After ruining the best relationship he has ever had, Elliot's life takes a turn for the worse and he isn't happy with who he's become.
Deciding to spend three months in the UK on a working visa, in a bid to find himself again, he boards a plane to London. During the flight he meets Paige, a fellow Aussie with a closed heart and a lot to hide.
The closer he gets to Paige the more he's sure that she's hiding something. Will it be enough to send him running? Or does he love her enough to fight this time?

A huge thank you to all who have taken the time to read and review! I loved writing Elliot's story. And Paige, I love her, she was actually the part of another book idea, but I hadn't found her hero yet. When readers started calling for a sequel to A Beautiful Struggle, it dawned on me, her hero was Elliot.
It seems the roles have reversed in this book. You know, as much as I hate to harken back to the first book, where I invested almost the entire length of the book in Elliot and Katrina only to be shafted while another guy slipped in and became who she ended up with, I have no choice but to preach about feeling shafted yet again.
In book one, David was as dull as a butter knife...there was nothing about him that was truly intriguing and, furthermore, the lack of real focus on him throughout the book is what left me, as a reader, completely blindsided that Katrina ended up with him. So pathetic and unrealistic. None of the behavior or commentary supported that move at all. He was more of a secondary character than anything.
Then there was Elliot who was fun and exciting and a character I enjoyed and felt should have ended up with Katrina.
This book should have been DAVID'S book, not Elliot's.
Elliot was as exciting as an Insurance Seminar. Paige was barely tolerable...and the overall feel of the book felt like he was just trying to drown himself in her to erase Katrina...the girl who he didn't fight hard enough for and who got away. Chemistry was not believable at all, and seemed forced.
This relationship was yet another relationship that had no merit or believability and would have only truly worked if at the end of the first book, Katrina let Elliot come back, explain and work it out...and David left hurt and rejected. This second book would have made better sense if it was David moving on to the next girl, like he typically did all those many years, and finally found the one he truly wanted...not the comfortable one that they all settled for.
This series is a bit backwards and out of whack. It needs to be revisited, revised and relaunched in a way that actually makes sense and supports the way the author let the characters flow, because as they stand now, who everyone ends up with is the equivalent of falling down the rabbit hole. Maybe the next book they all will be invited to the Mad Hatter's house for tea...
I just long for some realistic behavior and consistency...
Just an ordinary story...and quite disappointing too!, March 9, 2013

I struggled to finish this one, the first half was spent with Elliot and Paige out of their clothes, the repetition of same sex scenes in different parts of wherever they maybe and coming from each pov, became so monotonous and boring.( I survived it by doing a lot of skimming ).The dialogue didn't fare any better either, it's mostly between their roommates as to where they are going for dinner while walking to the destination they've chosen to go to, then dancing and getting drunk and plastered, which was quite a lot! aside from Paige, I think this lot are a bunch of winos.
There's a lot of angst...Paige dark past, her own mother kicked her out of the house at the tender age of 15, gave her $200 dollars and set her out on the street to fend for her own self. ( hard to believe, isn't it? ) She slept from one guy to another, in exchange whomever would give her food and a place to stay and drugs and booze. Then one day she decided to go to UK to find her English father, this is after she woke up from the harsh reality from giving birth to a stillborn baby which she didn't know she carried, wow! that's really amazing! ( don't you think? ) Nothing was clear on how old she was by then except her constant abuse from alcohol and drugs and lots of sex from different men. We have no idea where she got the money to pay for her tattoo of a Phoenix that covered her whole back and around her rib cage ( I mean that must have cost quite a lot, right? I paid $150 for a teeny tiny rose tattoo on my ankle ) much more the cost of her flight fare to UK armed with her full pledge knowledge of being an accomplished hairdresser! What? wait a minute, how did she do that? she could barely survive, nothing to eat she was so malnourished, she just made do with what she got from the men she traded food and drugs for sex. I know I'm repeating myself now but gosh, this is getting more absurd as I trudge along!
There was nothing really spectacular about Elliot either ( I don't get what the gushing of how dreamy Elliot was about ) He's just an ordinary normal guy, nursing a broken heart, decided to give up being a barrister ( isn't a barrister a lawyer? This is what confuses me on why some Amazon reviewers gushing about a man who'd prefer to be a physical trainer rather than a lawyer, huh?) work in UK as a physical trainer for about three months. He met Paige on the plane on the way, he was attracted so he went for it, they had sex, he fell in love but had to go back to Australia to re- apply for another visa then went back to UK, found Paige pregnant of their child; ( which by the way, she had no plan of telling him, though she swears to him she was planning to, when? ) married Paige; they had the baby, took them back to Aussie to live happily ever after... the end! The constant switching of POV every page in the same exact scene annoyed the heck out of me, and sadly for me, I'm now sporting bald spots from pulling my hair from getting so annoyed! ARG!!!
Jeez, can't wait to finish this book. It's so f.... boring and don't now why but Page is going on my nerves, especially on BBQ. First book is ok and I loved Elliot. on my opinion there was no need for a sequel.
How did I get this book early? I was one of the lucky people selected to be an early reviewer for this book after also reviewing A Beautiful Struggle.
