“He’s destroying me—us. I need him like my next breath, yet I’m suffocating.”

An unrequited love that has ripped her to pieces.

Delara has loved Waleron for over a century. Their intense chemistry is sensual, gripping, irresistible. But tragedy struck, and after sixty-one years of believing he was dead, Waleron returns a tortured man. He claims the man she loves is dead, yet the undeniable sexual tension still pulls them together.

“I am no longer the man you love, maitagarri. I am incapable of it.”

Waleron has given his oath to protect the Senses. He will sacrifice everything for them. But there is one Senses he has vowed to protect more than any other—Delara. He will do anything to make certain she is safe, even if it means he must deny her the love they once shared.

She is the hunted.

Delara’s life is in jeopardy and Waleron will do anything to protect her. But he never suspected that Xamien, the man he brings to help protect her is way more important to her than he ever knew.

Torn between two men and hunted by another, Delara must fight her hardest battle—herself.

FALL can be read as a stand-alone, however it is highly recommended to read the 1st two books to completely understand the love story.

This book is intended for 18 and up.

This 3rd installment was slow going for me. The beginning, us getting the back story on Waleron & Delara, who they were when they 1st met & ultimately fell in love. I loved this. The events that occurred which turned them into the people we come to know them as since book 1, all of this was written well. The blessing, is all of this is at the beginning so it sucks you in immediately. The curse, is once you hit chapter 1 til about 56% of the novel... It was kind of, for lack of a better word... boring. I found it hard to care about Delara's plight in the present tense in this book. Maybe it was cos of how she handled her & Waleron's situation in the 1st 2 books leading into this one. Maybe it was cos all they did was stay in their heads & continued to repeat things over & over & over again. They sounded like broken records, making no progress at all. I suspect it was all the above, but what put the cherry on top was the "Love Triangle" with Delara, Xamien & Waleron It didn't really read as one IMO. It read like filler that really wasn't needed. I didn't really care for Xamien til closer to the end of the novel. And this only happened once he accepted where his place was to be in Delara's world in the future. And even then, my sympathy wasn't really born for him cos of his dilemma with Delara, but more cos of his dilemma with someone else close to him. This held more weight for me than I fear it was suppose to, given the why of what I think was Xamien's purpose in this book. No matter though. Once the ball Finally got to rolling again, things got much, much better.

There were 2 BIG shockers in this one that left me like...

Tarek, What a sick, sick puppy. A great Villain though.

There is a new character you meet in this one, Jasper. I have a MAJOR crush on this dude. His book will be next if the ending is anything to go by. Just hoping his book lives up to his intro & more. But his entrance had me like...

The action & reveals once again were on point & caught me completely by surprise as the story unfolded. I'm loving it. And a BIG THANK YOU to Ms. Paterson.... The reveals, growth & semi-closure I got with Waleron & Delara in this one? Superb!

Ms. Paterson, you're just... Awesome!

I can't help but wonder though, what the heck is going to become of Damien

I don't know when book 4 will be out but I most certainly will be reading it when it gets here. I highly recommend this series people. Please read it in order.

This novel has an intensity to it that comes from more than just the action. Readers will become completely invested in this novel both intellectually and emotionally. Paterson’s writing draws you in like no other. She masters the art of minute switches in writing style to highlight various scenes and to mellow the reader during down times. Her amazing descriptions always fit the current mood and tone of the story. Through the action and suspense of this novel the reader experiences a love story extraordinaire, complete with out of the ordinary complications and setbacks. There are lots of twists and turns amidst the intensity of the action and reaction of the storyline that keep the readers on their toes.

I love how Paterson goes back and fills in the blacks between Waleron and Delara (and by default, the Talde as a whole) in this novel. You get to know these characters on multiple different levels and at multiple different times throughout. The entire cast of characters becomes more developed throughout this novel as you find out more about their past connections and how they all came together in the present. By this point in the series these very well developed characters, who have come more and more alive with each instalment, are like family both to each other and to the reader. It’s amazing to see them together and how they got there. I also appreciate the sheer number of drool worthy Alpha male characters in the novel, and the fact that their significant others are equally strong females. It makes for a brilliant story.

Overall, this was by far my favourite instalment in the Senses trilogy. It gave me the book hangover of the century. All I could think about was the need to stay with the characters and read it again. I found myself looking for possible hints to sequels so it didn’t have to end.

Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.

If anyone has read my last reviews for the first two books in this series, it's not entirely hard to deduce that I loved this one every bit as much.

It's actually a bit hard for me to talk about the book in any manner of detail without giving spoilers, which I try to refrain from doing in most all of my reviews.

