I loved this book, the first is still my face though!
I was a little gutted that there wasn't more of reese and ashlyn;)
I really love Reese and feel like he should be given his chance!
I want ashlyn to become immortal: badly!
As always I still love Memaw! And loved the twist with aiden and McKenna! Never saw it coming! And mary? That was wicked!
Yeah can't wait for the third and maybe reese will finally get his shot with ashlyn please!

Traitor by Megan Curd is like a Halloween haunted house ride, you never know what it going to pop up around the corner. Sometimes the second book in a series is great, but does not quite live up to the first book. In this case, even though Bridger was amazing, Traitor blows it out of the water!! I just cannot clearly express the emotions or wrap my brain around the twists, turns, and super mega crazy stuff that went down in Traitor. For those that have not read Bridger, there may be a few spoilers in this review but they will be minor. This series focuses on Irish Folklore, specifically Faery mythology. In the Bridger series, it deals a lot with the Changeling mythology. Evil creatures sent to steal children away, and replace them with changelings.

In Bridger, Ashlyn discovers, she is not entirely human, and is thrown into a feud between the ruler of the Changelings, Ankou, and her grandmother. The events in Traitor are a more tumultuous mix then those of the first book. Ashlyn is facing a number of tough decisions in this book, and I have a feeling that the next book in the series is not going to get any easier. Ashlyn just want to hang out with her new boyfriend and sworn protector, Liam. The problem is there are still people to save from the clutches of the Ankou, and the only one that has the gift to crossover into the changeling realm is Ashlyn.

There were so many moments in the book that I thought it would go one way, and it twisted around like a crazy straw to go a different direction. There are two points of view in the book, it is mostly told from Ashlyn’s perceptive but to help show all sides of the story, Ashlyn’s best friend Reese is also a narrator from time to time. I seriously think I am going to need a few days to recover from the excitement, and insanity that was Traitor. I am beyond ecstatic that I read this book, because it is just a marvelous story.

Ashlyn is strong but venerable as a lead character, and Megan Curd does an amazing job creating a wonderful adventure for readers to enjoy. If you have not had the chance to start Bridger, do it, and then quickly pick up Traitor to experience even more of such a fascinating world filled with wondrous characters.

There is a traitor afoot (or 2, or 3). Birds of a feather? Miss Megan leaves us constantly in suspense wondering if anyone is actually who they appear to be. Can self sacrifice be considered selfishness? It a question Ashlyn must face as she risks losing everyone and everything that means anything to her. Who is trustworthy? Who is simply misunderstood? Every victory comes with a price. How much is she willing to pay? One thing is certain, in the life of a Bridger absolutely nothing at all is as it sees.

Well done Megan! Your third book can't come soon enough!

Ashlyn is on everybody's hit list, she is a Bridger who can cross realms at will and shift into anyone including changeling's but she is still mortal and can die. Her grandmother is a famous assassin who is immortal and she cursed the evil Anouk who wants revenge on her family. Ash is having a hard time as she refused immortality because it would mean her boyfriend Liam would die. She has been given 6 months to decide and she needs to find a loophole before then that will allow them to stay together. Ash is impulsive, loyal to a fault and reckless in her pursuit to free her family and friends from Anouk's influence. Her brother Chris was kidnapped, her father killed and also Liam's brother was taken and Ash needs to go to Neamar to steal them back. Unplanned missions with no backup or contingency plan seem to be Ash's speciality and Liam can't go there as he cannot shift into a changeling so he would be detected. Not that life wasn't complicated before but Roslin's decision to offer immortality to her childhood best friend Reece causes more trouble and strife. Reece jumps at the chance to be immortal and Ash's new protector thereby freeing Liam who is mortal. Reece also thinks that if he lives forever he can try and win Ash away from Liam eventually. He has loved her since they were kids and rues the day he let her escape with Liam to Ireland. Liam is a romantic irishman whose family have grown up knowing about changelings as his brother was kidnapped and his mother Tess is also a Bridger. He loves Ash with all his heart but feels useless to protect her because he has no immortality. Now that Reece is on the scene, jealousy erupts and the game is on to see who can win her heart. The stakes have just been raised and Ash must decide who is worth saving before she goes up against Anouk. Can she put her family back together and what are the consequences of her decisions if she succeeds in freeing her family. Friendships are tested, enemies are revealed and the ending is action packed.

