Welcomed to Phantom Variations, Volume 2: Further Tales from the Worlds of the Opera Ghost. Yes, worlds because there are as many settings for Erik's story as there are authors with imaginations.
Back in 2008, a group of writers (The Write Stuff) came up with the idea of putting their creative imaginations together to create an anthology featuring the mysterious masked Phantom, the results of which would go to a good cause. The book became Phantom Variations: Tales from the World of the Opera Ghost. The good cause was the American Porphyria Foundation. The APF was chosen because a person suffering from porphyria, a cruel and devastating disease, is thought to have been Leroux's inspiration for his character, Erik. All proceeds from the sale of that book were donated to the American Porphyria Foundation.
It's three years later and TWS is offering a second volume featuring further tales about Erik, Christine, Raoul as well as some new characters, too.
There's something for everyone, from drabbles, ficlets and one-shots to short stories as well as a couple novellas. Genres range from humor to horror, from drama to romance, from 19th century Paris to Occupied France of World War II.
Once again, ALL proceeds from the sale of this book will benefit the American Porphyria Foundation.
So sit back in your favorite comfy chair and join us on a journey to the many worlds of the Opera Ghost, and help some good people at the same time.
