OK, I love animals so just the fact that this book was written for the purpose of donating its proceeds to a no-kill animal shelter in Dallas would be a big enough draw, but I was already familiar with the work of three of its poets so that meant I knew the poetry would be exceptional. I have been a fan of Ben, Amber and Robert's work for some time now. I hadn't read any of Scott's work, but he can now count me as a fan. A few of the poems I like are We Were, The Dreams, A Fragrant Night, It Could Have Been, Shifted, Grandpa and Never Forget. Frankly I feel a little sheepish in just mentioning a few poems because each one was a delight to read. Go out and buy this to feed your literary hunger and feel good about contributing to a cause that so desperately needs your help!

I love all the authors writings in this, and I am a bit bias because I worked on the project. I want to state, however, the ones that moved me to tears the most are from Scott Morgan (they all are fantastic!) Scott is not a poet by practice, but he is by his heart.

Each poet has a very distinctive style and they flow so different. Each has put passion into this powerful collection, which is for a worthy cause (which is why I am helping work with them) I hope everyone gets a chance to pick up a copy and enjoy poetry written, collected and shared in this one work in order to support the #NoKill shelter of Dallas TX, Dog and Kitty City.

This is a beautiful collection of poetry from four brilliant authors. They celebrate the love of animals, as we all should.

My favorites are One True Cat, The Coming Rains, Little Cat and
Lost Silence

This book would be worth purchasing just because it's for a great cause. Proceeds from this poetry collection will go to an animal shelter, The Humane Society of Dallas County's No-Kill Shelter, Dog & Kitty City. When you buy this book, however, you're in for a real treat. Four talented poets have contributed poetry to this collection, and also their own personal note about why they wanted to take part in this project.
I had already read some works by Ben Ditmars and Amber Jerome~Norrgard. I always enjoy their poetry so was looking forward to this collection. Both of them have contributed some fabulous poems to this anthology. My favourites from them include 'Days' and 'It Could Have Been' by Jerome~Norrgard, and 'Grandpa' and 'Never Regret' by Ditmars. I enjoyed the other poets' contibutions too, especially Robert Zimmermann's section of the book which I think is wonderful. I don't think I could pick a favourite from Zimmermann because they're all equally thought-provoking.
My favourite from Scott Morgan would have to be,'One True Cat', definitely a poem by someone who knows cats well.
I don't often choose to read poetry, but I'm glad I picked up this book. There's something for everyone in this selection of poetry.
There is information at the end of the book about the shelter and also more about The Quillective Project that put together this anthology.

Well, if you've skipped past most of the description then you wouldn't know that a hundred percent of the proceeds go to benefit Dog & Kitty City--a no-kill animal shelter. That's a wonderful thing altogether. If you've seen that, but still really want to know if this book is worth buying: the answer is yes. Why? The writing in this collection is phenomenal! There are four powerfully distinctive voices and writing styles captured here. They each have a unique outlook on life and beautifully crafted stories to tell. The variety in the collection ensures that every reader will find something to their taste.

I can hear one question already. "What if I don't really read poetry?"

Then this is a great place to start. If you have pets, this book will make you remember all the little things you love about them. If you don't have pets, you're probably going to feel a strong desire to run out and get one. However, the writing isn't entirely pet related. So if that's a concern it really shouldn't be.

Whether you take my word for it or not, this purchase will not be wasted. If you love the book (and I hope you do) then you'll be satisfied and have a great new book you can share with others. If you don't enjoy the book, at the very least you have the benefit of knowing that your money went to something that is going to make a difference in the world. You can have the wonderful feeling of knowing that you're a part of something bigger than yourself.

These four authors, three I've read before and Scott whom I haven't blew me away with their words. This collection was put together from their hearts and the love of animals. 100% of proceeds go to a no kill shelter. Some of my favorites were, Dreams, The Coming Rains, little cat and Grandpa. All these poems were written from the heart. Please help these awesome Authors and to help the animals. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unselfish use of your skills authors. I adopted my Gracie, she gives me joy and love every second of our day.

*As an author of this book, I don't add a rating*

Along with myself, 3 other great poets have gotten together on this anthology to raise money for a great cause. There's a variety of great pieces in here that I hope any poetry lover will check out.

With 100% of the profits from this book going toward a great cause, it's a win-win in my mind. The reader gets great poetry and a no-kill animal shelter gets a little help for the puppies and kitties in need.