On this second book, Ashlyn is now officially a Bridger and she continues to struggle with the loss of her father and disappearance of her brother. And there's her internal battle with immortality and desire to keep Liam alive. The hardships that the lovers have gone through were no joke. Ash would do everything to save her family and her loved ones, even if she had to turn to her enemies and side with them.

Of course, there are still lots of action-packed sequences right at the beginning of the story. What kept me sane was the thought that there was a traitor in their midst and I didn't stop until I knew who it was. Oh I love the very interesting twists in the end! I was really caught off guard when I learned who the real traitor was. That was just so sick! Lesson learned: Never trust a fairie. Really!

Honestly, I fell in love with the characters more here in the second book. Liam still mesmerized me with his prowess and undying devotion. Reese..ohh my hero! I am so happy for him! Reese narrating half of the story was wicked. Words are not enough to express how much I loved him now. Memaw, on the other hand, is still one hell of a grandma, but there is something off with her, I just couldn't tell what. and then there's Ankou.. Jamie..Chris..Aiden.. These creatures sent shiver down my spine. But I loved how they were given more importance in this sequel. They had their own distinct personalities and served their purpose in the end.

But is this really the end? No, because there is still a third book and that's what I look forward to.

Overall, I must say that this is really a very exciting book. I would love to see this on the big screen! True, Traitor and Bridger are aimed for the younger generation (I'm already in my early 30s, mind you!) but it still captivated me. Megan Curd proves herself to be a master of fantasy / paranormal with her masterfully written sequel. Her writing is stunning and fluid. I really can't wait to read the next book in the series.

5 stars ***** rating for Megan Curd and a toast for another great story!

Now that Ashlyn has embraced the fact that she's part evil Changeling and part faerie, it's time for her to get down to business. She's determined to free both her and Liam's brothers from the prisons of the evil Changeling commander, Ankou.

But things are steadily getting more complicated. It's becoming clear that Liam being Ashlyn's protector may not have been the best idea for either of them. And with Ashlyn's hometown being overrun by Irishmen and magical creatures, interesting things are bound to happen. Ashlyn will learn that friends--and enemies--are where you least expect them.

So, I made my feelings known about Ashlyn and her love triangle in the Bridger review. Well, not much changed this time around. I'm gonna go ahead and say I am TEAM REESE...especially after the awesome thing he did at the end of the book!

One big difference between Traitor and Bridger was that Ashlyn and Reese had alternating chapters in this book. Honestly, I looked forward to Reese's chapters more. He was definitely more entertaining and just more fun to experience than Ashlyn.

There were quite a few twists and surprises in Traitor, and that is always something I love--when I can't actually see a plot twist coming! Megan Curd is a master at throwing a big curveball during the last ten percent of a book ;) But the twists aren't so out of left field as to be unbelievable--they make sense if you go back and recall the things that transpired.

There was much better characterization in this book than the first--I loved getting to know this group of people better. As I said, Reese had some chapters from his point of view, and I loved getting inside his head and seeing how he felt about Ashlyn, Liam, and the whole magic-is-real situation.

This book was a great mix of fast action, humor, paranormal, and romance--though that part is still getting on my nerves. But I will most definitely be reading the next book in the series!