And I have to say that I LOVED IT, I was a bit worried going into it because I was such a big fan of Elliot and Katrina together but this new relationship - OMG I loved them together and don't even care about Katrina anymore. The writing style is different as Ms Anderson has taken on a dual point of view between Elliot and Paige, I loved being in both of their heads.
So what's it about? Elliot and Paige meet on the plane on their way to London. Both of them are on a bit of a mission to get away from the lives their unhappy with and perhaps try and find themselves again while their there.
Paige is a woman with a tortured past - she's harbouring a whole lot of secrets that she doesn't want to share because she thinks she's unredeemable.
Elliot is strong, he's patient, he's understanding and just that little bit forceful with her so that she slowly opens up and let's him in.
For Paige, she wants this to be a 'holiday romance' deal because she doesn't believe she can have a happy ever after and Elliot needs to return to Australia.
But for Elliot, he feels that he's found his one and he's not about to let her go.
From there on it's an emotional roller coaster that had me holding my throat while I read wide-eyed, desperate to find out what happened next.
I will stop here because I don't want to give anything away but I loved the way it ended!
A truly beautiful book worthy of 5 starts. This is my favourite of the two book it completely blew me away. I got a little emotional (story a little close to home). I am so happy when us fucked up people get a happen ending. Everything was so developed. Paige wow what a women for all that she went through I admire her strength and I was able to relate to her character, she had a start- fragile, close off damaged then we saw her letting her guards down but it was still a struggle and by the end she was finally healing and opening up allowing herself to fully accept Elliot's love and that of his family. Elliot I felt sorry for him in the first book, but it was all worth it to see him finally gets the girl that was made for him. He matured a lot from beautiful struggle Loved how he was develop and I saw the growth. I enjoyed all the characters everything was just perfect with this book we got everything tied up nicely in a neat little bow. The story was told with such power and emotion the had we gasping Lilliana captured this beautifully, the feeling of that come with a past like Paige's my heart swell to finally see her happy God knows us messed up people deserve a little happiness. This book really touched me it reminded me that you can get over your pass and move on and find happiness you just have to open yourself up to the possibility when it present it self. Truly terrific job. Really love this book I recommend to everyone especially the mess up people of the world.
I admit... I was Team David in the first book, but I still really liked Elliot. I fell in love with him while reading this book. He's learned that his TSTL (too stupid to live) moment cost him what he thinks is true love. To see him struggle with Paige and fighting for her, it broke my heart. I wanted him to find happiness so badly and it almost seemed like he lose again. Poor Paige. Just from her thoughts, I knew something horrific happened to her, but her letter to Elliot. Why?!? I rarely understand why characters are so adamant that they are unlovable, but I can see where Paige is coming from. If I went through what she did, I'd probably think the same thing. Paige is a strong woman, but she's also very insecure. In the end, she allows Elliot to be her rock and they learn a lot from each other.
I loved this book. One aspect of the book that added to the story is the dual POV's. Its difficult to read an intense love with only one person's perspective. A Beautiful Forever switches between Elliot's and Paige's POV often and we see both perspectives in most scenes. I felt that added depth to the story. I also loved all of the characters, with the exception of Paige's parents. Worst. Parents. Ever. Especially her mom... Elliot and Paige's flat-mates in London were hysterical. They were supportive and pushed Paige to give Elliot a chance. I was a little confused with Katrina's appearances. I know that she had to be there for Elliot to move on, but I wanted someone to say "awkwaaaard" when she and Elliot were talking. I fell a bit more for Elliot when he said seeing Katrina at the end of the book made him notice how little they knew about each other. Lastly, I felt the book had the perfect amount of spacing. It didn't dwell on one event for too long and there were no weird time gaps. It progressed and flowed with ease. Fantastic book...
WOW! A Beautiful Forever by Lilliana Anderson packed a lot of punch! This was one of ‘those’ sequels that in some ways, blitzed the first book; remaining faithfully true to the characters, was fabulous in its twisty plot, and had even more incredibly sexy sex!
If you fell in love with gorgeous hunk of sin, Elliot Roberts in A Beautiful Struggle, you will be head over heels with this generous, thoughtful and sexy man in this book. In an attempt to find meaning and purpose, extracting himself from his ‘same old’ daily rhythm of life, he found instead the stunning yet traumatically scarred Paige Larsen, and was instantly enamoured by her exotic beauty. Yet, he did find purpose and hope as well.
Paige was a survivor; fiercely independent, fiercely shuttered, completely alone. It wasn’t the lure of Elliot’s looks that entrapped her, but his loving acceptance. Her self-loathing and terribly sad story was heartbreaking to read, but her road to recovery was credibly portrayed and hopeful in its conclusion.
Taking her characters out of Australia, London bound, was a gutsy and successful move for this author. She really captured the lifestyle of Aussies in England - with their delight of beloved treats from home and the distinctive pub life of London described perfectly. I loved the length of this book as it provided enough of a timeline for a believable and thorough story. The fact it switched easily and often between POV allowed for more depth and greater insight into Paige and Elliot’s minds and hearts. Thoroughly captivating. Extremely hot! Thoroughly recommended!
Thank you Lilliana Anderson for the privilege of reading A Beautiful Forever for an honest review.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
This book is about Elliot and his new love interest Paige. Because I was team Elliott in the book Beautiful Struggle, I couldnt wait to read more about him. You can truly see his growth from Beautiful Struggle to now. He is definitely more of a fighter in this book and will not back down to challenges. I LOVE me so Elliott!!!!! I wish he could have down more of this in the first book but then we wouldnt have this one.
