Hiding Out
Samuel Davenport runs his family's New York based advertising agency. His brother, Adam, runs from responsibility and anything remotely boring. And his temp, Haley, runs so she'll never be caught and hurt again. She moved to the city New Year's Day to hide and recover, to build a new life far from her past. In an effort to lie low, Haley never expects to be more than a temp. What begins for Sam as an excuse to get to know her better, ends up being an opportunity for advancement and excitement for Haley. When Sam tries to uncover all of Haley's mysteries, he exposes her hiding place, endangers her life, and threatens to destroy any chance of them ever having a future together.

Ladies, forgive me but I have to ask...what's with all the five star reviews? Right, right, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. My mistake. So here's my opinion on “Hiding Out”...
…First off, I cannot believe I actually read this entire novel. Well, that's not entirely true. I started skimming thru half-way in just to end my misery.
Secondly, yes, this is a romantic story – but it’s a pathetic, sappy, sickly-sweet, mushy, gushy, mindless, corny, cheesy, romantic story. (I love my Thesaurus)
Sure the premise of the story was interesting; it’s just the execution of it that sucked for me. Haley and Sam, they both deserved each other. I’d need another set of hands just to count the number of times Haley cried. Good God! Enough with the tears! I really didn’t like anything about her character. And if you’re looking for an alpha-male, Sam is definitely not your man. Hell, he doesn’t even come close. I mean this story isn’t about a domineering male hero, but come on! He might as well be a chick he was that sappy. Nothing about him turned me on. Sure, what woman wouldn’t love a caring and sensitive man. I just didn’t find him to be a strong character. Come to think of it, his driver/butler, Neville, was more of a man.
What was absolutely ridiculous was how every time they would stay late to work, or go to a restaurant or play, at the end of the night Haley would fall asleep in the limo and instead of taking her home to her place, Sam would carry her up to his apartment, lay her down in the guest bedroom, sit in a chair with a blanket and watch over her each and every time. Yes, sounds chivalrous but by the tenth time it’s just asinine and creepy. For a rape victim who jumps at every little sound and touch, who has trust issues, and who can’t sleep thru an entire night without nightmares, hard to believe she’d never wake up once in his arms and didn’t scream bloody hell when she awoke in a strange room. She might as well leave a toothbrush there or perhaps move in with him. Oh right, she does. Why she does is beyond me. Considering how fragile Hayley is, why live with Sam in his apartment, in his bed (no sex), wake up before he does, goes to bed after he does, make him a breakfast but not once throughout the entire day say one word to him or acknowledge him. Sounds more like a married couple on the verge of a divorce. If you’ve got issues with him, here’s a thought - go back to your own place! And for a guy who runs a huge and successful advertising agency, Sam sure as hell can’t multi-task. You can’t be there for both your brother and the girl you’re in love with? This is why you hurt Haley’s feelings? You’re pathetic.
In the end, it was their hooey, gooey affection for each other that really killed it for me. Yes, yes, I get it – a work of fiction; but could we at least make it a little realistic?

have had the pleasure of reviewing Hiding Out by Nicole Andrews Moore. I can say a few things about Nicole. One she is awesome! And two her books are so good and so clean I rarely ever find a grammar issue or anything out of place. The flow and style of her writing grabs your attention from the first page to the last line of the book. That is exactly the way I felt with Hiding Out.
What do you do when the unthinkable happen to you and you are alone with no family and nobody you can trust? You Run, right? Run somewhere safe somewhere you think that people will not find you, and you keep running for fear of being hurt again, EVER!
Young and beautiful Hailey has taken up a temp position as a personal assistant to the enigma that is Samuel Davenport. Samuel and his brother Adam own a Marketing firm inherited from their father. Hailey is skittish and quiet, but very good and efficient at her job. She has been running from her dark secret since New Year’s Eve and will do anything to protect herself. She truly does try to hide herself wearing unflattering and baggy clothing. Sam sees that Hailey is jumpy and nervous in his presence he isn’t sure if it is him or something else. There is something about this girl that has him regretting his no dating policy when it comes to co-workers.
Sam starts out with innocent business dinners and having Hailey spend late nights working with him, going to charity balls all as an excuse to get her to trust him, to trust anyone. When Sam is alerted what her behavioral traits might mean he starts to dive into the past to uncover Hailey’s secrets. Sam quickly finds that sometimes stones should be left unturned. He inadvertently exposes her and brings danger to the girl that he has become smitten with. His guilt at putting her in danger makes him want to be close to her every minute to watch over her and make sure that no harm ever comes to her again.
I have to say I was endeared to Sam right from the start. Even though he seems a little smug in the beginning and all about the business we find out things about his past that have encouraged him to behave the way he does. I quickly became smitten with him after a few chapters. He has this way about him. He isn’t really dominant, but his desperate need to protect Hailey is really what makes him stand out for me. I adore a strong man that wants nothing but happiness and protection for his woman.
Poor Hailey is simply a mess. She has a hard time dealing with anything life throws at her after that fateful night. Not only does she have trust issues, she has self-esteem issues. What happened to her was traumatic and not finding a way to properly deal with that has put her in a place of denial. Other than working, she really is a recluse but it is completely understandable having been through what she has. Sam does his best to break her out of her shell but she doesn’t ever make it easy on the man.
I admit that I am a sucker for the Happily Ever After and feel that every negative needs a positive. Sam is the most positive thing in Hailey’s life even if she doesn’t want to believe or trust in it.
Nicole has a great story with Sam and Hailey and the natural progression of their relationship makes this book relatable to real life. You can see the things that the characters are going through happening in real life. The realistic approach to a relationship is refreshing!
I give Hiding Out 4.5 stars. I wanted just a little bit more in the ending but then I found out that
there is a 2nd book!!!! Squeee…. That made me happy! The 2nd book will cover some of the unresolved issues in this book and I am excited to see the journey continue…