Though, I can tell you what has hooked me on this series. It's definitely the well-developed world building the author has done, solid writing style, and the characters that do it for me. As a whole, it all meshes together oh so well to create a satisfying series that will leave you anticipating the next book in the series, as I am now. The author likes to surprise the reader in some cases, and you can't help but feel the growing tension between the characters. For me, who really hates not "knowing" and is an impatient reader, I flew through the pages to learn the characters' fates. It became crucial for me to "know" what would happen to each.

Plus, hot possessive, alpha men.. come on, now. Need I say more?

When I finished this book, I know I released a long sigh of relief and immediately felt the urge to re-read it again. While I am no authority, and this is strictly my opinion, if you haven't tried this series, you are truly missing out. Go on, go grab a copy.

3rd in the series and I was not disappointed..till it ended and then I wanted to read more!! Again another wonderful book. Talk about complex characters, I could feel the pain and suffering and I couldn't decide who Delara should end up, I waffled back and forth through the whole book. You can not help but fall in love with Xamien, at least I couldn't. Wonderful job Cindy Paterson and I can't wait for the next installment

And here I am at 4:40 am, not even tired. so needless to say. I regret nothing.

First off, this is the third in the series, the author does say that you can read it as a standalone but i HIGHLY recommend that you don't because well a) the first two are amazing. b) i think this story is just a little bit more powerful with their history from the first two books c) the first two books are amazing.

Second off, The author, the amazing Cindy Paterson, asked if i would review this honestly for a free copy. I said hell yes because well again with my list a) i always do honesty b) i loved the first two in this series. So there is that little disclaimer but seriously this would be getting the same review, and same rating even if i had paid for it, and honestly i would have paid for this it is worth every single penny.

Now Reviewin' Time.

Song CHOICE! okay so if you look through my statuses you will see that there were a few songs listed in there. Yes these are also my choices for the book. I started with "Can't Make You Love Me" (cover) by Bon Iver, and yes the one by Bon Iver not Adele or anyone else, Bon's i am not negotiating on this. "Damn You" by Lana Del Rey, "My Love" by Sia (also "Breathe Me" by Sia if you really want) "Swelling" by Sarah Jaffe (got me through the roughest of times), and finally this is an all instrumental song but it has the most beautiful journey in the song it seemed perfect so last one: "The Arrival of Birds & Transformation" by the Cinematic Orchestra.

First thoughts and what nots: So warning: This is not for faint of heart, and this is not going to be all sunshine and rainbows, got it? Good because this is a heart-wrenching-ly beautiful but PAINFUL love story. One that has stretched over at least a century. Even if you have never read any other books in this series you will become so connected with the characters when you first met them. You will feel their hurt, their love, their heartbreakingly beautiful story within the first couple of chapters your heart will cry out. And tears you feel like you shouldn’t be crying will fall for characters you just met. Cindy Paterson had made characters and such an achingly beautiful love story within the first 15% of her novel Fall that not reading it would be a shame at worst, and criminal at best. I, and no i am not gloating just being dead honest, I don't cry much, rarely at best, one of my best friends who has known me for oh god...8 years? has seen me cry ONCE. Well now two times as she came over earlier today while i was reading this and caught me crying. I said before this isn't for the faint of heart and i meant that i wasn't trying to be funny. You will need a box of tissues, a very isolated place so people don't a) see you crying b) bother you while you are reading it. Though i promise you, there will be times when you will have to probably take a five minute walk. Alright i always get carried away here.

Plot: SO it seems to be a trend lately to have series sort of start flopping around you know the second or third book in the series, the first one will have your heart racing, and your addiction going for more, then you read the next one and you are like... seriously? This only gets better. The first i think it was 25%-ish of the book was structured really strangely but i loved it. I at one moment thought the whole book would be like that and i was strangely alright with it. Like i mentioned before this love has been spanning over a century we got lotz of ground to cover in a little bit of time. But MY GOD the emotions in this book. You have you higher than a kite, then lower in this pit of endless gloom, to seeing the light of that sky in chapter to chapter and going from that to that flawlessly. I never felt like i was being jerked around in my emotions, nor did i feel it was abrupt. The first half of the book yeah there wasn't a whole lot of car chasing sort of action but it will keep you going, and the second half yeah there is more adventure more, "car chasing" goodness. and don't look for the god damn car chase i am pretty sure there isn't one its just the term that i use. Pace again amazing. This really focused in more on Delara and Waleron much like the first book was closer just to Danielle and Balen. Either way amazing, amazing amazing.