Paige was a handful!!!! She had some major issues that she couldnt shake and couldnt let go of the past. She constantly let her past affect her future. She didnt feel like she deserved to be loved of that she was worth fighting for because all of her life, no one ever fought for her until Elliott came along. Even though she got on my nerves a little I could still sympathize with her. In real life there are several people who experience something similar to what Paige went through. I felt so sorry for her and respected her even more as a person once I read her letter to Elliot when she finally revealed everything to him! She couldnt heal completely until she let go of everything that she was holding on inside. I loved Elliott even more that he didnt let her or anyone else run him off like the last time. He let her know that he loved her despite of her past. Her past was her past and he wanted her future! Oh I loved it!!
The author nailed it with this one!!!! I will read anything she puts out!
This was a beautiful ending for Elliot. We met Elliot in A Beautiful struggle where he fell in love with Katrina but the relationship...well, I'll just say it didn't work out, in case anyone reading this review hasn't read that story yet. In A Beautiful Forever Elliot goes to the UK to find himself and meets Paige on the plane ride there. Paige has a heartbreaking back story, and while Elliot is all in from the get go, his big struggle in this one is convincing her to give into her feelings. One thing that drives me crazy about most romance stories is that they typically end once the couple gets past whatever hurdles they need to clear in order to be together. If we are lucky we might get an epilogue with a glimpse into the future. I absolutely love how this book carries us into their relationship a ways and gives us a chance to see them settled and happy. And, it was done in a way where the reader is still entertained. Well done!
I loved this book for so many reasons. It was so much better than the first book. Oh, and I do love me some Elliott. I slowly fell head over heals for him. His love story with Paige was so sweet. This story has everything you love in a romance and more.
The best part of this story is the author. She wrote a compelling and complete story. No stupid epilogue at the end. I just love that. She answered all the questions that you had and she didn't leave anything hanging out there for you to wonder. I think so many authors leave to much open for the reader to mill it around, which drives me crazy because I have a wild imagination and over think things that will keep me up at night thinking about it. It's just refreshing to have a true HEA over several chapters.
At the end of the first book it felt wrong. What was going to happen to Elliot? He was torn, shattered and couldn't seem to find himself. I was ecstatic when I knew there was another book. A Beautiful Forever was heart wrenching. There were so many emotions going through me that it almost felt real; like I was Paige. It conveyed the true meaning of love and what it means to fight for something that you know you can't live without. This book brought me to tears; tears of sadness and tears of happiness. It was a wonderful story of struggle, fining oneself, falling in love and getting the happily ever after that everyone desires!!! I would recommend this book and its prequel to everyone. Such a beautiful story.
OMG!!!!!!!OMG!!!! What a FAN-TAB-U-LOUS READ!!! I thought I LOVED Elliot in "A Beautiful Struggle", WELL, I'm head over heels in LOVE now!!! WOW!!!! What a PERFECT ending for Elliot is all I'm going to say!! You must read this book to understand! Elliot & Paige are GREAT together it's when they're apart that things are not so great!!!! The Ending was Complete Perfection!!! I'm so glad I stopped sulking after "A Beautiful Struggle" because I wanted Elliot with Katrina! Boy was I wrong...Elliot met his soul mate, Paige while on a plane to the UK & fell hard for her! I'm so glad he fought for their relationship! SWEET!!!!! :D
I came across this book from a friend and I decided to read A "Beautiful Struggle" first after a review recommendation to read book one for background knowledge. I ABSOLUTELY love Elliott and the continuation of his story. I had mixed emotions with how the first book ended, but was delighted to see how his story continues. What a powerful relationship of friendship, love and hope for both Elliott & Paige. I could easily see a third book on the continuation of Katrina & David's story. There could be some ups and downs to get her to the alter.... I highly recommend reading this story, you will not be disappointed.
I loved this book. I am so into happy ever afters and lots of romance and angst and this book had it all. Kudos to Ms Anderson on a wonderful series. I will be watching for anything new she writes. I read this non stop. I liked Elliott's character much better in this book - he and Paige were a wonderful couple.
Lilliana has done it again, I could not wait to read Elliot's story. I loved everything about this book, I enjoyed the journey Elliot took me in finding himself and his love for Paige. A must read for all cant wait to read more from lill
Once upon a time, I requested to review a book on Goodreads entitled, A Beautiful Struggle. It was going great up until the story took a whole different path and I was left feeling confused. I liked it but it broke my heart too.
No. Lilliana broke my heart. Not just mine! There were plenty of others who were left devastated!
Okay that was a bit dramatic. Anyway.............. obviously, we were rooting for Elliot. Don't get me wrong, I liked the HEA in the first book but I just can't stand not knowing what happened to Elliot. It was frustrating because Elliot was The One for me and there were so many unanswered questions. So just imagine how I felt when Lilli asked if I wanted to review A Beautiful Forever as well. Oh man, cue the hallelujah chorus!!!
That's basically the backgrounder for all the feels I had with this book. I must warn you that while I try very hard to keep an objective view of this book for the sake of giving an honest and fair review, bear in mind that I'm just way too happy to be reading about Elliot again. Because he's da bomb. And I love him.