Hiding Out is a phenomenal story! The main characters in this book are Samuel Davenport, a gorgeous man, with a perfectly sculpted body, who seems to be the grumpiest man in the world. He's the owner of a prestigious advertising agency, family owned, with his younger brother Adam. Adam is the kind of guy that runs from any kind of responsibility. Also, another main character in the story is Haley Daniels, who is a temp working for the company. Haley is a gorgeously understated beauty, who changes Samuel into butter, melting in her hands, and unrecognizable to his peers. Samuel notices that his new temp has the most beautiful emerald green eyes, beautiful legs, sexy shoes, yet she always wears clothes that are three times too big for her. The more Samuel is around Haley, the more he notices how she can be sweet and playful at times, and other times be a complete mess, turning jittery and unrecognizable. She can become skidish from abrupt noises, and she gets very nervous, and jumps out of her chair. It starts making him get unnerved. At the same time, there is something very innocent, and alluring about her, completely opposite of his ex-wife. He decides to use his investigator at the firm to gain knowledge of her everyday activities, and her past. He gets his inside man, Jake Ryan, and what he finds out confirms some earlier thoughts he was afraid might be spot on. Haley was raped, and he realizes that if he wants to get to know her, and help her, he needs to tread lightly. Haley has a very structured life, and very predictable. She is always in by dark, and has one friend, Ellen, that she has taken places with at the agency, while she takes leave to have her baby. Sam has a lot of walls to tear down to get to the heart of Haley, without scaring her into running away from him, before he gets her to fall in love with him, like he's fallen for her.

I detest not being able to finish a book because I almost feel like a failure. I feel like it’s my fault. I love books with a passion so not liking one does not sit well in my brain. But I have to be honest…I cannot help my feelings or opinions...they are what they are.
Haley Iverson is badly damaged, possibly beyond repair. She’s been through a horrific experience and in order to save herself and her sanity she fled, leaving behind everything she ever knew and loved. Samuel Davenport is more than what he seems. He’s a handsome, successful man and would like to be seen for more than just that. Haley takes a temp job working as Sam’s assistant and this is where the story begins.
Two things have to work for me in a story…believability and flow. Those were lacking for me in this story and it was the eventual reason why I gave up trying to read it. Haley has been through something no woman in the world wants to experience, let alone the way she experienced it. Sam on spec sounds like an ideal book boyfriend but there were a few things he said and did that made his character less realistic in my eyes. Things just didn’t add up with him in my brain and if I doubt the character, it’s not going to make me like them.
The flow through me off…the book is told from Haley and Sam’s POV’s and you switch back and forth in the same chapter. I’m okay with this as long as it is clear and concise and there is no confusion as to who’s POV we are dealing with…there were times when I wasn’t sure. The story felt rushed at times…he’s been working with her for three weeks but all of a sudden now he’s taken an interest in her. And there were a few things that were a little too convenient – like the fact that they had a psychologist and P.I. on hand that could help him figure Haley out.
There were a few other things that pushed my limits for rational thinking but they came to a head after we find out more about what happened with Haley. The way Sam was ‘handling’ Haley was believable but her reactions, to me, were not. That’s kind of the point when I lost any hope of a connecting with the book because it felt disingenuous to me. If her reactions to him had been slow and gradual and not as instantaneous, I could have gone for it.
I hate that I couldn’t finish it…and like I said I wanted to like the book….a lot. It’s a great story and has great potential, but there were too many key things missing for me that took away from me falling into the stories and characters the way I need to in order to love a book. :-(