Characters:

Alright here is the thing, if you haven't caught on yet its okay usually i don't make myself very clear ;) teehee, i have read the first two before hand, and these two MCs have been in the sort of background and i have been committed with them for awhile, but we get very um staggered, and vague recollections of their past, which WORKS PERFECTLY, it does, trust me, i am not crazy. It works because in the first book i was all for Delara, i was in her corner all the way, and in the second book the tables where changed i was totally in Waleron's corner. Now there are no corners and i just don't know where to go to cry because my corner has been taken! DAMN i am going to have to go find that corner.....characters right! sorry

Delara: Nickname by her best friend Jedrik is Sass/Sassy. It fits her perfectly. For the first two books that is. In those books we really do feel for her, I wanted Waleron to release this hold he had on her in each one of those books. I felt this mental shackles keeping me tied to him through her, especially in this book. I have never been the jealous type before. I am oddly weird and i always like that extra guy that is brought in to make the main guy super jello but in this i was like Waleron and super possessive of who she was with. But here is the thing, those corners i was mentioning earlier they don't exist here. Because while i want to place blame on one of them, either of them deserve it. Delara had a hard life as well, granted she wasn't in the same situation as Waleron but she was tortured for 61 years, longer even as well. Delara is strong to a point, we all have a breaking points and we see her at her worse, and we see her at her best. And never once do i hate her for being "weak", i don't think she was. She was an amazing MC, She left me breathless, and felt like i was punched in the chest. I felt everything with her, (and yes that has a lot to say for the writing, which was beyond remarkable.) She will not disappoint you. She is strong, and she will fight even when all seems lost.

Waleron: Now when i first met him, and I even looked at my review for Jump the first in the series and i had a small blurb on him and i flat out call him an asshole, and i remember from the second book i could tell that he really did care for his Senses, but at the same time, it was difficult for him. I never realize how much until this book. This offers a WHOLE new view on him. There was so much more to him, there was so much pain. In the end its not about words...well maybe a bit about oaths, but mostly its about the actions of a person. Run and hide all you like Waleron i saw your true colors, and they were beautiful. He is not perfect, for fuck's sakes, he is far from it actually, but that is what made him amazing. I thought that i loved Kilter, but man Waleron is close. Though i do have my eyes on a new boy who i am just dying to read about. so let me tell you about some new characters introduced.

Max: Is a girl. Yup you read that right, a girl. She has a very small part in this book but i think that she will be one hell of a character and i can NOT wait to read more about her.

Jasper: now he is the man i have my eye on. I knew it from the moment these two were in the same room together, and that was quite the scene ;) by the way, that this was going to be a perfect match. oh yes. i was quite excited. and no i am not talking about the bathroom scene either ;) you will understand when you read the book.

The writing isn't something i usually talk about but its really needed here. It was like i mentioned before remarkable. It was painful to the pain that i felt like if i read on, if i read just one more sentence that i would fall apart. It was so beautiful that i couldn't wait to see what would happen next. AMAZING. i don't know what else to say to make you understand, well i will give you some synonyms for you: astonishing, astonishing, bewildering, mystifying, inexplicable, had enough yet? alright i will stop only because you insisted ;)

The ending, well i am craving the next one, but it ends making you want more but knowing you can live a few....minutes....seconds....alright i suppose...mili-seconds. hehehe, but seriously. mili-seconds. a little bit kidding, there isn't really a cliffie but man do i want the next one.

In the end this was overwhelming, and raw just like the first two and i am in love. yet again.

KKKKKKKKKKay so its now 5:20 yeah i spent quite some time on this review i know. anyways i am going to give up for the night, so blah blah about being witty and charming, and adorable...what? you are too sweet. anyways some more blah blah blah, i like indie authors, so i read that alot and review them...all together on one blog! wow amazing and time saving! and the link is provided, you are too kind, well i know i am but thanks you are making me blush....apparently i have covnerations with myself when i am running on no sleep all night.hmmm...link: http://theviolethourbookreviews.wordp...

Fall is the third book in the Senses Series. After thinking he was dead for over a half century, Waleron, the love of Delara’s life has returned. Both of them bear so many emotional scars from their ordeals will it even be possible for them to reunite for good?

WOW! Delara and Waleron had me on an emotional rollercoaster from the very beginning of the book. There were times I wanted to weep for them, and other times I wish I was in their world so that I could choke them both. The relationship between Delara and Waleron is emotional and passionate, and it is showcased extremely well. You know an author has done something really special with their characters when they can draw that kind of reaction from the reader! There are too many other characters to mention, and I really liked them all. A couple of my favorites were Xamien, who like Waleron is a Taldburu or leader of the senses. Although his appearance was rather late I already have a book crush and am totally enamored with the assassin Jasper.

Although the book stood alone fairly well, I was heartbroken I didn’t have the opportunity to read the first two in the series beforehand. I was glued to the pages throughout the entire book, but felt like I really missed out on the true personalities of some of the other characters. I did however learn enough from Fall to know that I really like Paterson’s style. She is not only a very descriptive writer, but it is obvious she invests a lot into her characters so that the reader connects with them immediately.