So the book starts off with a prologue which is actually the epilogue in A Beautiful Struggle only it's in Elliot's POV this time. It was so heart wrenching reading Elliot's thoughts and how he's still not over Katrina. It was an entirely new side of Elliot because in the first book he was this mysterious, gorgeous bad boy but here, you can really see how his breakup with Katrina and the events after that changed him. From the get go I knew I was going to enjoy the book, simply because Elliot's different now.
What I really liked about this book were all the raw emotions put into it. From the very beginning we all know that Elliot has been through a lot and that he's ready for a change; he wants to find himself again. And then we have Paige, who's broken and has experienced quite a lot that's enough to make her closed off to other people. I also liked that the story's written in their alternating POV; it helped me understand both of them better. If the entire book was written only in Elliot's perspective, I would easily get frustrated with Paige for being stubborn. But since I also got to read her story, I fell in love with her too... not as much as I did for Elliot of course but you get the point. Throughout the story, whether they were happy or sad, the emotions were there and it was so amazing how Lilli was able to vividly show just how much love these two people have for each other. It was a bit insta love in the beginning but I was glad it didn't quite push through. The physical attraction was clearly there but Paige was just too careful that she didn't let Elliot get close early on. It was good though, because that allowed room for them to be friends first so the deeper attraction followed naturally.
I absolutely adored the Elliot Roberts in this book! He's just so different. I mean, he's still the charming Elliot that he was in the first book but here... he's grown. All the tough times he's been through molded him into a better, maturer person. He's fallen madly in love with Paige and he really did everything he could to keep it this time. At some point, specifically around 70% of the book, the story became too painful to read because I felt like Elliot has been through enough and him having to go through hell again was too much. I had to remind myself that the title's A Beautiful Forever and it'll only get better. Everything worked out in the end because he fought for what he wanted, and that was to be with Paige. I can't tell you how happy I was when Elliot told Paige, "Fuck you, Paige. You don't get to decide this." THAT'S MY BOY!!!
Paige is also a memorable character. she's had a horrible past that remains a mystery for most of the book but all throughout you get an idea of how bad exactly her past was. I fell in love with her character because she felt so real every time she shared part of her story. I also love how spunky and strong she was. Furthermore, I think Lilli couldn't have done a better job at creating or picking a partner for Elliot. They complimented each other so well! Even their sex scenes were better than the ones in the other book! I don't know if it's because I'm pro-Elliot but I just think they're better in this one. It's filled with passion and love more than pure lust, get my drift? So even if they weren't as intense as the ones in the first book, I still think they're way better. Anyway, Elliot and Paige - an amazing couple. They were each other's support system and I love how their love story panned out.
I also loved the author's storytelling. I like the overall pacing; some parts were a bit slower than most because it only helped build the story more. Aside from that, I loved how there was still an element of surprise towards the end! I'm not about to spoil it for you because it's cool how the author revealed it. It was one of those, "I can't believe I didn't see that coming!" moments.
I am definitely in love with this book. So in love that I stayed up late last night finishing it even if I was already super sleepy. I had to down a mug of coffee just to stay up because I didn't want to sleep without finishing it and knowing how it all ended. I had my heart broken in the first book, but it was put together again in this one.
I have to say though, I loved that Katrina had a couple of appearances in the book even if they were a bit awkward. I liked her being in the book not because I like her or anything. I mean, I did but I definitely like Elliot more. I just loved that Katrina's appearances only enforced just how perfect Elliot and Paige were for each other. At some point Elliot thought, "It makes me realise how underdeveloped our relationship actually was. We never went beyond meeting friends." EXACTLY. I'm surprised you only realized it now! *rolls eyes* And if a Katrina-Elliot fan would read this, I think it'll also give them closure. I think. I hope so? Elliot and Paige for life!!!
*clears throat* OKAY Moving on..........
I'm rating this a 5.5 over 5 stars. I don't normally give half stars, neither do I give more than 5 stars. But I just had to do it here. The half star is for Lilli... for hearing us (Elliot's fans) out, giving Elliot a chance and telling his story. This is truly a beautiful story and I don't know how I'm going to recover from this. ;)
***I received an Advance Reading e-Copy of this book for review*** This book is based solely on my opinion.
The more I read A Beautiful Forever, the more I realized how much I loved it more than A Beautiful Struggle, so book 2 is def my favorite.
A Beautiful Forever was able to catch many things. It was able to show how a heartbroken and confused man was able to find himself again. It showed how a haunted and broken girl redeemed herself. It showed how fighting for what you want always pays off at the end. It showed that struggling with your own emotions is just a part of life and that you must learn to trust those who are willing to be there for you. Overall, this book was very sweet, powerful, sad and beautiful. It was full of love.
"Paige - this is your one and only chance to back out. Once we move things forward, I'm not willing to back off. It's all or nothing Paige. I can't just be your friend anymore."
"Understand me when I saiy this Paige - I'd do anything for you."