Second book to this series, and great follow-up I thought! The title definitely seems to fit this book, as that seems to be the constant thread in common among a few. Starts with Ashlyn coming back from Neamar and Changelings are running after her. She has become stronger at channeling her "inner changeling” if you will, so she’s able to change and come and go between the human realm and Neamar, to get back Aiden, Liam’s brother, and her own, Chris. While on her second return there, she comes to find her dad has been kept there as well in a dungeon cell all this time that she and her family thought he was dead. She sort of befriends a Gangeling, who seems to have turned ‘traitor’ on Ankou, and helps Ashlyn along her journeys to Neamar. She rescues Aiden, finds out her grandmother’s daughter, Makenna has sided with the very enemy who has been after her & her family. Her ex BFF, Jamie, who also tried to kill her in the past, comes to side with Ashlyn in exchange to getting her younger brother back, since Ankou has also kidnapped him. The most shocking event of all to me was when we find out the truth about Aiden’s true intentions! I could not believe that after all that Ashlyn went through to get him back for Liam and Tess, he did what he did; I’m not saying what – you’ll have to read to find out! Oh, and OMG!!! LIAM… can finally be with Ashlyn with the turn of events at the end. I’m so glad Megan didn’t ‘off’ him, cuz I would’ve been very, very upset if that happened.

This book has fights, definitely betrayals, romance, friendship…what else could you ask for? The editing needs to be tweaked a tiny bit; there were a few extra words here and there, or a ‘she’ when it was supposed to be a ‘he’; little things like that. Other than that, I thought it was well written, and can't wait til the next! =D

Welcome to the second book in the Bridger series... Buckle up it's a wild ride! The story continues as Ashlyn continues to discover things about her and the world around her. It is so well written that you find yourself submersed into the world Megan has created, and you won't want to leave it! Adventure, Love, Truths, and of course traitors... all in one word... Captivating!

Ashlyn... she really grows in this book. Her relationship with Liam is tested and she is trying to learn and control new powers. The poor girl is really put through it this time :) She has to learn who to trust and it's not a given who that is. While tryin to save the ones she and her family loves...it gets bumpy!

Reece... Oh I adore him! He is a great best friend and something great happens to him this go round! Let me just say I have mad respect for this boy!

Liam... *sigh* I love him... he is always there for Ashlyn even when he shouldn't be. He tries hard to make her feel protected even if she ends up saving/helping him, it's so sweet. Of course he's a guy and he reacts to some things just the right way..instead of oh ok no problem... he actually has guy moments and says I'm pissed!

Memaw is one kick ass lady! Assassin faerie and grandmother all rolled into one. She has some things up her sleeve but hey she is a faerie after all... and as it says no one should trust a faerie!

There are somethings that will make you look like woody over here! I love when a story has me do that!

You should really get this and delve into the Bridger world. Great characters, amazing story and more!!

It took me all of five seconds to get sucked in the adventure packed world of Ashlyn, the awesome main character that Megan has crafted. Megan is strong, stubborn, and cares so much for her friends and family. Ash has a wit and humor about her that I can't help but fall in love with and be invested in her until I get to the last page and beyond.
I was up until all hours of the night reading this, and didn't want to stop until I got to the last page, and even then, I still wished that there was more to read.
The other characters that I loved, Liam the hot love interest. My heart broke for some of the things that he and Ash went through and had to deal with, and I love the heated moments we see between them. Meemaw is present and kick ass as ever. I love every scene that she is in, and I never know what to expect. I also love hearing what other people think about her, and how she invokes such a response from people. When I get old, I wanna be just like her, lol.
It wouldn't be complete without talking about how awesome Reece is. My heart goes out to him and his feelings, and the sacrifices he makes for the people he cares about. He is such a great best friend, even in those moments he is being hard-headed and you want to strangle him a little. I almost cried near the end at what he did, and I can't wait to see what happens in his story next.
There is never ending action, and surprises and twists that I never saw coming. Megan keeps me on my toes, and I can't wait until the next one to find out what happens to these characters that I have come to love and care about so much.

I LOVED Bridger, so I was really excited to read Traitor. Megan has created such a full and detailed world, or should I say worlds, and I loved getting lost within them once again.

This is an action packed book. In fact, im starting to realize that anything staring Ash is going to be action packed because this girl is stubborn as a mule and just about as impulsive as they come. But I just love her. She always has the very best intentions and she is just so good hearted. She wants to save everyone.