Sam's temp personal assistant is different from other women. She is timid, jumpy and a bundle of mysteries to unravel.
When Sam tries to uncover all of Haley's mysteries, he exposes her hiding place, endangers her life, and threatens to destroy any chance of them ever having a future together.
Sam and Hayley's relationship is a slow build. She slowly begins to trust Sam and lets him into her past.
"What if I tell you everything and you can't stand the sight of me anymore? What if you are disgusted by my mere presence?"
He put a finger over her lips. "What if I marvel at your brilliance, your ability to survive adversity, your courage to rebuild your life. What if I fall in love with you and can't be a to ever let you go?"
Sam is the sweetest and very patient with Haley
He is the best thing in Hailey’s life even if she doesn’t want to believe it or trust it.
"Do you want to know whatI see when I look at you, Hayley?"
"I see the most amazing woman I've ever known." Her eyes begin to fill with tears. "I see a woman who has suffered through one of the worst experiences that can happen to a person. Yet, instead of curling up and dying, or shunning the world, she has the courage to face her fears and conquer them. She rejoins the world, she does whatever is necessary to not just survive, but thrive. And I marvel every day at you intellect, your heart, and that you even five me the time of day."
With Hayley's past coming back to haunt she must decide if running is taking her to her future or keeping her from it.
You can't play hide and seek with the past. It always find you. And you can't play sardines because soon you're squished and can't breathe and have no room for the future.
This was great. I'm looking forward to Adams story next.

Haley- When we first meet Haley she is very timid, shy, jumpy, and just plain scared. She’s a loner and has no family. Any abrupt noise sets her off and she shakes. Her fiancé’s best friend has raped her and beat her to a pulp on New Year’s Eve. In the aftermath she picked the most dangerous city in the world to run to. New York City. She hides her body with big clothes, has dyed her hair, and has basically hidden her heart from anyone who got too close. She doesn’t want to be found so she uses a fake name and only takes temp jobs even though she has a Master’s Degree. She thinks that this is the best way to live until she let her boss Sam into her life.
Samuel Davenport- He knows that there is something off about his temporary personal assistant Haley but he can’t figure it out on his own. Here was this man who was wealthy, in control, and appears to be cold and remote who obviously always got what he wanted. He has women practically throwing themselves at him but the sound of Haley’s voice on the phone makes him hot and bothered. He’s done with the typical gold digger, power hungry women that he has dated in the past and wants someone genuine in his life, someone who wants him for the real man that he is not the job that he does.
This book is a love story about two people who couldn’t be further apart in lifestyles. Haley is alone in the world, no family and a past full of horrible ordeals. She’s running away from her past and it isn’t until she has someone like Sam on her side that she realizes that she can finally face her fears! Sam is a rich business man who takes his job very seriously. He is done with the type of women that he normally dates that are superficial and only want him for his wealth and power. He doesn’t realize that when Haley shows up to work for his advertising firm that his whole world is going to topple upside down! Sam makes Haley feel safe and because she finally feels safe she opens her heart up to him. She also takes back the power that she lost and finally fights back! It is so empowering to see someone who you view as weak fight back! This book ended perfectly! Sam and Haley end up together regardless of all that the endured to get there and Haley finally has the family that she has always wanted

Hiding Out by Nicole Andrews Moore
I just recently read Hiding out for a blog tour I have signed up for, Nicole Andrew Moore writing is good, the story flowed well, and character description and plot are well written. This is a contemporary romance novel with a happy ever after ending. These types of stories are what I call my Sunday reading.
The story starts off with us meeting Hailey who is working for an advertising agency in a temp position that her friend secured for her. Hailey hides herself, dressing in baggy clothes, keeps her head down and really doesn’t want to be noticed. Running from a horrific incident Hailey does what she needs to do to feel safe.
Sam Davenport runs his family business, and notices Hailey, seeing that she is skittish he comes up with a plan to involve her in his life. This working relationship is not easy; Sam would love to get closer but doesn’t want to scare Hailey off. When Sam realizes there is something Hailey is hiding from, he asks his company’s investigator to look into Hailey past.
The more Hailey and Sam build their friendship the safer Hailey starts to feel safe. This relationship has a few bumps along the way but it is romantic at times. And Sam really tries to keep his alpha male personality on the back burner not wanting to scare or intimadate Hailey.

I just recently read Hiding out for a blog tour I have signed up for, Nicole Andrew Moore writing is good, the story flowed well, and character description and plot are well written. This is a contemporary romance novel with a happy ever after ending. These types of stories are what I call my Sunday reading.
The story starts off with us meeting Hailey who is working for an advertising agency in a temp position that her friend secured for her. Hailey hides herself, dressing in baggy clothes, keeps her head down and really doesn’t want to be noticed. Running from a horrific incident Hailey does what she needs to do to feel safe.
Sam Davenport runs his family business, and notices Hailey, seeing that she is skittish he comes up with a plan to involve her in his life. This working relationship is not easy; Sam would love to get closer but doesn’t want to scare Hailey off. When Sam realizes there is something Hailey is hiding from, he asks his company’s investigator to look into Hailey past.
The more Hailey and Sam build their friendship the safer Hailey starts to feel safe. This relationship has a few bumps along the way but it is romantic at times. And Sam really tries to keep his alpha male personality on the back burner not wanting to scare or intimadate Hailey.

