Rory's Assignment . . .
Dr. Rory Holden was tasked by the Alpha Colter in New York to find Turk, their missing pack member, so she was sent to Evergreen Medical Clinic in Minnesota to blend in by working on staff. Turk had come from here, so this was where she would start investigating. She wasn’t sure why she was sent since it should have been the Beta’s job and not hers. A bear shifter, Elaine, helped her find the things she needed in the under-stocked room. They had lunch and Elaine said Rory should meet the Alpha Bishop as soon as possible to avoid trouble.
Bishop and Rory meet when Elaine takes her to a bar as she is showing her around. Bishop walks toward them, projecting power and magic and authority. She saw his wolf’s eyes and something sparked between them, but she squashed it. He kept asking Elaine about her until she got angry and told him he had bad manners! Bishop doesn’t trust easily, suspicious of her unannounced arrival. And her snarky remarks to him were not helping much. But he had made her angry and she would rather fight than conform. As her investigation continues, things get complicated. She suspects Bishop knows something about Turk. And he is sending his Beta Remus to find out why she left Colter’s pack to come to their territory. He felt her power and she didn’t back down to his challenge. Is she spying on his pack? Is she putting herself in danger? Will this clash spark a serious rift between the two packs?

I loved Rory in the first book and I am so pleased that she gets her own story here. Being feisty, badass and also incredibly good at her job there is only one person to send to find out more about their missing pack member, Turk. She arrives knowing that she will not be welcome but is thrown totally off kilter by Bishop. If you had an example of who is not meant to be IT for her, then it would be him except for his magic just twines itself all up and round her and her wolf. Bishop is not going to be like his father. He is fighting so hard to not be that he sometimes doesn't realise that he is not actually being himself either. With Rory he is also determined that he is not going to be falling for anyone again. Rory just ignites something in him that he cannot deny. She is strong and won't back down when she believes she is right. She challenges him at every turn but what is her play here? Theirs was not an easy bond sometimes the ones you have to fight the hardest for are the ones most worth having. Eternity in a look.
This book has it all! Action, secrets, romance, plots twists, amazing world-building and fantastic characters. Everything to keep you coming back for the next one like I will be.

Wild Wolf by Lola Gabriel is a fantasy/contemporary shifter romance and the second in a series. This can be stand-alone, in my opinion, but I did not read the first, so it might add more, but I felt fine with the context I experienced alone.
This has tropes and themes of enemies to lovers, grumpy ML, hidden trauma, healer, dark magic, Angels/Demons/Vampires, and Fated/ish mate.
The FML is sent from another pack to learn about the missing member of her pack and, in this move, becomes a medical professional in their clinic in this other pack's area. She gives BA vibes but also is clearly nurturing when we meet her. That said, from the summary, I was so confused when I was like, wait, what? Are we in a clinic? For some reason, I thought it was going to be in the woods. The FML originally stumbles into the ML. It was a nice switch-up. ML has a reputation for isn't very kind, and on first interactions, he seems kinda full of himself. He did grow on me, but I'd still consider him greyish.
The plot and world-building felt good, esp. considering this is book two! Def. a good book to pick up this summer.

WILD WOLF by Lola Gabriel is the second installment in her Shifters and Forbidden Fates series. Ms. Gabriel always captures you within the first few pages and then keeps you hooked to the end.
Rory has been sent to Minneapolis to find a missing pack member. Warned to stay low and avoid the Alpha, that turns out to be impossible. When the two meet it's a tense mental power struggle and the more they are thrown together the hotter it gets between them. Throw in Dark Magic and it gets toxic. All the secrets, magic, danger, and scalding steam keep trying to pull them apart. It doesnt help that Colter, Rory's alpha, is sure Bishop is in league with the Dark Magic users and is planning to take over Colters pack. This would mean war between the Shifter packs.
You'll quickly become engaged in this well written story that flows smoothly from the start to the end.

