasn't sure about it. So glad I gave it a chance. It was such a fun, nice read. I loved all the characters, the drama, and that it didn't focus on a big romance, though it did hint towards it. I'll definitely be reading the next one

Very cute, love how humanity is capable of having paranormal variants in our gene pool. Loved the cute plot and characters!
