This high-powered short story tells the tale of a young military commander and his platoon who attempt to gain access to a heavily-defended terrorist enclosure by using a government-designed "temporal displacement device" or time machine. But the uncertainties of time travel become readily apparent as the platoon quickly faces far more dangerous foes than terrorists, and the young commander must discover a way to escape being trapped in this hostile world.
Bennet R Coles writes sci Fi as it should be. It’s original story draws the reader in swiftly. It’s world is no clone of other works, well-constructed in a future that is believable. Like his other works All Quiet on the Temporal Front pulls you in from page one! Investment in leading characters comes easily. Have a background in military operations charters behave with strong credibility. I liked it, a lot!
A great read. Too, too short though. I enjoyed it so much I'm off to buy his other 2 books right now. Now that... is about the best recommendation one can make!