Rory was sent by her alpha to find Turk who had just joined their pack in New York because the pack hadn’t seen or heard from him, so Colter got her a job at the clinic and a home. But no one seemed to have seen him there either, Bishop the alpha was making it hard for her to ask questions to try to find Turk. Bishop’s fae told him to stop trying to send her home she was key. Turk wanted Rory as his mate and his father would take care of Bishop so he took her to the in between world as he was half demon, but with help Bishop got her back. Her alpha and his men came to kill all of Bishop’s people because she was reported dead. They worked together winning over the demon army. Bishop and Rory made a great life. Good book!.

I loved 🥰 this fantastic, beautifully crafted story of finding love 💕, new friends, dangerous enemies, demonic attacks, betrayal and new beginnings. Dr. Rory Holden is given a mission by her alpha Colter to find a young shifter Turk who joined their pack and has disappeared. Rory goes to Minneapolis, Minnesota to work at the Evergreen Medical Clinic while she looks for Turk , whose family lives there, he was part of the local pack before coming to New York. Rory finds a new friend Elaine a bear shifter that works at the clinic and Bishop the alpha of the pack who doesn’t trust Rory. Very exciting, hot and spellbinding book , wonderful happy ending. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🔥.

Awesome read. Rory goes to Minneapolis to find a missing pack mate, Turk. Bishop, the Alpha, has a bad reputation so she figured she would check in. He is not what she expected. A enemy to lover forbidden romance. The journey in finding love, expect the unexpected. This was an amazing read. Lola is a great author that I highly recommend. This is a great series so far, I can't wait to read and see how this series plays out.

Rory and Bishop are from rival packs. She is searching for a missing pack mate by working in their turf as the doctor she is. There is just something pulling them together. The characters are well developed, determined and have great backstories. The storyline has drama, danger, good vs demon war, fae, wolves, bear, kidnapping, rescues, hidden agendas, steam, twists, revelations, packs joining forces and much more. Loved their chemistry and support. Terrific ending.

I absolutely loved this book. I loved how Rory didn’t let anyone push her around and did what she felt was right. Bishop wanted everything to go his way, it took a while for him to see it all as it really was. I loved how no one gave up and worked together to defeat a common foe. I couldn’t stop reading once I picked it up.

While searching for a missing pack member Rory ends up running across Bishop the alpha from a rival pack and things take some interesting turns. This enemies to lovers romance is filled with unexpected twists, pack drama, danger, suspense, action, secrets, dark magic, and steam. Wild Wolf is book two in the Shifters and Forbidden Fates series and I look forward to reading the rest of this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Lola blended the first story into this second edition of the series very well. From detailing the characters and their lives to linking it to the original story line. This could be read alone but why bother? It's a great storyline and well written to the world of wolves and their lives.

Great Story!!
I just loved reading this one. I absolutely loved the characters and storyline so much. Bishop and Rory were excellent together. I loved their chemistry and was happy he accepted that he could love again. On to the next one in this series. Such enjoyable stories. This is a fun read. Rory is a hoot, and her interactions with Bishop can be highly amusing especially when they both refuse to back down or compromise. Good chemistry, great characters and a little suspense thrown in for good measure. Good read.

Great 2nd Book to this series
This story has everything in it. Fated mates, various kinds of shifters, fae, demons and half demons. There is black magic the can kill. Two different alphas from different packs. So much going on that you just want to keep on reading.

Who would have suspected that the very thing Bishop hated was closer than he could imagine. The black magic was rampant in his pack. If not for Rory coming along, things might have been worse. I knew they couldn't resist each other for long.

It is a good story
Good characters and a good story line. It could use better editing. In one scene she ask for a beer a few sentences later she drank her wine -I found a few of these simple mistakes. I enjoy shifter books but don't enjoy them with underworld creatures.

I enjoyed the storyline. Rory is sent to investigate for her Alpha in another Alpha's territory. He is tortured by his past, so he keeps Rory at arm length and is suspicious of her. Can they overcome the past and possible betrayal to have a HEA?
