In the summer of 2003, two young marine biology students find madness and murder when they open a cursed oceanographic project off the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Dead Reckoning is an intense study of terror, redolent of the drowned whispers of a dark, haunted sea.

Annie Mitchell – a marine biologist studying at Woods Hole – finds herself obsessed in reopening an infamous oceanographic project that has taken the lives of two scientists some years before. She and her partner, Stewart Eddinger, get more than they bargained for when they find themselves “haunted” by intense impulses, hallucinations, and an intangible evil that seems to be the biblical Leviathan incarnate. As the two continue their investigation into the heart of the mystery, they discover nothing is as it seems, and they become slowly consumed by the terrifying legend of Leviathan.

I'm going to bed wondering why I think I can sleep after reading M Cid D'Angelo's Dead Reckoning. I should have finished it during the day. I would be safer on the streets of downtown Davenport tonight than I will be in my dreams. Thank you, D'Angelo, for a great story. More later.
