Paul doesn’t want to kill anyone. All he’s wanted through his teenage years is to have his first Outbreak, where he’ll leave his body to take the form of a tornado. In Mobley, Oklahoma, it’s a normal part of growing up. But just as his wish is granted, he learns that his ability can be used for an evil purpose–and that those in charge are watching him.
Holly Hook is the author of the Destroyers Series, which consists of five young adult books about teens who are walking disasters...literally. She is also the author of the Rita Morse series, a young adult fantasy series still in progress, and After These Messages, a short ya comedy. Currently she is writing Twisted, a spin-off of the Destroyers Series due out in December. When not writing, she enjoys reading books for teens, especially ya fantasy and paranormal series with a unique twist.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This series just keeps getting better and you are hooked from page one. Great action and story you can't help but get caught up in the book, the story and most of all the characters.
I also listened to this book on Audio on Holly Hook's YouTube channel. This is the third book in the Destroyers series. There was a lot of action in this book. We meet a new character named Paul, who is an outbreaker. This means he is able to leave his body during thunderstorms and turn into a tornado. This book has a lot of reoccurring characters and I love watching each of them grow as the series continues.
Contagiously Addictive. Nature’s wrath takes a viral turn, and suddenly the stakes feel even more personal. Janelle’s powers are evolving, the world’s unraveling, and I couldn’t stop flipping pages. The emotional fallout is real, the twists are sharp, and the pacing? Infectiously fast. Hook balances action and introspection like a pro, and this installment had me fully quarantined from reality until I finished
I received this book free for an open and honest review.
Janelle and Gary are back in this series book. Paul is an Outbreaker but he does not know what this means. He does not know that an Outbreaker is a tornado. His Dad has moved him over and over again to keep him away from his Uncle Tanner. Paul has no TV, Internet or radios. Paul and his Dad are moving to Mobley, OK finally. He will not have to move again!! On the way to Mobley though, Paul's Dad has an Outbreak and breaks a prisoner out of the prison. The prisoner turns out to be Janelle's Mom, Andrina. All the Tempest are kidnapped from Alara and taken to Mobley, OK, except for Janelle and Gary who managed to escape. Andrina's plan is to merge the Outbreakers with the Tempest to become Gods and Goddess. Lots of twists and turns as Holly can write them. Leaves you with a cliffhanger and wanting more!!!
I really loved this book!! I can't wait to move on to Frostbite!!
Outbreak is the third book in the destroyers series. I really enjoy how Ms. Hook continues her stories with favorite characters and adds in a few new one for us to love. Outbreak had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out how Janelle and Leslie were going to get out of this one. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
