I read this one back in August, so the details are kind of fuzzy. However, I found Tribute to be a refreshing take of Merthur fiction (and believe me, I've read quite a few!). From the blurb, it is obvious that the setup for the story (The Hunger Games) means there will be violence (of the bloody kind), angst, and the fear of death. My only disappointment for the story was the arena. While the arena in The Hunger Games took place in a vast forested area, the arena in the story is actually a huge castle. While this is more appropriate for a Merthur fiction, it kind of limited what the tributes were able to do. However, the overall story was still great. Tributes remains to be in my top 5 Merthur fiction. TheAvalonian is a very talented writer, and fans of Merthur should check out the author's other work(s) as well.

initially readable, but things stop making sense extremely fast.
i wanted to tap out when arthur and merlin enjoyed a brother-sister incest joke hours after Arthur was forced to , but I didn't.
to my sorrow.
fun Merlin/Hunger Games mashup idea, but not executed with enough attention to the details to avoid the kind of annoying failures of logic and ghastly tone-deaf emoting that drives me bonkers.
also? and this is a thing that bothered me about the hunger games too:
you're in a tournament of death.
everything you do is broadcast to millions.
you don't scratch yourself, you don't snore, you don't pick your nose, you don't sneeze, you don't burp, you don't fart, you don't piss, and you don't shit without everyone seeing it on television.
and eventually, your ass is going to die.

and yet...
...your thinking is to deny yourself the comfort of another's touch because you want to maintain your sense of dignity and keep something back... for yourself?
you'd rather die unloved than bonk on camera, y'sayin?

This is a really great Merlin/Hunger Games fanfic starring Merlin as the main protagonist. While it would seem that the main antagonist is Arthur, their relationship changes in the arena. What I have read so far has me hooked.