A Beautiful Forever was the continuation of A Beautiful Stuggle, but this time, it tackled Eliott's story after he finally stood up to his dad. In Beautiful #2, Eliott is finally doing what he loves: he became a personal trainer. After not seeing Katrina for 2 years, he realizes that he has made a huge mistake by not standing up to his father earlier and believes that he had ruined the best relationship he ever had. Eliott was confused so he decided to get a 3-month visa to work in the UK to try to find himselfm again. In the plane, he meets Paige, a very sad and reserved girl that immediately catches his eye. Eliott is tired of using his charm and looks to get girls to sleep with him so he is attracted to paige for her beauty and for the way she didn't giggle and didn't throw herself at him at first glance. Believing he would not see her again, he happens to pass by the hair salon where Paige got a job. Paige and Eliott decide to become friends and Paige eventually moves into the apartment where Eliott lives with other fellow Australians. However, the more they spend time together, the more Eliott is drawn to her, but Paige seems to not want to get close to him and swears off any idea of starting a relationship even though she is also starting to catch feelings for him. Paige believes that she doesn't deserve true love because of her past and has sworn off men since being separated from her family at age 15. After a few weeks of being friends, Eliott and Paige cannot ignore their feelings anymore so they decide to start a relationship and take things slow to see where things go. With Eliott having to go back to Australia in 6 weeks and Paige wanting to stay in the UK for good to deal with some family issues, they both must face the truth and put their feelings on the table. But with Paige not wanting to tell Eliott about her past and believing that he will not want her after he finds out, Paige does not fully open up and Eliott has to decide if he is willing to fight for the girl this time.
"Paige - you are my life, can't you understand that? I don't want to go back without you."
I am in LOVE with Eliott. I have to admit that in A Beautiful Struggle, I was annoyed with him. He was under his dad's control and was not acting like a man and that really turned me off from him. But in A Beautiful Forever, Eliott is the definition of a handsome, patient and understanding man. He FINALLY stood up to his dad and took his life into his own hands. Even though he didn't know what to do with himself anymore, he took the intiative to find himself..."I don't know what I'm hoping. I just know I need a change, I'm sick of just... existing..." He really redeemed himself in this book and I was so proud of him for fighting for Paige and not giving up easily like he did with Katrina. Like he said, if he hadn't fxcked up with Katrina, he wouldn't have stood up to his dad, went to UK and met Paige. So in the end, it was all worth it and he ended up finding the right girl for him.
Paige was an awesome girl! Having gone through what she did, I fully understand her actions. She went through hell and back after "leaving" her parent's house and didn't have a support system, friends or the concept of trust. She had taken care of herself for so long that she had a hard time opening up to people, so following her through her journey of making friends, finding love and facing her past was very healing. I'm proud of her as well and was really happy for her. I did however get a tiny bit annoyed with her when she kept pushing Eliott away. He cared for her and showed her continuous support, she should have realized a bit sooner that he would have done anything for her.
In the end, A Beautiful Forever was perfect hence why I gave it 5 stars. The book was written perfectly! Nothing was exaggerated, no scenes were too much and the continuity of the storyline was steady and the timing was just right for everything. I truly enjoyed reading it and was not surprised by the amazing reviews that it got. I hope that my review does this book justice and if you haven't read the Beautiful series yet, you def should!!!
I vow that I will spend every moment of the rest of my life loving her. Seeing her happy means everything to me, because when she smiles, when she genuinely smiles, I feel like the luckiest man on earth.
When I read A Beautiful Struggle, I didn't know which side I was on. Team David or Team Elliot? And after a lot of thinking, guess what... Team Elliot it is! That's why when I found out that there's going to be a novel based on Elliot's POV, I was super excited to read it, and curious as well. ;-)
Paige... the new character in Elliot's life. I love the way Elliot described Paige:
"She’s a stunner, with masses of curly dark-brown hair, olive skin, a full pouty mouth and amazing eyes – they kind of look like a piece of amber. They're hazel in the middle, flecked brown with a thick dark edge before her whites come into play."
And the way Paige described Elliot:
He has broad firm shoulders that span further than the width of the seat. His hair is light golden brown and a little longer than I like on guy, but it kind of suits him. He’s wearing a good day or two worth of stubble - which I’ll admit is a bit on the sexy side. But it’s his eyes that are most striking. They look like someone took the clearest, bluest part of the ocean and dropped it into his irises.
But I bet deep inside, Paige was thinking:
(Oh, and also, one of the things I love about the author, is that she describes her characters bit by bit, not revealing everything all at the same time, which keeps me really wanting more!)
Paige. A strong independent woman. I don't know how she got through the incident that happened to her in the past, but I really admire Paige's strength and determination.
Elliot. I saw the maturity and the growth in him, and I loved him even more for that! In the first part of the book, it was clear that he was still having a hard time getting over Katrina and he was such a jerk to many girls after her because all he did was pick them up at some club and then, sleep with them and then, leave them. It was like a routine for him that he chose to give up because he wanted to move on and find a girl who will love him and maybe, heal him.
And oh, the ALTERNATING POV was heaven for me!! Imagine that, knowing what Elliot thought and also knowing what was going on in Paige's head? Wow that is freaking awesome. Ha! Lilliana Anderson got me right there. What I liked about it was that you can really dig deep in both of the characters, and you can see their points in every situation in the story.