Haley is a loner, sudden noises sets her off and makes her nervous. She tries not to draw any attention to herself from guys. She dresses down, dyes her, she doesn't want to be found, she is hiding out. Using a fake name she settles herself in New York City and takes a temp. job. She is way over qualified for this job but she thinks this is her best option to hide. out.
Sam runs the family advertising business and he realizes that his temporary assistant Haley has something going on but he can't put his finger on it. He is wealthy and practically the most eligible bachelor of NYC. He comes across to be in complete control, and seems cold and always gets his way. He takes his job serious, and Hailey is really good at her job. Sam is ready to make a change in his life, a different type of woman is what he is looking for now!
I loved the flow of this book and I fell head over hills for Sam! He was really swoon worthy! Ms. Moore does an outstanding job in her character development, they were believable and lovable. This book was a page turner. I glad to see a strong woman in a book, that is what I see Haley as, even being nervous, scared, and running, she was still a strong woman. She did what she needed to do in order to protect herself, that's strong in my book! I really want book 2 now!!

This story started out okay and believable, but as it went on it got a bit unbelievable for me.
Sam and Haley were a cute couple. I admired all of the special care he took in interacting with her and getting her to trust him.
Though I understood how Sam had to be careful with Haley because of her past, I find it hard to believe that she got better with just his care. The addition of her pitching an advertising gig for a new contract … simply on the merit of her helping out Sam before. Err, wouldn’t anyone complain about that? I mean a person, a temp mind you, with no discernable education about the entire process being put in charge of something like that? It just stretched reality for me until it snapped.
The addition of Chase as a character … yeah I get his background and the like but he turned out to be the proverbial spoiled son of a ruthless, corrupt lawyer-type person.
I liked about the first third of the book, lost some of my like in the second third and well I skimmed a lot through the last third. There are more than just the couple of issues I had with the book, but I didn’t take notes and just have a feeling of dislike in general for the last part. This book opened with a phone call that led me to believe that I had missed something! Because I was too lazy to head back to Amazon to see if I'd missed a previous book or something, I decided to just go ahead and read it. Boy am I glad I did.
Nicole, Haley's experience totally shattered me. I could feel her pain, both physical and emotional. I swear I jumped in my seat every time a door slammed or someone yelled. I am so thankful that Haley had Ellen to help her in the beginning. As for Sam, I think I have a little crush on him. The way he changed who he was and how he reacted around Haley warmed my heart.
This was definitely one of those "can't put it down" kind of books, and I can't wait to read Adam's story and find out what happens to Chase. One question though, can I borrow Neville? I need someone like him around here!

I really enjoyed this book. It took me on an emotional roller coaster, which I like when reading books. Without giving too much away, the content is intense and the author does a fantastic job addressing it. The ending was written very well and I am glad to see the story will be continued. The only reason I didn't give this book a 5-star review is because I wish it had been longer. At only 156 pages it was a really quick read. Other than that, the only other thing is the POV changes (which is fine... I ordinarily have no complaints about that) and sometimes it takes you a minute to realize you are reading another person's POV. Overall, would I recommend this book to someone? Absolutely! I am looking forward to reading the continuation of this book!

Even after reading it the characters stayed with me for several days. I am excitedly awaiting the return of Sam, Haley and Adam!

It just keeps getting better. If you enjoy HEA stand alone romance this is a great one. Add it to your TBR. Sam & Haley are perfect for each other but let me just say, I would love to get to know Adam just as much. I think this book is her best book yet. Coming Soon

I'm not really sure what I expected from Hiding Out other than the wonderful writing style of Nicole Andrews Moore, but I got so much more than I bargained for with this one. I had seen other authors who I love raving about the book, but I wanted to see for myself what the excitement was about. Heart-pounding angst with awant need for resolution for a few of the characters and a slow progression to romance are what I got in my reading of Hiding Out. I have fallen completely in love with the characters of Hiding Out ... well, not David and certainly not Chase because he's just creepy and stalkerish and so much more that would take the lady right out of me to describe him. I don't want to touch on Chase in the review, because I don't want to give anything away, but he is a vital part of the story and is the reason for my heaving stomach. But Sam and Andy will have a place in my heart for a long time to come. So what is Hiding Out about aside from the synopsis?
Haley Iverson has run from Pittsburgh to the big city of New York, where her college roommate lives. When Haley arrives at her friend Ellen's home in New York, Haley is unrecognizable. The scars on the outside are nothing compared to the scars on the inside for Haley. It takes Haley months after moving in with her friend before she can even go outside, and then she doesn't go out at night. She never confides in Ellen, and the only way Ellen can piece together what has happened to Haley is through Haley's screaming nightmares each night. What Haley has endured in her past is horrific, making her into a runner from her past and any future she may have. It's easy for Haley to run because she has lost all family and has no one in her life except her one friend, Ellen. Taking a temporary job as a personal assistant to Sam Davenport and only having enough personal items to pack in three duffel bags allow Haley the freedom to flee at a moment's notice and remain in hiding. But Haley grows to love New York and she finally feels safe and secure around Sam. Sam and Andy make her feel like a part of their family, and family is something Haley misses and longs for. My heart went out to Haley and all she's endured, but this timid little kitten grew to become a roaring lioness who learned to help herself and stop running, all thanks to Sam.