I loved Reece so much more than Liam in this book and I am kind of scared that he is going to "find some hot faerie" to use his own words. I'm not going to tell you what goes on in the romance department of this book because guessing is half the fun. But I will say that both Liam and Reece make a pretty good showing in Traitor.

One thing that I loved about this book was that it kept me guessing! I did not see some of this coming. It is just really well done. I will say that I wish I saw more of Ash's powers. At the end of the last book she was doing all sorts of awesome stuff, but we didnt really get too many opportunities to see her further develop them in Traitor. Someone else stole the show in the powers department, I think.

The Bridger series by Megan Curd is full paranormal creatures and awesome far away worlds. It is like a fantasy mixed with a paranormal, and I just love the combination. The whole cast of charaters bring something to the story, no one is just there superficially. I am loving this series and I can't wait to see what the next book will bring!

A Huge thank you to AToMR for allowing me to be a part of this blog tour. In Traitor we get to see Ashlyn grow up and become more invested in her heritage. She will have to swift and wade through the murky waters to uncover who the traitor is and how she can stop them.

Ashlyn is trying to protect her family and friends. She knows they are going to war and no matter what happens she knows this she must keep her family and friends safe from the evil Faes. She has taken her responsibilities as Bridger seriously and she will stop at nothing to end this war. To make matters worse she is still locked in the love triangle of Reese and Liam.

Ashlyn will have to fight her way through this crazy Fae land because the evil and the good Faes think the war is coming and they are getting prepared for it. Ashlyn will have to learn to trust someone in order to help her make decisions. But what is a girl to do when everyone is pulling you into different directions? Will she chose the evil that is lurking in the background? Or Will she chose the path her father was on? Will the Fae world be destroyed? Come along for the greatest ride of a lifetime. This book will not disappoint you and when you are finished you will screaming for more.

Ashlyn is back in this riveting sequel of the Bridger series,
It turns out that you should never trust a faerie . . . while Ashlyn was training, two little changelings made it through the crack. One of them name Dalbach offers to help Ashlyn to find Aiden, Liam’s missing brother. But along the way Ashlyn discovered her father is still alive. Liam and Reese are at each other again with jealously, although Ashlyn loves Liam but Reese also loves her. An old foe Jamie is willing to help if Ashlyn helps her in returns. The story of McKenna is reveals and she not on the good side anymore, playing the love interest of Ankou. There is a traitor among the group, who is it? Both Chris and Ashlyn dad is returned but one is there for one last final goodbye.
As a reader, I have never read such folklore fantasy and I love the sequel and can’t wait for the next book to come out 

Traitor starts off recapping much of the final scene of Bridger before launching itself at hyper speed into Ashlyn's continuing adventure crossing between worlds and trying to save the day. There was so much happening that not only was it difficult to put down, but a little hard to keep up with. That's not even considering the humongous OMG moments sprinkled throughout. I'm still trying to decide if Ashlyn is a self absorbed brat or someone to admire. She is far too impulsive, rarely thinks of the outcomes of her impetuous actions, yet somehow endearing. But I suppose that just about sums up most 16 year old girls, especially given the gravity of her world. Both Liam and Reese fans will be both shocked and pleased with this installment, just have some tissues and a seat belt handy, Traitor is a roller coaster in the best sense of the term.

Ashlyn is at it again. She has taken her role as a Bridger in stride and is doing her best to protect her family and friends from the evil fairies.

The love triangle takes on a few new developments that complicate her choice. I was surprised by the twist that Megan added to the situation. I am not sure who I like better, Liam or Reese.

I was also surprised by some of Megan's decisions on trusting. I couldn't see it. You would have to read the book to see what I mean.

Overall, Megan has created a detailed and interesting realm of dealing with the fairy. She stays true to her plot and keeps the characters true to character.

I really enjoy the books. There is some minor swearing kissing. Overall, I would recommend this book to YA readers.