I love the similarities of Paige and Elliot. They are both broken. And in some weird way, they still seem to fit just right together. Yes, Paige is a really tough girl and I kind of disliked her in the beginning because of her indecisiveness, it was like she was pushing and then pulling back, but Elliot also had his moments in this book! He did not let Paige control whatever what was happening to them and just act like they don't care about each other. I love Elliot's tenacity in this story because in the first book, his relationship with Katrina was built up so fast, but in A Beautiful Forever, I think he didn't expect to be turned down several times. Haha! Poor Elliot. But I also like his playfulness, flirtations and frankness in this book. One time, he told Paige: “You have made yourself loud and clear Paige, and just for the record, just because a guy is being nice to you, doesn’t always mean his trying to get inside your pants.” Suck that, Paige. Haha!
I am really glad that I got to know Paige a little better, because if I didn't hear her reasons, I might give this book a rating of only 3.5 or 4 stars, but thanks to the alternating POV, I understood why she acted all weird or selfish sometimes. Though in the latter part of the book, I just didn't like what she hid from Elliot, but I was glad that they got to fix that problem right away.
The passion and love that they have for each other was very palpable. This story made me laugh, tear up a little, laugh again, broke my heart in some parts, but made me smile and happily sigh in the end. :)
I read this book in less than a day, yea, it was hard to put down for me, maybe because I missed Elliot... ;)Ha! No, but aside from that, you will really look forward to what will happen next to these two lovebirds that I really adore right now.
But when I read the last page I was like, please don't let this end. I want more. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH... WHY MUST THIS STORY END! :(
Okay that was just to make you laugh. Haha I just love the gif. Tee hee.
But, kidding aside, good job, Lil! :) You did a great job in giving Elliot the ending that he deserves.
Quotes that I LOVE:
“It’s the curse of the good-looking guy. You're all jerks.” - Paige
"I’m not sure how I feel about this man being protective of me. I’ve been on my own and fought for myself for so long now. The thought of someone else willing to do it for me… well… it feels kind of… nice." - Paige
“There’s nothing you could tell me that would make me stop caring about you Paige.” - Elliot
"..no one else makes me feel this way. No one else gives me hope." - Paige
"I know without a doubt that if I can’t get Paige to come home with me, then I will move heaven and earth to get back to her." - Elliot
*I received an ebook from the author in exchange for an honest review. This, however, did not influence my review in any way.*
i loved this book. it didn't annoy me like the first book in this series -although i did still like the first book- and i really like Elliot now.
thought Elliot and Paige were a really cute couple. the pregnancy plot was quite obvious. im surprised no one noticed that she was pregnant until 5 months later when she went to the hospital to check she was fine.
grace was the cutest baby ever. i feel in love with her so fast. i don't really know what to think about Paige's mum. she wasn't in the book that much for me to judge her apart from what she did to Paige 15 years ago and if i judge her on that then i will hate her. but i understand why even though she reacted in the wrong way.
i can't wait for Naomi's story. she seems like a very sweet girl. when i first read about her in this book, i wasn't so sure i was going to like her, simply because she acted like a... (i don't no the right word for it), but she was too clingy and would leave Elliot alone, also at first she didn't really like Paige because Elliot liked Paige and not her. normally those kind of girls don't get a book written about them, so i was a bit worried. but then she turned out to be a nice character and i would love to read about her life.
at first i didn't really want to read this book. when i first found out that there was a second book about Elliot, i wasn't interested because i couldn't stand Elliot. even though in the end of book one he finally left his dad, and Katrina was happy with David, i still hated him because he in the end he still choose money over a girl that he supposedly 'loved'. but then i thought about for a few days and just thought 'why not?'. i can't hate him anymore than i already do. so i eventually read it and Elliot totally redeemed himself.
at one point in this book i thought Katrina was a total b*tch. i know she didn't mean to be but i couldn't stop myself from feeling that. she knew that Elliot didn't want her to see the picture of Paige's tattoo, so why she brought it up in front of him and Paige i have no idea. but i still can't believe Katrina and David are still not married. you would think after 5 years of being engaged, they would have married. Elliot and Paige meet about 3-4 years after Katrina and Elliot got engaged and have a child and are married all in the space of 16months, and Katrina is only still engaged. that's kind of weird.
i think i have a problem with step-parents in books. i hate when in a book they find out they have another family or their mum or dad get find someone else during the duration of the book. i don't know why. anytime they mention step parents in books i just instantly don't like them. by the end of the book i did kind of like Erica. she wasn't rude to anyone at the start and i would have probably liked her better if she wasn't Elliot's step mum or if she was in Elliot's like before. like Steve i like him more because he was in Elliot's life before the book started.
Paige's parents could have been in the book a bit more. i felt like they were really important characters so they should have said more. especially Paige's real dad.he only said about 2 lines through out the whole book.
i thought that Paige was so cruel the way she led on Elliot then left him. but i think she learned her lesson so she is forgiven. but she still should have sat down with Elliot and discussed her secrets with him instead of writing a letter and running away. i felt really sorry for her about Phoenix and all that happened to her when she got kicked out of her house. but i really don't understand how Phoenix died.
overall, i did really like this book. i didn't find anything in this book annoying. i loved 'nearly' all the characters. and am glad that it worked out for Elliot and Paige and they're living happily ever after.
Okay, there was nothing about this book that I liked. So that I do not say something mean, I will try to keep my review short. I go through so many books though, I need reviews to remind me of what I felt about the book, so here goes nothing...