Sam wants to rethink his policy when Haley comes to work for him. When his feelings continue to develop for Haley, he wants to know more. He wants to know why she is so scared and fragile. With a private eye at his disposal, he quickly calls on his old friend and employee, Jake, to seek out the truth behind Haley's behavior. When he realizes his mistake, it's too late. The wheels have already been put in motion, and his mistake has a ripple effect that puts the lives of everyone he cares about at risk, including his brother, Adam. There were times when I just wanted to scream at Sam! He was so enamored and in love with Haley, but he didn't know how to express his feelings verbally. He kept letting his no-dating policy get in the way, while inventing task after task and excuse after excuse to keep Haley near him. He even managed to keep Haley with him at his home ... and in his bed, albeit innocently. Sam did all this to comfort Haley and to build a trust that he knew she desperately needed. Everyone around him saw his behavior with Haley and knew he loved her and that they were really dating. Sam and Haley just hadn't come to the conclusion, yet or they just refused to admit it. They were the most stubborn people and refused to admit any feelings they shared, but Sam's patience and care for Haley, along with his chivalry, drew me into his character and made me love him.
Andy is the happy go lucky brother of Sam who just wants to live off his trust fund and have a good time. If I had to pick a casting for Andy, it would be a younger Greg Kinear. I loved Andy, and as irresponsible as he is, he is actually the voice of reason when it comes to trying to help Sam sort his feelings for Haley. Adam is the playboy in the family, but when it comes to relationship advice, he is spot on. He advises Sam to stop using work to spend time with Haley and just be honest with her. Cheers for Andy! Sam is just too thick-headed and bull-headed to agree. That and he's afraid Haley will run again and he will lose her forever.
Hiding Out is beautifully written with enough sweet to give reprieve to the sour taste left in my mouth from Chase and his actions. There were times when my emotions ran extremely high and the angst level was far above what I wanted to feel. It was a wonderful, adrenaline filled rush. The rest of my emotions while reading this book are hard to describe, as I was kept in a guessing and waiting game .... waiting on Sam and Haley to acknowledge and admit their feelings to each other. Waiting on Sam to stop concocting a pretense to spend time with Haley and just be honest with her. That, too was wonderful. The only thing that kept this story from being a 5 star read from me was the pov. While I love third person omniscient pov because I get to experience all characters thoughts and feelings, I was lost a couple of times when the narration shifted from Sam to Chase and from Sam to Neville.
If you're wondering where the quotes are from the novel that I sometimes put into a review, I'll let you in on a secret. I didn't highlight that many things in Hiding Out because it took me away from the book too much, and I justdidn't want to couldn't stop my reading. I didn't really even stop my reading to make many notes; I was that engrossed in this novel. I did experience a few tears and a couple of WTH moments that put my angst in over-drive. Don't be fooled. The content in Hiding Out is very sensitive and raw. The fear I felt for Haley and the disgust I felt for what happened to her was very real. I can easily recommend this book and although it is complete with a HEA for Haley and Sam, I desperately wanted Andy to have his own story, and I wanted to see where things will go for Chase. I'm happy to say that the story will continue for Andy and I will find out more about Chase, the wealthy and politically affluent b****rd whom I would like to castrate. Ahem ... enough said.

I received an advanced copy from the author for an honest review. This is the first book I have ever read by Ms. Nichols and I will definitely be looking for more. I really liked this story of triumph. Haley suffered a brutal attack at the hands of someone close to her ex-fiance. She runs to anonymity and what should be safety in NYC, taking a job under Sam. Sam doesn't understand why Haley's jumpy and nervous around him all the time. But he takes the time to find out what is causing her angst and adjusts his behavior so that she feels more comfortable in his presence. She slowly begins to trust him and they discover a love they each never thought they would have. But there is still a serpent out there who wants to destroy Haley. And he won't let anything get in his way. Sam and Haley each have missteps that put their relationship on shaky ground. Haley demonstrates her newly-regained strength when she takes steps to face her attacker in court. But in the end, can she count on Sam to be in her corner?

I bought the boxed set and the title was "The Davenport Billionaires". The summary sounded good but the execution was not, there were too many inconsistencies. I expected an alpha male and only got an average man.
A family run advertising agency raking in billions cannot be run by a man working from 9 to 5, solicit orders and doing the sales pitch himself. That sounds like medium sized agency.
The CEO of a billion dollar company would have enough staff to advance some secretary to be his temporary PA and not rely on a temp.
The PI wasn't top notch either, why did they employ a psychlogist?

It takes a lot to hold on to something you believe to be precious and then to have someone you trusted to rip it away instantly against your will, is tragic and all consuming. It changes people. Haley has experienced this and has been Hiding Out in New York, where she met Sam. He has some attraction to her be she jumps everyime he is around. He sets out thinking he needs to know more about her but little does he know her past is just as dangerous now as it was before. They fight through everything together. In usual Emma Nichols style, there is an HEA in the end.

Wow, I really love this one! This book has everything: mystery, mayhem, drama, character, plot and an HEA. But mostly this book has reality. It's a love story at its heart, but it doesn't pretend to be all roses. Moore mixed in the thorns and it is perfect. Really well done.