I read and review a lot in the paranormal genre, and one of the main reasons this book stuck with me is because it was in my opinion really unique. As I said before, I really have to recommend starting the series from the beginning. I know that I will be going back for the first two! If they are anything like Fall I know that I am in for a treat. I will also be anxiously looking forward to Paterson’s next release!

I've been anxiously waiting to read Waleron and Delara's story and I'm happy to say that I really really enjoyed it!!

Their journey was heartbreakingly sad, but also so full of love and forgiveness and honesty. I really loved Delara's connection with Xamien and the rest of the Senses. The world that Ms. Paterson has built is fantastic and so full of rich and interesting characters. I can't wait to read Jasper's story...hopefully next :)

The only thing I felt was missing was an epilogue or some glimpse into Waleron and Delara's relationship. After all the drama and angst was over, it would have been nice to see them settled and thriving but hopefully we'll be able to visit them again in future books.

Cindy Paterson’s “Fall”—book 3 in “The Senses” series—retraces the heartrending love story of Waleron and Delara. Paterson returns readers to her Senses world shortly after the end of book two; however, she uses a mixed writing method to move back and forth through time to integrate backstory with current events. Paterson resumes a lighter writing voice in “Fall”, but the change in tone does not retract from the emotional depth and balance in her characters. “Fall” is full of action, betrayal, lust, love, anguish, forgiveness, and hope. Though all the ups and downs, Paterson has readers rooting for a happily ever after and falling in love with “The Senses” all over again.

"Fall" is the 3rd book in the Senses series and Cindy Paterson did not disappoint. I could only eat up each word turning page after page until there we none left.....Delara and Waleron....two pieces meant to fit together and suffered so much together separately before they stopped fighting the love they shared...Lots of action and misery.....I found myself inadvertently holding my breath through some parts...heart wrenching to say the least.....Thanks again for a great read and looking forward to the next book in this series!

Waleron and Delara's story piqued my curiosity in jump the first senses book. They have a very complicated relationship, a century of yearning for one another culminates in an awakening of long suppressed emotions. The journey for them took an eternity and it was so worth it.As with the other senses books there is plenty of kick ass fighting and we finally find out how it all began with Waleron and Delara.A very good book, I definitely recommend it!!

Can I just say here and now that I want the job as plasterer/handyman to the Tilde ....talk about overworked and job security. Those Dry walls have a rough life !!

The best so far but then possibly because this is the ultimate conclusion of the one main love story running through all the books up till now,Delara and Waleron .So much is explained and it felt like a long and epic read with so much, packed in to one book .The writing just gets better and better and maybe because I'm immersed in their world now and sort of get who's who.

My heart broke for Xamian :-( What an absolute sweetheart of a man .I hurt with him.Loved the glimpses of Max and can't wait to read her story !!

I could go on all day about how much I loved this book but just do yourself a favour and read it.Yes it's paranormal ,but it's so much more than that it fits so many genres but a fantastic read is a fantastic read no matter what .

Mind blowing!! That's the only way I can describe this book.

We've all followed the disaster that is Waleron and Delara's relationship. And despite hoping for a miracle I nearly lost all hope of them finding their way back to each other. But miracles DO exist, at least in this book. After a big part of keeping us tens with Tarek's rising and all of their own troubles and scars, the happy ending is finally at reach. It is not and will never be easy for them but after all they went through and the support of the their friends and family, they should be able to live happily ever after.

Now next book is about Max and Jasper. The assassin and the mystery girl. Can't wait to read it!!!!

Oh my goodness!!! This book was heartwrenching. I was a little leary about reading this book because Waleron & Delara's story has been all over the previous books in this series but I am so glad that I did. This story gave so much more than what we have already seen. It was very intense & there were times when I really wanted to reach into my tablet & just strangle certain characters. But by the end I was sooo happy I read it. And I CAN NOT WAIT for the next book in the series.

Hmm..

Mixed feelings about this book. I found it to be WAY more predicting than the first two in the series. I did love the attempt at the whole "love triangle" But I for one never really even saw it as a threat to the two that were finally paired at the end. A little disappointed with how.. predictable and how easily it was to read between the lines. But otherwise, still a fast pace and enjoyable read. Read all in one sitting!!! So excited for the next one, bring it on.

My heart broke for Delara and Waleron so badly. If anyone deserve love for eternity is those two. So much head ache and sorrow but still they borrowed on. My only thing is I wish there was more punishment for Tarek and Zurina but other than that this was another awesome Senses book. Can't wait for more :D

I am liking this series a lot more as I move along. Waleron is the leader of the Toronto Senses and has put everything before himself including his one and only lover Delara. This story is about bringing to lovers back together and putting the past to rest to make new memories together. Again I am a sucker for this type of story always will be. Looking forward to Book 4 Jasper/ Max