Loved the plot twists of this second novel. There were some errors in the writing but nothing that kept me from being able to read and enjoy it. I was Team Reese this entire book so I was disappointed by Ashlyn and Liam sticking it out. Loved Reese! However a novel of Roslin and Reese falling for each other I could do! I could easily continue reading about the committee members as well. I feel they were left a mystery that needs to be unwrapped. I don't know if I want more Ashlyn/Liam... they were actually my least favorite characters. Ashlyn could be annoying at times and Liam I simply didn't care for. That being said I liked this book and enjoyed it as a whole.

Wow...what a sequel! In my opinion, this was better than the first. Our heroine Ashlyn grows so much in this book and everything she set out to do...she did...with balls of steel! The ending was perfect! We got a lot of answers to many questions while still leaving some open for the next book. SOOO many jaw dropping moments and "holy shiiiiiit!!!" moments too. And some crazy shit goes down at the end! I loved this and can't wait for the next book!!

Book Review- Traitor by Megan Curd

Ashlyn is still in Ireland. She is searching for her brother and Liam’s brother. She has been making covert trips into Neamar looking for them both with no luck. Then a changeling follows her home. Dalbach offers to help her search for them. She knows not to trust him but Tess is so heartbroken knowing her son is missing and being held in Neamar. She has to take the chance. Liam is angry as he can’t go and he is failing as a protector.
While Ash is away things change. Liam is replaced as her protector. Reese is made immortal by Rozz. He takes over the job as things get more dangerous for Ashlyn. She rescues Liam’s brother but learns her dad is still alive. As she plots to save him, she learns of a betrayal in the family. She can’t tell her grandmother who is working with Ankou. When Ash’s house and school get blown up it appears she isn’t safe anywhere.
Ash is torn, she has to rescue her father. She can’t leave him to be tortured. She has to go against all the voices of reason. She gathers the ones she believes she can trust to help her. However, things don’t go as she plans. There is betrayal in the works as Ankou shows up trying to sway Ash. He tries to take what is important to her. She almost loses everything.
I liked the first book and looked forward to reading this one. However, after I started it, I found it hard to keep reading it. My problem was with Ashtyn. I didn’t like how she acted and came across. She was so stubborn refusing to listen to anyone. She was too focused on what she wanted to do and how she felt she needed to do it.
I didn’t like her very much in this book. She seemed pretty bratty. Then her confusion about Reese almost ruined everything she had going. I really wanted to shake her on more than one occasion. She really frustrated me as I read the book.
I liked the battles and the intrigue. I was extremely surprised who betrayed them in the end. I did not see that coming at all. It was a crazy ending. Lots of unexpected events that completely turns Ash’s life upside down even more. I give it a 3.5 out of 5.

This is a really fun and entertaining read for the ya crowd. This book has lots of action and a couple twists and turns. Spoiler alert***I really liked the title of the book because you are wondering from the beginning who the traitor is and as the book proceeds you find there are more than one traitors and you get a feeling that are maybe even more that are not even revealed yet. Makes you think about who you can really trust, can you forgive and trust someone again after being betrayed, how strong can friendships be? I'm a little concerned about the selfishness of Ash. I'm torn on whether or not she has been acting selfishly. The thing that bothered me was when after she brought her father back home, and it didn't turn out like she has hoped, she said she wouldn't have done all of this if she had known he wasn't going to live. I didn't like that she overlooked the fact that she released her father from eternal pain and suffering and gave him a peaceful death. That should have made it worth it for her. I'm also not so sure about Memaw anymore. Not sure if she is on the right side or not. This made me think about how fAr someone should go for family loyalty, and what happens when a child finally realizes that their family is not what they thought it was, or finds out the family is involved in illegal activity. The only thing I don't like about the series is the love triangle --- I hate the love triangle, but I like the other parts of the book well enough to read the next installment.

I liked the book. Up to the end. Is that the end? Is there another book coming? I felt that this book was dragged out way to much in some places. I do love the characters and the plot line. My rating comes down to the endin or lack there of. Hopefully there's another book...