I almost didn't read this book because of the horrible reviews. I'm glad I ignored them and read it anyway.
Was it a literary masterpiece, no. Had I listened to the people who obviously only read literary masterpieces, I would have missed reading an enjoyable read.

I must say when I started reading this book I was automatically drawn right in to it. It starts out right away with the reader meeting Haley Iverson new temp assistant for advertising agency owner Samuel Davenport, Haley got the job through her friend Ellen who had to leave the agency for maternity leave. Haley has been running for quite some time from her past in Pittsburgh where her fiance's friend Chase brutally raped her and took her virginity seeking comfort after what happened with Chase, Haley goes in search of her fiance David with evidence in hand but finds him naked in bed with another woman. So Haley is left with the only choice she has available to her at the time; pack up what little belongings she has, go to the train station, and search for the most crowded city she can head to, New York City.
Haley right away is frightened by all things loud and sudden. Every time Samuel enters the room and slams the door Haley jumps up from her chair like a scared little kitten and Samuel has finally had enough of his assistant constantly jumping every time she sees him. Fed up and annoyed, Samuel goes in search of the psychiatrist he has on staff only to discover that based off of the symptoms she is displaying that she is showing clear signs of being attacked which more likely than not ended with her being raped. Stunned, Samuel then turns to his friend and private investigator Jake to determine what happened to Haley and who might have hurt her.
As the book progresses you start to see a chance in Samuel. He tries his hardest to not scare Haley and starts to look for excuses to spend more time with her by telling her that there are campaigns he needs help with. He sees that Haley is driven always exercising and she even joins a tae kwon do class to learn self defense. But it becomes clear that Samuel has to try his hardest to keep Haley from running even hiding the way he feels about her. He tries so hard to keep Haley at bay so has not to scare her but what he doesn't realize, is that in not telling Haley where they stand and how he feels he is just causing more doubt and uncertainty in her mind. While she begins to come out of her shell and begins to be more of herself and wear clothes and be confident the way she used to be it becomes clear that she feels like she might have to run again.
Make matters worse, Jake leaves a paper trail during his investigation not only discovering her real name is Haley Daniels but bringing Chase right back into her path again and in one moment her hiding has been exposed causing Samuel's brother to be hit by a car that was aimed right at Haley. When Samuel's secret is exposed in that he has accidentally brought Chase to find out where she was hiding, Haley runs away. Will they get there happily ever after? Join Haley has she searches to discover herself again after being brutally attacked and her journey to finding that she still has the ability to love and trust another man again.
What I loved about Haley is that while she was scared and alone, she didn't play the victim always in need of help and I think that is what helped me continue to enjoy the story, I love the women in these stories to have hope and not be helpless and then men to be strong but a the same time loving. I look forward to reading the sequel and finding out what happens with Haley, Samuel, Adam, and Chase, I give this book 4 stars.
Haley right away is frightened by all things loud and sudden. Every time Samuel enters the room and slams the door Haley jumps up from her chair like a scared little kitten and Samuel has finally had enough of his assistant constantly jumping every time she sees him. Fed up and annoyed, Samuel goes in search of the psychiatrist he has on staff only to discover that based off of the symptoms she is displaying that she is showing clear signs of being attacked which more likely than not ended with her being raped. Stunned, Samuel then turns to his friend and private investigator Jake to determine what happened to Haley and who might have hurt her.
As the book progresses you start to see a chance in Samuel. He tries his hardest to not scare Haley and starts to look for excuses to spend more time with her by telling her that there are campaigns he needs help with. He sees that Haley is driven always exercising and she even joins a tae kwon do class to learn self defense. But it becomes clear that Samuel has to try his hardest to keep Haley from running even hiding the way he feels about her. He tries so hard to keep Haley at bay so has not to scare her but what he doesn't realize, is that in not telling Haley where they stand and how he feels he is just causing more doubt and uncertainty in her mind. While she begins to come out of her shell and begins to be more of herself and wear clothes and be confident the way she used to be it becomes clear that she feels like she might have to run again.
Make matters worse, Jake leaves a paper trail during his investigation not only discovering her real name is Haley Daniels but bringing Chase right back into her path again and in one moment her hiding has been exposed causing Samuel's brother to be hit by a car that was aimed right at Haley. When Samuel's secret is exposed in that he has accidentally brought Chase to find out where she was hiding, Haley runs away. Will they get there happily ever after? Join Haley has she searches to discover herself again after being brutally attacked and her journey to finding that she still has the ability to love and trust another man again.