This book felt like exactly what it was...an afterthought. Elliot was dull. Paige was over dramatic. Their story dragged and dragged. I live a story that goes beyond the typical will you marry me segment but this one I just kept asking "when is it going to end?" I refused to stop reading the book, but the story line with her mother was AWFUL, the scene in the end with Katrina was just wrong. I don't understand why the couples couldn't finally be happy for each other since he was happy, Katrina was happy, Paige was happy, David was happy, so why make that last scene dramatic?? And really, having them move into the flat where he and Katrina had spent their relationship? The author couldn't come up with any better ideas?!? I know I did!! I probably skipped or skimmed at least a quarter of the book because I just didn't care anymore or because the info was dragging too much. I even skipped most all if the "romance" scenes because truth was, I just didn't care. I'd say the writing was good in the story, but when I was so bored, could I really say that and anyone believe me? Even I doubt my statement there. Oh and the altering POVs in this book gave me whiplash!! I can stand hearing his and her POV within the same chapter, or every other chapter, but this one was two paragraphs her, three him, a page her, five paragraphs him, five sentences her, three pages him and the chapter ended and it all started again. Just more that pointed to the afterthought mentality the author even admits to having about this story.
So sad for what could have been great. I put off reading this one for awhile because I did like the first book, and I really liked Elliot. I was of the group that supported Katrina and Elliot ending up together in book 1, but I decided to give this one a chance. I truly think this book will be one of those that in two days I won't remember a dang thing about it unless I come back and reread this review. That's not good writing if your readers can't remember your stories. I know I said I wanted to keep this short, but I don't think I crossed any lines into mean. Was I honest? Of course? Do I expect readers not to read this book based solely on my review, absolutely not. Everyone has their own brain and they can use it. If you want to read this book, or you already have and you loved it then I'm happy for you. I just didn't love, or even like, it and I think that readers need to have an honest depiction of the rating, not an inflated one closer to 5 stars because those that didn't like it were afraid to step on the author's toes or voice their disapproval.
***3.5 stars*** I was lucky enough to receive an ARC from the author for an honest review of her book! I was very excited to start this book and continue reading Elliot's story. I really loved him in A Beautiful Struggle. A Beautiful Forever begins with the last chapter from ABS. Elliot has left his job as a solicitor and his Dad's money and influence to be a personal trainer. He's moving to London for 3 months to find himself, and he meets Paige on the plane ride there, who is broken and looking to find herself as well and not get involved with any guys. The story continues with them becoming roommates in London in a flat with other Aussies, and forging a friendship even though Elliot wants more. Paige finally does let Elliot in and they end up having an amazing few weeks together but not talking about what they will do when Elliot has to leave. Paige never really tells Elliot her deep secrets but does reveal her family situation. I don't want to say too much more and ruin the rest of the story, you will have to read it to see how it all ends up.
I know Elliot is trying to be a different person than he was in the first book, but I liked his character from A Beautiful Struggle better. Even with how he treated Katrina. He had more of a mysterious bad boy edge to him and was a bit more passionate about Katrina than I get he is towards Paige, at least through the first half of the book. I also thought Elliot and Katrina's sex scenes were hotter. He's kind of too perfect in the second book. He's this understanding and sweet patient guy just waiting on Paige to accept a relationship with him. Which makes him a little boring. He doesn't really seem to be working on himself since he's only been consumed with being there for Paige and making her happy. With only 4 weeks to go before he has to go back to Australia nothing's changed for him since the day he arrived in London, other than he's in love with Paige. So that was kind of annoying. I never felt a huge connection with the characters and their love.
I thought the book could have moved a little quicker or been shorter. Normally I like long books and I don't want them to end, but the first half of this book seemed to drag on and get a little boring with no drama or angst. The book was well written, with only a few grammar errors and the story flowed well. I also liked that the book switches between Elliot's POV and Paige's. It's nice to read what's going on in the hero's head versus only the heroine's. I thought the sex scenes were tasteful and hot! Overall it was a solid book but I liked A Beautiful Struggle better. I would recommend it to others.
I am reviewing an early reader copy that the author gave me in exchange for an honest review after I contacted her previously about reading A Beautiful Struggle.
This is the sequel to that and I have to say I liked it even better than the first. For me A Beautiful Struggle was worth 5 stars, so if I could, I would give A Beautiful Forever 6 stars. I really did love it that much!
I think that if you wanted to read this book on its own you could do so because besides the prologue, there isn't a lot that connects it to the first story. And rightly so, this is Elliot's story, not Elliot featuring Katrina and David's story. While they do make a couple of appearances in the book, I'm glad they weren't very present as it would make no sense to have them there. Everyone is supposed to be moving on in their life.
Having said all of that, let's get down to the nitty gritty of the story.
Elliot and Paige meet on the plane trip from Sydney to London, they're brought together via the noises emanating from another passenger, forcing them to ask for a new seat. This puts them right next to each other and gets them talking.
This is where I was really happy for the dual point of view, Elliot made it clear that he was attracted to Paige from the get go, but Paige was very closed off towards him, refusing to take his hand to steady herself when offered. If we hadn't been able to see things from Paige's perspective, you would never know that she was attracted too.