Review of Wolfel's World of Books "Jennifer"
What do you do when the unthinkable happen to you and you are alone with no family and nobody you can trust? You Run, right? Run somewhere safe somewhere you think that people will not find you, and you keep running for fear of being hurt again, EVER!
Young and beautiful Hailey has taken up a temp position as a personal assistant to the enigma that is Samuel Davenport. Samuel and his brother Adam own a Marketing firm inherited from their father. Hailey is skittish and quiet, but very good and efficient at her job. She has been running from her dark secret since New Year's Eve and will do anything to protect herself. She truly does try to hide herself wearing unflattering and baggy clothing. Sam sees that Hailey is jumpy and nervous in his presence he isn't sure if it is him or something else. There is something about this girl that has him regretting his no dating policy when it comes to co-workers.
Sam starts out with innocent business dinners and having Hailey spend late nights working with him, going to charity balls all as an excuse to get her to trust him, to trust anyone. When Sam is alerted what her behavioral traits might mean he starts to dive into the past to uncover Hailey's secrets. Sam quickly finds that sometimes stones should be left unturned. He inadvertently exposes her and brings danger to the girl that he has become smitten with. His guilt at putting her in danger makes him want to be close to her every minute to watch over her and make sure that no harm ever comes to her again.
I have to say I was endeared to Sam right from the start. Even though he seems a little smug in the beginning and all about the business we find out things about his past that have encouraged him to behave the way he does. I quickly became smitten with him after a few chapters. He has this way about him. He isn't really dominant, but his desperate need to protect Hailey is really what makes him stand out for me. I adore a strong man that wants nothing but happiness and protection for his woman.
Poor Hailey is simply a mess. She has a hard time dealing with anything life throws at her after that fateful night. Not only does she have trust issues, she has self-esteem issues. What happened to her was traumatic and not finding a way to properly deal with that has put her in a place of denial. Other than working, she really is a recluse but it is completely understandable having been through what she has. Sam does his best to break her out of her shell but she doesn’t ever make it easy on the man.
I admit that I am a sucker for the Happily Ever After and feel that every negative needs a positive. Sam is the most positive thing in Hailey's life even if she doesn't want to believe or trust in it.
Nicole has a great story with Sam and Hailey and the natural progression of their relationship makes this book relatable to real life. You can see the things that the characters are going through happening in real life. The realistic approach to a relationship is refreshing!
I give "Hiding Out” 4.5 stars." I wanted just a little bit more in the ending but then I found out that there is a 2nd book!!!! Squeee ... That made me happy! The 2nd book will cover some of the unresolved issues in this book and I am excited to see the journey continue ...

When we have been wounded and hurt we run away from what is causing the pain. We use band aides to cover the wounds. Band-aides are temporary because we all know if you leave that Band-Aid on, it exacerbates the wound. Bacteria festers, the wound infected. Fear of taking the band-aide off or the fear of the damage, actually causes more damage. Sometimes we have to be pushed to take the Band-Aid off ourselves. Sometimes we need someone's help. Someone to either rip the band-aide off or push us to rip it off ourselves.
Samuel Davenport is a busy man running his family's business and keeping business social events. He doesn't have the time for much of a personal life with his job. He is so busy he needs a personal assistant to help with the load. So, when his assistant left on maternity leave and recommended a friend to fill in, he jumped on the opportunity. He just didn't expect to want personal time with her. He is curious and slightly worried about her. She comes off as timid, shy and downright jumpy. Almost scared.
Haley Iverson is enjoying her knew found job. It may be temporary but she’s determined to do her best. She like to stick to her routine and be home before. She would go without groceries if she couldn't make it from work to home in time before dusk. Haley comes off as a bit of an enigma. You can tell she's been traumatized but by what exactly? We just don't know.
Samuel works hard to make Haley fit in and feel SAFE. He sends his friend and PI out to investigate and find more information about Haley. He truly wants to help. At first, Haley doesn't know how to react to his advances. To keep from scaring her away, Sam comes up with Job related excuses to spend time with her. The more time you spend with someone the more you get to know. Well...not exactly Haley keeps her secrets hidden and her true self hidden. She wants to trust Sam but holds back. Sam falls madly in love with Haley, as he watches her emerge and blossom into a confident and strong woman. Haley’s past come back for her and she must learn to get rid of the Band-Aid. Her past not only affects her but those in life now.
"With Haley, it was different. He wanted to kiss her safe on her forehead, touch her with a hint of romance on the cheeks, give in to the impulse with those amazing lips."
Can I just say, That Sam was a sweetheart in this book? He may not have went about things the right way, but he made it work until it didn't. Haley was written in a way that you felt sorry for her, but you didn't get annoyed with her timid actions. I loved this cute story and was drawn to all of the characters. In the beginning I had a rough start with it but I hung in there and it proved to be an interesting story. I love the little bit suspense and mystery that came with the story as well. I can’t wait for the next book, Adam’s story, Sam’s younger play boy brother.