Paige has had a really tough life and has sworn herself of men for good. She doesn't think she deserves happiness and thinks that Elliot should stay away from her.
Finally he breaks through her walls and we are treated to a very HOT relationship. Paige still tries to push him away as she fights with herself internally over whether or not she should reveal all of her secrets to him and take the chance that he will still love her when he truly knows her.
When it's time for Elliot to go home there is a big choice to be made.
I will stop there, you'll need to read it to find out what Paige's secret is and whether Elliot actually manages to fight for her this time. But I will tell you that this is a very satisfying read and a wonderful conclusion to this series.
This book takes place right after the first in the series A Beautiful Struggle. Elliot is a personal trainer. Elliot is going to London on a three month work visa. He sees a pretty girl, Paige on the plane. Paige is tough, self-assured and independent. Elliot is very courteous and mannerly. Paige tells Elliot that she isn't interested in getting involved. Paige is very emotionally closed off. She doesn't want to share herself with anyone and she hates talking about herself. Paige is afraid of her past and won't allow herself to get close to anyone. This is such a well written erotic romance. I really liked the first book, but I think Lilliana has outdone herself. This book is amazing. I love the characters so much. “I think I have I loved you since before I even met you.” “I need her like I need air to breathe, and I’ll be damned if I ever let her go again.” This book started out a little slower than the first one but then it takes off with a bang and I couldn't stop reading it. With a hundred pages to go, I was a nervous mess, chewing my finger nails, sitting on the edge of my seat. Must keep reading and know what happens! I was so tempted to skip ahead. I resisted, but then when I was reaching the end, with four chapters to go, I didn't want to continue reading because I didn't want it to end. Why must you torture me so, Lilliana?! I had such a tumult of emotions reading this book. I oohed and ahhed. I cooed. I swooned. I got tears in my eyes and I laughed out loud. A truly amazing book!
I had such high hopes for this book after I read the prologue. this book was fine...didn't knock my socks off my any means. I don't know if it's because I went right into this one after reading the first book or what. I liked Elliott and Paige in this book. maybe if we ha found out Paige' s background earlier it would have been better. just thought some parts drug along. I would save the last 1/4 of the book were good that I had a hard time putting it down.
Elliott goes to London to find himself and meets Paige on the airplane there. she is running away from her terrible childhood to meet her dad that she has never seen before. she doesn't open to Elliott right away. they end up living in the same flat as other people. the book spends a great deal of time with Elliott trying to make Paige believe that she is worth being loved by someone. she was kicked out of her house at 15 and turned to the streets to get by.
she finally realizes that they are good for each other and then Elliott's work visa runs out and he has to go back to Australia. slot happens while they are apart. when he gets back he realizes that Paige has kept something from him. by of course he forgives her.
I received this book from the author for an honest review...
This book is Elliot's story after he messed things up with Katrina.
Elliot is so lost in life and can not get over the fact he messed everything up and did not stand up to his father for Katrina. So he goes to London for 3 months to try and find himself again. And that is exactly what he does, he meets the most amazing girl ever Paige. He has tried everything to get her to talk but she does not seem interested at all. When they finally land he can not bring himself to ask her if he can see her again. Then out of no where a couple of days later there she is working at a hair salon. So he cant help but decide to get his hair cut, and that is where the story begins... Paige has so many things in her past that effect her greatly she can not let anyone in she just can not trust herself. Elliot tries everything to win this girl over he can not go by without thinking about her, he only has 3 months thats it. Paige is in London to stay, she tries her hardest to let Elliot know this could never work out. So does Elliot win his girl? Does Paige finally let him in?
The story of Elliott Roberts and finding himself. This is the sequel from beautiful struggle but you don't have to read the first one to understand him but it does give you more of an insightful meaning to him and the struggle that he has with himself.
Paige is a young woman that he meets on the plane to the UK and from their you feel an instant attraction but then again who wouldn't give the time of day to Elliott. I was glad that he still kept a humble side to him knowing how attractive he is everyone. Being a fat kid growing up, it shows you how people treat others when they think of you a certain way.
I was happy for Elliott that he found himself and let the past be the past and finally figure out that his happiness lies with Paige regardless of what she had to endure being kicked out of her house at the young age of 15. I think she forgave her mother too easy but Paige is a strong woman and she might have forgave her mother but she will never forget. She will be a better person and mother because of it too.
This is a true romance novel with no love triangle but a book about two people figuring out who they are and is important to them.
COVER DESIGN: I love the picture; very romantic and passionate. The only downside to it is that the author’s name is hard to see. A lot of people would say that the title is what matters, but I personally like to see the name of the brilliant person who wrote the masterpiece in my hands.
WHAT I LIKED: If there is one thing that popped out at me when I first started reading this book, it’s that the author was able to effortlessly convey that feeling you get when you see an old flame… I have personal experience and could feel Elliot’s pain and fear. It was a REAL story that could actually easily happen to an individual and I enjoyed reading something like that for a change.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE: A lot of dialogue, but not a lot of description. When it went back and forth between Elliot’s thoughts and Paige’s thoughts, I started to get a little annoyed at the break up of it. Usually, this doesn’t bother me, but with this book it just gave it a rushed feeling somehow. That being said, it was still a good story.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: I’m totally in love with Elliot and his awkward shyness. He’s my kind of man!