Samuel Davenport is Ceo and owner of his families biz after his parents pass away and leave it for him and his younger brother Adam to run. Unfortunately Adam chose to run from it instead of help run it. On top of that his personal asst had to have time off to have a baby and is replaced by her friend a skittish Haley who jumps at the drop of a dime. Annoying as this is to Samuel, he is attracted to her and realizes thru her body language and personality that something bad has happened to her. He takes it upon himself to try to find out what has happened and change his own ways to make her more comfortable around him to draw her out in the hopes that she will fall for him as he is falling for her.
Haley Iverson is trying to come back from one of the most horrible things a person can experience. Running away from the only place and people she has ever know on the night of being attacked, she heads to NYC and crashes in on her once room mate Ellen who tries to help her get back on her feet without knowing what has happened to her. She thinks taking Ellens job temporarily will be a way to help her hide from herself and the world. Little does she know that she is about to embark on a revealing expedition instead of a concealing one like she had planned. She begins to see the lengths that Sam will go to to help her through and to show her that life is possible.
But with the both of them dealing with heartache of sorts how will they be able to connect to one another without pushing the other away?
I liked this story. It was a story of hope, determination and love. The characters were nicely developed and the story flowed well. Unfortunately I felt it was very predictable and for 2 people who have been thru some trauma it was very bland. Haley seemed depressed but not as traumatized as it would have you think and Sam was just as moody for someone who is trying to help her thru this experience. Adam seemed to have more personality so I'm hoping his story will have more too. I look forward to reading Finally Found in the hopes that it gives Sam and Haley a more colorful story and continue to build on Adam and his bold character.

Haley Iverson is a temp seceraty at Samuel Davenport's Advertising Agency. Haley is a quiet and shy person who hides herself in frumpy clothing and a bad dye job. Her boss, Sam, sees through her act and is intent on finding out what is really going on with Haley. Hiding Out has a great premise, it wasn't the typical story that I've been seeing lately. It kept me wondering what was going on with Haley and if she would be able to stay safe.
Sam was an interesting one too! He is running a very successful company in his early thirties and taking on a serious, tough guy attitude to help him fit the mold. All while his play boy brother, Adam, reaps the benefits of his hard work. Somehow, I knew that wasn't really Sam though. After a couple of awkward encounters with Haley, his walls started breaking and he felt the need to take care of her and protect her.
The build up and sexual tension between the two of them was great. I got so excited around the midway point of the novel. I was rooting for Sam and Haley and knew Sam would get things right. But no, he just didn't get it, at all. I got so frustrated with his attempts to keep Haley around under pretenses of work and his inability to share his feelings with her. It was like watching the two most stubborn people not find happiness because neither want to make the first move!
I ended up liking Adam a lot! In the short time we spent with him during the novel, I saw him grow and finally got Sam to see the light. Haley's transformation from begining to end was impressive. She was no longer going to be a victim and took charge mentally, physically and legally. I really liked the ending and was happy with the story overall. The style of changing POVs often was a little confusing at times for me. I will be looking for more novels by Nicole Andrews Moore!

Haley straightened. “In hide and seek, the person is revealed as soon as he or she is found.” She watched a moment to see that he was following along. Satisfied, she continued. “In sardines, once the person is found, the seeker climbs on in and joins the hider. No one is caught.”
Thinking on what she had just said, Sam leaned in to within a couple of inches of her face. “From what I recall of sardines, the players have to get mighty close.” He watched her swallow really hard. “And,” he added with a small degree of satisfaction, “it also means you have to let me in.”
Haley has been hiding for the past few months and she finally thinks she wants to let someone in and that person is Sam. Haley is a temp working for Sam’s company and he is completely intrigued by her because she does not seem to care about his money or his power. Sam is also intrigued by her because she has a sense of mystery and timidness to her and he wants to find out why.
Nicole Andrews Moore tackles pretty heavy subject in date rape and the road from being a victim to a survivor. Moore’s writing style is one that will keep you interested. I really wanted to rate this book higher but there were certain aspects of the book such as Sam’s silly excuses to spend time with Haley that seemed as if he was a teenager instead of a man in his early 30′s. I was also slightly frustrated after the build up of Haley confronting her attacker by how quickly the trial went and the lack of details surrounding it. Overall, Hiding Out was a solid story and a quick read. I am truly looking forward to Miss Moore’s next book because I have a feeling that Sam’s brother has quite a story to be told!!

Haley is the new temp to Sam Davenport at his advertising agency. Sam is a demanding jerk who gets what he wants, but realizes quickly that shy Haley needs to be treated with kid gloves. He talks friends and hires a private investigator to find out more about her. He slowly starts inviting her to client dinners and asking for her help on advertising campaigns, and quickly realizes that she has the ability to work in the marketing field. When his brother, Adam, is struck by a car, he leaves Haley to run the business while he waits for Adam to recover. Sam also learns secrets about Haley's past, and realizes that he can't fix everything, and Haley will need to learn to stand up for herself.
Sam was a very typical alpha, who used manipulation to get what he wanted, but Haley caught on quick and it was her choice to let him make decisions for her. The storyline was a little faulty, with Haley using a fake name but it apparently didn't matter at a job (hello, W2s, airport security, etc.). There were a couple of other things, but overall, the story was good. We learn that Haley was sexually abused by a man, so if you have problems with that, please take that into consideration. She overcomes her past and with Sam's help, she learns to be a strong woman who learns to stop running.
This story was a a standalone, but there is a second book called Finally Found about Sam's younger brother Adam.
Sexual Content: There was a sexual assault, and it was described. There was also consensual sex between the H/h.
